I'll say. Thank goodness for the folks who write the free toolkits, for those major geeks.
Honestly, it's running better than ever now. Haven't tried to game yet, but am able to post. Got rid of a lot of things, like the various NVIDIA drivers/tools/services. I haven't used an NVIDIA card for year and a half.
Now if I could just fix this insomnia. 2-4 hours of wretched, fitful sleep each night isn't cutting it. Never had magnesium and Benadryl fail me before.
At least we finally have snow. That's a comfort. :)

Sorry, was waiting my turn hoping I could avoid the sludge.
GM Treppa |
No worries! The USAians were in a food coma anyway. Which I think is just Ben and the GM. o_O This is a Commonwealth-dominant game!
Heck, DSX, you can drown in six inches of water. So I guess you'd have 4 times the chance of drowning in 2' of water? >_>
In other news, my dice appear to hate DSX.

LOL!
Just a little re-post from the Treehouse, just so you know where I was this weekend. So far,... ;P
Hope all y'all enjoyed yer Turkey and Stuffing day! :)
My weekend? ----
Oi vay!
What a day!
Weekend started out good. Thanksgiving we had Wife's dad and cousins over. Had fun and food. Went to New Orleans on Friday, avoided Insanity that is 'Black Friday' and only had to deal with stupid traffic going into NO for the 'Bayou Classic' game on Sat. Fri evening we went to opening night of 'Celebration in the Oaks', where they cover City Park in Christmas lights and light sculptures. Had not been in a few years. I think we adults had more fun than the teenage kids. It was fun.
We decided to drive back early today. Avoid 'game' traffic and what-not. (N.O. to Lafayette, 2 hours tops) Turns out there was a horrible incident on the I-10, on the long bridge close to Lafayette. A semi-truck burst into flames (Apparently it was carrying Pepto-Bismol. This makes me seriously reconsider my choice of tummy ailment treatments!)
Fortunately we saw a warning LED sign on the road before we hit the closed section of road and got off, taking what should have been a simple, little-longer detour.
Short story, we left N.O. before 2pm, we finally got home at 9:30pm.
>_<
Scariest part of the entire trip? Watching the semi only one car ahead of us suddenly go into reverse (not slipping backwards, actually saw it's White back-up lights come on!) and back up into the car ahead of us! Then drive ahead as if nothing had happened.
I have never been so glad to be home !! ;P

Thanks, Me too! :)
Yeah, It's just been one of those weeks.
All of my carefully crafted plans and schedules for resets on stage this week got shot out of the water with a nuke yesterday. :P
On top of that, having to deal with Diva-drama that I do NOT get paid enough for,... :/
Yeah,... Thanks the Lord for loving family, DVR'd TV super-hero shows, and PbP's. :)
And Hard Cider! ;)
Oh yeah, and YAY 'This'! ;)

Hey guys, I have a couple of questions about my post formatting:
1. Do you like the bolding of your names for the first use in a combat post? I thought it might help you locate your fate more quickly.
2. Do you like all the technical stuff under spoilers at the end, out of the way of the narrative?
3. Are the map links and on-deck order in the header useful for when you look at all your pbps?
Ragadolf |
Well,... Since you asked,... ;P
1) Very helpful actually, especially when I miss a few days in a row and am catching back up. :)
2) Tech stuff in the middle doesn't bother me, (I do it all the time, but I might start spoilering it like you are for narrative purposes) But I do enjoy it at the end too. Does make reading the narration easier/nicer. :)
3) Map links VERY useful, yes, Please keep! :)
On deck order is helpful, but not AS important in PbP, still very nice, again especially when I'm out of loop. (As I tend to get) ;P
Thank you! :D

1) Bolding is good -- it makes it easy to find ourselves, as you say.
2) I'm fine either way -- though I do have a sight preference for not interrupting the narrative -- but if it's a lot more work, no worries.
3) Very useful. Much goodliness.
GM Treppa |
Thank you for the feedback; that's enough thumbs-up to keep me keepin' on. I don't mind a bit of extra work if it makes life easier for everyone and keeps the game moving smoothly, or if it makes the game more fun or immersive. But my German blood demands efficiency; so I don't want to continue useless work!
Ragadolf |
You call it efficiency, I call it 'Constructive laziness'. :)
I take my time and do things right the FIRST time. Because I am FAR to dang lazy to be going back and doing it again! ;P
On a similar note, would (any of) you prefer (or do you care?) if I also started bolding my PC's conversation? I do not tend to do that as I pretend that I am practicing as if I would write a book.
(It'll never happen, but it's fun to pretend!) ;)
But I do not mind if everyone would prefer that style of posting.
Ensis Spirius Corax |
Think we did, yes.
Don't think it matters too much -- Ensus would still be worried about even a staggered Dee.
GM Treppa |
Ah, man, sorry if I botched the pacing. Posts were getting a little sparse, so I thought interest in that particular area was waning. Sorry to drag you along so abruptly!
I botched dinner timing, too - the fish and asparagus are perfectly done while the rutabaga would still do for d6's. Not my best day.
Tilnar |
No worries, Treppa. Given that Dee was flattened and we just found a bunch of weird magic stuff and documents -- and we're worried about getting caught in the light -- I think it all works out.
Ragadolf |

Not a worry at all. Sometimes we are on a roll and the PC's do all the work for you, and sometimes it's just time to turn the page and go to the next scene! ;P
SInce I don't DO rutabaga. (At least I don't recall ever having rutabega'd)
Sounds to me like you just need to add Rice and dinner is served! ;)
(Yes, me and my family seem to have a religious addiction to starches. Seems like we just can't call dinner complete without a starch. Pasta, rice, SOMEthing!) ;P
Ragadolf |
First I recover from my 9 hour straight drive, THEN I recover from the drinking I intend to catch up on! (no drinking at my mothers house, sadly) ;P
THEN I catch up with posts! :D
(Um, maybe after I go to work. University is closed, But I still have to go in. MAN I miss hourly!) :P
Oh yeah,...
Happy New Year! ;)
Ensis Spirius Corax |
Ensis will clean and sharpen his blade -- did we decide what we're doing with the loot -- if we do some selling, then a spot of shopping may be useful, but without new coins, it would be much more of a window-shopping trip.
Ragadolf |
That works too! :)
I guess what we need to decide real quick is, was there anything that we can sell off in the 'loot', and what do we buy with the coins?
I'm guessing that healing is going to be a priority for a couple of levels? ;)
I'm just guessing our priorities for potions and what-not
1- Healing,
2- Buffs (so maybe we need LESS healing?)
Yeah, can't wait until I can share my infusions. ;P
