Azhar/Melilot:

"So you're not dead," Gravlax says, coiling his rope and putting it away. "Good. Amaya was getting worried."

Mathalen looks at the rope, one eyebrow raising. "If you get yourself killed, I will be quite cross with you." As she takes her end of the rope. Gravlax touches the metallic-seeming surface and, like for the previous two, the surface warps. Gravlax is gone from the room.

So is Mathalen.

A few moments later, looking ill, Mathalen rematerializes in front of the door. A shrug, "It's two-way."

"That's two I owe you," Cassian says to Mathalen as he goes through the door.

GM:
Gozran 15/Calseinica
Cassian grins as she comes, slowly leveraging her hips upward to gain greater depth. He does not seem to want to move, more intent on keeping her pinned beneath him, prolonging her sensation and his, merely luxuriating in the feel of her. He allows only the slight movement of her body and his stimulate them.

Gozran 21 - Through the Looking Glass

As soon as you touch the metal, you are overwhelmed by a sense of vertigo. Of falling and standing and bending all at once. The sensation clouding over your eyes in near-faint for a instant. And in the same gut-wrenching moment it is done.

Everyone finds themselves in a long corridor, the metal doors at their backs. The walls, the floor, the ceiling, everything paneled in a gray wood that looks ancient, worn, and strongly-new at the same time. There are several empty alcoves along the length of the hall, the room lit dimly but not from any particular source. The dim light causes shadows that dance in the corners, at the edge of your vision seeming to reach for you.

About twenty feet away, between the first two alcoves, there is a slumped figure dressed in ancient tattered robes. A close glance shows the elf to be dead, the deep stab wounds in his chest and belly seeming almost fresh. Near his right hand are two scrolls, their faces blank, used. The source, no doubt, of the old, well-used backpack filled with old scrolls.

Amaya glares at Azhar for worrying her, when it would (apparently) have been easy to put her mind at ease. Once everyone is ready... start dungeon crawl mode.

The Howling Hall

This wood-paneled hall rises to a height of twenty feet above, and a single fifteen-foot-high shelf filled sparsely with books runs along the wall. Eerie wisps of shadowy fog coil and writhe on the floor, which unlike the walls seems to be made of polished black stone.

There is an eerie low howl as you come into the dim hallway, although no one is able to spot the source of the animal sounds. The books on the shelves are old and generally focused on methods of torture - interrogation for fun and profit and for just pleasure but not generally for the one being tortured.

Appraise DC 20:
The full collection of 120 books would be worth a few thousand to the right collector.
A) Perception DC 20:
One of the books just doesn't fit with the general collection, being thicker and in far better shape. The title, in Common, is Drowned Jabe and His Miserable Brothers and Sisters. It tells the tale of a thief who came into a place called the Asmodean Knot and drowned there. He was cursed to live on after death.
A and Intelligence DC 10 (no take-10):
The Asmodean Knot being the vault of Aberian's Folly, which you have hopefully found.

Although the echoing howling continues on sending up shivers of the less stout as you search the room, it seems relatively safe. Opening the other door leads to...

The Tower of Perpetuity

This boggling chamber is a square shaft, the walls featuring a spiraling stone stairway that winds up to the left and down to the right. Yet following the stairs with the eye as they wind up to the left, impossibly, brings one right back to the initial landing. There is no floor below or ceiling above, only an endless shaft dropping away into a dimly lit infinity. A second flight of stairs leads up to one side of the room into another hallway, while a third flight descends down in the wall opposite into yet another hall.

Perception DC 25 Perception:
Along the stairs, opposite from where you entered the stonework is discolored, suggesting a rotating secret door.

Cassian:
Gozran 15/Calseinica
Her eyes flutter open, an amazed smile playing over her lips. The small movements of her hips changes from desperate instinct to more controlled. Her stocking leg moves against his leg, "I've been imagining how that would feel since last night." Her blush traveling down her body to stain her breasts.

"Those books are worth a couple thousand gold." Cassian taps one of the books, muttering, "You're not as good as I am."

GM:
Gozran 15/Calseinica
"Oh?" he says, lifting her legs and setting them on his shoulders but otherwise remaining still. "I should have been more careful. I didn't mean to turn the jewel of Westcrown into a wanton harlot."

Cassian:
Gozran 15/Calseinica
Her skin goes a deeper shade as more blood runs to the surface, hot. Her embarrassment doesn't stop the musical moan of pleasure as her body shifts around him. She bites on her lower lip, "Then you shouldn't have shaved me... It makes ever feeling so much... more." Her head turning slightly, trying to hid the shame at the truth of his words. And trying to hide that she isn't as shamed as she feels she should be.

Gravlax:
Gozran 13/very very happy indeed
She rubs her head against his hand softly, using her arms to push up, then slide over, so she straddles his waist. Looking down, dark eyes happy, her hands moving lightly from his chest to his shoulders. "And what would you like to talk about while..." Yep, her ears are quite red.

As she thinks about his question, lower lip being pulled into her mouth so she can worry at it, Azhar has a chance to observe the tien girl closely. Although it isn't obvious yet, he can see the start of dark circles beneath her jewel-like eyes. "I..." shakes her head, "No, sorry."

His hand comes up, cupping her jaw and cheek. A look of concern as he stares into her face. "You haven't been able to rest at all during the day, have you?" he asks, though it is not really a question. "I do want to spend time with you, but not at the expense of your health. Perhaps just a short walk in the cool night air? I'm sorry, love, I shouldn't have been thinking only of myself. I wanted to see you so much, I didn't think about how it might affect you as well." he looks visibly upset with himself, before he forces his expression to clear, replaced with his amiable smile filled with love for the girl before him. "Will you walk with me?"

Rev:
Spellcraft of 25 in previous GM spoiler
Firmly in 1d2 ⇒ 1 Azhar's hands (unless someone else claims it on the ooc board, in which case in that person's hands) is the tattered page with the passwords written on it. The main text of the page is written in Infernal, which Rev can read, and what he sees there is... not good.

Incorporated onto the text is a runecurse a special magical curse favored by Chelish assassins and conjurers to destroy their enemies from afar. It is a complex pact between a spellcaster and a specific named devil in which the devil has agreed to track down and slay the current owner of the runecursed object. This can happen quickly, sometimes it can take days or weeks. Not normally longer than that.

Being a Infernal curse, the ownership does not have to be intentional, as long as there is a chance for the recipient to possibly notice the cursed document, it can be gifted.

Rule Number 1) Do not destroy the runecursed document as this makes it impossible to transfer ownership.

Ownership can be ended with a remove curse or similar magics.

It can also be given away, as long as the gift recipient has a chance of realizing the meaning of the gift (so in a bag with a bunch of scrolls is legit, sewed into the lining of a jacket is not).

Should the runecurse ownership be transferred back to the spellcaster who created the pact, the devil will appear immediately to kill the owner.

The door doesn't seem to be trapped and Rev clears it as magic-free.

The secret door rotates to reveal a tiny trapezoidal shaped room. Two mirrors of weird black metal hang on the opposite walls of this trapezoidal room. Strange shadowy figures writhe in the mirrors, and they do not seem to reflect light as much as absorb it.

A light seems to flare in the dark surface and a shadowy, inkish figure with an alien menace drifts free from the black material its elongated arms reaching for Melilot.

"So I guess I'll leave the final decision on this matter up to you. What would you rather do?" his hands continue to slip down to the soft flesh of her buttocks, but just rest on the surface for now.

Cassian rolls off of Calseinica, wrapping her up in an affectionate hug. He cuddles close to her until his stomach growls. He gets up, bringing the food back onto the bed, snacking with one hand on his girl.

"So, Cali... I think it's high time you tell me about yourself."

GM:

Gozran 13/very very happy indeed

He looks at her, and doesn't look away again, even though he flushes as she speaks.

"I..." He swallows. "Yes," he says. "That..."

His eyes glisten, and his smile is gentle. "I will," he says.

He continues to look at her, at a loss for further words.

Azhar:
Gozran 15/late night
She moves against his hand, ever so slightly, almost as if she can't quite help it. "If you had a definite plan, like tracking down the gargoyle that hurt Mathalen, I would very much like to do that."

That slightly hint of practicality, no doubt inherited from Yuuki, "But if you don't have anything planned... then it would probably be better if I got a full night's sleep."

Cassian:
Gozran 15/Calseinica
She cuddles into him in an almost boneless languor, her eyes almost shut as her mind floats. There is a soft, sleepy protest as he moves away and she curls up, keeping her own body heat close.

Her eyes open fully with the comment, "I think you know most..." She thinks, "My favorite color is green. But every time I try to wear it, my skin looks sallow and corpse-like, so I have almost nothing in the color." A soft smile, "What do you want to know?"

Gravlax:
Gozran 13/very very happy indeed
He feels just the flutter of movement in his hands, as if she intended to move her hands then realized he was holding them and did not want to pull away. Instead, her upper body closes with his, her slight form warm above him. She kisses his neck, a soft whisper that reaches his ear, "Yes."

Her body slides against his for just a moment before she breaks the armless hug. She smiles down at him. Quiet for a long time... or at least until he seems to have regained himself.

Then, and only then (unless he preempts it with another action), "I believe that if I had won, I would have had one wish." Her smile get a little wider, a little brighter. "And I would have asked for a foot massage."

Bluff: 1d20 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 2 + 4 = 9

Azhar tries to hide the sadness behind his smile. "Yeah, unfortunately I think you're right." He sighs, "I would like to go after the gargoyle, but the chances of yielding results tonight would likely be slim to none anyway. Like Gravlax said, I can't easily track something that flies through the air." his focus returns to her and how much she seems to mean to him. "Well, I'm sorry I cost you some of your rest, but I am still very glad I was able see you tonight." his lips close enough to hers that she can feel his warm breathing sense his desire. His hands, perhaps subconsciously, slip lower.

He regains himself relatively quickly. In more ways than one, which becomes evident before he has the chance to answer properly.

He leans up and brings her hands to his lips, kissing in turn her wrists at the pulse point, and the palm of each hand. His lips are warm. He lets go of her hands, and settles back down. "Foot massage," he says, his smile growing to match hers, "noted."

GM:
Gozran 15/Calseinica
Cassian snaps the lining of Calseinica's stockings. "Why did you become an actress? And what do you want to do to the Wiscrani conception of drama?" he asks, idly eating olives.

Azhar:
Gozran 15/late night
She smiles, "I'm sure that you will figure out a means to find it." Easy confidence in her tone. "Tomorrow night?"

Not moving away at all, not moving any closer. Not objecting to the roaming hands.

Cassian:
Gozran 15/Calseinica
She looks down at his hand on her leg, then further down, realizing she still has one the heel with a blush. She turns so she can look at him, "At first it was because it is the only thing to do if you want to sing. And whenever I tried for a part and didn't get it, but was a understudy, they also had me sing in the chorus."

Her eyes get a little far, her smile brightening her face in a different way than it does for him, "The energy that you get even doing that is..." she shrugs, "And then when Delour got hurt and I got to take her role. It's one of the most amazing feelings."

Her face dims a bit, "The lighter plays aren't like Larazod. I mean there is normally scheming and conniving... but I don't ever want to be in another production like that again." Her eyes disturbed, "I don't understand why the actual blood and torture is seen a benefit."

She shrugs, "Now that it is done, I need to find a better way to judge plays beforehand." Her voice quiet, [smaller]"And even if they aren't as popular... I think I'll stick to the ones were I get to be someone I like... most of the time."

Gravlax:
Gozran 13/hmmm happiness
She shivers as his kisses her pulse, the vibration traveling through her to him. She smiles, nods. "Said I wasn't as nice as you."

She moves, up, down his body just a bit, then down. Her body, tensed and ready, pulsing. Her lids hooded, she looks down, "See... alive..."

She undulates slightly, "And alive is... good."

Tower of Perpetuity - Round 1

Janiven shoots at the shadow, a low if virulent curse as the projectile passes through the creature harmlessly. Her sharp green eyes watch the movement of the creature and the black mirrors from which it emerged. Having heard stories of dark creatures that fear the light, Amaya casts a cantrip on her crossbow, light streaming from the surface. The shadow does not seem negatively affected by the light as...

Its inky paw swipes at Melilot, although she is able to twitch away from it, then floats past her through the wall, seeming unconcerned about your ability to attack it. (The creature's movement would provoke AoO from Azhar, Fiosa, and Melilot - except they are flat-footed and do not have combat reflexes.) As the creature floats above the endless pit, its blank head examining its prey, the black mirrors flash again, another of the creatures pulling from the surface.

Gravlax pulls out a small mirror, and compares what he sees in the mirror to what he sees without the mirror.

Gravlax:
The image reflected in Gravlax's hand mirror matches that which his eyes saw.

Fiosa moves back, not wanting to be anywhere close to the shadow creatures and also giving Melilot a place to stand that is not threatened by the creatures. She makes a low sound of fear when she sees a second shadow has pulled itself free from the black metal and a wave of positive energy washes over everyone, sunlight bright, burning at the shadows. (1d6 ⇒ 3;1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 4 + 2 = 161d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 2 = 10)

Melilot, as she had indicated, takes a step back and flicks two metal spheres towards the shadowy figure which had moved into the room. Her first stone tears through the substance of the shadow, dragging away half of its body, leaving it less. Her second stone was aimed to low and starts to fall after pinging off the stone.

Azhar, who had been waiting for Melilot to move, takes a step, flanking the shadow that moved into the room with Cassian. Having seen non-magical weapons leave the creature unscathed, but Melilot's slingstaff work (and because of Rev's advice), Azhar draws his morningstar rather than his sword. His blow is strong, destroying the remainder of the shadow Melilot had damaged.

Badly out of position for the newly appeared shadow, the only thing Cassian can do is loose an arrow at the shadow. The flight of the arrow is promising, but it passes through the inky black creature as if it wasn't there hitting the black surface beyond. The shadow silently hisses at the rogue in anger.

Round 2:
With a sigh, Cassian puts his bow away and draws his rapier, curious to see if anything will get through the gauntlet of Melilot and Azhar.

GM:
Gozran 15/Calseinica
"It all comes back to Delour's injury. If I were a suspicious man, I'd think the Asmodeans were behind it. Something about you being a different caliber of woman than Delour. Or at the very least, several sizes smaller."

Cassian leans back with an expansive yawn, senses sated with food and sex. [b]"I'm glad you're not a fan of that play. I didn't really see much merit in it. Maybe a show with some plot, character, that kind of thing. Once you get some money together, I'd wager you could open a theater of your own. Do what you wanted."

His hands cup under her, lifting her up and against him just below the waist where she may choose to wrap her legs around him to support herself or not. If she does his hands move to her lower back, if not, they stay where they are, supporting her. His head turns, his ear resting on her upper chest, listening to her heart beat. "Amaya, you make me so happy. Tomorrow night. Yes. And I will see you again later this morning. Promise me you will get a good night's rest?" he draws back to look up into her face...and admire her, whether she realizes it or not.
