GM:

"Neither can I," Gravlax shrugs. "Would you like company? I'm free after work tomorrow."

GM:

River of Tears - Round 2

Rev reaches over and heals his brother. (Azhar heals 7 hit points.) Then he looks around, trying to figure out where he will be of the best use.

Most of you catch sight of her as she moves, the shadows pulling back from her to reveal a striking tiefling woman with pitch black skin and flame-red hair dressed in red and black leathers. She darts down and forward, her shortsword twisting past Rev's armor before she jumps back. (Rev takes 13 hit points and 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14 is not poisoned.) "Damn." Her voice low and smoky. "Sorry about that, but you have far too many heavy hitters and the healers normally go down far easier than that."

Azhar's hand may twitch, wishing he could strike down their foe. But he is paralyzed.

Gravlax waits for something more to happen. He doesn't see anything to attack. If something rears its head, he attacks. And when the tiefling appears, he does so (1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 8 + 1 = 131d2 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 1 = 5) but she dodges the marble.

Amaya continues her Andorean ode, still sick from Jabe's stench, but she pulls out her crossbow and loads it. Cassian goes to the corner by the waterfall and

Cassian/Darkvision/Perception DC 27:
attempts to vanish into the shadows.

Melilot, who had started to swing a stone at Janiven's words, lobs a deadly stone at the woman. The sound of it striking is terrifying.

Mathalen stays defensive, while Fiosa looks at the woman. "There is nothing in the dark that isn't there in the light." (Fiosa blesses the group. +1 morale bonus to attack. This does stack with bardic music.)

Janiven fires, cursing when the woman dodges the arrow. "Devil-blooded..." her eyes searching for and finding, "The red parts of the armor are probably slightly weaker than the black." (Hunter's Bond, everyone gets a +1 to hit and damage vs tieflings, also +1 on most rolls opposing tieflings)

Although sickened, Rev casts a healing spell on himself. (Rev heals 10 hit points.)

Current buffs: bardic (+1 competence to hit/damage); hunter's (+1 to hit/damage); bless (+1 morale to hit)

Standing in the shallow water (~) does not require a swim check for a medium creature as the water only comes to thigh. However, anyone standing on the ground will have a +1 to hit from the height advantage.

Note: Sian is standing directly above the water at the same height as the ground. So she would have a height advantage on those in the shallow water.

River of Tears - Round 3

She looks around, makes a choice. "Դռնատեղ, քիչ է. Թիրախ է Սիրո մեկին:" A shadow, just like the ones you fought by the black mirror drifts out of the wall between Janiven and Mathalen. Sian dodges in towards Melilot, leaving a small opening for Rev to take advantage of (Rev AoO 1d20 + 3 - 2 + 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 3 - 2 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 14; 1d4 - 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (4) - 2 + 1 + 1 = 4) while adding a green liquid to her blade. The shortsword breaks through Melilot's defense, although the shadow flanking only flounders. (Melilot take 20 hit points and 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19 is not poisoned.)

Shadowtongue:
Doorway, little one. Target the blonde one.

Azhar continues to stand around, saying nothing. And is no longer paralyzed.

Gravlax strikes double-handed at the woman with his dueling sword. A good true strike.

Amaya still with the quiet song, still sick from jabe's stench, drops her crossbow, pulls her longsword which gets caught in the crush of people and she falls into the shallow mucky water.

Cassian drops his weapons and pulls his bow. The arrow just barely hitting the target.

Melilot:
Since she is in melee, I am assuming Melilot would switch to a melee attack since she can't 5-foot away. The attacks would have both missed either way. Sorry.
Melilot, with a simple twist, switchs from ranged to melee, striking at the woman who stabbed her but misses.

Mathalen moves away from the shadow, opening up a pathway for Melilot. Fiosa channels, healing the injured 1d6 ⇒ 2 hit points. Janiven just barely tumbles past the shadow, landing in the shallow water, firing an arrow at Sian before she stops fully.

Rev, dagger already out, strikes at woman, drawing just a drop of blood.

Gravlax pulls the book out of his closet, unwraps it, sets it out.

He does look over Azhar's shoulder as Azhar reads, but not too closely.

There is a knock at the door and when someone gets it Mathalen looks around the room. To Gravlax, "I didn't bring enough food for everyone."

Azhar:

"If I get too far, I may stumble into another statue... and that one could turn out to be a gargoyle." She takes another drink. "But I suppose the hammer would work."

Gravlax:

She complies, raising her arms, but not until after she leans forward kissing him.

Once the armor is off she sighs, the sound so very relieved. "It still feels like the weight I'm carring has more than halved." Her stretch is far more easy... plus it is easier to see the play of her body with the shirt stuck to her skin.

Azhar looks up, smiles and says in a bright voice, "Hi Mathalen! Oh, no, don't worry. We didn't exactly plan this in advance, go ahead and eat. I'm busy researching anyway and can get something on the way home later. Thanks for the thought though."

"Yup, which is why you're gonna be staying behind me, but not to far away. Besides, you've done pretty good with that crossbow of yours."

Gravlax answers the door. "I would have warned you, but I wasn't expecting the company either." He shrugs. "They want to go gargoyle-hunting."

Gravlax makes no secret of watching her stretch.

"You should wear armor more often, just so you can enjoy taking it off," he says, sliding out of his chain shirt, and doing his own stretching.

Amaya pipes up, "But that won't be until later. I'll at least need to get home soon. It was mostly seeing if you were interested and, if so, where you wanted to meet."

Azhar:

Her hand comes up in a so-so gesture. "Not when there are people in the way."

Once the drink is done and paid for, she gets up with a smile. "Okay. Now to make gargoyle poking plans."

Gravlax:

She looks over at him, a smile playing on her lips. With a small shake when she realizes he is done stretching, "We did successful vanquish a ... nest of vipers. Do we get rewarded for that?"

"Interested," Gravlax says. "As for where to meet ... where did you last see it, Mathalen? Might as well start there."

GM:

Gravlax leans in and kisses Mathalen on the side of her neck. "Absolutely," he says, smiling, "I will reward you and you can reward me."

Azhar looks up from the book, "What, 'hmm? Oh, yes. Sounds great." Looks at the positioning of the sun, "Oh, I'm sorry." turns around towards Amaya, "do we need to be getting back?" looks down with regret at the book. "Sorry, looks like I'll have to get back to you later." He notes where he is in the book and starts to rise. "Thank you so much for your hospitality and we'll see you later tonight. About the same time as last time?"

Azhar is quick to join her, resisting the urge to pick her up and carry her along, he does not resist the urge to get very close to her again as they walk, his hand again finding her waist looking down into her face with a very affectionate look as he pulls her close as they begin their way to find Gravlax

"Lamb-chop? That's all you can come up with?" He asks, quite seriously.
