End Round 4
The party again continued to hold its own. The paladin kept Calin from further hit point loss while the focus on the goblins by the arcane casters and the rouge helped to keep them off balance.

Round 5 Init 18
Tough little bugger isn't he is his thoughts as he waits a moment, seeking to bring his hammer to bear in this type of fighting. Moving and peering until.............
There! at the time of his talking and taunting, Lokien swings his Hammer!
Long Hammer Bash!, Bless, Flank, Holy Strike 1d20 + 3 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 3 + 2 + 1 = 262d6 + 4 + 1d6 ⇒ (2, 3) + 4 + (2) = 11
Confirm Crit 1d20 + 3 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 3 + 2 + 1 = 204d6 + 8 + 1d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 5, 3) + 8 + (2) = 22
Bless
Holy Strike
The map seems weird to me, moving from behind Calin to flank with Kast.
Garridan Teskarova |
Garridan screams in rage upon hearing the warchief's words; however, before he react, Lokien steps forward and smashes the foul creature's skull. He then turns towards Korvus, the stunned three-armed goblin... He draws his dagger and throws it at the monster! "Die you bastard!"
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Korvus is currently stunned, so he has a -2 Penalty to his AC and loses his Dex bonus to AC (if any).
Garridan Teskarova |
Going off your notes from earlier when he failed his saving throw. If he has 2 HD or less, then he's unconscious, but if he has 3-4 HD then he's just stunned and blinded. And if he's unconscious... then that changes Garridan's actions. If he's unconscious, then Garridan will coup de grace instead of a standard attack.
Amren Slyblade |
Round 5:
Surrender?! After what you've done? YOU DON"T HAVE THE RIGHT TO SURRENDER!!
Amren throws a dagger at the mutant three armed goblin, his rage at their role in Lady Teskarova's death driving his arm.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Damage: 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Kast Phaer |
Round 5, Init 10
Kast, taking his cue from Amren and Garridan, attacks the goblin rider again, this time with flank.
1d20 + 5 + 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 5 + 1 + 1 + 2 = 28 to hit; (bless, div favor, flank)
1d8 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 6 + 1 = 10 damage.
If it falls and I hope it does!, Kast will limp to flank the big goblin.
AC: 14 (Dex -1, Scale +5)
HP: 19/21
Weapon: Longspear
Mood: Feeling the heady rush of real combat
Lokien Forge |
Round 6 Init 18
Lokien shares a glance at Jark.
"If you are sincere in Surrendering, drop your weapons but do stay up there first. My friends might not be feeling too merciful at the moment."
Turning to Jark, Lokien sends a quick question in his native tongue.
'
Подумайте вы сможете сдержать наши компаньоны от тех, с гоблинов крови которого сдались?"
Think ye be able to hold back our companions from those with goblin blood whom have surrendered?
Lokien Forge |
Are we still in init or is this out of combat?
Round 6 Init 18
"Well Friends. The choice is simple. Live or Die."
Lokien tries to explain to the other goblins.
Intimidate 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (13) - 1 = 12
Jarkralzak |
Ok..I dont know what happened, but none of this was updated for me...and I just checked yesterday! Very sorry as I had just been waiting for my turn....no idea why it did not update..but I am still here!
Jarkralzak |
Jarkralzak looks to the dwarven cleric and answers.
"I do not know if I can control your friends enough to stop their seeking justice against these creatures, and I am not sure if I should. Honour and justice are the hallmarks of civilized peoples, not vermin like goblins!"
He remains in a defensive stance, ready to strike out if any of the goblins attacks.
Lokien Forge |
Even if they be Goblins, they have surrendered and It feels ill to strike a foe that has surrendered. We are better than them. Going so far below to their level is...is...despicable to me."
Amren Slyblade |
Round 6:
Amren looks incredulously at the dwarves.
You're serious.... You want to allow them to surrender. You actually are allowing this? THESE GOBLINS ATTACKED SANDPOINT, THEY KILLED COUNTLESS PEOPLE, AND THEY KILLED AND TORTURED GARRIDAN'S MOTHER!
He punctuates his rage with another dagger, throwing it with all his strength at the three armed goblin.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
Damage: 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
When the dagger thuds into the creature, he speaks again, solemnly.
Surrender is not an option for these vermin. They must be slaughtered, like rats. Justice must be served, here and now. Anything else is disrespect for those they killed, and the very goodness that we came here to uphold.
Lokien Forge |
"So you'd stoop to their level? In doing so, are you any better than these vermin as you called them? Yes they have killed townsfolk and yes they have killed Garridan's Mother. Would you do to them what you claim them all to have done? Strike if you must as creatures that have surrendered and are now helpless. Strike and know that they won even as you spill their life's blood." Lokien steps back, leting Amren have free passage to the goblins. Seeking to appeal to the better nature of the halfling himself.
"I for one would not strike a helpless creature down, no matter how wretched they may be. That is not Justice nor Goodness. That is not what Torag teaches. I'll not be drawn down to their level. I will not let them have that victory." Lokien steps further back towards the door, indicating his distaste as what is occuring now even as Amren's thrown dagger kills the 3-armed goblin.
Jarkralzak |
"As I said I will not strike a creature that cannot defend itself, but these are enemies! Just because they are losing does not give them the right to suddenly decide to "give up" and we will treat them as honoured captives. We ask for no quarter and should give none...they would most certainly do the same to us."
Amren Slyblade |
Amren breathes heavily, about to open his mouth to argue with the dwarf further, when a large purple butterfly slowly makes it's way over the battlefield, casually, like the blood and bodies aren't even there. Amren's eyes then make their way to the dead goblins, and the mutant with a small dagger embedded in its throat. He sighs, and sheathes the dagger he had drawn while speaking.
You... You're right Lokien. We are better than this.... I let my anger get the better of me.
He looks over to Garridan, who no doubt wishes to continue the battle.
Gar... As horrible as it sounds, he's right. They surrendered. It's our duty to take then back to town for justice... No doubt their verdict will just as final as what we have them, though.
If combat is over: He starts the task of retrieving all of his daggers, and searching the war chief and the mutant for anything useful.
Take 20 on perception for both bodies, if combat is over
Kast Phaer |
Kast relents to the will of then group, lowering his longspear but still on alert.
"Are you sure you want to accept surrender? We have accepted a burden," Kast says, his eyes flickering to Elwarien. Actually, our second burden.
Kast, though grumpy, will help in tying up the captives and searching the place for look.
"If we leave now, we might be able to make it back to Sandpoint today, right? As long as these goblins do not slow us down too much," Kast says.
What do they expect the people of Sandpoint to do outside of execute these goblins? Either way it is a death sentence...just one at our hands with weapons in theirs or after a mock trial where they are found guilty.
Kast keeps his mouth shut, helping.
Kast Phaer |
Whats the matter, Wart? You magics only good for deception and trickery?
Kast nods to Elrawein, limping over to help.
Cast CLW. Maybe two.
1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 Healing
Garridan Teskarova |
Garridan was in the midst of removing his quarterstaff to smash the three-armed goblin's head; however, his friend Amren beat him to the punch. And yet... the rage that he welled up inside him did not dissipate upon seeing the creature fall to the ground. Almost in a trance-like state the young sorcerer walks over to Horvus and proceeds to bash the goblin's skull over and over until he and his staff were covered in sticky blood and his breath came in ragged gasps. He spat upon the misshapen heap that was once Horvus' skull and turns towards the other goblins and his companions.
"Fine, we take them to Sandpoint for trial. My mother was not the only one murdered by these creatures, their families deserve justice. And once condemned, I will see them hung."
He glares openly at the goblins, speaking to them in their language. "We will not kill you now, but if you make even one sound until we return to Sandpoint I will cut your miserable throats." He removes a length of rope from his backpack.
He throws it at the feet of the dwarves. "Someone tie them up." He stumbles off from the party and falls to his knees sobbing. The fires of vengeance had finally been quenched.

What is the group going to do?>
Did the CLW bring Calin up?
Amren Slyblade |
Running my real life game at the moment, will post later
Calin Moonbreeze |
His eyes shot open, The last thing he remembered was his flail smashing into the lizard mount and the goblin atop it stabbing at him. He was still in a lot of pain yet he was breathing. He sat up and looked about his surroundings his brain still trying to catch up to everything. Seeing Kast above him he nodded.
"Thank you." He said simply earnestly enough. their were goblins surrendered all about him, and he saw a hideous 3 armed goblin smashed to a pulp the quarterstaff of the young human garridan the obvious culprit.
"Looks like I missed a few things.
He said dryly.
Garridan Teskarova |
Garridan simply nods at Elrawein as she departs. He stares off for another moment before standing up and dusting off his knees. He wanders back to Korvus and plucks his dagger out of the goblin, wipes the blood off the blade, and slips it back into its sheath.
Elrawien Lantherion |
After making sure her husband is abreast of the situation she will return to Garridan to make sure he is ok. I am sorry you did not get the opportunity to strike the finishing blow but perhaps that was not the will of the Savored Sting? Perhaps, though he killed your mother, there is another behind the attack. There is something here. Something that needs to be stopped. Perhaps that is the ultimate revenge.
Garridan Teskarova |
He turns towards Elrawein. "It matters not, vengeance has been brought upon those responsible. I believe you are right, something else drives these goblins beyond their normal voracious desires. Perhaps now that have a moment to catch our breath and heal our wounds I may consult the cards to divine an answer to that mysterious power we discovered earlier. I wonder if it has anything to do with all this."
I've got to get some sleep now, my eyelids are about to close on their own. I'll work on a Harrowing post tomorrow afternoon/evening.
