Shackled City (Pathfinder) - GM_Chris

Game Master Chris Shannon 719

This will be the Shackled City adventure path using the Pathfinder rule set. However, the existing deities (i.e. St. Cuthbert, Pelor, Wee Jas) will not be converted to similar Golarion gods.

Awww, Glimmil and I both <3 Dyrant.

And, did Glimmil just find his mount? I was contemplating a riding dog, but now...

Can he turn it into a four-legged version of one of these???

That would be quite cool.

Btw, looking again at the picture of the construct...it again reminds me of BioShock.

If we had seen a Little Sister near it, I'm sure I would run immediately.

After seeing his attack roles I think Glimmil will make a perfectly good Little Sister for it.

Oh wait, I sucked too. Damn.

M Steinneblin (Rock Gnome) Paladin 16/Cavalier 1

Don't hate on my +1 BAB!

You'd think the +1 for small size would help too, but the low Strength is a killer.

That and in 15 attempts, I think there was only one roll above a ten.

LOL.

Hey can someone provide long-term care?

PFSRD wrote:

Providing long-term care means treating a wounded person for a day or more. If your Heal check is successful, the patient recovers hit points or ability score points (lost to ability damage) at twice the normal rate: 2 hit points per level for a full 8 hours of rest in a day,

If we're resting 8 hours, it'd be good to get 2 ability points back from the poison instead of 1.

|| Per +19 | Fort +13 Ref +8 Will +13 | BAB +13 | CMB +20 | CMD 31 || Init +7 Half-Orc (Smoking Eye) Oracle of Battle/Barbarian (Armored Hulk)/Rage Prophet/Chevalier 4/3/6/3

Remember in Pathfinder you are at -1 for every 2 points lost, so if you only lost 2 STR then gaining 1 back will still regain your bonus. Of course it'd be good to have both points back for when you get poisoned again.

M Steinneblin (Rock Gnome) Paladin 16/Cavalier 1

Oh? I'm totally not used to the PFRPG way of handling ability score damage.

Are you saying if you have a 14 Str and you are poisoned to 13 Str, you don't actually have any penalties yet?

|| Per +19 | Fort +13 Ref +8 Will +13 | BAB +13 | CMB +20 | CMD 31 || Init +7 Half-Orc (Smoking Eye) Oracle of Battle/Barbarian (Armored Hulk)/Rage Prophet/Chevalier 4/3/6/3

Yes. I always did it the 3.5 way but I guess it's actually different.

With a full rest I could get back my synth armor, without I can run with summons. Sadly the difference between the two options is low presently.

|| Per +19 | Fort +13 Ref +8 Will +13 | BAB +13 | CMB +20 | CMD 31 || Init +7 Half-Orc (Smoking Eye) Oracle of Battle/Barbarian (Armored Hulk)/Rage Prophet/Chevalier 4/3/6/3

I have one healing spell, Atol has some healing and channeling. Dyrant has already used his green flag touch on us today, so we'll have to count him out. With the poison on Glimmil and Silfr we're down a little, and Dyrant has used his enlarge for the construct fight.

On the up side we have doubled the number of gnomish trap detectors in the party. We seem to get our butts kicked every time we go North, maybe exploring some of the open spaces to the South that don't require a key and the A and Z doors?

M Steinneblin (Rock Gnome) Paladin 16/Cavalier 1

With out luck we'd stumble into an even harder fight (a BBEG?) and disaster would follow.

While I'm not typically an advocate of 2-fights-a-day, resting is prudent given the whupping we just had...

Hopefully that last fight with your new pet the SlaughterTron2000 will get us to 2, or close.

I do like being cautious, but I don't want us to go the lame route either. I think we can manage one more fight, even a tough one, with a little care. Maybe two smaller ones- if we knew in advance! :D

Happy Birthday. I'd like to say it's a ND tradition to take someone out drinking, but honestly that's just one of the only two things we have to do for fun around here.

Damn gnomes and their confetti traps.

Ok, no half-orc sized full plate, but if we hire 10 gnomes to wear the chain shirts and bucklers, then strap them to me with rope, what would my AC be?

Can we see the portion of the map where the tunnel connects with the gnomish totem poll room?

M Steinneblin (Rock Gnome) Paladin 16/Cavalier 1

Heads up.

I mentioned this to Pain, but the PbP I DM seems to be running on fumes, so I'm likely winding it down and planning to start a new one on Paizo.com

You guys are all welcome to reserved spots.

Pathfinder rules, set in Greyhawk. A couple adventures are mashed up for the intro, but it will evolve into the Scourge of the Slavelords adventure path. The campaign should go from 1-10.

Not sure when I'm opening recruitment, maybe a few days, maybe a week or more. It depends when I finish work on the bonus campaign traits/feats.

I'd hope for a pace similar to Chris's game (i.e. ~3+ posts a day from participants).

Shadow Lodge

I could see playing a skill monkey or arcane caster type, some of the other games I've joined have died or are dying so I have plenty of energy for another.

Male Human (Per +7 | Fort +17 Ref +13 Will +22 | AC 29 (f28/t15) | CMD 22)

I wouldn't mind playing a front line thug with you lot.

'course I'll be happier playing a more intelligent character so we'll see. :D

Count me as interested. I don't have enough crack yet and expect you're a great GM based on your play of Glim.

M Steinneblin (Rock Gnome) Paladin 16/Cavalier 1

Aw, thanks for the compliment.

I'll need to learn some of your mapping kung-fu. I'm not sure my print-screen/Photoshop system can compete!

I'd like a second play by post game, and have enjoyed how you've run Glim as well.

I would want someone different than Silfr, maybe a brutish burglar?

Our go-to strategy is decided.

Glim runs in first to aggro things while Finneas follows and kills them all!

M Steinneblin (Rock Gnome) Paladin 16/Cavalier 1

Wow, I feel honored you guys all expressed interest.

With this many of you from here, I'll just set up a preliminary OOC thread you can talk openly in, and I can at least answer questions while I get my side organized.

I've actually DM'd most of what I plan to run already from a story perspective, it's just new crunch I'm using.

The Thread if you want to pop over and discuss over the next week. Real gaming won't start until I'm back from vacation in August.

Shadow Lodge

Ok, I'll make a healer or buffer, depending on which we'll need.

M Steinneblin (Rock Gnome) Paladin 16/Cavalier 1

Thread is linked here so we can spare derailing the SCAP thread.

The first post there has the details. My DM profile also has my "house rules" on various races, as well as at least some of bonus feats I use.

Feel free to check in there. I'd like to get a least one new person for fresh blood, so will run up to 6 PCs. Depending on how many of you step up, I'd toss up a recruitment thread possibly this weekend, and you can all weigh in on the submissions.

I like beauty contests :)
