I'd say fog cloud, as we can have +1 from our other bard. And a 20% Miss chance for the others helps more than a 5% hit chance increase for us.

I agree, fog cloud and seeing through it. It greatly increases our survivability. Our biggest issue is keeping our pirates alive long enough to keep enough marines busy for us to deal with them a few at a time.

The pirates will have no problem, as Noonan told he'll take on all. So you have to be worried about Noonans survivability now.

Don't have time to post, but those marines need to make miss chance tools and they can't shoot. Fog remember?

And I was only concerned with named pirates. Not standard crew if the ratio is far in my favor for the Glitterdust.

One great thing about this encounter is is that it gave you some idea of the power of 20 Chelaxian Marines. Even though you encountered them in favourable conditions. That will be very valuable later on.

I liked the way all the background people were handled. I think it did a good job of making it seem like the crews are active without distracting from the PCs.

Ok update on my old restocking post:
I believe we didn't sell the armor/weapons from any of the ships we captured. SO:

Equipping the crew:
First ship captured: 40 sets of studded leather armor plus two daggers, a composite longbow fitted for their strength with 19 arrows and a scimitar.
From Marines: 26 sets of masterwork studded leather armor, Light crossbow with 10 bolts, barding pike, short sword, grappling hook and 50' of hemp rope

We equip the nameless crew with the 40 suits of studded leather armor + 21 more suits of Masterwork studded leather, plus dagger, scimitar/short sword and bow or crossbow with 20 arrows/bolts. The only thing we need to buy there is arrows/bolts.
Lets say we pick up 100 bolts and 200 arrows to restock what was shot, so that's 30 gold.

(This also makes it easy for foxy as all the nameless pirates have same AC, ranged and melee strength)

In addition named crew and each ZpC gets a cure light potion. The other 7 go in the ships store.

For the various battles we have had, we give each of the 61 unnamed crew and additional 100 gold besides the equipment they get to use, except the 14 new crew who only get the new equipment as they haven't been in a fight. (61-14= 47* 100 = 4700 gp)
Each Named crew member( "Fishguts, Conchobhar, Rosie, Sandara, Flips, Owlbear, Chay and Jarrus) we give 250 gp. (2000 gp)
Each PC (Noonan, Besmara, Estelle, Lito, Trytton) we give 2000 (10000 gp)

We gained 23,000 so we have 6270 left.
Take out 2000 to restock/upgrade the Rock.
We have 4770 left:

If we go with 4 months supplies for the 74 people who are on the crew, per my earlier spreadsheet (I'll link it later when I can move it to dropbox):

Calculated at:
Cost of communal living for basics: 3 gp/per crew/month (Water, flour, basic needs, etc.)
Plus: a cup of grog, ale, wine and coffee per crew per day
Also: 4 goats and 7 chickens (for milk, butter and eggs for Fishguts to work with)
32 Pigs to eat (for a pound of meat per day per crew member, when combined with the fish that we can catch.
Feed for all the animals

As well as a Fishing Net
And a compass for the ship

All that come out to: 1969.55 gp for a 4 month supply for all the crew. (It should take care of everything we need for a long time while we live .)

Leaving us with: 2800.45 to go to the ships treasury/restock weapons/enhance the ship.

How does that sound?

I agree as well, Estelle hasn't spent a lot of her money I don't think but I will have to check and update my hero lab when I get home.

Do we need anything else to update on the ship at present?

I should be tracking how many ballista bolts we have fire, I am thinking 3 off the top of my head.

I think I kinda Figured it out, I can do it as brass knuckles and just increase the damage dice.

Trytton suggested the solution that is preferred for the adventure. With him being able to breath under water, the solution is much more easy than it would be normally. But it is not intended to fight 120 marines + 60 sailors.

It would be a feast for my level 10 elemental(fire) sorcerer to burn that crew to cinder and take over the ship, but this is far beyond everything we can take on right now. And Besmara is crazy to want to take over that ship. So if captain Ahab tells you to follow her to get that white whale I suggest you don't. Only if your name is Ismael you might come out of that alive.


Ok then just so you know: the three scrolls were: Air Bubble, Animate Rope and Protection from Evil.

Can I assume most places in the rigging or on the deck of a ship are within a foot of a rope for animate rope?

The Aspis consortium is one of the big players in Golarion. It is no secret where they are based.

Up to you if you take him along. He doesn't count as standard crew. Sandara for example counts as officer as Besmara made her one, but I'm not sure yet if she is on the ship or in the tower. But before you decide you should consider that we are probably going to have a ship fight too.
