A night of revelry at the Formidably Maid sees four unlucky patrons become the latest additions to the crew of the Wormwood. Will the newcomers thrive in their new positions or become food for the sharks?
I hear ya loud and clear. I'm going to try and get more posting done, I've been pretty busy lately.
On another side note, Allysen's player has been MIA from this and my girl's game, but I've heard that cons are big this time o' year so that could be what's going on.
If worse comes to worse, I think Ally's alt. is in another game so I may be looking at another recruitment. What's the usual "allotted" time that player's are allowed? I don't want to be a dick and go "YOU ARE REMOVED FOR NOT POSTING!!!111" but I also want to get things moving a little faster.

try sending a pm and give 12 or 24 hours? That's what I'd do, but just a suggestion.
and yeah, there are a lot of gaming cons and memorial day is a big family weekend thing for a lot of people in the states, so might have just been off for the one weekend.

@DM you mentioned speeding up the routine days. Do you want us to make a series or grouping daytime and nighttime rolls for you? Or do you want to fast forward till we get near the next ship event?
The only thing Jasmine is focused on now is solidifying her PC and NPC contacts and relationships. Confirming who is likely friendly, indifferent and hostile. Watching out for her friends backs and those persuadable indifferent crew members.
Other then that she will seek to get gear for herself and others, stockpile anything she can. Also, to make sure she has a good feel for the ship.
She would try to get closer to Grok and Ambrose offering to write and keep track of items/inventory.
What might work is have you guys group your rolls based on blocks of days where nothing much happens and then throw in the events where big things do happen.
So perhaps having a (@charname: job + DCs) then wait for everyone to tell me what their action is and then set up the RPs?
Also, I'm going to put a hold on until we get player #4 chosen again. I got a PM from Ally letting me know that he's gotta drop out to take some time away from the forums. I'll have things starting to run again within the next 6 hours or so, hopefully.
Hello folks this is Rune, player of the Lucky Ned character. I will be building up a profile and should post in the next minutes. Seeing as I'll be getting the crunch from my sheet up, any house rules I should know? What about the current party setup? You want me to cover any weaknesses or a lack of a specific mechanic?
Fresh meat walking the plank! Profile created, working on crunch. Any suggestions? I'm a little lost on feats (the ones I wanted to get all have that pesky BAB +1 requisite).
I know I'm springing this on you but essentially, Ned, you're the man overboard, hanging on semi-conscious for dear life on some flotsam from a scuttled ship. We can work out the details later on how this happened, but you're "Lucky Ned". You're lucky! And this isn't the first time this has happened.
Also, so you're in the same "boat" as the other players, as it were, you'll have your holy symbol and one weapon. The rest of your gear is down in the depths. Don't worry, you can get equipment the same way as everyone else.

No scaring away for me, I post frequently. Sort of waiting on GM to decide how he wants to cover chunks of days. He was waiting on including you Lucky Ned, so it has been a bit slow.
Have your read through the discussion and gameplay yet to get your bearings?

I'm in the final stretch of writing my master's thesis so the last few days have been a little spotty for me. Still, Amerdan's fairly taciturn as it is, so I doubt anyone noticed.
Will we be retcon-ing out Allysen or just assuming she's MIA or...?
No retcon, I'm really not a fan of doing that. Right now she's MIA as far as the crew is concerned. Nobody has seen her and she's presumed either overboard, or hiding somewhere.
Just wanted my character to get his grip on the present situation. After that I'll adjust myself to it the best I can. The mutiny part was a bait to actually appraise the current situation (verdict is: bad but not that bad).
That blonde that's hands-up on the thigh of another man?
Been reading the Discussion and Gameplay threads and I'm having fun so far. Apparently Ned's assessment of the situation is terrible, I just hope he doesn't find that the hard way.
Oh, and "I may die" cracked me up. 3d6 at first level is cruel, man, cruel.
Having read both the text in the profile and the one about Jobs on the Wormwood, I have a few questions if you won't mind:
So could I take this late afternoon to Influence a certain red-haired NPC?
When would you want me to declare the actions and roll the check? And what is that check anyway?
You can take it as your "nighttime action". Basically it's a strait Diplomacy roll to increase your party's standing with the NPC. She's already as influenced as she can be with the party starting out (sitting at Helpful). So when the rations come about you just let me know what action you're taking and I'll weave it in. In the morning Ned will be assigned a job. Since Allysen is MIA you'll end up being the cook's mate, which is potentially both the easiest and hardest job on board.

yeah, but it IS the weekend... Ive taken all my ship actions for the day and am just waiting for everyone else to take their actions and for things to move on.
Didn't mean to do that. I was merely making small talk as I thought the DM looked busy and we could be waiting on the other players. I do that a lot. Feel free to cut the conversation short anytime and fast forward to the next scene.
Yeah, I've become very busy at work and I also work 6 days a week and am in 3 games (not including this one) on top of everything else so my free time has been cut just a tad but I try to get things posted when I have a minute or twenty to spare.

DM - so far two of us have rolled initiative is this something you want us to do or do you want to roll that out? To speed matters along DM rolling works. Right now there is no issue with the players posting but how do you want to handle that for combat? Is there a time limit before DMpcs the character? Also, how have you decided how to run combat?
I can make one suggestion I think speeds up combat somewhat without consequences. When a combat is gonna start, the DM can roll all the PCs Iniatiatives in one single post, writing down the Initiative list just below that. That way everyone knows that combat has started and when they're acting.
For combat, I'm going to suggest that everyone post what they're planning on doing for their round (and one alternative set of actions, should it be applicable) and I'll resolve things as they come. In the future I'll also roll initiative to speed things up.
So, example: The dire rats are going to move up to Jasmine and bite her (1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22; 1d3 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0 damage [minimum 1 nonlethal]), attempting to avoid provoking all AoOs. If that's not possible, they'll move to flank the nearest target and swarm them.

Here is the Loot tally for everyone to see;
Studded leather
3 heavy maces
Buckler
Msw hand Ax
Holywater vial (Besmaras blessing)
waterproof bag
1 Tanglefoot bag
2 Tindertwings
21 GP
12 SP
As far as Jasmine is concerned you all can have the armor and weapons. The only items she has an interest in is the Waterproof bag (for spell components, spell book and/or parchment) and tanglefoot bag.
DM how big is the waterproof bag?Big enough for a spell book, or more the size of spell component pouch?
Of course the coin which divides to:
5 GP each
5 SP each
5 CP each (assuming we can convert the GP/SP to coppers)
