Ailetha Aurcalam |
Ailetha looks to the others.
Trolls are pretty simple. Hit them hard and take them down. Probably not that hard to hit. The problem is that they tend to heal pretty quick unless injured with acid or fire. Also, if they get both their disgusting claws on you, they can really hurt.
She looks around.
Anyone buy anything that burns?
Sable has 2x Burning Hands and 2x Burning Gaze, I assume he will use those once each troll goes down to make sure that they do not get back up.
Ailetha Aurcalam |
Ailetha nods:
Yup. Hit them hard. Focus on 1 at a time, and then all switch together. We stick together to minimize how many can hit us and avoid flanking. I will try to set up Bree to get some poking in with her knives.
Bree Longfield |
Bree's eyes narrow slightly and her eyebrow twitches at the other woman's continued attempts to orchestrate Bree's own actions in battle. It makes her uneasy, but she remains silent and instead turns her attention to Kabal taking in his movements. Prepared to follow his lead. If Ailetha's plans turn out to be the best in that moment, then she will take heed.

Round 1
Knowing that she cannot reach the trolls at this point, Ailetha moves forward and then changes her song slightly causing points specs of shiny dust to fall upon the foremost two trolls.
Move 30'
Cast Glitterdust - targeted at the front two trolls, Red and Orange. If she can also catch Yellow in the area of effect, she will.
Cast Glitterdust - DC18 Will or blind
Bree Longfield |
Sable takes flight and moves forward, hovering above the ledge of the wall he turns his burning gaze upon the closest troll. Red troll. How high up and wide is that ledge?
Fort save DC16
Damage 1d6 ⇒ 3
If fort save missed, reflexes required to not catch fire.
Bree moves next to the wall behind Karlan. If it is something she can climb up on and is wide enough to provide relative safety she will attempt to do so.
Climb 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (11) + 13 = 24
If it is too tall, or too narrow, she instead waits there for the others to move forward.
GM Shifty |
The outer edge is about 4-5 feet high, but closer inspection reveals that it is particularly nasty, slippery, and treacherous. The surface you are on already is slick and uncertain under foot. The good news is that if you fall north you only end up in the lake, fall south and it is several hundred feet down. Don't let me talk you out of it though :)
Bree Longfield |
Trying to ascertain the DC for those acrobatics checks, not sure what all mods I'll be needing to apply. Are you going with the +2 for slightly slippery, or the +5 for severely slippery? The height is 4-5 feet, but what about the width? If that climb check was good enough to get her up there, though, we'll go for it.
Karlan Bladetwist |
Karlan will move forward and ready an action to pop the first troll that comes within reach.
1d20 + 15 + 3 - 3 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 15 + 3 - 3 + 2 = 29 Attack

Round 2
Seeing Karlan beginning to be engaged by the monsters, Ailetha steps forward, her rapier jabbing high to distract the creature before pulling back and making a second jab directly at the creature's gut.
5-foot step forward
Move: Greater Feint
Feint(Bluff): 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (15) + 18 = 33 <-- if greater than 10+BAB+Wis (or Sense Motive) then denied dex bonus until Alietha's next turn (or fun for Bree's knives)
Attack-rapier(adamantine): 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 10 + 2 = 13
Damage: 1d6 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 2 = 10
While the distracting attack is quite effective, the follow up is well wide of its mark.
Bree, hit him while he is confused.

Round 1
Celestra's spiritual weapon continues to attack the same (orange?) troll that it started on.

Meanwhile, Celestra casts Bless on her companions.

Taking the attack like a champ Karlan steps back and swings hard with the Bardiche at the orange one as his own wounds regenerate.

Kabal, I can't help but lmao at your use of parley after having reread the old thread and being reminded of Kabal's reaction to hearing the word the first time :D
Sable should be able to post for himself now.
Sable Eboncrow |
Seeing the wounds close on the trolls, Sable lowers his staff of dark flame to launch a fireball past them. Aiming past the trolls to not catch Bree in the explosion.

GM Shifty |
With that much crunch going in, and that number of hits...
The trolls, too blind to the danger facing them, get absolutely pulverised as the party rolls through them.
With the threat gone, and the last two Ogres already having made significant distance swimming away through the Deep, the party pushes onwards past the double doors and into the dam tower.
Piles of rubble dominate this large room, along with bits of flesh, broken weapons, splashes of blood, and a few dead ogres that have been torn limb from limb. Wind and rain howl through circular openings to the north that look out over the Storval Deep, and puddles of water have collected on the floor.
Thick sheets of ropy green fungus grow along the walls here, winding in through the windows and through numerous cracks in the domed ceiling thirty feet above; behind the fungal vines, the walls are decorated with hundreds of skull-shaped carvings.
A quick search of the adjoining rooms reveals two rooms The walls of this room also thick with green ropy fungus that hangs down over several windows, almost like curtains. Several large nests made of the stuff cover the floor.
More persistent checking of the room turns up quite haul of gold and gems.
Other rooms are;
I assumed standard routine of checking thouroghly and using a range of detects
A storeroom:
This room is nearly clogged with thick coils of the strange, vinelike fungal growths, transforming the chamber into a miniature jungle that reeks of damp mold and rot. nothing of value, just spoiled goods long ago perished.
A semi collapsed room:
The southeastern section of this ancient room has collapsed away, leaving a treacherous-looking gap in the wall overlooking the lake far below.
An Observation Deck:
Three round windows in this room look out over the southern view from Skull's Crossing. Additional skull carvings decorate the walls, ceiling, and even the floor.
In the middle of the north wall stand massive stone double doors, their smooth surfaces smeared with graffiti written in dried blood.
"BELOW DWELLS WET PAPA GRAZUUL! ALL HAIL WET PAPA GRAZUUL!"
Celestra Zomesco |
"Nicely done, my friends. I'm glad to see the trolls vanquished. If any of you need healing, please let me know. I'm happy to help ease your pain as much as possible. So shall we descend and look for this Papa Grazuul?"
Ailetha Aurcalam |
Ailetha shrugs:
I have used a few of my more powerful spells, but still have two more, and a lot of lesser spells as well as my songs.
If we keep moving now, we may be able to catch whoever, or whatever, is here by surprise.
Celestra Zomesco |
"I am fine with moving on. However, if you are ready for a rest let me know. I could use an hour or so to prepare some of my last spells for the day."
I still have plenty of spells left, but I also purposely left some slots empty. If you want, I could prepare water breathing or some other such spell.
Sable Eboncrow |
"If we nest, Grazuul, whoever or whatever he is, has more time to learn of what has transpired, and to prepare for our arrival. I suggest we take a respite to gather ourselves and fly onward while we have our advantage."
