Red Horn Es-Nordmir |
Round 4 Initiative 6
Red Horn grinned despite his anger at the sight of the blade. He jumped forwards and grabbed the man again, his horns arching to taste more of the clerics blood.
Grapple: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Armor Spikes if successful: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Secondary Attack w/Horns: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Damage w AS: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Damage w Horns: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Red Horn Es-Nordmir |
Red Horn stood slowly, warily wobbling a bit as he did. His demeanor looked like it hadn't changed as he looked the man in the eyes and then clapped a strong hand down on his shoulder. "It seems I was mistaken, I indeed must look like a calf in your eyes. I can tell you have more experience then your years give you." he said sternly though his features softened to some degree.
Talinthal Uth Mondor |
Indeed, my father is a Knight of the Rose and my brother pointing to the Sword knight is also a knight. I have grown up around swords my whole life. The sword is also the favored weapon of the Plantinum Father. While I could have used it before hand I chose to use the magic of the gods to try to calm you and to show you that not every foe you face will be as merficul and that you cannot win every fight. Your stubborness might get yourself or your companions killed.
Aminah Mikku |
Aminah Mikku watches the end of the contest and says, "It appears either way Red Horn is not the victor in this duel. The customs of duels is different than my own lands it appears. Still it is good to see the situation resolved. Now with this done I believe I will depart back to the temple of Paladine and give some prayers before winding down and getting some rest for the evening."
Shalafi2412 |
The next morning you are greeted at the inn by a Cleric wearing the robes of the Blue Phoenix, Habbakuk.
Greetings, I am Kiernan Uth Windor. The Revered Daughter of Paladine has bid me to accompany you to the Temple of Paladine. Shall we be on our way?
Red Horn Es-Nordmir |
Red Horn groans as he tries to shake off the sleepiness of the day. He always slept well when there was less blood in his body, he yawned and scratched at the fresh wounds. "Yes, let us see what this blind woman knows and wants. Though if I am asked to stay outside then I will" he said as he stepped outside into the open air.
Jakun Stormhoof |
"Chosen of Paladine then. My apologies Human Cleric, my people do not stand so much on ceremony. Well perhaps some do, but I was never one to do so!"
Shalafi2412 |
As you are ushered in the Temple of Paladine you are lead to the private quarters of the Revered Daughter of Paladine. Paladine's chosen smiles as you enter and welcomes you. You see a wizard dressed in White Robes standing close to the Revered Daughter as well as Revered Son Talinthal.
Greetings children of Paladine. The news that was brought to me this afternoon was indeed most grim. However, we cannot discuss what has taken place here in the Temple of Paladine. I have been contacted by the Head of the Wizards Conclave, Justarius of the Red Robes, as well as Sir Thomas, who is in charge of the High Clerist's Tower about these events. The Master of the Conclave has offered to allow us to meet at the Tower of High Sorcery in Wayreth, away from prying eyes and away from listening walls. Will you accompany me there? Tandar the White shall transport us there.
Quentus Otelleth |
"uuh, a wizard tower. Isn't this a honor then. To visit and stay for a moment in the Tofer of High SOrcery of Wayreth itself. Quentus is getting luckier with each passing day" Quentus chuckles
"So, what is so important that we are being transported there? Or we will find it out later"
Marantis Everoak |
Marantis nods to Crysania, and then realizes the futility of that action, "I am ready to get to the bottom of this." Now if only the cows would show even a modicum of respect for anyone or anything, or even any stubtlty we might get some support. But as the humans say 'Bull in a crystal shop'
Tallen "mittens" short horn |
bows his head respectfully to the revered daughter before listening to her plain. He nods too himself as he listens. Those watching him might notice the slight pained look in his eyes as he concentrates on the words

Aminah Mikku |
Aminah Mikku the previous night spent a good deal of time praying at the temple before heading to her inn room and resting for the night. The next day she wakes up, gives her prayers for spells, eats breakfast and then arrives with the rest of the party at the temple.
Aminah Mikku gives a respectful bow to Kiernan Uth Windor and says, "It is a pleasure to meet you Kiernan. I am Aminah Mikku of the Khur, priestess of the Draco Paladin. I am honored to accompany you to meet with the Revered Daughter Lady Crysania."
She goes into meet with lady Crysania and hears her proposal. She responds to her saying, "As you wish Lady Crysania. While I am confused of why we cannot speak of this in the church of Paladine I can understand the need for secrecy. I will certainly accompany you to the Tower of Wayreth and get to the bottom of what is going on with this incident."
Shalafi2412 |
Tandar, the wizard of the white robes, begins to chant in the spidery language of magic, Ast kintnonini lointun tszarteh he repeats a few times.
Lights flash before your eyes and you get the feeling of falling and being caught and then you find yourself in a huge room that has only one light in it. It shines on a chair where a Red Robed wizard sits, his cowl down.
Greetings, Revered Daughter Crysania. And greetings to you Sir Thomas of Thelgaard, Knight of the Rose. And to you, greetings, former Grand Master of the Knights of Solamnia, Gunthar Uth Winstan. And to you, I impart my greetings, Tanis Half-Elven and Caramon Majere. Welcome to the Tower of High Sorcery in Wayreth. Thank you for trusting the Wizards Conclave with this information of great import. As he says this the light brightens on each individually named person. You can see in the shadows, sitting on stone benches, wizards dressed in black, white and red robes. Their faces hidden from view with their hoods so that their identity cannot be discerned.
Red Horn Es-Nordmir |
Red Horn stood there quietly through the whole thing. He wasn't too thrilled with the fact that they were moving it to another location using magic and the fact that it was gonna be filled with wizards just make it all the more uncomfortable for him.
When they were transported to the tower, he instinctively backed himself against a tower wall so he could see all the potential threats without someone getting behind him. He knew it was silly, wizards could do things that he could only dream of so he knew that gave him no advantage but it calmed him all the same.
His eyes darted about trying to watch everyone at once.
Marantis Everoak |
Marantis settles on a seat somewhere, his bow and soris still within easy reach. He looks at the mages aligned around them and shakes his head with a wry smile. When he looks around and finds Tanis, he locks eyes with him in a look that simple says *how could you?*
Shalafi2412 |
Tanis Half-Elven speaks,
My Lords and Ladies. I have just recently returned from the Tower of the High Clerist with Caramon Majere and his nephew, Steel Brightblade Uth Matar. Steel is the son of both Sir Sturm Brightblade and the Dragon High Lord, Kitiara Uth Matar. My Lords and Ladies, he is a Knight of Takihsis.
There are murmors of disbelief and Sir Thomas says, Hogwash, Half-Elven, there is no such thing as a Knight of Takhisis. The followers of the Queen of Darkness are not that organized. And that does not explain why you and Caramon Majere defiled the body of Sturm Brightblade with his alleged son.
Tanis continues, We were taken to the headquarters of the Knights of Takhisis, to a place called Storm's Keep. The Knights are organizing there and they, like the Knights of Solamnia, have three orders. You see, their head, Ariakan, son of Ariakas and Zeboim, was trained at the Tower of the High Clerist in Solamnic ways after he was taken prisoner following the War of the Lance, twenty five years ago. At the closure of the War of the Lance, Solamnic Knights captured Ariakan. They imprisoned him for six years where he learnt all about the structure and organization of the knighthood. Ariakan also learned of the downfall of the Dragonarmies, "that evil turned in on itself". When he was released the goddess Takhisis visited him and he told her of what he learned and his plans for a new knighthood, she promptly agreed.
They have among their Order the knights of the Lily, who are unholy paladins. They also have the Knights of the Skull, they are clerics of the Dark Queen and they have among their ranks, the Knights of the Thorn, mages who draw their power from all three of the Moons.
At this news the Tower Mages erupt in confusion, and anger. With a look Justarius and the other heads of the Orders, Dunbar Mastermate and Dalamar the Dark rise. This is unheard of, an entire Order of renengades is operating in Ansalon? The Half-Elf continues, Yes, my Lords, and they even have built a Tower of High Sorcery on Storm's Keep. The outrage from the Towers mages is palabable.
Red Horn Es-Nordmir |
Red Horn listened to the news with not to heavy attention, though when the enemies orders were revealed he listened with wrapped attention. He would have to find out more about them as the information could only help with killing them. He really enjoyed seeing the mage squirm and enrage, a genuine smile spreading across his face.
Quentus Otelleth |
Laughing now and wiping tears out from his eyes "ahaha, Quentus didnt have so much fun since a long time. All these wizards going crazy because of "renegades" ahah. What a time to be alive. They can even perform magic it seems even without being members of this society. Top on that they are even gaining favor from Queen of Darkness" chuckling and enjoying the rage on the faces of wizards
Aminah Mikku |
Aminah Mikku listens to the tale of Caramon and Tanis. She nods believing their words. After all she knew well that the Nerakan and other dark forces were not eliminated during the War of the Lance and the Dark Gods still have their backs.
After the wizards have had a chance to mumble, Aminah Mikku addresses the crowd, "Great wizards, clerics, warriors and nobles, do not discount the words of Caramon and Tanis. The War of the Lance saw many organized fronts of the armies of evil. While their armies was defeated, their supporters such as the foul Nerakans, the wicked Ogres, the terrible Goblins and the beastial Draconians still exist in this world. They are bitter and vengeful for their defeat and the Dark Gods are behind them feeding their ambitions. We must remain vigilant lest the world fall into another war worse than the last."
Shalafi2412 |
The Half-Elf continues. We went to the High Clerist Tower in an attempt to allow Steel Brightblade to know the truth about his father. This knowledge was kept from him. Steel is very much like his father and refused to hide his armor, dedicated and blessed by the Dark Queen. We were let through the gates of the Tower of the High Clerist. Maybe this was a sign that Paladine blessed our quest since everyone who saw him saw him as a Knight of the Order of the Crown. As we were escorted to the Chamber of Paladine, by you my Lord, Thomas, no one stopped us. As the young man knelt before the grave of his father, the Chamber of Paladine was illuminated by light and Sturm Brightblade appeared, giving his sword to his son and also the star jewel, given to him by Alhana Starbreeze. We desecrated nothing but the father gave the inheritance to his son. His body disappeared, perhaps it was taken up to Paladine?
We were attacked by the knights and we defended ourselves. We did not harm anyone. Steel's dragon came for her Master and we were able to escape. He returned to Storm's Keep and we made our way to let the Knights, the Conclave, and the Church of Paladine, know of this great threat. This I swear on the grave of one I loved, Sturm Brightblade.
Shalafi2412 |
The Master of the Black Robes turns to the cleric who just spoke up. We mages certainly do not need to be lectured on the use of magic by a novice who does not know her place, one who spreads gossip at the drop of a hat and then acts to be above it all.
The Conclave seems to nod in agreement.
Shalafi2412 |
Sir Thomas speaks, Bah, while I do not doubt that thought you saw something Tanis, why would Sturm Brightblade, a great iconic knight give something good and holy over to a son who has obviously turned to darkness. These knights, if they do indeed exist, really are no concern. Our numbers have swelled and these knights are dedicated to evil. There is the Dark Queen's Law that evil turns upon itself. It happened in the War of the Lance when the Highlords turned on themselves. It happened in the Dark Lady's War when the Kitiara Uth Matar turned on both her half brother and the now Master of the Black Robes. We beat them back once and have done so since the time of Huma and we will continue to do so, with the powers of the gods of Light, especially the Sacred Trimuvirate, behind us
Shalafi2412 |
Tanis Half-Elven replies, And this is exactly the type of attitude that will keep the free nations of Ansalon, Sir Thomas, from defending themselves. Evil is growing and this time the Dark Majesty has knights just as dedicated to her as you and your orders are to Paladine. These young knights are honorable. After all, Ariakan learned that from his time with you at the High Clerist Tower!
Shalafi2412 |
Justarius, Master of the Conclave speaks. The concern that the Wizard's Conclave is with these renegade Knights of the Thorn. We mages understand something that many do not. We understand the need for balance. We were once persecuted under the might of Takihisis and yet there are many of our elven brethern in the White Robes who can recall when we were hunted by the followers of Paladine, ordered by the Kingpriest Beldinas Piloforo. It did not matter if the Robes were Red, Black or White. If the person was elven, human or what ever race.
We wizards police our own. These wizards practice the Art outside of the structures laid down by the 3 Cousins. They are the greatest threat for we know what can happen when a wizard goes renegade. Galen Dracos, Fistiantdilus and Raistlin Majere are a few examples of renegades that have threatened the world as individuals, how much more of those who are organized in an Order. No, they are a great threat.
As Master of the Conclave I give permission for even those of the White Robes to slay a Knight of the Thorn who refuses to come into allegiance with the Towers of High Sorcery and take their Test.
The Conclave and the Heads of the Orders nod in agreement at this statement.
