Chandria |
"You're not going anywhere!" With determination in her voice, Chandria charges at the pig with her falchion raised high.
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 202d4 + 3 ⇒ (4, 2) + 3 = 9
Confirm: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 62d4 + 3 ⇒ (2, 3) + 3 = 8
Linnet Applesby |
"What about yourself?" she asks. "What was your life like before joining the Wormwood?"
The Changing Tide |
As the blade swings towards him, the man managed to slip out of the way at the last moment, a broad smile splitting his lips. He spits a small fleck of blood from his lips before returning the slice, with an equal result of a miss.
"F#+&! Either you or I or both must go you scaly freak!"
Bleepos feels a cold feeling spread from the wound but managed to fight it off, if only barely. He coughs as his wound burns but doesn't appear to get worse.
Yet... Another Fort save please little B!
As the pig darts away squealing, Chandria pivots and drags her blade down the length of his flank, causing the beast to trip and skid in to a pile of crates, coming to a sharp stop. It lays there bleeding for a moment, its side heaving, before it slip away in to death.
Pig is down. Good job C!
Peppery shrugged softly, a slow smile crossing her lips when it came time for her to recount her own history. "It isn't a big secret, I was the daughter of a minor noble who got bored with all of that stability and nonsense and craved the sea. Began travelling under an assumed name, still do, and haven't looked back!"
Bleepos Droppo |
Do you think I'd crumble?
Did you think I'd lay down and die?
Oh no, not I, I will survive!
Fortitude: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
The goblin pushes himself and clings to live. Yet, he pushes himself to explore that freaking room now that he's all screwed! No pain, no poison, no reward!
I'm Captain Bleepos Droppo! - he thought, confidently.
The Changing Tide |
Bleepos managed to shake off the poison like a champ but is still bleeding and heavily injured as he pushes through the door in to the armory.
This tiny chamber is crammed with chests and neatly ordered weapon racks. The armory is secured with a good lock and trapped. The weapon racks hold 20 clubs, 12 heavy crossbows, 20 cutlasses, 50 javelins, 12 shortspears, and 20 grappling hooks each attached to 50 feet of rope. There are 8 chests arrayed around the room. Two of them are locked.
Bleepos Droppo |
Bleepos first tries to treat himself quickly to stop bleedings and hurt.
Heal (stop bleeding): 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (19) - 1 = 18
He will then proceed to explore as quickly and sneakily as possible. He will try to crudely clean hid blood marks from the room if needed.
Bleepos doesn't care about the weapon racks. He sees the 8 chests, and tries to open the unlocked ones first to check for anything of value he can carry.
Aqguazula |
"Maybe you're right, if you're going to kill me I'm going to drag you to down to the f@@~ing Abyss."
Aqguazula launches into a full assault with both his hair and short sword.
Headbang: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (5) + 0 = 51d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Short sword: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 191d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Bleepos Droppo |
Frustrated with the quantity of stuff he can't really carry (or care), Bleepos reorganizes it back into place. He then proceeds to the locked chests.
First chest
Perception 1 (More Traps? Who knows?): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Disable Device 1 (Unlock): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20
Second chest
Perception 2 (More Traps? Who knows?): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Disable Device 2 (Unlock): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
If needed, Bleepos will take his time (take 20) to open the chests - assuming they don't blow on his face!
Aqguazula |
Is it alright if I my next post in this one aswell? just to quicken up this encounter.
Aqguazula launches into a full assault with both his hair and short sword.
Headbang: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (1) + 0 = 11d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Short sword: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 141d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Next posting
Aqguazula launches into a full assault with both his hair and short sword.
Headbang: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (11) + 0 = 111d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Short sword: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 161d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Sasha Neville |
haven't been posting as not much going on in the rigging right now. giving others a chance to have some fun.
Chandria |
Chandria smiles, pleased with herself but disgusted all the same. She sheathes her oversized weapon and grabs one of the pig's hocks, dragging the bloody corpse over to Kroop.
"Chef Kroop, here's the pig. Not bad, right?"
Int: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
She then butchers it as best she can, sliding a knife from its shoulder to its rump, and skillfully removing the shoulder, loin, and ribs. A pool of blood and guts surrounds her feet when she's done, and she's doing her best to not vomit up the rum she was forced to drink.
Aqguazula |
That's great, glad to hear it.
Sasha Neville |
Later on Sasha makes her way from the rigging. slipping below decks to see what has been going on all day.
The Changing Tide |
Hello all. As I have told one of you, I have been having a lot of trouble with... well everything. I have just come to a point where I do not think I can keep up with the work load I have any more. I have gone back to education after a couple of years and have found myself inundated with new deadlines and expectations that I just did not have before. I am sorry for this and I do not feel right about shutting down the thread completely. I would instead suggest a short hiatus. We have already faced a month, due to lack of internet connection / moving (once again) / stresses of the holidays. I am leaving it up to you, if you will accept a hiatus or whether you want to let this die fully.
I apologize that I had no time to message sooner but I just got my internet put in late on Monday and have been busy with college since. I am sorry again for all of this and please, ignore me and hate me if you must. I would in your positions.
Aqguazula |
Well I personally have don't really have a problem waiting, we've been doing that already anyways. Jokes aside, I'm fine to go on a hiatus with the hopes that we can continue one day, even if Aqguazula is the only original member of the Wormwood captives.
The Changing Tide |
I do want to continue with you guys, it is a goal of mine. I just need to settle in to the classes. I'm stressing hard because I need to find work placement to go with one of my classes (a fact I was not told till the class had started) so once that is done, I feel like I can dedicate more time to the boards.
Aqguazula |
I would say that should settle it then. Hiatus until you're good, that's where I stand anyways.
Chandria |
I'm with Aq here. I've done the same thing where I left a game that I was GMing alone for months because I just couldn't find time for it, so I get it. I play in a bunch of other games so I don't mind this one being on hold for a while. Take care Tide!
Bleepos Droppo |
Alright, on agreement. Good luck with your classes, Tide!
Another possibility: one of us (with the books... I don't have :() could GM until Tide gets back, then go back to playing once it happens. Or, we could recruit yet a new GM, with the promise this person would become a player once Tide gets back. This is one of the games I love the most :)
Chandria |
I own the first two books, actually, but that's a tough call to make and I would not want to feel like I'm stepping on any toes... It's Tide's game after all. Possibly with his, and everyone else's approval, we could work something out. I run two other games on the boards so I'm not completely new to this at all :)
Sasha Neville |
Sasha here, I can wait I don't apply to many new games anymore anyway. so Sasha is gonna be around.
maybe we should move the discussion to the discussion thread
GM Red |
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 141d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Aq is up!
Bleepos had a good idea. The goal here is to finish up with these activities so that all of you and the two new recruits can start fresh on a new day.
Bleepos Droppo |
Damn it Bleepos is a goblin! It's alchemist's FIRE! Anyway... Would I be able to keep hiding/stashing this stuff with the rest of my hidden stash? I'm using the other backpack I found and keeping it under some loose planks I loosened on my second night at the ship. The intention would be to pick the alchemist's fire and hide there with the rest of the stuff. Bleepos will sneak and hide the keys to the armory near Sly's belongings, maybe under her straw bed or whatever
Aqguazula |
Aqguazula side steps the blade."Your time is up. You're going to wish you were dead after I'm done with you. "
non lethal stab: 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 - 4 = 201d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
crit conf: 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 - 4 = 151d6 + 4 + 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 + (4) + 4 = 16
GM Red |
The swordsman wavers on his feet as Aq hits him in the face with the side of his blade, then he crashes down on one knee and abruptly drops his weapon. "Yer gonna pay... Trust me.." he says as he tilts over and down, the back of his head slamming into the deck.
He's unconscious. Nice job!
Aqguazula |
Once the man falls, Aqguazula immediately begins to work. Using his shortsword, he slices their clothing off.'Ha, pink skinned little pigs, they won't be needing them.' Jamming some of the loose material into their mouth, tying up their hands and feet.
use rope: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Before leaving he will put out the torches, "Don't worry I will be back to play with you two."
Laughing as he climbs out of the bilge.
Aqguazula is going to look for Sandara for her help.
Bleepos Droppo |
Yes, they're below deck. Near the sleeping area, on the corner of a hall. As for hiding the keys on Sly's - it seems she died already (lol) so the victim would be someone else. But I'd rather hide the armory keys somewhere else on the meanwhile, then. It can be on the pocket that someone who's already sleeping, for example (not anyone on the party... Maybe another one of the guys who attacked us?). I just don't want to hide it with me, neither with my stash. Does it take too long? The armory thing was during the day I believe. After that, Bleepos will probably just go drink some rum until he goes to sleep
GM Red |
After binding the men and stripping them nude, Aqguazula heads back up to the top deck to find Sandara swabbing as she does so well. She looks up from her work as you approach and smiles brightly. "Ah, I thought I'd heard a ruckus down below. Might that have been you?" She laughs, not expecting a sincere answer either way.
Bleepos Droppo |
Sounds like a plan! Not sure if I have to roll something. Bleepos will just go back to Rosie when he finishes to continue with his daily swabbing, then for the night some rum drinking until he's feeling sleepy
Aqguazula |
Aqguazula will stare her down, covered in blood some of his and some of it someone else's.
taking his eyes off of her for a quick moment to look out for scourge and Pluggs. Bending over his large frame to her head level,"They tried to have me killed in the Bilge, meet me down there in five minutes. I need your help."Whispered Aqguazula.
walking away from Sandara, back into the dark recesses of the ship.
GM Red |
Aqguazula notices a bit of increased activity on deck, with several pirates taking turns looking out to sea.
Sandara frowns as she listens, then silently nods and sets down her mop as she walks after you and towards the bilges.
Give me a stealth and perception check
Perhaps a stealth check just to be sure
After stashing the trove of alchemical weapons in a locker, Bleepos makes his way back to Rosie to finish up his daily swabbing.
Give me your night actions and rum ration fort saves if you haven't already
Bleepos Droppo |
Stealth: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (17) + 12 = 29
Bleepos returns to Rosie still chewing dust he found while walking back. He stays silent, by times stopping to scratch his butt and smile at her, friendly.
Later, it's rum time!
Fortitude: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
He just loves that rum! Yay, drink drink drink as the pirates go!
For his nighttime action, he will try to "Influence" the Cabin Girl, "Caulky" Tarroon. More friends, why not?
Aqguazula |
Stealth: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
GM Red |
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Mister Plugg looks over at Aqguazula as he moves along the deck and back beneath the ship. He cocks his head when he notices blood on Aq's body, but a lookout quickly calls him over to see something else.
Now safely beneath deck, Sandara looks at Aqguazula with concern. "Are you alright? What of the bodies?"
Bleepos finds Captain Harrigan's cabin girl, "Caulky" Tarroon enjoying her rum ration while looking out to sea, focused clearly on one specific point in the distance in what little light is left of the evening.
Aqguazula |
Aqguzula will put his hand on his left side, clutching where his stab wound was.
"I'm alright, a few stabs here and there. Nothing that magic and Dagon's blessing couldn't heal. I've dealt with worse, thanks though."
As they continued to the lower deck, he would answer her other question
"they're alive, lucky for them. However I can't them just leave with their lives, a clear message needs to be sent to Plugg and Scourge. I can't harm them, but their lackeys are fair game." whispered Aqguazula with a wicked grin.
Bleepos Droppo |
Hi! Why you isolated? - said the Goblin, coming close to her, abruptly - Captain Bleepos sorry to startle you!
He stops to look at the sea as well.
Well, no more Captain. Slave now. Running around ship, carrying stuff for others. Bleepos misses his previous life. - he continues, sipping his own small mug of rum and trying to make conversation.
GM Red |
Tarroon quickly turns as the small goblin sidles up next to her. "Oh I know who ya are," the despondent woman says to Bleepos. "Been hearin' ya caused all sorts of trouble around here. Ya better be careful, no one's gonna be savin' goblin hide tomorrow if anythin' should happen to ya." She takes a swig of rum and swallows hard.
Bleepos notes a ship somewhere in the distance - far enough that he can't see much more than its outline, the night sky now completely surrounding the seas. From the flow of the wind on Bleepos' face, he's able to gather that the Wormwood appears to be sailing towards it.
Sandara muffles a laugh, then playfully whacks Acquazula on the back and whispers back, "Are you crazy? They're gonna be found in no time. Haha, Scourge is going to be pissed." She's quite pleased.
"Although, from what I hear, you picked the perfect time to do this. Something's about to go down tomorrow. I don't know what, but Plugg and Scourge and even the Captain have been rushing around the deck all day, cursing and commanding the others to bring arrows up from the armory."
Sasha, anything you'd like to do for a night action?
Bleepos Droppo |
Troubles? Bleepos? - he said, trying to look as innocent as they come - Bleepos is such a dedicated swab! Goblins have reputation for not causing troubles, you know. Goblins calm and hardworking.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15 Absurdly trying to improve her attitude using Bleepos' impressive diplomatic skills!
He didn't actually protest much; Instead, he cheerfully smile and then got curious about the ship she was looking at and tried to push his eyes to see its sails.
Thanks for the advice. You're nice to Bleepos. - he paused quickly before proceeding - What's longshanked girl's story? How did you end up here?
Sasha Neville |
nowhere in particular just going below to see what is happening. also to see if any word of the approaching ship has spread to the rest of the crew.
basically just Have Sasha show up anywhere you think she is needed

Sasha, anything you'd like to do for a night action?
I think Sasha had a date with ratline lined up
Aqguazula |
"Haha, maybe Sandara. I've worked with Aboleth and lived a dangerous life of slaving and dealt with sycophantic family betrayals. I always take risks, but I've made it this far." He said proudly
"The Deities and other entities put us here to act and test us. We act according to their teachings, we just have different deities and methods of worship, but not is the time for theological debate. If you help me, I will owe you a favour. Captain said not to kill his property, I plan on banging them up, I just need your help to make sure they don't die. If not, we can just keep them down there to suffer, your choice." Standing below he will wait for her to answer."
GM Red |
Tarroon scoffs at the question. "Goblins are hardwokin'? HAH!" She nearly spills her drink into the sea as she laughs at the thought. "I ain't tellin' you nothin'. I've been eatin'.. Nah, testin' nearly all of the Cap'ns meals since I got here. Testin' 'em for poison... from the likes of creatures like you." She laughs as she tucks back another gulp of rum, then begins to sloppily walk back down below deck. "See ya later, greenskin."
I don't know if Tide mentioned, but while most NPCs aboard can be influenced in some way, others you'll have less luck with, and it's just something your character will have to find out. This at least still counts as building a relationship since she now knows who you are!
Sasha shows up on deck as Tarroon walks away to find Bleepos looking out to sea.
"A risk taker is an understatement," Sandara giggles. "I do agree. Besmara is not above murder, but if what I'm guessing are your goals is right, my prayers have been answered." She smiles at Aqguazula, then nods as a stern look washes over her face. "Where are they? We need to do this quickly."
Bleepos Droppo |
Bleepos just laughs friendly as the cabin girl leaves. His tiny green brain thinks about at least a dozen terrible things to do with the Captain's meals, but by another hand - she didn't look like someone who deserved to die just yet, so he was glad to have never poisoned or worse the food.
As Sasha comes by, Bleepos greets her with a handwave.
Ah! Bleepos sees you're coming for the sea too. Bleepos thought you were busy like the others, though.
He sips the last of his rum, before pointing at the other ship afar.
Do you see that? Who does longshanked sorceress think they are?
Aqguazula |
Aqguazula will let out a low chuckle, "Excellent, may the visions in my dreams remain true." Exclaimed Aqguazula.
"they're tied up naked in the bilge, resting for now."
Deeper into the ship they go, away from watching eyes.
Sasha Neville |
Sasha leans on the rail looking out over the sea. noticed it earlier today. Not sure if we mean to circle back and take it on or not. either way, I am hoping its my ticket off of this ship and onto a better one.
looking to the little goblin, her tail swirls around to pat the little goblin on the head, not to worry though, I am hoping that you would join me if the chance to get out of here should arise.
