(Male Human Rogue (2) Fighter (1))

Strange, I posted last night and it isn't here. I was going to throw my lighted dagger up in the loft...but maybe I never hit post on my phone? It was acting weird.

Hmmm how does taking ten work with this unluck aura? Is it basically not allowed or is the basic assumption of operating at "average" ability removing luck therefore allowing the mechanic to still function? Because if I can take ten I will climb the ladder. If not...I probably won't ;-)

Faelar and Amir make their way to the ladder while Kzrira keeps her bow ready for a shot at anything that appears in the clutter over head. Faelar's inspection finds that though the ladder looks somewhat treacherous, it is still sound and can be safely climbed.

Above, in the balcony there is a growl and a squeak as a tattered pugwampi is thrown from the balcony and into the rubble below. Next comes the sound of claws scrambling and something falling. Following is a loud yell in a voice somewhat deeper that the average pug and a yelp of pain from the heavenly dog.
Amir- did I get your fort save vs. Dhabba spittle last round?

Round 7.
Pugnacious fey x
Faelar
Amir
Karethas
Kzrira

I grab hold of the ladder, look up and and try to climb it.

Perception : 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Climb : 1d20 ⇒ 17
Climb : 1d20 ⇒ 11

Faelar easily climbs the ladder and pokes his head through the trapdoor to see an interesting sight. The gleaming white dog [I picture a terrier thrashing the pugwampis : )] scrambles to its feet before a hulking (if that term could apply to a gremlin) obese pug with a big hammer. Another pugwampi stands clear of the combat and four others are dozing among the benches.

we're @ Amir

How close are the benches, to the hole in the floor?

(Male Human Wizard (Conjurer)/ 3)

Karethas waits for the others to ascend and then climbs the ladder quickly. He moves towards the back of the balcony and, if there is enough time, casts Daze at the large (sort of) pugwampi.

Karethas will wait until last to go up the stairs. If climb checks are necessary: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (5) - 1 = 41d20 - 1 ⇒ (7) - 1 = 6 Lol. I like the idea of two little dog creatures fighting it out too.

(Male Human Rogue (2) Fighter (1))

No I think my last Fort save got eaten in my mysteriously disappearing post.

Fort Save 1;2 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11

1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Wow this f&~~ing blows.

Climb 1;2 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16

1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18

Amir, despite becoming more and more ill, will climb the ladder and move away so that others can climb. (I assume that is the extent of my actions this round.)

(Female Human Fighter/2, Ranger/1)

If I cannot see any targets, then I will follow up. As soon as I see the super-pug, I will start firing at it.

Whenever I get a chance to shoot - aiming for the big pug or whatever I see first:

Attack1: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

Second Attack Roll I forgot: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

There will be a slight back-up on the ladder as it takes a full round to climb.

Amir follows behind Faelar although his coordination is off as his enire body grows numb from the vile dhabba venom. Kzrira waits until the rickety ladder is cleared before adding more weight to it.

Falear sees the glowing terrier leap upon the fat pugwampi chief and tears at it although the gremlin proves astonishingly resilient. The big pug swings the hammer and crushes the holy hound's shoulder as the strange canines circle each other.
Karethas- you can take over the rolls now that the fight has observers.

The other pugwampi squeaks at the sight of Faelar on the way up and gives a hex sign which causes the ladder to suddenly feel slippery.
Faeler- Ref save DC 10 (x2). You are about 10 feet from the action[/ooc]

Sorry Amir- another DC 12 fort save or 4 Dex damage.

Round 8.
Pugnacious fey x
Faelar
Amir
Karethas
Kzrira

Reflex : 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Reflex : 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

I will move towards the big Pugwampis that is fighting the radiant hound and try to pierce my Rapier through its chest. (Drawing while I move)

Rapier Attack : 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Rapier Attack : 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Rapier Critical Confirmation : 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22

Rapier Damage : 1d6 ⇒ 2
Rapier Critical Damage : 1d6 ⇒ 3

Oh :( Good Attack rolls, but terrible damage rolls. Well at least they aren't any worse. Could we have a map please Voodoo?

"Amir, seeing as you look a bit unsteady on your feet, would you like to push those sleeping Pugwampi off of the benches and down the hole? Hopefully the fall will kill the little fey."

(Female Human Fighter/2, Ranger/1)

How long will they be asleep? I can just put a bolt into each one of them and probably do a lot more damage.

Let me know when I am up there and able to shoot SuperPug. Also, whether I need any saves.

(Male Human Rogue (2) Fighter (1))

*Sigh* Fort 1;2 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16

1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15 Holy s%~#, I didn't fail!

If pugwampi are asleep and Amir can get to them, he will do as Faelar suggests to clear the field, if Pugwampitron is in the way, Amir will move forward and take a swing at it.

Attacks if appropriate: 1;2 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13

Damage. 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

(Male Human Wizard (Conjurer)/ 3)

Karethas waits patiently at the bottom of the ladder, letting the others do the fighting for him for now.

The celestial dog growls as deeply as it's little vocal cords allow as it lunges at the largish pugwampi.

Swift Action: Smite Evil (+2 to damage)
Bite Attack: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 3 + 1 = 24
Damage 1d6 + 3 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 1 + 2 = 7
Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 3 + 1 = 23
Crit Damage: 1d6 + 3 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 1 + 2 = 7
Good time for a 20!

(Female Human Fighter/2, Ranger/1)

You need to roll the attack twice. Although I suppose that the Crit confirm/second d20 would really be your second attack roll.

Hold off on tossing them over the railing. You might wake them up and if they do not die, then we will just have more annoyed unlucky dogs to chase down. I would rather we put down this FatPug and then I can execute them one by one. You would be better giving Faelar and the puppy some flanking.

(Male Human Rogue (2) Fighter (1))

Which I will do if I can get around the Pugwampitron ;-p

(Female Human Fighter/2, Ranger/1)

I think we should refer to him as the Puginator.

The nimble elf keeps his footing and leaps through the trapdoor to enter the fray and strikes the Pug King. Faelar- you need a 2nd rool for the crit threat. Feeling like Abaddon but knowing the poison has wrought its worse, Amir attempts to follow behind Faelar.
also need 2 DC 10 ref saves.

The little white dog though mortally wounded, collects itself and grabs the fat pugwampis throat. ouch. Curse you Karethas and your little dog, TOO! remember to roll for the trip.

Kzrira delivers a death blow to the sleeping dhabba.
unless you object. They will be under a couple minutes, but you really don't want to risk that venom again. It's pretty harsh.

I'll start the next round after holy "terrier's" trip result.

(Male Human Wizard (Conjurer)/ 3)

Trip: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 1 = 7
Toto, the wonder dog!

The Pug King staggers back under the radiant terrier's assault, but manages to keep his footing and hit the celestial creature hard with the hammer sending it back to its home plane in a flash of light.

The other pugwampi kicks a mate trying to rouse it to the battle in the balcony.

Round 9.
Pugnacious fey x
Faelar
Amir
Karethas
Kzrira

(Female Human Fighter/2, Ranger/1)

Round 9
I assume I am up on the balcony, but am unsure where I have moved at this point.

Don't let him wake up the others.

I reload my crossbow and fire at the SuperPug.

Attack 1:1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 6 + 1 = 22
Attack 2:1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 6 + 1 = 26

Damage: 1d8 + 1 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 + 2 + 1 = 11

Critical Threat Confirmation : 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

I try to plunge my Rapier into the Pugwampis King's chest, hoping to deal a fatal blow this time.

Rapier Attack : 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 (+2 if I am flanking with anyone.)

(I won't roll a second attack, as I am pretty sure that didn't hit.)

OK, to be clear:
Faelar and the biggie puggie duel on the balcony.
Amir was climbing the ladder, but needed a DC10 Ref save. I'll just use his attack rolls from last round and he barely made it.
Kzrira is on the ladder this round and made the saves with her attack rolls.
So I need an action from Amir this round and Karethas will need 2 DC 10 ref saves to come up to the balcony if he wants.
I'll make a map tonight if needed.

(Male Human Rogue (2) Fighter (1))

Amir moves to the Pug King and attacks.

Attack 1;2 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12

Amir will motion to Faelar to move into a better position. Lets flank this thing.

Faelar nicks the fat pug with his blade, but it doesn't draw blood. Amir stumbles on a loose board just as he is about to strike and his attack is spoiled. Kzrira reaches the balcony right behind Amir.

The little king howls as the odds turn against him and his hammer hits the floor boards instead of Faelar. The other pugs work on waking their companions.

Need Karethas' action, but on to

yellow-sleeping, green-awake, purple-king

(Female Human Fighter/2, Ranger/1)

Faelar or Karethas, if one of you have another of those nap nap spells, now would be a good time rather than letting them all get woken back up.

I shoot the pug attempting to awaken its friends.

Attack 1: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 6 + 1 = 20
Attack 2: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 6 + 1 = 21
Damage: 1d8 + 1 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 + 2 + 1 = 10

You ninjaed me with the map - I shot D4.

Seeing that the Pugwampis King has dropped his hammer and the other Pugwampi are trying to wake the others, I change target and thrust my Rapier at one of the awake Pugwampis. (The one at D4)

Rapier Attack : 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Rapier Attack : 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Rapier Damage : 1d6 ⇒ 4

"I am not in the best position for that, Karethas would be a better bet at this point in time. Sorry."

sorry for the confusing post. I meant that he missed Faelar and struck the floor with the hammer instead. He's not surrendering.
Kzrira's hit will kill D-4 so Faelar should go after someone else.

(Male Human Wizard (Conjurer)/ 3)

Round 9 REF to climb ladder: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Nope
Round 10 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Nope

Karethas watches as Kzrira climb the ladder and then tries to do so himself. He swears loudly as he almost immediately slips off the ladder. "I would cast another spell, if I could get up there!" He tries again, but again falls.

In that case, I will 5 foot step, beside the Pugwampis king (D2) to square and attack the Pugwampis behind him (C3).

(Male Human Rogue (2) Fighter (1))

Amir attempts to throw the Puwampi King off guard.

Feint - Bluff 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Attack 1;2 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

damage; SA is applicable 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

1d6 ⇒ 2

5 foot step to E3. Switch!

Faelar steps around the King to slash at one of the nuisances behind him. The grotesque pup is cut, but shrugs off most of the damage to cackle at the elf. Amir feints and the Pug King falls for it, but unfortunately Amir overextends and strikes at an awkward angle that fails to injure the fat chief.

Kzrira fires her bolt right through another pug as it stands up and launches it over the balcony to the floor below. Karethas makes it halfway up the ladder before slipping and joining the dead pugs littering the floor of the sanctuary as he lands painfully on his back.
Karethas-5 damage from the fall.

The king swings his hammer for Faelar's knee caps, but misses again as the nimble elf dances aside. The standing pugs rush to assist their king and Faelar receives a jab in the thigh from one of the nasty gremlins. Faelar-1 nonlethal

Round 11

Great work all. Don't let them awaken those sleeping ones. Only 4 awake standing to go.

Reload and fire at D4.

Attack1-Crossbow:1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 6 + 1 = 26
Attack2-Crossbow:1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 6 + 1 = 23

Damage: 1d8 + 1 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 + 2 + 1 = 12 --> Booya - I will take that set of rolls any day. Too bad there is no crit.

I lunge at the Pugwampis in front of me with my Rapier, hoping to deliver a fatal wound to it. (The Pugwampis in C2)

Rapier Attack : 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Rapier Attack : 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Rapier Damage : 1d6 ⇒ 2

Fairly decent Attacks rolls, but terrible Damage roll. Isn't that always the way?!

(Male Human Wizard (Conjurer)/ 3)

Karethas stands, rubbing his tailbone. "This is absurd! I hate these foul little creatures!" He grabs the ladder with renewed determination.

Climb Check: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (19) - 1 = 18 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (7) - 1 = 6
lol!

Faelar lunges at the pug minion, but it proves oddly resistant to his steel and he fails to draw blood. Unluck be damned, Kzrira blasts the head off another pugwampi. Meanwhile, Karethas gets back up on that ladder. This time he nearly reaches the top when his feet slip out from underneath him leaving him dangling from the top rung.

waiting on Amir.

Alright. Pushing along.

Seeing an opening to flank after Kzrira kills another pug, Amir shifts to flank the king and attacks...

attack 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 3 + 2 = 14
attack 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 2 = 6

and nearly trips on the dead pug at his feet. The king shreiks and lets Amir have it in the shin. While his minion jabs Faelar another time. Amir to D-4, -2 hp damage, Faelar-1 nonlethal.

Round 12
Pugnacious fey x
Faelar
Amir

Kzrira

(Female Human Fighter/2, Ranger/1)

Great job shutting down those nappers Amir. Time to say night night SuperPug.

Move - reload.
Shoot at King Pug.

Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 6 + 1 = 8
Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 6 + 1 = 11
Damage: 1d8 + 1 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 + 2 + 1 = 6

Alas her unluck avoidance fails her and Kzrira's crossbow fires early with the bolt barely missing Amir and striking the already dead pug at this feet.

Seeing that Amir has positioned the Pugwampis King between myself and him, I spin to change my target. Hoping to hit the king with the momentum of the spin.

Rapier Attack : 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Rapier Attack : 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16

Alas as he was not focusing properly his blade streaked through the air just above the Pugwampis Kings head.

(Male Human Wizard (Conjurer)/ 3)

Karethas hangs upside down for a moment, staring down at his hat on the floor below. This is just humiliating. Finally, he starts to try to work his way out of his predicament. "That's fine, I don't need any help here," he calls out to his companions. He carefully pulls himself up until he is finally standing on the balcony. He straightens his disheveled robes and smooths his hat matted hair. "That's right, the Almighty Karethas has arrived! Quake in your boots you little pests!"

Reflex Saves: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11 YAY!!!

(Male Human Rogue (2) Fighter (1))

Amir sways on his feet, desperate to keep the wounds, unlock and poisons take him down, again he attempts to attack his foe.

attack 1;2 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 3 + 2 = 14

1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 2 = 8 Damn!

The fat pug sniggers as everyone fumbles their attacks on him due to his aura of misfortune then he nearly drops his own hammer with an awkward swing. His minions strike back, one breaks his rusty little knife on Faelar's boot and the other steps back to grease Kzrira's bow. Kzrira- Reflex DC 10 or drop bow.

Round 13

Reflex Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Reflex Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

Managing to hold onto the crossbow, I reload and fire again at the annoying pug who tried to grease me.

Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 6 + 1 = 14
Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 6 + 1 = 22
Damage: 1d8 + 1 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 + 2 + 1 = 9

Pug pug, I hate you. Now you die and turn blue.

Seeing and hearing the Pugwampis King snigger at us and try to impale it with my Rapier.

Rapier Attack : 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
Rapier Attack : 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Rapier Damage : 1d6 ⇒ 6

"Finally, success! Have at thee you malicious, sniggering ... ugly ... person? Hmm, I think I need some practice at this combat banter." I seemed to be struggling to be nasty towards this creature.

(Male Human Wizard (Conjurer)/ 3)

Karethas grins widely as he positions himself while chanting. He flings his hand, fingers splayed, out towards the ugly little fey and a blinding spray of light leaps out at them. This better end this.

I'm not sure of the positioning, but I'm hoping to angle the spray to hit all of the pugs still within 15ft.
5ft Step: to F4.
Standard: Cast Color Spray (DC 15)

(Male Human Rogue (2) Fighter (1))

I'll be damned if I die by the hands of these stinking cretins!

Amir keeps himself flanking with Faelar working on the Pug King with his sword.

Attack 1;2

1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 3 + 2 = 7

1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 3 + 2 = 23
DAMMIT!

Faelar lands a solid blow on the king who looks to be tiring quickly. Amir continues to fight clumsily still numb from the dhabba spittle. Karethas casts a spell between his allies and a scintillating rainbow fans over the hideous gremlins as Kzrira, unfazed by ill luck, kills another pug with a skillful crossbow shot.
Karthas- gonna need 2 caster level checks versus spell resistance.

(Male Human Wizard (Conjurer)/ 3)

Caster Level Check vs. SR: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Truly stellar roles. Makes me wish I was an elf :-)

The tiny fey prove resistant to Karethas' spell and the king takes the opportunity to drive his hammer into Amir's other shin while his minion frowns at its broken dagger and carefully backs away from the dancing elf. Amir-4 hp bludg. I think that leaves you at Dex 10 and 0 hp. ouchie.

Round 14
Pugnacious fey (2 sleepers, king and minion left) x
Faelar
Amir
Karethas
Kzrira

(Male Human Rogue (2) Fighter (1))

You are correct Voodoo.

Amir sways listlessly on his feet, the world moving slowly. The various strikes to his legs making his feet feel heavy and his ears ring as his mind tries to slip away from him. On the verge of passing out Amir presses his body for one last harried assault on the Pug King.

Attack 1 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 + 2 = 22
Attack 2 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 + 2 = 13

Close but no cigar. Like a punch drunk boxer I don't imagine Amir trying to run (and just get shot or hit) and I don't imagine him thinking "I will just stand here and grant a bonus to my comrades flanking bonus".

-1 HP and counting.

EDIT:I guess Faelar might kill the pug king if he gets lucky? In that case Amir will stand still stunned at 0, like I said, punch drunjk ;-)
