For consideration: Craes Oakbough

Background:

Craes was born in Southern Kyonin, and grew up in a traditional Elven society unlike anything most Golarion's have experienced. As he was allowed to choose his training, he migrated towards the wilderness, and protecting others of his kind from the terrors now common near the Tanglebriar. His unusual choices of specializations meant that he was not always the first choice for many missions, because despite the utiity of his skills, they weren't always what everyone expected from him. It didn't take long for this treatment to get him looking for somewhere or something else to do with himself where he could contribute with less resistance from his fellows. Fortune smiled upon him as he stumbled (in Greengold) upon a recruiter looking for young elves willing to join the Pathfinder Society. A quick discussion convinced them both that Craes' chosen skill set would serve the Society well, and he agreed to join the Pathfinders as a way of exploring other options. After all, an Elf has many, many years to gather information and consider such decisions.

He has been sent to the lodge in Magnimar because of a call for assistance. Nobody is quite sure what to expect, but, that is part of being a Pathfinder, right?

Personality:

Craes is relatively easy going, cautiously friendly, and patient. He expects other Pathfinders to be both capable and responsible for themselves. He tends to assume that he is the expert in his areas of training, and frequently just goes to handle issues which he thinks should be his as a result. Some have interpreted his behavior as cold, uncaring, judgemental and even mean. None of that is intentional, but that doesn't keep people from interpreting his behavior that way.

Mechanics Overview:

Elf (Silent Hunter Racial Trait)
Ranger (Guide & Trapper Archetypes)

S12/D19/C12/I12/W14/H10

Feat Point-Blank Shot

22 GP "change"

Class Features:

I can easily expand the above, but as I am a very late-comer to the party (as it were), I won't spend the time on more unless you request it. You have many quality applications already, and you don't have a NEED to spend much time on mine as a result.

Should we be taking a Pathfinder Society trait as one of our three traits?
In other words, one campaign, one pathfinder and one other?

You may take them if you wish, but it is not mandatory. It's 1 campaign trait + 2 other traits, which can be Pathfinder traits, but do not have to be.

Sczarni

And bada-bing, bada-boom! Marrali, the halfling rogue sniper, is ready for adventure! Full details on her profile page!

questions, comments, corrections, all welcomed, of course.

P.S. need more halfling avatars. sorely lacking in choices, lol.

Thanks, wasn't 100% sure.

Third trait added and rank in Dance moved to Survival. Originally, he was going to use the gladiator archetype and Performance combat rules, but it was so feat intensive, I abandoned it.

Dreaming Warforged's Application:

Bertholdt Escheus, Male Human Fighter (Lore Warden), looking at taking some levels in Sleepless Detective (could also be Pathfinder Delver, but we'll see).

Still a few kinks to fix, most notably, equipment.

I'm afraid I have to bow out of the running on this one... Sigh... Real life invading.

Thanks for taking time to consider!

Hey DM Bound Shade: I'm still here and is following along.

Checking in.

Still here

Lantern Lodge

Took a little longer than anticipated, but here is Iliria Telestra, Idyllkin Aasimar Druid of Halfling stock (so small).

For her animal companion I chose a Giant Fox, which is a refluffed wolf in order to make it match with her Vulpinal ancestry (further solidified by her feat being Celestial Servant)

Background:

Iliria came into the world as part of a pair of twins, but where he brother was completely normal Iliria was born with a blonde fox tail and a layer of downy fur covering her entire body. Her eyes were yellowish like a fox and, as her mother discovered when she tried feeding her, she was born with pronounced canines in both jaws. At first her family though her possessed of some wicked entity and only through the cards of the troupe elder was it revealed that she in fact traced her lineage to the heavens instead of the pits below.

The troupe Iliria was born into was a curious, a mix of both Varisian humans and halflings, sharing all but blood. the children grew up together and despite Iliria's strange features she was rarely picked upon by anyone other than her twin brother. Soon it became very obvious that while the difference wasn't large, Iliria matured at a slightly lower rate than the other children. By the time her brother welcomed his first-born into the world Iliria was full in puberty, even though she already was 23.

It was then that the spiritual parts of her heritage started surfacing. She'd leave the troupe for days on end, stalking the grasslands and forests on her own before suddenly reappearing even after the troupe had moved on. She'd come back with stories of the beauty of the land and the lives of all the creatures that called it home. She soon found that her little nephews and nieces and all the other children were the most welcoming to her stories and they became her audience. They were often the first to see her when she came walking out of the wilds.

This went on for years on end and Iliria saw all the children that had sat on her knee while she told stories grow up and bring their own children to her in turn. In time, due to the death of her parents and her prolonged absence, she started to feel like a stranger within her own troupe and left not to return till many years later.

During the years on her own Iliria spent many hours in meditation, trying to make contact with both her celestial ancestry and Desna, who the elders always claimed guided their hands. In her prayers she asked for guidance, for a sign as to her place in the world, but never seemed to get any answers. After years of attempts to find guidance she started to think the lack of answers might be the actual answer, but swiftly dismissed the notion.

It wasn't until the first full moon after her 90th birthday that what seemed like an answer came to her. She was stalking the plains in search of food under the full moon when suddenly a giant, bright red fox appeared from the high grass. Assuming it was out hunting like she was Iliria ducked in an attempt to hide, but the beast came straight for her. Even when she obscured the area with a thick fog the animal found her, but instead of attacking it dove under her and swept her on it's back. Holding on was all Iliria could do as the creature sped of in unknown direction.

It wasn't until the next morning that Iliria saw the destination of their travel: the caravan of her old troupe. The wagons were all positioned in a circle which made clear they had made camp, but it was too late in the day to not be travelling, and there was a column of black smoke coming of of the center, to thick for a campfire. She moved into the circle to find the entire troupe standing around a large pyre. Next to the pyre stood a very old lady, she held hands with an younger, but still old, man who in turn held hands with more people, eventually forming a chain of both humans and halflings around the pyre. The rest of the troupe stood behind them. Only when she moved closer to the inner circle did Iliria recognise the old lady: It was her brother's wife. She called out to her and while the old woman at first gave her an angry look for disturbing the ceremony her face broke when she saw it was Iliria. She turned and broke with the others, rushing to Iliria as fast as her old legs could carry her. Iliria rushed towards her and held her for what seemed like ages. She told Iliria her brother had passed on to the next life the night before and together they finished the ceremony.

After that day Iliria and the fox, which she had named Veyren after her brother, stayed with the troupe for several weeks. She talked with her brother's widow and with his children, who had already become grandparents in their own right. There were feasts, both to celebrate her brothers move to the next world and to celebrate her return. Her youthly appearance the subject of many conversations and many of the younger people who didn't know her from before didn't actually believe her. After the weeks had passed Iliria once more said her goodbyes to all of them, both sides realising they probably would not see each other again in this life.

Iliria led the fox lead her during her travels in the following days and he led her to the grand city of Magnimar. Once inside the gates he in turn led her to the Pathfinder lodge there. Knowing the pathfinder's reputation from the stories she heard as a child she decided to enter the lodge and attempt to join the pathfinders. While the city itself wasn't much to her liking, the prospect of exploration and the chance of finding a goal reeled her in.

Appearance:

At first Iliria looks like a normal, young, halfling woman dressed in a white cloak. Only upon closer inspection do other, stranger features become visible, least of all her pointed ears which, while uncommon, are not unheard of among halflings. Stranger are her bright amber eyes and the prominent canines in both jaws that becomes visible when she smiles, something she does often. From under the back of her white cloak the tip of a blonde fox tail is visible, the color matching the fur on the top of her feet and the backs of her hands as well as the hair on her head. At her side she carries both a scimitar and a starknife, marking her as a follower of Desna.

Next to her stands an oversized red fox. Apart from the size there appears to be little out of the ordinary until one looks at it's bright, azure eyes.

Still here as well

Alright, so, I'm gonna close recruitment on Thursday night. That way, I'll have all of Friday to consider entries.

Well then I offer my services as Titian, a human Inquisitor of Cayden Cailean.

Spoiler:
Born to a family of innkeepers in the bazaar of sails district, he could sing bawdy drinking songs before he could speak and heard more glorious storys about riddles solved, monsters slain and princesses woed than he can count. One of his greatest childhood heroes was Bawdy Brian, a happy go lucky swashbuckler and firm believer in the drunken Hero. Whenever Bawdy Brian would go out to have an adventure, he brought back a little present to the little boy who always brought him a fresh tankard of ale the moment he entered the inn. But not all adventures end well and Bawdy Brian came back as a hollow shell. A stiff leg and without his right eye Bawdy Brian would sit for days in the inn, telling the same stories over and over again, drinking and falling deeper and deeper into depression. The young boy couldn´t understand why his hero wouldn´t sing and dance. That Titian himself would be the reason for Bawdy Brian to come out of his depression he wouldn´t have guessed. One day, while fetching food from the market, Titian saw a young girl bullied by the big ones of a local youth gang. The girl was in tears, but no one of the grown ups would interfere, so Titian tried to help. He returned that day without food and half dead. The next time he went to the market the big ones waited for him and beat him up again. And again. But after the third time when Titian saw them he was prepared. He ran away into an old alley not far from the inn. The big ones followed him and walked into a small pit filled with old pig grease. Titian would wait outside with a long stick and this time he beat them up. They tried to climb out but the grease made that incredibly hard for them. Then Titian grabbed a Jar almost to heavy for him to hold and said that it was filled with lamp oil. And if they didn´t cease to attack, the next time it wouldn´t be pig grease, but oil waiting for them and a torch.
Bawdy Brian saw this all and from that day on he tried to teach Titian all he could remember. Even with shacky hands and half blind he was a good teacher. When the time was right Bawdy Brian introduced him to the serpent run to challenge him and give him a first taste of real combat. But Titian grew bored fast and Bawdy Brian saw he was ready for real adventures. So he introduced him to an old friend in the pathfinder lodge.

It's more due to a perceived lack of time/interest by the DM/GM to run it.

And where does this perception come from? Surely the GM did not give any indication that they don't want to or not have the time to run it.

I perceive that this perception came from you. Your lack of patience is not the GM's fault.

25 PB, 3 trait and not asking much for background is a good way to get a lot of attention, showing up on an erratic shedule with no explanations doesn't help either.

I think that is a bit of a leap to say he has a lack of interest. Perhaps today he was simply just busy.

He hasn't posted since yesterday. Oh no, he left us![/sarcasm] Couldnt resist, sorry.

Just noticed this.

Please consider Bimbur.

Will add +2 str and the monument trait.

He believes the monuments are essential to harness ki and his quest for self perfection.

Lots of DM/GM with "attractive character creation" tend to lose interest quickly, (in my humble experiences)

The DM will choose Sjurd for this game.

Use 'Force Suggestion'.

Well as a current player of his, he picked up a S&S game and hasn't ditched us yet. So that should speak in his favor.

ps. getting attention isn't a bad thing when you want choices.

True.

Whew! A ton of posts today. Oooo... Duo posted here. Nice.

Sorry, the boards went down last night when I was going to post. I managed to get a post done for my S&S before passing out, but it left me tired and with little time in the morning. I've been recovering sleep since work ended today.

Lots of stuff to sort through. So, yes, I'm ending recruitment tonight, but it's more of a, "It's done when I wake up to tomorrow morning."

I'll generate a new list soon, but I'm hungry and need food, so I'll be fulfilling that need first.

Grand Lodge

I am interested if you can fit me in.
