I completely agree. The last thing we want is to be molested by golems.

If it goes to an NPC, it should be one of the three auto-includes: Amaya, Janven, Mathalen.

Then I will vote that we give it to Mathalen.

She's had a rough day.

Male Aasimar Ranger Skirmisher 16

Sounds good to me. What about the Talisman? Does anyone have any idea on whether it would be more likely to draw attention (in which case Azhar would not mind wearing it), or more protective in which case someone else should probably wear/use it (and Azhar would of course be preferential towards Amaya).

female half-elf witch 15

"Although the talisman radiates an overwhelming aura of conjuration, it doesn't seem to have any magical properties anymore."

I'd say, go ahead and claim it and wear it.

Male Aasimar Ranger Skirmisher 16

got it. and so be it.

Male Aasimar Ranger Skirmisher 16

I did find this among my notes:
"Find the talisman of the twin to stagger the devil."

female half-elf witch 15

Looking back through the thread to figure out where that came from, I found that one of the prophecies made by the weird imp-doctor Livia was "Find the talisman of the twin to sicken the devil." It was in response to a question of Gravlax's which was essentially, Tell me something useful.

So there ya go. It probably has a deleterious effect on Liebdaga. Good to know.

Male Human Mobile Fighter 14 Acrobat 2

What does the Terran-etched ring actually say?

Male Aasimar Ranger Skirmisher 16

"who so where's this ring shall be proclaimed dirt"

Just kidding, of course

female half-elf witch 15

"No moleste, por favor."

Male Human Mobile Fighter 14 Acrobat 2

No mass?

Male Human Rogue 15/Shadowcaster 1

"Molested by Golems" was the working title of my second novel.

female half-elf witch 15

Whereas the working title of the first Hobbit movie was "Molested by Gollum".

Male Human Rogue 15/Shadowcaster 1

And the tulip trade was known as "Molested by Holland."

Male Human Mobile Fighter 14 Acrobat 2

no claims, then

female half-elf witch 15

No moleste, in case anyone was wondering what that was about.

OK, I'll be leaving for a long trip in a couple of days. I'll try to check in once a day or so, but there will likely be times when this is easy and times when this is impossible. If I'm in a flex scene with you, assume I'm just there in the background cracking wise. I'll leave a combat plan for Zsz below for Mana.

GM:
If I'm the last person to post in a combat scenario, feel free to puppet. Against anything but the pit fiend, Zsz would most likely use hair. If applicable, she might use spells that wouldn't work against the pit fiend anyway, like charm person or dominate person.

Against the pit fiend, she would hang back and try to help turn the battle with spells, hoping for a couple of lucky rolls (good to overcome spell resistance, bad save on its part) to at least temporarily incapacitate it. She'd go with her highest level spells first, so probably something like:
Hold Monster
Overwhelming Grief
Unadulterated Loathing (with the subject being someone it was in battle with and would therefore have a hard time getting away from)
Lightning Bolt
Blindness
Ill Omen
Ray of Enfeeblement

She would only give up and use other tactics (likely attacking with hair) if it became obvious that its spell resistance was simply too high for her to overcome.

If she gets injured, she would not be averse to casting False Life upon herself or using one of her potions or Cure spells. If she's down to the point that only Resiliency is keeping her up, she might retreat, at least temporarily, to heal herself.

After the dungeon, Assuming-We-Survive, there are some flex scenes I very much want to start. :)

Male Human Rogue 15/Shadowcaster 1

Male Aasimar Ranger Skirmisher 16

Male Aasimar Ranger Skirmisher 16

Mele Kalikimaka and Hauoli Maka Hiki Hou.

Merry Christmas to you all (at least for a *tiny* bit longer here in Hawaii).

female half-elf witch 15

Is the crystal ball broken, destroyed, or something else?

As of handily defeating Liebdage the Twin, you guys have reached 11th level.

LOOT POST - NESSIAN SPIRAL VII (Clean-up)

broken crystal ball (0 gp - would cost 10,500 gp to repair or a 20th level caster casting make whole. Could be sold for 21,000 gp)
3,596 gp worth of raw materials and reagents for magic item production (from Zovarue's lab)

Male Human Rogue 15/Shadowcaster 1

Leveled.

It is broken not destroyed.

Which means my numbers in the Loot Post may be wrong

Cassian Merro wrote:

Both Cassian and Rygel look good.

Male Aasimar Ranger Skirmisher 16

said this earlier, but this time with corrected spelling:
Hauoli Makahiki Hou!

...and leveled (aside from items you are aware of)

female half-elf witch 15

GM:
Hey, there. Couple of questions -

First, just wondering if (a) certain items might be available, and (b) there would be enough downtime to get them in the case of upgrades:

Buy Circlet of Persuasion
Upgrade Headband of Vast Intelligence to +6
Upgrade Cloak of Resistance to +2
(possibly) Buy scroll of Breath of Life
(possibly) Buy scroll of Break Enchantment

Second -

Zsz is leveled, but I definitely oriented her leveling to the idea that she would be attempting to use Charm Monster on Joriavah ... Taking Leadership as a feat so Zsz could gain her as a cohort, taking teleportation as a spell so Zsz and Joriavah could go traveling together most days and thereby lessen the risk that Joriavah would get stuck in Westcrown and get bored (will need to figure out if the dolls can come most times, sometimes, or if that would be a really, really bad idea.) The scrolls listed above are things I am considering buying for Joriavah to keep on hand in case things work out, so to speak.

So I guess what I'm saying is I'm going ahead with it, and we'll see how this goes ...

Male Human Mobile Fighter 14 Acrobat 2

I believe I am leveled on both sheets.

I know a number of you are wanting Tarvi and Amaya to work on magic items for you. If you can please let me know which item you want first so I can budget their downtime please.

female half-elf witch 15

GM:
If there is enough downtime, I would love it if Tarvi/Amaya were able to work on the two items I mentioned as looking to upgrade (the headband and the cloak). I was operating under the assumption that they wouldn't have any time, but if they do, for either, I would probably go for an upgrade to a +3 cloak instead of a +2 cloak.

Point to clarify -

While I'm not doing custom magic items, I am allowing two standard magic items (like a cloak of resistance and muleback cords) to be combined with the standard 150% price increase on the second item added in.

As for the Tarvi and Amaya, if at any point before they have started an item, you can always buy it at full price to get it immediately - since there is a great deal for them to do.

However, thanks to Cassian and Azhar, they both have the ability to craft and have a real life (or go on jobs with you) since they both were given rings of sustenance.

Zsz:
Which one first?

Because to be fair I'm going to do one item for each PC first before doing a second item for the same PC.

female half-elf witch 15

GM:
I'd prefer the headband get priority, since that would save more money, but that's also a three-week task, so if there likely isn't going to be enough downtime for that and everyone else's stuff I'd be happy to ask them to do the cloak and get the headband full price.

Male Human Rogue 15/Shadowcaster 1

GM:
My swords are the priority, followed by bracers for Rygel. If there's more time, I'd probably move onto my armor.

Male Human Rogue 15/Shadowcaster 1

I'm assuming all magic items manufactured by the ladies will bear the maker's mark of T&A Enterprises.

...wait, I didn't think that name through.

Male Aasimar Ranger Skirmisher 16

Uh, huh. Suuuure you didn't. :p

female half-elf witch 15

GM:
Would like to make a minor change w/r/t leveling and take Guards and Wards instead of Cone of Cold, since I'm creating a living space.

Zsz:
Not a problem. I have the headband in the line-up after Azhar's belt, but it will take 10 days. Let me know if you want that to be the cloak instead.

Male Human Mobile Fighter 14 Acrobat 2

GM:
So ... something like a Belt of Giant Strength +6?

Male Human Mobile Fighter 14 Acrobat 2

GM:

Or if easier, ask T&A Enterprises to make a Belt of Giant Strength +4.

And commission (at full price somewhere else) an Amulet of Mighty Fists +0 Ghost Touch. As I believe such a thing may exist. Whether Mathalen will have anything further to do with Gravlax, of course, remains to be seen.

female half-elf witch 15

GM:
Sounds great. I will let them work on the headband, and simply buy any upgrades to the cloak full price. Thanks!

Male Human Mobile Fighter 14 Acrobat 2

GM:
Oh, and let me know if you want to know what the The Raven -> Gravlax looks like from the outside.

female half-elf witch 15

GM:
A few questions and comments, whenever you have the time.

The townhouse: Without going so far as to create a specific floorplan, my goal for the townhouse is to have one unwarded area for guests, business, etc. (presumably the area nearest to the front door), one unwarded floor for living (this would be the sub-basement), and use the Lyre to turn the rest into a maze of corridors, side passages, doors, and stairways. As my optional effect I'm going to put a "Turn around and go home" suggestion at a chokepoint.

I'm buying several more superior locks, so with the automatic arcane lock from guards and wards that will put the DC at 50 for a number of doors. I'll also make them barred doors for a DC 35 strength check to break.

I'd also like to metal plate the living area to foil passwall, stone-shape, etc. According to the internet, 1/8 inch iron plating weighs 5 pounds per square foot, and the SRD says iron costs 1 sp per pound, meaning the gp value would equal half the square footage. So, assuming a 40' by 20' protected living space with a nice 20' ceiling height, that's 4000 square feet for walls, ceiling, and floor, or 2,000 gp for the material and free installation from the Lyre. Sound reasonable?

Joriavah:Some minor questions about Joriavah:

1) As a cohort, does she level automatically with me? Or under your rules, will I need to take her on side adventures in flextime for her to level? (Since her accompanying the group is currently problematic.)

2) On a related note, I'd like to discuss with you some ways to make her a functional cohort ... The emergency spells/scrolls idea was one - would it be possible for you to give me an idea of her current cleric level? (I understand if you don't wish to.) Gathering information/rumors might be another, especially for my chronically k:local-deprived character ... Basically, would like to chat about this sometime.

Thanks!

Zsz:
The townhouse looks good - don't see anything that isn't absolutely valid under the rules.

Feel free to chat me re Joriavah whenever i'm online. Sorry about the delay, I have been ill.

Okay peoples!

Before I move on the scene to jumping the not-quite-human man, I just want to give you a chance to purchase any items that you want to use in that or give you a chance for some other kind of preparation.

I hope to start this scene before I crash out tonight.

Did this ever get recalculated?

GM:
Just FYI, I have started a "Cohort" section on my character sheet. At the moment, it reads:

--------------------
COHORT
--------------------
Joriavah, Succubus cleric of Nocticula
Equipment given: Scroll of Breath of Life, Ring of Feather Fall, 3800 gp
Charmed with Charm Monster, recast 6 times every 9th day and 6 times every 10th day (total of 12 castings)

Notes: I'm still debating the number of castings, but at the moment, that means on any given adventuring day, on a roll of 1 on a d5 Zsz would be down 6 spells.

In terms of equipment, naturally I'm just listing what I've given her, since I do not know what she might have had already or bought since.

Zszdiirajss Maeettndar wrote:

Why look at that, a loot post that time forgot.... since there were no requests for it...
