Grauchi |
Grauchi prays to Gozreh and renews his spells for the attack.
He looks around at his companions. Which buff spell would best serve our effort to retake the ship.
Grauchi - CON or STR (increased shillelagh+5 1d8+2 -> +6 1d8+3)
Mopsank - DEX (increased dagger+7/+7 1d3+4 -> +8/+8 1d3+4, where is +4damage from?)
Pew-Pew - DEX (increased pistol+8 1d6 -> +9 1d6)
Sassarra - DEX (increased kinetic blast +8 2d6+3 -> +9 2d6+3)
Skrelznit - STR (increased short sword+7 1d4+4 -> +8 1d4+5)
"We must wake up early and attack before the sun stings in our eyes. If we attack in low light, I can give our poor pew-pew keen senses"
Pew - Pew |
"Pew Pew see by little suns or dim star. Just no star that problem."
Pew-Pew sits by the stone and cleans the workings of his pistol to prepare for the morning.
If you have something make PewPew sneaky that help.
I am going to take a potion of Invis out of party inventory to get a sneak attack midcombat. Will try to stealth in to make first attack sneaky as well. If someone wants to rp giving the potion this is your layup.
Skrelznit Stinklaw |
Whatever you decide is fine, Grauchi. Looks like DEX is the most used.

Grauchi |
So we goes in the night! In the cover of darkness we can sneak aboard and kills Plug and Scourge we should be able to contain the rest so they'll not resist too much.
Grauchi |
Sassarra finds a piece of driftwood with a nice looking skull fetish on it. The skull is from a hammerhead shark. Value at 250 gp
But looking at the driftwood Skrelznit can till it is a wand of some kind. Skrelznit also finds a Ivory Walrus tusk (400 gp) that is hollowed out with a map in it, and a harp made from a orca with pearls set in it (500 gp).
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17 (Standing watch)
When it is Grauchi's turn to stand watch, he takes a closer look at the wand Sassarra found, but couldn't identify.
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
When he doesn't recognize the wand, or its function, he takes his time to get a closer inspection of the map. Maybe it he is familiar with some landmarks on the map. Is it pointing anywhere? Like a treasure map.
Knowledge Geography: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21 (Close inspection of the map, to find hidden indications)
Hokina |
I should have said On it, not In it. The map is a scrimshawed map on the tusk. But it is hollowed out. So is light.
Looking over the Ivory tusk, Grauchi can tell it is a map of the Shackles. A few places are marked on the map: like Rickety’s Squibs, Tidewater Rock, towns, and shipyards.
To move things along I will just roll 4 d20's for Stealth Synergy and one for Pugg's lookout.
1d20 ⇒ 13
1d20 ⇒ 7
1d20 ⇒ 4
1d20 ⇒ 16
1d20 ⇒ 17
You all find you were able to sneak onto the ship without being seen.
Skrelznit Stinklaw |
Skrelznit whispers as they are rowing toward the ship,
Cut off the head of a snake, and the rest is no danger-k-k-k. We should try to kill Plugg first, then his minions may give up without a fight-k-k-k.
Skrelznit Stinklaw |
If the group makes it unseen to Plugg's cabin, Skrelznit will search for traps.
Perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 28
Hokina |
I put the map of the ship up. Master Scourge and Plugg's loyal men are using the officers' Quarters (B6). Mr Plugg himself is using the Captain’s Cabin (b7).
As you climb on the ship you see that the deck looks to be clear except for Owlbear, (the pirate named Owlbear), is tied to the mast with a chain. He is sitting in front of the Captain's Cabin.
Grauchi |
Grauchi explains the "new recruits".
"That is tall-fellow Owlbear. He's also not happy with Plugg, we can free him and he'll help us. He'll even know where to find Plugg."
He walks up to Owlbear and puts his finger in front of his lips, he whispers,
"Sshhjj, we'll free you. Ok? No sound, we don't wont to wake up the rest of the ship, no?"
Skrelznit Stinklaw |
Plugg is not nice to you. We treats you better, because we likes you.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (18) + 0 = 18
Pew - Pew |
Pew-Pew will look for somewhere on the deck near the captain's quarters to hide until the fighting breaks out, hoping to get an early drop on the captain.
Stealth: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15
Yuck, anyone else want to hide too? I could use a the defacto reroll from Stealth Synergy
Did not see my icon on the battle map, so I just added it, placed myself behind what looks like a pile of ropes maybe?
Pew - Pew |
NICE! Retconning.
Pew-Pew sees Grauchi move through the shadows, and it makes him realize that his red tail is sticking out noticeably behind the pile of ropes and lines. He curls himself into a smaller profile and readies his pistol for when the action starts.
New Stealth result 18 + 11 = 29
Skrelznit Stinklaw |
Skrelznit moves silently into position and checks the door for traps.
Stealth: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (9) + 13 = 22
Stealth Synergy: 18 + 13 = 31
Do you want me to use the previously rolled Perception, or do another one now?
Grauchi |
Since this is a RNG and not random, that 18 would have been used for something more usefull though hadn't I rolled it. :p
Grauchi signs to open the door. He looks at owlbear. Shouldn't we untie him? He checks if he can release owlbear, but Grauchi can't pick a lock.
Skrelznit Stinklaw |
Skrelznit shrugs as if to say "I don't know how to pick a lock either."
Skrelznit Stinklaw |
Skrelznit hisses.
Enough talk-k-k-k. We release Owlbear with key we take off Plugg's corpse-k-k-k.
Skrelznit focuses his inner dragon Animal Focus for +2 Strength for 1 minute, then prepares to open the door.
Is it locked?
Grauchi |
Active Conditions:
Shillelagh : 30/30 rounds remaining = 1d8+1 magic weapon
Grauchi mumbles a short prayer to Nogo, the forest dragon and his club hardens into a black-green Shillelagh.
Skrelznit Stinklaw |
Skrelznit opens the door quietly.
Stealth: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (20) + 13 = 33 Very quietly, I might add.
Pew - Pew |
I had misread the map earlier, I thought we were heading towards B6. I have fixed my placement.
Pew-Pew suddenly realizes that he has gotten the directions that were provided mixed up, he is looking at the crew's cabin instead of the captain's.
With Skrelznit's lead he repositions quietly to be close to where Plugg will be coming out onto deck hopefully.
Stealth to be next to one of the boats on the side of the ship near B7. 20+11 = 31 stealth.
Grauchi |
Inside Grauchi's head, the song "Its oh so quiet" is playing as he tries to sneak along.
Shhhh Shhhh
It's, oh, so quiet
Shhhh Shhhh
It's, oh, so still
Shhhh Shhhh
You're all alone
Shhh Shhh
And so peaceful until...
The attack begins
Zing boom
The sky up above
Zing boom
Is caving in
Wow bam
You've never been so hurt ye by a guy
You cannot laugh you wanna cry
You cross your heart and hope not die
'Til it's over and then...
Shhhh Shhhh
It's nice and quiet
Shhhh Shhhh
But soon again
Shhhh Shhhh
Starts another big riot
Surprisingly little needed change
Sassarra |
Sassarra readies to fire lightning at the first of their enemies to come forth.
touch attack: 1d20 ⇒ 15
electric damage: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (3, 2) + 3 = 8
Skrelznit Stinklaw |
Shhhh...Last one in, close and bar the door-k-k-k.
Skrelznit sneaks quietly to the head of Plugg's hammock and readies his short sword.
Stealth: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (5) + 13 = 18 C'mon, somebody roll better than that, please.
The map we're on is "The Ship".
Skrelznit Stinklaw |
Are we ready?
Skrelznit is suspicious that this is too easy, but then again he is a mighty hunter and will make a very good Captain, so it makes sense that we would get the drop on Plugg so easily thanks to his superior leadership skills. ;-)
Skrelznit nods his head to indicate time to strike.
Short sword, Outflank, Animal Focus Bull: 1d20 + 7 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 7 + 4 + 1 = 19 Damage, Precise Strike, AFB: 1d4 + 4 + 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 4 + (3) + 1 = 11
Edit: forgot Looseal!
Bite, Outflank: 1d20 + 8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 8 + 4 = 20 Damage, Precise Strike: 1d4 + 1d6 ⇒ (4) + (4) = 8
Edit Edit: forgot Animal Focus
Edit Edit Edit: forgot +5 Flaming Sword of Death To People Named Plugg
Hokina |
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18

1d20 ⇒ 7
1d3 ⇒ 2
Skrelznit Stinklaw (22)
Plugg (18)
Grauchi (14)
Pew Pew (8)
Sassarra (6)
Skrelznit will go. Then Plugg and his crew.
Then it swiches to Party. Then Non-party.
Plugg awakes and screams out as blade, bird, and lightning strikes him.
Round 1:
Skrelznit is up.
Skrelznit Stinklaw |
With a primal cry, Skrelznit and Looseal strike at their tormentor.
Short sword, Outflank, Animal Focus Bull: 1d20 + 7 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 7 + 4 + 1 = 14 Damage, Precise Strike, AFB: 1d4 + 4 + 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 4 + (2) + 1 = 8

Hokina |
Round 1:
Plugg coughing up some blood as he sees Sassarra. "Dumb Owlbear, can't do anything right."
He grabs his cutlass and tries to jumps up.
Draws AOO
From outside Grauchi sees Scourge rush out of the door on the other side of the deck with a small group of man rushing out with their weapons at the ready.
Round 2:
Whole party is up.
Skrelznit Stinklaw |
AoO Shortsword, Outflank, AFB: 1d20 + 7 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 7 + 4 + 1 = 27 Damage, Precise Strike, AFB: 1d4 + 4 + 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 4 + (3) + 1 = 11
AoO Bite, Outflank: 1d20 + 8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 8 + 4 = 14 Damage, Precise Strike: 1d4 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + (5) = 8
Skrelznit Stinklaw |
I am a scaly super God of War!!!
Skrelznit takes a moment Full round action to chop Plugg's head clean from his body.
@GM how long do I think this will take?
