Braddon wants a fight, so he'll go with Gristav.
Braddon wants to sleep in, so he won't go with Gristav.Does that help?
:-)
Gristav will awaken Braddon. Shortly after seeing Sam at breakfast.
How's that?
Joana |
If you have not already, please update your character profile with 2nd level stats when you get the chance. I believe everyone should be at full hit points as of the morning, and Gristav's stray point of Constitution has come home.
(Gris, I don't believe you've presented Larur with the bill for your restoration yet; you'll probably want to do that at some point today.)
I would prefer, if Gristav is going into Rotgut, that you go as a group. I don't guarantee that mayhem will ensue, but should it, it will be more fun if everyone gets in on it. I'll be happy to have the NPCs suggest safety in numbers, if plans are broached at the breakfast meeting.

Any of you folks have a suggestion on what 1st level spell I should choose? I've taken Cause fear but I'm at a loss on what else to roll with.
Here's a link: Witch spells
These are the ones I have(pre-updated of course): Cure light wounds, Mage Armor, Obscuring Mist, Ray of Enfeeblement, Remove Sickness, Sleep
I welcome any and all suggestions. :)
Gristav |
Braddon: If Gris says he's about to get the seat next to Sam...? :)
Joanna: I thought I had updated already, sorry. I notice I have Frostbite twice...
Snake: I'll advise you, you advise me. :) How about Whispering Lore, Restore Corpse, Mount, or Sow Thought?
I got some List Envy here. :)
Braddon Hurst |
Braddon updated.
Snake- where do you want to go?
Offence- Burning Hands, Command, Sleep
Defence- Mage Armor, Peacebond
Face- Charm Person, Hypnotism, Interrogation
Support- Enlarge Person, Bungle
Versatile- Unseen Servant
Gristav- can sit wherever. Braddon is... versatile. :-)
Javell DeLeon |
Snake is updated. Decided on Enlarge Person.
Gristav: Are you really looking for suggestions? Or is Color Spray and Frostbite the two you've chosen? Because a Magus has waaaay better options than a witch, let me tell you. Far more handier spells for sure.

Last I can find, Braddon actually gave it to Saul during his update. We've assumed we have it still but never actually shown it I think.
Joana |
Thanks for looking that up for me, Dave; looks like it was left in Saul's possession so I'll let you guys decide if you're going to ask for it back to help Mescher try to take her into custody.
And Mark's just turned up on the boards in other threads, so we'll hope to see Phil sometime soon. Welcome back, Mark! Hope you enjoyed your holiday.
Joana |
Well, you shouldn't be so popular. ;P
Phillip Hargreaves |
Ok, rough level up:
HP as rolled before = 3+1 +9 = 13 HP
Skills: increment the following: Appraise, Bluff, Diplomacy, Know (Local), Perception, Profession (Gambler), Sense Motive, Sleight of Hand
Spells: gain Brand and Forced Quiet
Abilities: Cunning Initiative, Detect Alignment, Track
Braddon Hurst |
No, no. Totally RP issue. Braddon's world totally revolves around Braddon. The pay raise Braddon is thinking of is a few gold. I'm totally aware that there are very few salaries in the game that affect WBL. Saul would have to pay an exorbitant amount to affect WBL. So much it would probably make Braddon suspicious.
OOC, it's more an opportunity to recap the previous years we've been playing. Braddon bignotes himself, I get to review currents events across months of play, and others have a chance to tell me what's been happening behind all those spoilers I don't read. :-)
IC, Braddon keeps making the "we should get paid more" joke every time something gets dangerous and I realised Braddon is actually the sort of character who would follow through on that. He says something enough and it becomes more true.
I'm aware WBL is usually granted by looting the bodies :-)
And I'm aware that Braddon's gotten the best stuff so far too, so I'm certainly not angling for more for him.
TL:DR IC :-)
Phillip Hargreaves |
Joana - I don't think it's been specifically mentioned in thread yet... but is it safe to assume that the same games will be set up for Varisian Night as was for the first casino night?
Reviewing it was Golem, Bounder, and Skiffs? I'd assume no Ghoulette?
I've been mulling a proposition for Phillip to make to Saul ;)
Joana |
With all the focus on the entertainment, games have not been discussed. Phillip is certainly free to assume that the line-up will be the same as last week.
Treasure is surprisingly hard to place in an urban setting, but I hope to lead you guys to a windfall soon. You also have a few hundred gold in undistributed loot from your previous escapades that's presumably lying around somewhere at the Goblin.
Braddon Hurst |
Thanks Joana, but you don't need to windfall us :-)
I'm not fussed on how much treasure we have. Braddon may be a bit greedy but I couldn't care less and am more worried about the record keeping.
I've always found WBL is self balancing. If the bad guys don't have treasure, we get easier opponents. If they have magic arms and armour then we get tougher opponents and... more treasure. If anything, I'd say an urban setting is easier to maintain WBL since people accumulate stuff, as opposed to a wilderness where Dire Wolves and Owlbears aren't exactly known for their stash of ready moneys.
With Weatherby's 200 gold, I was going to split it 70, 70, 60 to Malkith, Dayn and Braddon respectively. Braddon thinks that's 'fair' because he wants it split 'evenly' three ways but still realises that he got all the expensive equipment.
I am aware how much masterwork stuff is worth and am happy for Braddon to have nothing or even pay out other characters if players desire. Braddon may pout or whine, but he's still my character and he'll do what I tell him to. :-D

Checking over your stats on level-up ... for no reason. ;)
2 Skill Points, +2 from INT: Diplomacy, Sense Motive, Intimidate, Perform:Dance
Gris, you have a +3 Int mod, so you get 1 more skill rank to spend. Also, you get a favored class bonus for taking another level of magus that you can use for an extra hit point or skill point (or a fraction of magus arcana or arcane pool).

Finding erros is a good reason. :)

Whoa... The elf pick is open? Might I shuffle that skill point and the current FVC to catch up with that?
Joana |
Hm. According to HeroLab, it is, although they seem to take a latitudinarian view of "effects related to race." If you really want an extra magus arcana at level 6 as opposed to 6 hp or 6 skill points to use along the way, I don't suppose I have any objections. Keeping in mind that this game isn't guaranteed to take you all the way to 6th level.
Braddon Hurst |
No problem at all. Braddon is just catching up with Phil thinking they're work buddies. Braddon is easily diverted and takes instruction well- about the only time Braddon wasn't easily distracted was when Malkith and Sam tried to exclude him from investigating with them.
And even then, he quickly took off elsewhere once an alternative arrived.
Braddon will usually follow in character cues. It makes it more fun for everyone. :-)
Joana |
This is too, too funny! :D
This golden droid has been a friend, 'tis true,
And yet I wish to still his prating tongue!
An imp, he calleth me? I'll be reveng'd,
And merry pranks aplenty I shall play
Upon this pompous droid C-3PO!
Yet not in language shall these pranks be done:
Around both humans and the droids I must
Be seen to make such errant beeps and squeaks
That they shall think me simple. Truly, though,
Although with sounds oblique I speak to them,
I clearly see how I shall play my part,
And how a vast rebellion shall succeed
By wit and wisdom of a simple droid.
[Exit R2-D2 into escape pod.

According to the Acrobatics rules, it appears Paizo thinks a check is not needed to navigate a slanty roof. And yet people die every year putting up Christmas lights.
I'm ruling that it's a DC 10 to avoid falling while moving on the roof. That allows NPCs without a negative Dex modifier to take 10 so people don't have to hire adventurers with class levels to clean their gutters without asserting that people can blithely let their children play tag on their roofs.
Gristav |
Not trying to free the world, only help where I can. Gristav expects the ruckus to raise some response, and help teach the sailor, who hopefully can teach others, that rotgut is bad hunting.
If Gristav needs must be less involvable... well, I'll do my best.
