Mogmurch dives headfirst into the Rusty Earbiter. Me not afraid!
Mogmurch pops through the razor wire of the Rusty Earbiter at an astonishing pace. There is much applause.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 73d4 - 6 ⇒ (3, 3, 2) - 6 = 2
Reta dives in and starts making her way but quickly becomes stuck.
- very shortly thereafter there is much BOOOOO! and Goblins throw rocks and left over food to express what they think of watching a trapped Goblin. She suffers some cuts and bruises but is stuck solidly in the wire.
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 91d4 - 2 ⇒ (2) - 2 = 0
Chuffy is likewise unexpectedly caught - just as he thinks it is safe, Reta moves and the contraption shifts and he gets stuck again. More rocks and food follow.
With the two Goblins stuck fast the crowd gets bored and moves on - however for the pair in the wire, the good news is there is no shortage of food.
Mogmurch is brought once more before the Chief "You beat the Biter! You can borrow my Very Useful Robe That Is Useful!"
This is a robe of useful items that has only four patches left—a ladder, a three-legged turtle, a horseshoe, and a bullhorn.
***
Sunrise sees Poog still all slugged out and feeling ill.
Reta and Chuffy have recovered from their wounds but swear vengeance on the contraption.
Once more you are taken to the Chief.
"Now you go get fireworks and bring them here to me.” he informs you - but you are also handed a big bag of Scribblefaces fireworks to 'help' you on your quest...
2 Desnan candles, 4 paper candles, and a skyrocket.
***
The journey to the fireworks stash, as indicated on the map, is relatively short—a slog not quite a mile-long through the swamp along the creek’s southern bank.
The marsh itself is relatively difficult to navigate, with numerous
stretches of deep water that must be skirted and thick tangles of stinging nettles.
The journey should only take an hour to make.
General marching order/plans?

GM Shifty |
Well... you drag the body of the giant spider behind you all as some kind of lucky charm...
A two-masted ship lies mired in the mud in this clearing, its rigging thick with moss and decorated with lanterns and windchimes made from goblin skulls and bones.
Strange writing is faintly visible along the ship’s prow, while the soggy, swampy “yard” that surrounds the wreck is encircled by a rickety wooden fence. A thin curl of smoke wafts up from a chimney that protrudes from an unusual box-like structure near the ship's bow.
You are on the map, the gate to the place hangs open in the wind, determine order of march and your general approach :)
Mogmurch Lord of Flames |
Same marching order for me. Mogmurch shall follow from the back.
mogmurch tromps through the mud without a care in the world. How is fire supposed to burn in this?
Poog of Zarongeι |

/combat over.
The dog keeps barking somewhere up in that funny house!
If going up, what way are you taking? Gangplank? Doing something funky with trees? Climbing the side?
Reta Biggbad |
Reta shout while yanking dogslicer out of horse
Chuffy take Chief's magic climbing ring and climb tree! See what in ugly house!!
Mogmurch Lord of Flames |
Mogmurch gets unstuck from the mud as he clamors over the gate. His mouth drops open. You find dead horse. You guys good trackers!
GM Shifty |
Reta climbs the tree to look at the ugly house!
Reta notes the following..
-The main deck.
The main deck of the shipwreck is cluttered with objects both natural and artificial. Thick swaths of leafy vines grow over the deck, and shiny green patches of algae and moss grow where the vines do not. The central cabin's roof has a wide edge, creating a canopied walkway along the ship's sides. A flight of steps up to the roof of the ship's main cabin, the entrance to which is blocked by a door decorated by a large number of rodent and bird skulls. A smoking stovepipe chimney extends up from the ship's highest point above.
-The rigging.
Two rickety wooden platforms—crow’s nests—sit on the masts, ten feet above the ship’s deck below. Each is linked by a pair of thick ropes, and additional ropes hang down from the platform on the stern-most mast to the deck.
***
Mogmurch makes his way to the gangplank.
A vine-choked gangplank with a mossy handrail descends sharply from the ship’s bow to the muddy ground below. One handrail seems to be encrusted with a large ball of dried mud.
Know Nature 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
Mogmurch knows that the mud ball is actually a nest of nasty biting WASPS!
He pauses to think...
Chuffy Lickwound, The Rogue |
Chuffy sneaks up the gangplank with Mogmurch.
Stealth: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (20) + 16 = 36 Chuffy disappears into the shadows as if he was never there....
When he sees the ball of mud, he doesn't know what it is. He stabs things! He doesn't remember things!
Chuffy tries to sneak past the ball of mud, sneaking into the broken ship.
GM Shifty |
Mogmurch lumbers up the gangplank, and then realises the ball of mud is a trap! It breaks loose and Momurch tries to catch it before it smashes open
Reflex 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
He catches it beautifully and prevents it from shattering - but is getting stung at by the odd angry wasp.
***
Poog gets up on the main deck!
There is a door, a ladder and a mast...
