Azhar:
Leaving the Looking Glass
She leans into him as he kisses her forehead. "I think one of the servants said the bathroom was on the other side of the upstairs ballroom." She smiles, slightly sleepy, "I'll go when you're done."

Cassian:
For a brief moment, a look of pure mischievous light comes into her (currently his) face, then Janiven shakes her head. "For a disguise to really work, I'd have to act like she'd expect mee to and I'm rot at acting."

"Are you going to sneak out now when no one is looking or shadow us out?"

Gravlax:
Leaving the Looking Glass
"I think its clean, although I did hear something about a bath near the other wing." Shakes her head, "Just the scratch at the end."

"We went in, down long stairs. Dim room and a sound like a thousand mosquitos out in the swamp. Three big suckers came diving down at us. Amaya and me, we managed to dodge them, but the last one latched onto Fiosa's neck. We managed to smash it before it had a chance to suck much, it turned into a gem and we bailed back up the stairs." A shrug, "They stopped chasing us about halfway up the stairs."

"I'll follow you two," Cassian says. "We should tell her what's happening. She's a professional actress and should be able to carry you."

Cassian fetches a robe and wraps it around Calseinica's costume to give her some modesty and gently rouses her. "Calseinica. Wake up, jewel."

Leaving the Looking Glass

"I don't know how much I'm going to sleep tonight. A bath might be the way to go...."

Gravlax nods as she tells the story. "It's important to know when to run. There were three giant spiders in my room, and a swarm of little ones. I fought them directly, but Melilot pretty much applied the killing blow to each. I wouldn't want to be on the opposite side of a combat from her."

"I'm glad you're not injured." He cocks his head to the side. "Does it bother you that I am not so ... demonstrative ... in public as Azhar is with Amaya? Or are you rather relieved by that?"

Gozran 22 - Safehouse

At the predetermined time that works around everyone's schedule, the group mets at the safehouse. In addition to those who braved the Asomodean Knot to bring forth what you think is the Chelish Crux, are Arael and Ailyn - no where near each other but both ignoring the other's presence.

The small, red, rune-covered object which glows when touched but doesn't radiate a magical aura being the best candidate. There are no seams or obvious clues to a means to open the die when looking at it, but tracing the rune on the face causes that face to light up and remain lit.

The following are separate rolls, in order and you cannot take-20 on them.

The die shakes in your hand, all the faces lighting up, the runes changing, resetting the puzzle. You may try again starting at the (A) spoiler DCs.

Cassian:
When Cassian first arrives, Janiven waves him over. "Since it is likely that you'll be the one trying to open the crux..." She puts her hand on his, a cool energy passing from her to him, "Don't get yourself burned."

Cassian has 10 points of fire resistance.

Disable device 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (18) + 20 = 38, Rygel assist: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Cassian swears on the first try, although the fire doesn't seem to hurt him. Rygel chirps, pointing to a face of the crux. "Got it, buddy." A moment later, and he has the crux open.

GM:
"Thanks, cutie," Cassian says.

Gozran 21 - Safehouse

Cassian:
Cassian knows the sequence to open the crux. While it no longer requires a check on his part it take 3 consecutive full-round actions to trace the runes.

Of course, if anyone messes with it and resets the puzzle, Cassian will have to re-figure the sequence.

As Cassian traces the last rune, the crux starts to open, slowly unfolding, giving Cassian a chance to put it down and move back (in case of exploding traps or summoned monsters). When the construction stops moving there is a 5-foot-square flat sheet of metal and wood.

Lying ontop of the crux's new surface are a pair of matched slender oak wands, a silver box engraved with dancing skeletons containing six gray stubby candles, three scrolls, a leather portfolio with an embossed and stylized letter "D", and a woman's head.

A) K:local DC 20:
The mark on the portfolio is the symbol for the Pathfinder lodge of Delvehaven in Westcrown.
B) K:planar DC 23:
The woman's head actually seems to be the head of a devil known as an eryines (also known as fallen angels).

A identification which is confirmed by the flavor of her curses in infernal.

As soon as the light of the room illuminates the contents, the eyes on the head open. The woman's mouth opens, shrieking in anger and clearly cursing in infernal.

Infernal:
She seems to be cursing Dargentu Vheed for being a disrespectful and ungrateful ninny to lock her away. Bastard.

Cassian:
Janiven steps out of view of the woman on the bed so as to not confuse Calseinica with two Cassian right when she wakes up. Although she doesn't quite meld with the shadows the way Cassian does, most people would overlook her.

Calseinica comes around slowly, the smile at the sound of his voice turning to large, shocked brown eyes, sleepily, "I didn't mean to fall asleep before you got back." Her cool body snuggling against his for warmth.

Gravlax:
Leaving the Looking Glass
She smiles, "I was certainly planning on using the facilities," her smile grows amused, "it'll be one of the most pleasant things about the evening."

She rinses her shirt, thinking, and then shakes her head. "No. There is a difference between knowing someone has your back and feeling coddled. Azhar doesn't seem used to doing the first without the second."

A smile, mischievous, "Besides... This dungeon was far too... grimy to drag you off to do naughty things."

Cassian responds in Infernal.

Infernal:
"Yeah, Vheed's a real dick."

GM:
Cassian waits to see when the disguise fails or Janiven stops Calseinica.

Based on the screeching tirade the head responds with, Cassian must have insulted whatever hell she was spawned from.

Infernal:
I know. That f%@@ing bastard stuck me in this damn hole just because I mentioned his penchant for sticking the noble's brat in his torture chamber. You'd think the brat would be more grateful for all the advice I'd given him. Bloody mortals.

And you're just another one. F+%!ing kids. What the f&%! do you want now?

Male Human Rogue 13

Cassian responds.

Infernal:
"Settle down or I'll put you back in your box. Let's talk about this brat. Give me a name."

Azhar:
Leaving the Looking Glass
She gives him a mock serious glare, the effect ruined by a yawn. "I'll stick you." The threatening words not at all scary.

She grabs a towel, some clothes and leaves. Coming back about thirty minutes later, skin and hair still steaming from her bath.

"It's amazing... hot and I mean hot water. And bath tubs." She sits on the edge of the bed, pulling a comb through her thick dark hair.

Cassian:
1d20 - 1 + 10 ⇒ (20) - 1 + 10 = 29 vs DC 28

Calseinica looks from Cassian to the other person sleepily. Looks back at Cassian, "Why is the boy dressed up like you?" No doubt in her that the man holding her is the one that she has been sleeping with.

Male Human Rogue 13

GM:
Cassian stifles a chuckle. "Calseinica, Janiven, Janiven, Calseinica." He beckons Janiven over to shake hands. "We took a prisoner and we're disguising the prisoner as Janiven, who we're disguising as me. So I needed you to be aware of that, and help with the ruse."

Azhar:
Out of the Looking Glass
She waves her comb at him briefly.

The bathroom is beautiful, porcelain and metal, with large tubs that fill remarkably quickly with water so hot it scalds if cold water isn't added to it.

Cassian:
Janiven walks over, extends a hand, currently blue eyes sharp, examining the woman on the bed in detail. Calseinica offers a hand and a bright smile and only looks slightly confused when Janiven shake it rather than kissing it.

Then the diva's attention returns to Cassian, "Is this part of why you disappeared for the second course?" To both, "I'm happy to help in anyway." Then in a quiet whisper, leaning in towards Cassian, "Is the nice man going to stay here all..." Her voice trails off, then slightly louder, absolutely embarrassed, as something sinks into her sleepy mind, "Jan... she's not a man... is she?" The dark blush rising on her cheeks.

For her part, Janiven is really trying to pretend that she can't hear Calseinica's whisper.

And failing.

It's nice. He mostly ignores it, bathing quickly and efficiently, though pausing just for a few minutes to luxuriate in the warmth, before drying, changing and returning to the room.

Azhar:
1d100 ⇒ 41
Amaya is still awake, but in a losing battle against the sandman, when Azhar returns. "Do you want the bed?" Her voice unsteady with fatigue.

Cassian:
Janiven turns back to the bed, a smile playing over her lips that would highlight her scar if it weren't covered. She doesn't try to imitate Cassian's voice, "Good to meet you, Calseinica. From everything I heard you helped carry most of the cast in the acting scenes."

Janiven settles in a chair, pulling her legs up so she can pillow her head on her knees. "Sorry to intrude, but it should only be a few hours more until the sun comes up."

At that, Calseinica looks out the window, a sad, small oh escaping. She looks at Cassian, then at Janiven at the chair. A pause and then, with an obvious effort to be upbeat, "So... by help you pass for Cassian, you want me to do the talking if it is needed? Since you don't have his voice?" Looks at Cassian, "Anything else?"

Male Human Rogue 13

GM:
Cassian lets out a yawn. "Yeah. If possible, just try to treat Janiven as you would treat me. You don't have to fool any of my companions, just the people who don't know me." Cassian touches Calseinica's leg softly. "It's all right. It should be easy for an actress of your caliber."

He looks from woman to woman, slightly frustrated at having both of his lovers in close proximity, and yet not being able to have sex. "Well, how shall we kill the hours till dawn?" he asks. "I have a deck of cards, but they're useless for actual playing."

"Yes, but you need your sleep, I'm used to the ground, and I've got to face your mother in the morning." he grins. "& you don't love me, yet. I'll take the floor. Azhar:
Gozran 21 morning
She starts to sink down into the bed, then blinks twice, looking at Azhar on the floor. "I'm not sure if you are trying to make me feel guilty..." her voice tired, "but I'm too tired to think about it right now. Tomorrow."

Cassian:
Calseinica beams at Cassian at the touch, the wattage of her smile picking up a few points with his words. She start to lean into Cassian, then looks over at the disguised woman in the chair. Who seems, to Calseinica at least, to not be watching the pair on the bed. A whisper, a small pout, playing with the edge of the robe Cassian pulled around her, "Cards are not really what I'd like to be playing with..." her head cocks to one side, "Why won't your cards work for playing?"

Janiven's voice, slightly muffled by her knee, "His deck's stacked... all the cards are identical." Calseinica looks both intrigued and shocked at the idea.

There is a deep, steadying breath from the woman curled on the chair, and when she speaks someone who didn't know her wouldn't hear the undertone of quiet want and sorrow she is trying to suppress, "It's okay, Cass. I'm a bit beat from the attic," there is a small smile on her lips, "Only one thing I can think of that I'd have the energy for... and that's off the table tonight."

Calseinica, looks at Janiven then at Cassian, "I'm very happy you don't look as haggard as she does disguised as you." A pause, "But sad that I can't make you feel even better."

He stands up and begins taking off his armor and weapons. "Gravlax made her look haggard... normally she's a lot prettier," Cassian says, letting out another yawn.

He keeps stripping until he's down to his underpants, tented by arousal, before lying back onto the bed. He doesn't acknowledge or even seem to notice it. "Once we're out, we can either meet up at Calseinica's, or you two can go your separate ways."

Cassian responds.

There is a flash of hellfire in the woman's eyes, a hint to the power she must have once been, but it doesn't hide the way the jaw tightens nor the widening of the eyes.

Sense Motive DC 20:
Whatever Cassian threatened her with did truly terrify her.

Her voice does not turn pleasant but she does pull back on the most grating of the tones. "نام بچه بداخلاق و لوس آمریکو بود ... و یا چیزی شبیه به آن.اما بچه شکنجه شده و مرده را برای سال ها قبل از شیب حرامزاده گه من با کاغذ بازی و موم قبر گیر کرده است." A pause, "و پدر خود را به پسر دیگر که تقریبا به اندازه او دوست داشت." The coal-black eyes rimmed with red stare at Cassian, then travel to the others of the group. "چگونه دمار از روزگارمان درآورد من در سوراخ شده است که این همان چیزی است که به من خوشامد می گوید؟"

Infernal:
The brat's name was Amerigo Ghival... or something like that. But the kid's been tortured and dead for years before the d&~~@#@ bastard stuck me in with paperwork and gravewax.

And his pappy had another son that he liked almost as much.

How the f%~* long have I been in the hole that this is what greets me?

Male Human Rogue 13

Cassian smiles sweetly, speaking in reasonable Infernal.

Infernal:
"I think what you meant to say was, 'Thank you, Cassian. I sure am grateful you let me out of my prison.' And here's where I say, 'You're welcome. What's your name and how did you end up in your present predicament that you're only out of because I was nice enough to free you?'"

She wants to spit at Cassian, to rail at him, to rend him into little pieces... but can't. There is a pause, a quiet seething. "هزاره از خدمات خوب. کشتار در سکوت و کاملا.بازی لاتین الاغ خسته کننده از سیاست و قدردانی دوزخی."

Her voice grows harsher, the venom in her words seeming to almost add to the red of her hair. "لعنت به تو تنها یک چیز کم است و ناگهان همه نوبت جهنم." Her voice raises, clearly not speaking to anyone currently present. "شما مولوخی لعنت. نمی توانست فقط به من کشته شده اند. شماره تخریب بدن من. دستان من در اطراف مانند یک اسباب بازی است."

Looks back at Cassian, "قمار من را به لعنتی انسانی."

Infernal:
"Millennium of good service. Of killing silently and perfectly. Of playing the lati-ass-boring game of politics and infernal gratitude."

Her voice grows harsher, the venom in her words seeming to almost add to the red of her hair. "You frag a single little thing and suddenly everyone is Dis turns." Her voice raises, clearly not speaking to anyone currently present. "F#$% you Moloch. Couldn't have just killed me. No. Destroyed MY body. Handed me around like a toy."

Looks back at Cassian, "Gambled me away to f@#!ing human."

Male Human Rogue 13

Cassian nods sympathetically.

Infernal:
"That's really rough. Well, you have a choice to make. You can make the best of a bad situation. Help us out, maybe we start making your present state a little more bearable. Or you're so helpful we start looking for ways to improve it."

There is the light of intelligence behind the madness of years. The eyes narrow hatefully, but the words are tempered. "بنابراین من به شما کمک کند و من به شما کمک کند؟"

A pause, "و فقط شما کیسه کمی از خون قرمز می خواهم می خواهم؟"

Infernal:
"So I help you and you help me?"

A pause, "And just want do you little bags of red blood want?"

Perception DC 15:
There is a quiet whisper in a sing song tone, "Crazy crazy is that one. Needs medicine. Lots of medicine." Followed by a low whistle.

Cassian:
Calseinica's eyes are on him as he disrobes, her lower lip getting pulled into her mouth as he lays on the bed. Then her eyes move over to the person curled in the chair. Then back to Cassian, pleading.

Barely noticeable, Janiven's arms tighten around her legs, an almost silent groan.

Then Calseinica's eyes spark and she whispers, "So you'll stay with me for a while tomorrow?" A hopeful smile as she snuggles into his side. A pause, "Why would Janiven stay after she got me home?"

Not quite as silent this time, a sound that is halfway between a pained laugh and a groan from Janiven.

Gravlax:
Leaving the Looking Glass
She smiles, straightens up on her knees, pressing a soft kiss to his lips. "Glad we have that clear." A pause, "But it is good to know I have someone to watch my behind."

She moves easily to her feet in a smooth movement. "Do you suppose the bath has towels or..." she starts to open drawers and doors with the skill of someone who has tossed a few houses in her day. And comes up with a pile of plush cotton.

A smile, "Race you?"

Melilot:
Leaving the Looking Glass
Fiosa holds herself perfectly and totally in check until the pair gets back to the room. Then she sinks down on the floor (far easier for a halfling than the over large chairs) shaking.

Gravlax shrugs, and speaks in Infernal.

Infernal:
"Delvehaven. We want to get in, figure out what was done to cause the shadow beasts that haunt Westcrown, figure out how to stop them."

He looks around the room for dissent.

There is a spark of cunning in the eyes, "من زندگی می کردند وجود دارد." A pause, "با لواط بز دوزخی.زمانی که او در نوسازی مانور، او رفت به تماشای بیش از بوت لیس زدن آلت تناسلی پتفایندر." Some of the coherance fades from the eyes, "پسر حرامزاده شیطان صفت خفاش بالدار سینه.پس از به اطاعت به یک کیسه قرمز جادوگر زننده فانی. و من به او کمک کرده است.او همه چیز در مورد رفقا فاک در دیو گفت. کمی از اسرار است که او را به سمت خوبی از هزار معاملات دوزخی.و بز خونریزی دوست داشتن آلت تناسلی کمتر حرامزاده هنوز به من انداختند. ناسپاس."

Infernal:
"I lived there." A pause, "With the infernal goat sodomite. When he was refurbishing the manor, he moved in to watch over the boot-licking Pathfinder weenies." Some of the coherance fades from the eyes, "Son of a bat-winged demon breasted bastard. Having to kowtow to a red bag of mortal pulsing wizard. And I helped him. Told him all about the f$*~ alls in Div. The little secrets that got him on the good side of a thousand infernal deals. And the bleating goat loving dickless bastard still tossed me. Ingrate."

GM:

Leaving the Looking Glass

Gravlax winks. "Did you say watch or wash?"

"You're on. One two three...."

Gravlax:
Leaving the Looking Glass
She bolts to the door, which actually gives Gravlax a small head start since she is slowed down by opening the door where he gets to bolt through it. But she catches up, using walls to get a little extra speed on the turns.

Breathing hard she tags the bath door before him. And then makes a small sound of surprise as it opens, letting a slightly damp Azhar out.

Azhar and Gravlax:
Gozran 21/early early morning
Just as Azhar finishes washing up, there is a heavy thud against the bathroom door. Opening it he startles Mathalen, who must have slammed into it, and sees Gravlax tearing through the upper ballroom.

GM:
Cassian smiles sleepily. "No reason. I'm going to get some shut eye. Wake me up when it's time to go." With that, he closes his eyes and begins to drift off.

Just having finished pulling on his clothes, Azhar opens the door. Seeing Mathalen, and Gravlax somewhere in the distance, he inquires with a surprised, "Umm...something wrong?"

Safehouse
"Anyone care to fill in those of us who do not speak infernal?" Azhar looks around as if he is searching for something or someone specifically, but his eyes pass by all of members of the group.

Gravlax skids to a (mostly noiseless) halt. "You win, well done," he says to Mathalen.

"Azhar, hello ... er ..." Gravlax looks down at his feet, up at Mathalen, back to Azhar. "Nothing wrong. Nothing wrong at all. Nice facilities we're having this evening, isn't it?"

Gravlax's expression is thoughtful.

"Cassian presented our bona fides. The head offered to help. I asked about Delvehaven and the shadow beasts. Basically."

Gravlax and Azhar:
Gozran 21/early early morning
Mathalen shoots a smile over her shoulder at Gravlax, "It's the soft carpeting and no shoes, horrible advantage."

She looks up Azhar's height, shakes her head, "All quiet." And she slips past the larger man into the room.

Cassian:
Calseinica falls back to sleep easily and quickly.

1d20 + 16 ⇒ (4) + 16 = 201d20 + 16 - 10 ⇒ (12) + 16 - 10 = 18
And Cassian wakes up seconds before Janiven's hand gently touches the arm that isn't claimed by Calseinica. There is sunlight streaming in around the dark curtains in the windows. "The mayor hasn't left the banquet hall yet, but based on the servants that should be anytime now. Which means if we start to trickle out it should seem odd... and it shouldn't offend."

There is a pause as she looks down at him, "Does this still count as her time?"

Azhar rolls his eyes, takes on a scolding tone, "Kids these days. Don't you know you're not supposed to be running races when adults are trying to sleep?" he tries to keep a straight face, fails and grins widely, he claps Mathalen lightly on the back or shoulder, "so you beat him, huh? Congratulations. Well, I'll let you two have your fun. Have you tried the facilities here? Amazing." his eyes sparkle and flash, before he takes a few steps towards his room, he says over his shoulder, "Just remember it's only a couple hours until sunrise." he flashes them a smile before continuing on his way.

"Ahh. Thank you."
Azhar looks around again.

He shakes his head, the muzziness still trying to bring him back to sleep. "Huh? No."

Azhar shakes his head, "No worries. One of the things I left on a far away island." his brow furroughs, "I can see why you think I might know, but..." he looks around at the others. "I didn't know infernal was that common."

"Thanks," Gravlax says. "But I think I'm too wound up...."

He slips into the bath room after Mathalen.

"It's the official tongue of business here," Gravlax says. "Which is why I know all the ways to say Breach of Contract."

Janiven shrugs, unconcerned, "There are enough people here that do that I figured I'd be able to piece it all together accurately later."

Azhar:
If you are trying to identify where Livia's voice came from, doing so is a DC 20 Perception - which Azhar can take-10 on.

Azhar and Gravlax:
And with no pomp, no circumstance, and really no warning, the door would close soundly behind Azhar.

Gravlax:
By Mathalen, who is giving a bit of a dirty look at the door. "You know... I'm pretty sure I'm older than the paternalistic brat."

She looks at Gravlax and loses most of the annoyance in a half-cough, half-laugh, "But I don't think I can take him even in a dirty fight, so I guess I have to put up with it."

The bathroom is roomy, with porcelain and metal tubs. Like the basins in the room these have both hot and cold taps, suggesting the water will be just as hot here.

Cassian:
"ah... good." She starts to lean down, but stops before she kisses him, remembering the disguise. [smaller]"F%!%" The word full of regret, "Sorry, shanghaing you when I'm disguised as you... just a bit off." Her eyes flick over the other woman, "I'll knock on a few doors to make sure everyone will be ready to go in the next hour or so." And with a last, regretful look back, Janiven slips out of the room noiselessly.

Chava:
yes, does he spot her.

GM:

Gravlax laughs.

"Catch him in an awkward position showing off for Amaya. Dump a ferret down his pants. Then run. That's how I'd beat him in a dirty fight if I were you."

Gravlax experiments with the hot and cold taps, playing with the water until he has a good mix. Not stoppering the basin until he is satisfied with the temperature. "Some of these tubs look large enough for more than one person." He doesn't direct the comment at Mathalen, but of course no one else is present.
