HP rolls fingers crossed

1d8 ⇒ 3
1d8 ⇒ 3
1d8 ⇒ 6
1d8 ⇒ 5
1d8 ⇒ 4
1d8 ⇒ 4

Edit: Very standard I suppose

Lantern Lodge

GM Rolls
6d8 ⇒ (1, 8, 5, 1, 8, 7) = 30
Reroll 1's 2d8 ⇒ (8, 1) = 9
Reroll 1 1d8 ⇒ 5
28 + 8 + 5 = 41

How does that look for you instead, Deiros?

Dark Archive

Way better than what I got, just need to do Eidolon HP as well it's 5d10

I'll be updating sometime today, guys and gals, as I've recently gone back to work after having two weeks of leave. Anyways, I'll try to update as soon as body stops aching from last night's workout smoke session our Flight Chief gave us.

Heh. Word up. Hope your leave was fun. What's a Smoke Session?

Lantern Lodge

Sprints followed by Bunny Hops, followed by Toe Taps, followed by Bunny Hop Pushups, followed by Medicine Ball Lunges, followed by Medicine Ball Squats, followed by Zig-Zag Sprints (or Jukes or Cross Sprints or whatever you call them. I call them Jukes.) followed by more Sprints. Then you lather, rinse, repeat 3 times, and finish it all up with a 2-Mile Run.

Do you roll for Fort to resist passing out, or do you roll Will to resist "oh f#@@ it"?

Dayumn. Aptly named for a number of reasons, I reckon.

Sounds a lot like the soccer conditioning we had to do a few years ago, only no medicine ball stuff drop the 2 mile run to 1 and then a mile long obstacle course that you had to bring the soccer ball through and if you lost control of it back to the start.

Lantern Lodge

Yeah it sucked.

Posting here in addition to the OOC Threads since everyone is near Lake Meronia now.

Copy/Pasted
Seeing as how I didn't supply a decent gathering of information for you, here's a brief background of the lake so you know what you're up against. Its based off of various real world lakes - the Caspian Sea and Lake Baikal being two of the most prominent sources. Anyways, this being a fantasy setting I increased its measurements to almost double that of the Caspian Sea. That should give you some idea of its size.

Its max length is 820 miles with a max width of 410 miles. It has a surface area of 219,100 square miles and an average depth of 2487 feet. Its deepest point is at 5492 feet and has a water volume of 6,200 cubic miles. Its residence time is around 390 years and its shore length is 4,400 mile. Make note for your character to know the actual numbers will take a Knowledge Check.

If anyone wants statistics for other areas, let me know and give me time to track the stats down. Thanks.

To all my players, sorry for the lack of presence I've exhibited. I've been completing my pre-deployment training (just got back from heavy weapons firing last week and, before that, was some training I'm not allowed to talk about. As much as I wish I can continue on with this adventure I don't expect I'll be able to continue. I'm working on Medical Out-processing now and soon after that I'll be heading out.

Sorry for all my absence and I hope we can continue to keep in contact. My facebook page is here if anyone would like to add me and keep in contact. I hear there's a possibility of doing so where I'm headed, so rock on for that.

I don't expect my world will ever see as much air time as Golarion or The Realms, but I'm also not going to lie and say I'll make something of it and the like. I'll continue to build it piece-by-piece and you all have already helped me substantially believe it or not when it comes to the evolution of Aris.

Aris is an ever-growing, ever-expanding world, much like Golarion, The Realms, Greyhawk, or even our own planet, Earth. I expect it will continue to grow even in my absence and I have no doubt that when I get back, I'll be able to pick up the pieces of what I've already established and fit them together into a semi-complete puzzle of a world.

To all those that have shown support for the lands of Aris, I thank you. More than anything, I thank my players for playing with me (however, briefly) in this realm of high fantasy. I look forward to still playing with you in the future when that chance comes and cannot wait until the day I see my world born into its own.

Thank you.

IRL-wise, Good on ya, man; keep the world safe and thanks for everything you do. :-)

Game wise, I enjoyed playing in Aris, and playing this character, so I'll certainly be hoping for another crack at things, but am glad just to have had a chance to work with so many fun players and great GM in a rad world like Aris. Stay safe, sir, and stay in touch!

Same here stay safe and it has also been a blast to play this character hope to have another go someday.

Well that sucks but cant say I didn't have fun while it lasted, good luck to you and if you ever do another game shoot me a message, I will be sure to be on the lookout.

The rebels are at it again!

The name of the game is the same.

Spots are going to be reserved for my original two crews. Maps will try to be crafted to the best of my ability as before, but my workload is twice as existent as it was before. I'm going to ask that everyone try to post at least once a day.

I'm also considering revising the mechanics to where you'll have group initiative. In my opinion, this will streamline the process and make it run a little quicker when it comes to combat. Let me know your ideas on that and give me a 'Yea' or 'Nay'.

Email address is the same:

spoiler:

xanatos_grey@yahoo.com

I'm going to give a three day wait period for my old crew to try and get them together again. Those of you who are new to the crew, check out all the backlogs as best you can and catch up. If you feel yourself wanting to hop onto a waiting list, let me know.

I don't suspect I'll be able to get both groups back together, so we'll merely mix and match where necessary. I'd feel more comfortable with only one game under my belt anyways. So, yes, I do apologize in advance if not everyone makes it back. I will simply have to run one later down the line. Like I said, my workload is twice as intense as it was before now that I'm deployed.

If none of that makes sense, let me know. Also, there WILL be a new thread created for this. For continuity's sake, we'll say that the rebels trail went cold and its been a year since the last 'campaign'. I will try everything in my power to keep this one alive, but as before, offline comes first.

As for now, ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to the Shadows of Aris!

You know you can count me in!

I'll give it another shot.

The rough and tough tiny terror Stump is always ready for action.

Welcome back btw.

On a side note I figure I should ask this now before we get started, since they have added quite a bit of new material to the SRD, do you have fair game list? I just want to know what content is allowed, I figure to keep things simple we should stay strictly with Paizo published content.

Yea or nay?

Lantern Lodge

We'll stick with the straight Paizo crowd if you lot don't mind. If you guys want to update your characters for any of the new material that came out, do it now and let me know.

That's three up. Can take three more. Two more days and counting for my original crew.

- Marcy, Tristan, Stump

Good to see you lot again, by the way. And I'm not welcomed back home yet, moreso as I'm trying to stay as dedicated as I can from a hellhole. Lol.

Here

One nice thing is, since it's been a year, I presume that Marcy has gotten to know (and possibly trust) Xandar a bit better.

True

Sounds good, I just wanted to replace my traits since when I first made my character most of them were very general or didn't fit my character.

They added some new ones that work very well with what I am trying to do. Here is a list of what I am changing:

  • Replaced "greed" racial trait with "craftsman"
  • Replaced "reactionary" trait with "warsmith"
  • Replaced "tunnel fighter" trait with "armor expert"

No terribly drastic changes but these certainly fit my characters flavor much more.

Lantern Lodge

Xandar, Stump, and Marcy so far it is.

A few months later and I'm still getting Xandar and Tristan confused because of Xandar's last name. Blah. One of these days I'll get it.

Also, for anyone with firearms (I know this includes you, Xandar), go ahead and update it all to Paizo's firearms rules and style. Once Ultimate Combat comes out, we'll press further over that bridge. Any questions so far?

Just one..... When do we start? XD

Hey there. I couldn't tell if there are spots open still, or if recruitment has opened up, but I'm interested. I took a look at the setting information on the first page and it looks very cool. If there is an oppotunity, I was thinkning of playing a Time Oracle. I would just need to level him up a bit (if the character creation guidelines on the first page are still relevant) and rewrite his backstory for the setting.

I believe the original players have one more day to sign back up as it were. After that open recruiting will start and you're the first to show interest so I think that puts you pretty high on the list.

Without rereading the char-gen entry I can tell you that most of it is accurate. The only thing that may be different now is that we're sticking to Paizo only source books (CRB, APG, UM I believe). Basically, anything that Ronin can build in Hero Lab is good to go.

Good luck. Our first short run through in the setting was great. I think you'll enjoy it.

A Time Oracle sounds like it'd be a fun little addition to the party, so if you want to go ahead and start leveling him up a few, that'll be alright.

Open slots are officially open, so go ahead and get that character up and running for me. To Marcy, Tristan, and Stump, welcome yourselves a Time Oracle [or whatever, barring any changes Caleth may come up with].

DING! Marcy hit it right on the head again with that one. Now, I am already very well aware that HeroLab is not foolproof. However, it is considered to be the official Pathfinder Character Generation software, so that's the reason I use it. Besides, I've gotten much better with the editor than I was last time, so if need be, I may be able to build something from the ground up if I absolutely have to. Try to steer clear of that, though.

And, no, you don't have to have Hero Lab in order to play. It just happens to be what I use. As long as you're building from source, I should be able to.

Marcy "Lucky" Lull wrote:

Aww, you guys are sweet. I love it when you talk about my setting that way. I promise I'll try to make it longer this time. Even if it is just a one-shot. As we all know PBP-wise, even one-shots take a good while.

Last but certainly not least, let's have some fun.

Thanks for the opportunity Ronin.

I am making a Cleric 1/Time Oracle, who was an itinerant priest of the god of travel untill he began manifesting strange time-related powers. This marked him as blessed by his deity, since he was gaining the ability to wander both in space and time. However, the Imperium fears these sorts of powers since they are not understood and for the most part entirely beyond mainstream magic, so when the Imperium began seeking him, he kept traveling, always somehow coincidentally managing to stay one step ahead of their mage-hunters.

My build is kind of scattershot since the Time Mystery is kind of strange, but I think that it will be effective. I am focusing on mobility in my ability and item choice.

What is the party so far?

Since people seem to be rolling HP:
1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 51d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 101d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 61d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 41d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 111d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 55 + 10 + 6 + 4 + 11 + 5 = 41

Welcome aboard, Stump is a Dwarf fighter who focuses on two handed weapons. He differs from typical Dwarfs that follow the battle philosophy of the immovable/unbreakable object and prefers to take said object and bludgeon his enemies to death with it, namely himself or his greatsword. He is also a smith so if you ever need crafting done he should be able to handle it. And drinking, sooooo much drinking.

Marcy is a human fighter (we have the "hitting enemies with a stick" part covered really well). He's an ex-Tier Ward (something akin to a sergeant) who used to hunt down people like you. ;) He's mostly just interested in being a general ass these days. That, and drinking with Short-stuff there.

Also, the dice roller on here seems to hate him pretty blatantly, so you'll need to watch your own back...

Welcome aboard!

Lantern Lodge

Everything's looking good so far.

Also, any more takers on the campaign. If not, I'm running with four. Would feel nice and simple with four too in my opinion.

Four sounds fine to me. Smaller groups are probably easier on a pbp anyway. Plus I'm anxious to get going again.

Sorry that I haven't gotten my character up yet, but the internet was out all around me for a day because someone cut a fiber optic cable. Helthos the Time oracle will be posted some time this afternoon though.

Who is the fourth if we run with four. Hopefully a magic user of some sort.

PS: I can't seem to find the OOC thread, do you guys have one?

Xander would be our fourth member, I think he is an Inquisitor? I don't know anything about the class so I cant tell you if they are casters or not.

Saint Caleth wrote:

I think Ronin intends to create new IC and OOC threads for this go-around. To my knowledge it hasn't happened yet.

Xandar is an Inquisitor of Darkness, devoted heart and soul to Cerelia. (Took a little inspiration from the line of poetry with her picture.)

A man of few words who lets his actions speak for him, he can be a bit creepy, being so quiet, and younger than one would expect. He speaks with a gravelly half whisper, often making very little sound.

Think a gross between a Musketeer and a Ninja.

Lantern Lodge

Yeah, sorry about the wait, guys. I'll post up the OOC and IC threads and get things underway on my next day off. Two days from now, but since I am almost twelve hours ahead of you guys you won't have to worry about being late to the party.

Will try to hurry this as best I can. Work's tight. Lots of political BS recently that I won't delve into.

Sounds good.

Here is the crunch on Helthos. Description and Backstory coming soon...

Also, Ronin, are there rules in Pathfinder for having a bayonet on my crossbow? I think that would be pretty cool.

Helthos wrote:

That there is, here is the link to the description. It counts as a two handed weapon (since it attaches to a crossbow or firearm), nothing great (1d6 as medium) but certainly gives you options in close quarters.

I just received a message on Facebook from Severed. Apparently the military has decided to block Paizo on it's servers so he's unable to connect. I've asked if he's interested in moving the game somewhere else, but I'm still awaiting a reply.

I'm severely disappointed you try to bring this game back during our hiatus?! Well if Ronin decides to move the game to a different server me and Cyra could possibly be convinced to rejoin :p

Interesting... they block paizo but not facebook XD

Oh well let me know where he wants to move it.

So were we moving this somewhere or have we lost contact with Ronin again?

The last I heard he was busy with some other things. I assume he still wants to pick it up again, but I haven't heard anything else. I'll keep you posted if I hear anything.
