Male Human Rogue 13

GM:
Gozran 15/Calseinica
Cassian looks down at the stockings still covering her legs with amusement, stifling a yawn.

"I'm not good with long term plans, Cali. This... us... this wasn't intended. I don't regret it, but I never planned it. I wanted to see what you knew, then I decided I might like to seduce you, and then you turned out to be wonderful." He chuckles. "All of Westcrown would kill to be in your bed, and here I am, an unwanted son, a lowlife."

He leans down to kiss her softly, let her feel what he can't say.

"I want to get rid of the shadow creatures. That's one of my goals. I suppose I could patronize the theater as well, knowing it was my diva onstage. I want to find valuable objects from the great houses and steal them." He cuddles a little closer. "Is that what you had in mind?"

She smiles up at Rev, "They will be too busy assuming I'm someone's pet to stare at my legs." With a shrug as she moves out the door, "At least not until they are sure what price it will cost them."

Jask
Jask takes a deep breath, "I'm pretty sure the book is half reliable..." He chuckles, "It's just figuring out which half is fantasy and whisch half is truth."

"It does suggest that the gateway the elves used to escape Golarion during Starfall is just one in a larger series of portals that connect all of the planets in the solar system."

Larko
Larko shrugs, "I'm sure she'd come around if someone asked her specifically for help, but she isn't the kind to risk her neck for altruistic reasons." That is a maybe a smile on the laconic man's mouth, it is hard to tell, "Plus she has a brothel and bar to run."

"If you need her, that is the best place to look for her."

Fiosa dress

"Just you wait, they'll stare. If they do more than that, let me know and I'll take care of them." Rev reassures Fi.
Jask
"Is that gateway still around? I mean... is it known where it exists?" Rev inquires.
Larko
Rev's answering shrug matches Larko's. "Was just curious. Everyone else has made an appearance now and then, but the gnome hadn't. A brothel, you say? Is it any good?" He asks.

She looks down her legs, past the soft silken stockings, to the strapped heels. "I really should take those off..." she snuggles in closer, "But you are comfortable."

She thinks for a moment, "Yes." Her pretty mouth pouts, "Except you aren't a lowlife."

Her brow furrows, "The night monsters? But haven't they always been here?"

Rev:
Fiosa dress
She nods, taking his words for truth. "I will see you there, then." A smile.

Jask
The old man chuckles, "The only one I know about is in the heart of the elven kingdom, closed off to the rest of the world." A pause, "At least that is the way the stories go... It is possible that it doesn't work ever since they migrated back."

Larko
"Clean. Girls are well cared for. None of the rough stuff that is common at many Chelish brothels... unless you want to be on the receiving end." His voice flat, informative, but without judgement one way or another.

Tower of Perpetuity - Round 5

Mathalen appears down the other hallway. Looks behind herself. Janiven shots again, a beautiful shot that could drop a animal or person in their tracks... and and it cracks the last of the mirror that Azhar has been damaging. There is a scream from the shadow in the wall, the sound full of unknown fear and pain.

The shadow streaks out from the stone, headed straight for Melilot, the one who has done so much damage to the only remaining mirror. She manages to dodge its touch once again.

Rev, holding for the creature to emerge, washes the area with positive energy, bursting the creature.

Gravlax holds ready to move as necessary to help flank the shadow creatures.

Fiosa looks over at Janiven, worry on her face for the archer.

Melilot's aim is good, the final reflective surface shattering.

Gozran 21 - Everpits

Both of the hallways leading from the previously shadow infested room lead to the same spiraled staircase pit although on opposite sides with an impossible number of spirals between.

A rickety-looking wooden set of curved stairs, supported by creaking ropes above and a lattice of wooden boards below, passes like a bridge through the center of a circular shaft. No floor is visible below, and no ceiling above. An opening in the far wall beckons about 30 feet below the point where the stairs curve.

A) Anyone who dares to jump for it:
In order to reach the non-stair exit takes a DC 15 Acrobatics check (take-10 allowable).
A and Don't make it:
You start to fall past the stairs every 12 seconds. Dc 15 Reflex save to regain the stairs or the exit.

Edit: post Cassian's reply.
The rope reduces the Reflex save to get onto the stairs or to the exit to a DC 10 (take-10 allowable).

Male Human Rogue 13

Cassian ties a rope around his waist and easily makes the jump, securing the rope to the other side.

GM:
Gozran 15/Calseinica
Cassian grins at her, pulling the covers over them, and cuddling up close. "You can take them off in the morning."

His voice turns serious. "Cali, you need to understand that I am a lowlife. I'm a thief. I'm a spy. I'm a killer. I'm not a good person."

He kisses her shoulder. "And no. As far as I can tell, the night monsters appeared around fifty years ago. If something appears, it can be removed."

Azhar finds something sturdy enough to tie the rope too on this end and does so. He grins at Amaya, glances at the others who have not yet made the leap. "See you on the other side?" and acrobatics: 1d20 + 3 - 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 - 3 = 1 "oiks" promptly trips over his own feet in the general direction of the other side, falls past the stairs and the opening..and tumbles towards it again 12 seconds later. He turns up towards Melilot grinning, "You were right, that is kind of fun." He looks like he wants to stay to assist others, realizes that there is no room to do so and reluctantly moves farther in so that others may jump unimpeded.

Amaya and Mathalen make the tumbling jump easily. Fiosa tries quite admirably but falls from view, then reappears above. A goofy grin of pleasure on her face as she snags the rope and pulls herself over the the group. Janiven, still in rear guard, also makes the jump.

Gozran 21 - Hall of Special Guests

The opening leads to a hallway intersected by another hallway lined with doors. Each stout wooden door has smoky glass inset at eye level. Looking down the hall, ten of the twelve doors are barred from the outside and two hang slightly ajar.

The first of the open cells contains only a simple straw mattress. No sign of combat or that the room were occupied, the interior perfectly clean.

The second open cell does show sign of a struggle, the straw mattress torn asunder but no blood in the room. There is a softly glowing red glaive on the ground.

Once Cassian determines it is safe, you find that touching the smoky glass clears it, allowing a view of the interior of the cells. The ten locked cells are not identical, but each contains the same set: simple straw mattress and (normally lying on the mattress) the preserved, mummified remains of the prisoner who had been held in the cell.

Gravlax shakes his head at the mummified remains behind the glass.

Gozran 21 - Hall of Special Guests

Rev or Detect Magic:
It is a little hard to distinguish magical auras ever since you came through the looking glass door in the attic, because the entire structure is strongly magically.

However, the cells do have a distinct aura of faint conjuration.

Additionally, the glaive radiates moderate transmutation and is a +1 keen glaive.

When Azhar takes up the glaive there is a slight urge, an idea, that it is a fine weapon, well suited for plunging into the abdomen of that archer. Or the blind halfling. Or the pretty foreigner with purple eyes. Or the small blonde one. Or even the wanna-be paladin.

Azhar is in no way compeled to act on this suggestion, but it is there. Although easily ignored at this time.

I am not assuming any of the previous rooms are finished, but since I think them unlikely to kill you at this point, I am moving along with the dungeon crawl mode.

Gozran 21 - River of Tears

Moving on from the prisoner cells, you descend down a twisted staircase ending in a finely made marble door carved with the image of horned nymphs basking near steaming water. As best as any of you can tell it is neither locked nor trapped.

Opening the door, you find a long room, a domed ceiling sagging, with long mildewy strips of wood paneling hanging down from above like drooping branches. A large pool of churning muddy water that smells of a bog and rot fills much of the room, flowing down a trough further into the room between a pair of slippery stairs to gather in a smaller pool beyond. Dozens of bones lie scattered along the five-foot-wide ledge that surrounds the pool.

A pause in dungeon crawl mode... which I forgot to mention was back on after the shadows... The following rolls are considered 'stressed'.

A) Perception DC 28:
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
Hiding beneath the surface of the muddy fetid water are four creatures, their lampry eyes turning in the direction of your group.

If you are reading this, please post your surprise round action. You have either a move or a standard action. The creatures are about thirty feet away from the group, which is still near (or passing through) the entryway.

A and B1) K:religion DC 11:
The creatures in the water are undead flesh eaters known as lacedons, aquatic versions of the slightly more common ghoul.
A and B2) K:religion DC 13:
One of the four, slightly larger, is actually an aquatic version of a ghast, a far more powerful cousin to the ghoul.
A and B3) K:religion DC 16:
Ghouls have a touch that paralyzes, a perfect means to trap their favorite food - still living flesh.
A and B4) K:religion DC 18:
In addition to having a far nastier paralytic touch, ghasts exude an odor of rot and death that overwhelms anything living near it.
A and C) Sense Motive DC 15:
The largest of the four creatures looks similar to the undead creature that Drowned Jabe was turned into.

The old man's bushy eyebrow rises, "Your ears may be a bit pointed but I don't think you'll pass for one of the elves and they don't allow others into their capital." Jask, at least, is not at all offended by this, after all if there weren't differences in cultures the world would be far too bland.

A pause, "I remember being that young." The voice wistful.

Larko
His tone does indicate a positive familiarity, but it is neither familial nor romantic, more professional.

Larko shakes his head, "Only if you need to wet your whistle." Explanation, simple and straightforward, "I'm not really a drinker."

River of Tears - Surprise Round

four creatures in the water Melilot observes as she casually lobs a bullet at one of them. The stone smacks into the water and not much further.

One of the creatures that emerges from the muck is far more broken than its companions, but that doesn't seem to affect it, nor the larger one, from moving easily through the water towards Azhar. The creature, damaged by Melilot, does not survive Azhar's prepared weapon. Its body falls and sinks into the water, adding to the disgusting soup of rot.

Two of the creatures pull out of the muck onto the slimy marble bath. The last one just moves forward, arms reaching for the woman who just headed through the door.

Anyone who was unable to do so earlier can attempt rolls B and C in THIS post.

Amaya looks long and hard at Azhar choosing to keep a safe distance away from him, her eyes dark.

Cassian could not be less impressed. Either that, or he's just not listening.
"Sorry, that was a slight misstatement." Azhar says a little dryly, "It specifically did not include Cassian and my brother." His eyes glance at someone else in the group as well, though he does not name her.

Sense Motive DC 20 or Perception DC 20:
Azhar glances at Mathalen.

Round 1:
5' step to the left (i.e. "west" on the map), thump the critter with a sling staff melee attack.

To Hit: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (20) + 13 = 33
Damage: 1d4 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13

Potential Crit confirmation: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (16) + 13 = 29
Potential additional damage (add to above): 1d4 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12

Text: Melilot takes a step back and taps the creature in front of her on the forehead with her slingshot.
