Male Half-elf Paladin 4/Champion Tier 1

Sorry for the hold up everyone, I must have overlooked this game when I was telling everyone that I would be extra busy this month and posting would be low to nonexistent. Feel free to roll for and move Auric as needed, especially while you're rolling crits.

I'm going to be away from home in a cabin all weekend, so wifi access will be spotty to nonexistent. Feel free to have Auric do a lot of heavy lifting in my absence.

I shall not steer you wrong. Well, no more wrong than the rest of the party is about to go, but you know what I mean.

Hey folks,

I'm going on staycation on Wednesday, which means I'm spending the early part of the week trying to get writing projects finished so I don't have to worry about them. Will get posts up late tonight or early tomorrow. I'll try to post on Wednesday, but since I'm starting Fallout 4 on my new computer, I might forget to post...and possibly eat.

Lol, have fun.

I just picked that game up again over the weekend. I keep wandering into other peoples' standoffs just walking around, so I named my rifle "mediator" as it's how I end up solving other peoples' problems.

And similar to a lot of Bethesda games, there's a point early on where you are asked if you're sure about your character specs/face/etc. If you save before you leave the first area on your own after the intro, you can save a good hour or so whenever you start a new game by just starting there and remaking your character then.

I've only named one gun in F4 thus far. Picked up this little pipe pistol that shoots .308 rounds and has its AP cost in VATs reduced by 25%. Which means I can aim and fire up to 10 shots at a time with decent damage. I decided it needed a less clunky name, so I just went with Lulu Belle.

In other news, I'm back on again after a rough week dealing with a partner recovering from oral surgery. She is not a happy camper. I was going to post yesterday when I had a quiet moment, but the page was apparently down. On with the game.

Well that was weird. I previewed the post and couldn't get Jon's spoiler to open when I clicked on it. Had to place it in its own post.

So I had the same thing happen to Auric's spoiler in this last post. Adding an extra couple of returns between that one and the one above solved the problem.

I'd just like to observe that this group has an amazing facility for avoiding trouble. That could come in handy in a place like Fardusk.

Male Half-elf Paladin 4/Champion Tier 1

Hey everybody, I've been running a Trail of Cthulhu (similar to Call but with a rules system built for mystery games) campaign on the boards but we've had a high player turnover rate- completely unrelated to madness, in fact- and I would really like to get a couple more participants to jump in if possible or else I might just have to end the game right when it's starting to heat up.

So if you're interested in tracking down the remnants of a Mythos sex cult in Los Angeles, 1937, the recruitment thread is here.

Male Dwarf Cleric of Baal 4

I have always been interested in the Cthulhu games, so I am definitely intrigued. I just have absolutely no experience with the system whatsoever. :P

Fortunately, there are free condensed rules on the Pelgrane website if you're curious- located here.

The rules are pretty straightforward- you never roll to find clues, but you can spend points for bonus info that makes your character look cool and give you extra hints about the investigation. Everything else is just a d6 roll versus a threshold (usually 4) and you spend points to add bonuses to the roll.

Male Dwarf Cleric of Baal 4

I've been meaning to ask about this for a while now, so I'll just throw it out there.

This has always been a pretty slow game, which I've been mostly fine with, since it is has been running for years now. Every now and then it has its spurts of speed that can last anywhere from days to weeks. I've had very little reason to just up and quit, particularly because I'm still invested in the the story so far, and in the lore of Wounded Earth in general.

So just to sum it up as a question, is everyone still on board with this game? How about you, Shadowborn? I'm honestly fine with continuing on as is, but I just want to clear the air and see if everyone is alive. We're hardly the liveliest group, but I have enjoyed our time together, for what it's worth.

Male Half-elf Paladin 4/Champion Tier 1

I am still here, though the stop and start nature of the game has meant that I've been forgetting about it more and more. And maybe I need to be more active in pushing things forward as a player if we're going to keep it going.

I would prefer to either agree to post more often- at least once a week, maybe- or call it off. If Shadowborn doesn't have the time to run it anymore, that's completely understandable but I would prefer a little more movement or to call it done.

Apologies to you all. Life has dealt me a really crappy hand of late, though that's no excuse for keeping you all up to date on what's going on.

Long story short, my partner and I have had ongoing financial difficulties, and this has resulted in losing the house we've called home for the last 20 years. We're scrambling to pack and secure a place to rent at the moment. I don't have the time or presence of mind to keep the campaign going right now. Perhaps a few months down the line, if people are still interested, but right now I've needed to shut down a lot of things in order to focus on the matter at hand.

If folks are willing to take a break and come back to our virtual table later, please let me know. I'll pm you when things are back on an even keel and I can put effort into this again.

Dude, that sucks. Of course you need to deal with life before you worry about a game. We understand. Just PM us when you feel on a better footing and we'll get the game going again.

Male Dwarf Cleric of Baal 4

I'm sorry to hear that, Shadowborn. I can't even begin to imagine what that must feel like. I hope that you and your partner find some stability very soon. Once things settle down, I would definitely be up for gaming with you again.

Female Human Witch (Stars)/ 1st Tier Archmage

I somehow never saw this. I'm so sorry. I definitely understand as I was up until a couple weeks ago facing the same thing and if not for the generosity and fortune circumstances of a family member would be looking at the same outcome.

I'm really sorry and wish you the best in finding a better situation. When you're able t find the time and frame of mind to game again, I'll be here.

Female Gnome Ranger/3

Hey folks > I was searching through some old games I was in and came across this one. Seeing Shadowborn's message, I wanted to pipe in and say I hope things work out for the best for you and your partner. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

I also want to say that of all the games I've been in on these forums, this one was my favorite. The originality of the world and richness of gameplay made it truly enjoyable. And for the life of me, I can't recall why I dropped out. Must have been going through a s!*&ty time in my personal life and was cutting back on games or something like that.

Edit: Looking back through the posts, it was about five years ago to the day that I left. Seems I had become disenchanted with Pathfinder and sold all my books. I remember that...vaguely...but still don't understand why I did that at the time. Too much bourbon over the years has dulled my memory, I guess. :)

Anyway, even though the game is currently on hiatus, I'm glad to see it has lasted this long. And that Stilgar is still alive and going strong!
