Val eliminates one of the human zombies as they are more powerful
Raskir bites into a zombie severely damaging it and Jayla stabs one to no effect.
Forgot rapier was piercing before. Lets say Xavice took down K4 and I will put K8 back on the board.
Alvoise and Henric still need to post. Then zombies.
Alvoise of Karcau |
Alvoise tugs at his throwing axe embedded in the zombie’s skull. He recovers it with the sound of bone splitting but decides to attack the zombie in front of him with his rapier before his uses his axe again.
Round 3
Move action: Grab his throwing axe from K1 zombie’s skull
Standard action: melee attack against K2
Rapier: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23 damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Did K1's DR for slashing count against the first attack? I just realized it might not be dead...
Henric Xantrian |
Whoops, forgot a sword cane was piercing. Gonna need to get me a slashing weapon.
As the kobold zombie clumsily lunges for him, Henric steps calmly aside, keeping his free arm folded in the small of his back like a nobleman at a ball - and, conveniently, putting himself out of reach of the second zombie. "Such pitiful things," he mutters, before stabbing at the one before him again.
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Xaikon Traxnik |
Xaikon should get a slashing backup melee weapon too.
I will await for updated map before doing next action. Due to damage reduction, no damage was done. Last attack as no affect on which target was used, so can be change accordingly without needing to bring back the dead, again.

Henric Xantrian |
Henric's jaw tightens as the clumsy swing of the kobold zombie connects with his hip, leaving a stinging sensation rattling through the joint. "A lucky blow," he sighs, with the same detached coldness. He stabs at it again, ignoring the other undead.

Xaikon seeing the zombie fall before her, she quickly moves to her left to going around Henric left to attack the remaining dead kobold by Henric.
Dagger (slash) attack: 1d20 ⇒ 15
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Henric Xantrian |
The blow from the zombie is the kind of clumsy swing that normally wouldn't hurt at all, but it manages to hit the same spot on Henric's hip, sending a new jolt of pain down his leg. Though he stoops momentarily on that side, he remains silent as he attempts to run the undead beast through.
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15 on K7.
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Alvoise of Karcau |
Impressed with Raskir’s mauling of the zombie, Alvoise steps over the destroyed body, moving behind the zombie Jayla is fighting. He attempts to stab the undead monster in the back.
Round 4

and then Valeria destroy it. The fight is over.
You can go up to level 2.
Xaikon Traxnik |
After the last zombie falls to the ground, she then goes about searching their bodies for anything useful, cutting out arrow heads for new arrows, and nearby areas.
As she searches the bodies, "I think we should have these bodies, if possible to do so. Really don't want them walking again."
Jayla Talusia |
Jayla looks over the corpses as she comments.
"Leave them, remove the heads and it saves you the trouble."
"Valeria, may i have a word with you? I would be interested to learn the draconic tongue. It seems it will be of use in our situation."
Picked up a linguistics rank, hence...
Valeria Avila Leonard |
"Man, I'm a one woman wrecking crew. Wiping a group from start to finish."
"I think we should burn the bodies to make sure they don't rise up again and to stop any possibility of spreading a disease."
Val replies to Jayla
"I would not mind teaching you, though learning to use the throat and not the tongue to get the words right is a challenge for some."
Raskir Windspeaker |
Since capturing the kobolds, Raskir spends an unusual amount of time listening to their reptilian language and even attempting to speak to them. Through some combination of intuition and spirit guidance, he feels like he is beginning to understand them.
Xaikon Traxnik |
Xaikon walks back to the group, holding a few items, "I found these weapons, I believe they belong to kobolds from their size. Also found these Sunrods and these coins, which I keep the coins for us to divid up later.", before placing the coins into her backpack. "Anyone wants any of the weapons, I take one of the sunrods.
Alvoise of Karcau |
Alvoise inspects a bolo for a minute before returning it to Xaikon. ”I don’t know who’d buy it, but it wouldn’t hurt to try once we reach Numeria. Onwards? Valeria, you want to tell our kobold guides that we’re ready to leave?”
Xaikon, thanks for tracking the acquisitions.
DireMerc |
Checking the bodies you notice that a lot of them have had their brains removed.
Finding nothing else in the room with all the bodies. You move on to the next chamber in this complex of caverns. The damp walls of this next cavern display a bewildering variety of obscure and esoteric symbols painted in bright, clashing colors and pigments.
the symbols on the walls as relating to the myriad gods and beings of the Dark Tapestry.
Henric Xantrian |
Knowledge (religion): 1d20 + 8 + 1d6 ⇒ (12) + 8 + (1) = 21 1 rank, +3 class skill, +4 int, + inspiration
"Incorrect," Henric points out as he cleans his sword on a handkerchief. "These are zombies, mindless reanimated bodies. They require very little of their organs. After all, a skeleton can be reanimated with no soft tissues whatsoever, can it not?" He runs a hand over the symbols on the walls, frowning as he does so. "Most unusual. These symbols relate to the various beings and deities of the Dark Tapestry - the dark places between and beyond the stars. I've never seen such a concentration of them. Whoever painted these must be some manner of madman."
Craft (alchemy): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29 Probably a waste of time, but is there anything unusual about the paints and pigments?
Xaikon Traxnik |
Xaikon takes a shirt from one of the human zombie's bodies so to wrap up the items to keep them together and places the items into her backpack.
"Interesting who ever created the walking dead, that they removed the brains.", as she follows the others out of the cavern.
In the new cavern, she walks with Henric to study the strange symbols painted on the wall trying to recognise any, yet shakes her head upon giving up, and listening to Henric's explanation of the symbols.
"I agree Valeria, but who are these Dark Tapestry..."
Henric Xantrian |
Henric raises an eyebrow at the questions, but speaks anyway. "My studies at Lepidstadt were anatomical rather than astronomical or theological, but I know a little of the Dark Tapestry." He taps his cane against one of the symbols, inspecting the pigment that rubs off. "The stars are the realm of Desna, as you all know. But her power is not absolute, and the dark places between the stars house all manner of... entities, and mysteries. In space, there is no heat, no sound, no light, no air. There is nothing. In theory, it is incapable of sustaining life." He pauses, rubbing the tip of his cane between his fingers, again inspecting the pigment. "However, there are some beings capable of surviving it. Those creatures able to survive in the void of space - in the Dark Tapestry, as scholars call it; the space between the stars - are far too alien for even the gods to comprehend. True madness lies in store for any mortal who attempts to understand them."
DireMerc |
As you discuss the issue you hear a slithering sound as a creature approaches.
As you view the creature you see....
Roll a will save. Dc 16.
This creature has a passive defensive ability were it scans your minds and projects illusions from your memories in order to distract you. This takes effect as soon as you look upon the creature. What you see will actually depend on the character, it will be something from his/her past that would be unsettling to them. Causing them to be shaken until the creature is far away or no longer conscious. Actually I think you can still see the creature in addition to the illusions it says "it constantly scans the minds of those around it, projecting around itself a confusing collage of images gleaned from their thoughts"
If you make the save you see the creature as what it actually looks like.
A swollen, brainlike bulb encrusted with fungal shelves squats atop several ropy legs. A wide mouth bisects the bulb's crown.
Creature
Knowledge nature to identify the creature.
Jayla Talusia |
Jayla looks at the place where the sound was coming from.
Will: 1d20 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 4 = 12
Jayla sees the image of a Vexgit gremlin. Sadistic tech-eating critters.
Opposed to something she fears, she knows it is something that poses risk to "people" like herself.
She isn't shaken however.
Remarkable that one of those things would appear here.
Xaikon Traxnik |
Will save: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 4 + 2 = 12
She turns her head towards the sound, only to be flooded with images of past battles with humans filling her view of the strange creature. She tries to shake her mind to rid the images that are disturbing her.
Alvoise of Karcau |
No knowledge skills either.
”The Dark Tapestry?” Alvoise says as he stares at the patterns trying to remember if he’s ever seen these before. He turns his head slightly to look at Henric. ”Beyond the stars? You mean the various planes? Do you have any idea how old this is, or who might have painted it?”
Alvoise peers around the chamber. ”Why paint it here? What’s special about this area? Is it an antechamber to an underground temple?”
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25 Looking around the area.
When the creature appears, Alvoise steps back. Will save: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (8) + 0 = 8 Three assassins appear out of the darkness near the creature. One of them hisses, ”We killed your undead father. Now we’ll kill you.”
”No! Alvoise screams. Answering the call within his blood, his rage is released. A faint halo of light radiates outward from his heart as his body trembles. ”NO!" he shouts, his voice slightly deeper and more musical.
