So next to my home-campaign i want to run a S&S PbP.
This will be homegame-style, but get reported as PFS-Game and receive a chronicle if you wish.
Specs are:
-6 players
-20 point buy
-2 traits, one of which should be a campaign trait.
-everything legal in PFS will be legal here too, except you can play races you would need a boon for (no goblins though, because as soon as you say this, you have a crew of goblins....which can be fun, but changes the game completely, what i don´t want).
-backgroundstories not too long and not too freaky please. Characters should be likely and playable. You don´t need to be the sole member of a whole slaughtered and raped tribe seeking vengeance right after you got rid of this magical curse and your mental conditions, that make you even more special. Be clever and use campaign traits, other traits, class, race, feats, birthplace and race as a background, making a nice picture with Golarion fluff. And remember you are level 1, not 10.
-No creepy reflavoring.
-Reading the S&S players guide is kind of obvious, other pirate books like Player Companion Pirates of the Shackles recommendable.
Best be able to post 3+ times a day and deliver some nice roleplaying (that is why it´s a homegame and not just the PFS parts).
Will probably use googledrive or something like that for maps.
Due to an upcoming CON and shifting workloads there might be the PbP typical ups and downs in posting. Would like to start sometime next week.
I too am interested. I started a Skull & Shackles with Dorin, but it died part way through. I will have to scale him back to 1st level, but I could easily do so.
Starting gold and gear is 150gp.
Generally nearly everything will be handled like in PFS.
You can see allowed stuff on the
Additional resourcespage. I will also allow races which you would need a boon for to play except goblins. But no other races.
I just completed my first adventure with this character Pizzmic in his debut PFS pbp module. I have playes him a great while before taking him online and I usually post 3 or more times a day. I would love the oppurtunity to play in this adventure.
I also have a charcter I play in my real life game that is a lvl 10 swashbuckling fighter. I can make him level one and basically rewrite his story. Think captain nemo flurry of attacks with jack sparrows aloofness
Okay, this is WhtKnt's proposed character for this game. All the relevant information should be in the link. Please let me know if anything is missing.
I'd like to toss my hat in the ring. Reck was created for the same S&S game that Noro was in, DM went AWOL. Our characters hit it off pretty well - if you pick us both we might adjust our backstories to know each other. Reck's stats are in this alias' profile, I can easily adjust stuff to your liking. We rolled stats so of course I'll redo them as a 20 pt buy.
I do believe "Peg Leg" fits the bill now. I have to say, I have experience with the player of Noro, so I'm hoping I get a chance to be in another game with them!
I just looked over my own character sheet. The only change I would need to make to make it fit your rules would be to drop his Cha from a 14 (base 12) to a 13 (base 11).
Here is Alian Shadestrom, sorcerer (aquatic bloodline). It looks like the other Skulls & Shackles campaign that he was created for has crashed and burned. I believe he meets your character creation guidelines but let me know if you see any problems.
I'd like to throw an alchemist into the mix and see what happens.
I won't be creating an alias right now but will create one if selected.
Zirul, N male half-elf alchemist (bramble brewer, chirurgeon)
Ship's Surgeon campaign trait.
Background:
Zirul was born of an unlikely union of an elven druidess and an Andoren privateer. He has inherited his mother's affinity to nature, but also his father's unruly freedom-loving spirit. His father was away on raids most of the time, and one day he did not return from the sea. Young Zirul chafed under his mother's care, lacking the elven patience, and eventually came to rebel against the druidic teachings. He fled the wilderness and found his way to Port Peril, where he took an apprenticeship in alchemy. Finding ways to evoke magical properties from the mixes of seemingly mundane flowers, herbs or even brambles fascinated him.
Unfortunately for him, he found that there was little demand for alchemy in the pirate city that was not already covered by the few established masters. Thus after his apprenticeship ended, he was forced to look for a mundane job. He settled for being a naval carpenter, where he could put his skill with plants to strengthen the wood and add cosmetic decorations to it.
Reluctantly, he discovered that a carpenter is often a ship’s doctor as well — after all, who knows more about sawing off limbs than someone who saws wood for a living? People are a lot bloodier than wood, that’s for sure, but Zirul haven’t had many complaints — those sailors who have enjoyed his services were either happy to be alive or dead, and there were a couple of old salts who sweared the peg legs he for made them were better than the real legs they used to have.
He was between ships in Port Peril, and after stopping for a drink at a tavern called the Formidably Maid, he happened upon a damsel in distress in the alleyway outside. Thinking he could help, he didn’t notice the thugs hiding nearby, and they caught him unawares. Zirul's been on enough ships to know a press gang by the blow of the sap on the back of his neck — he just hoped whatever ship he ended up on needed a surgeon.

If multiple submissions are allowed, I'm also thinking of a more traditional healer character - cleric of Gozreh, perhaps.
Throwing my hat into the ring as well - not entirely certain that Nedra's 100% PFS legal, as I'm still new to organized play - however I wouldn't be wanting a chronicle for her anyway. :)
@Variel: Really? I foundtwo, of which only the first one is a pirate. But yeah, I know I am terrible at naming characters. Usually I'm able to come up with an OK name after an hour or two but I did not have that much time.
Incidentally, there are 18 Ziruls on these boards vs 51 Variel.
@CyberMephit: I was just messing. lol I just find it kinda funny to see the name of Zirul, as both a pirate and an alchemist, since I played that one that was piratical. ;)
It's by far my favorite AP. Its easy for me to come up with concepts for it, honestly, and I didn't get in until over half the AP was finished, so I missed a lot of stuff.
I have a character ready for review as well. A Sylph Barbarian I built to be a swift fighter-type (Considered Corsair and Mobile fighters but the 2+int mod skill points per level was a turn off). Yes she does have a 50 base speed at 1st level due to a combination of class, racial and feats.

Create a profile for your character and post using that profile. When recruitment is done, the DM will announce those chosen and set up a new game thread.
Well she perfers to be called "Tanya The Swift". Her full name is Tanya Taylor. Didn't know that was actually a person named Taylor Swift. I'll probably change her last name to avoid confusion.
