The under-halfling kept his attention on the door trough his conversation, peering through gaps and checking for strings or any other various instruments of doom.

"I think this door might lead us back outside... Well to the broken wall anyway. May get us a good vantage point to check through the rubble."

Taking his time to search the flooded room, Lumpii is sure the place is empty, apart from a few bits of discarded food that must have been the Lizard's dinner. With the death of the lizard, the Pathfinders are sure they have cleared this floor and there is no sign of their Pathfinder companion. The stairs in the centre continue upwards.

Making their way up the stairs, the group finds the door into the next chamber is locked solidly.

For anyone that wanted to look around the floor, Liam said there was nothing of note and it's just how it is on the map.
A quick peer out of the door in the flooded room let's in a draft of cold air as the outside of the building is revealed once more. Congratulations, you made you way to a collapsed wall and not much else, large amounts of stone, shattered wood and rain water pummeling in through the makeshift window cover the ground.

As Lumpii and Manly stand atop this flight of stairs and stare down a locked door a metaphorical lightbulb appeared above the gunslingers head. Keeping a hold of his pistol and sheathing his 'longsword' he raised his index finder like he had a point to make.

"Now... Unfortunately we're locked out. However it may be possible to scale the side of the tower that has crumbled. A couple of us that are agile and light enough to scale up without causing any further damage, then we could attach some ropes on the next floor and aid the rest up?

Plus, if there is someone that left his pet here to attack us and they were the one that locked this door, would it not be better to come from the least expected option? Most people would pick it or break it down, so their attention might be on this spot."

Lumpii raises his pistol and carefully lowered the handle before throwing the door open and scanning his gun around the room for any potential threats.

There is a soft click as Lad fiddles with the door lock and suddenly the portal doesn't seem to be the obstacle it once was. Stepping forwards and throwing caution to the wind, Lumpii storms into the room and sweeps the next room, and is awash with heat and the smell of burnt flesh.

Two stone altars, one black and one white, sit at either end of this large chamber, which takes up two wings of the tower on this level. The crumbling remains of wooden benches sag in front of each altar beneath rotting ceiling tapestries. Carved symbols and writings snake along the walls. The burnt corpses of two troglodytes lie on the floor in the center of the room.

That is not what captures the halfling's attention however, standing before each Altar is a humanoid skeleton, wreathed in flames.

The Skeleton by the black Altar moves forwards at the intrusion, raising it's cracked scimitar wreathed in flame, it swings out at the daring gunslinger, who manages to nimbly avoid the rusted blade.

The skeleton lashes out with it's scimitar at the nimble self-possessed man, who narrowly manages to avoid the broken flame-wreathed blade. Gilbert's return strike is a solid blow to the ribcage but it doesn't seem to quite destroy the creature, as the jagged blade bounces off hardened bone.

Chunks of masonry start to shake themselves loose around him. You can see his eyes flash and strain as he tries to hold himself back, as the cobble takes to the air and flies toward the flaming skeleton

The scorching flames wreathing the skeleton sear the small halfling as he quickly back-peddles out of the room, fearing what such a concentrated flame may do to his blackpowder.

Dashing up the stairs, Nayan's fury manifests as rubble from the temple rips free and dashes the skeleton, crushing the creature. As it collapses into a pile of bones, the creature bursts into flames, which sear Gilbert.

Fire damage, dc 11 reflex for half: 1d6 ⇒ 1

With the death of its brethren, the second skeleton by the white altar seems to lock on to the room's intruder and darts forwards, swiping down with the cracked scimitar.

Hesitantly, Lad dashes forwards, nimbly avoiding being cut by the fearsome blazing skeleton. However, her precise cut merely scrapes of the rusted chainmail remaining on the skeletal warrior. Manly isn't as lucky however, mid way through her tumble she falters and the skeleton takes advantage.

The strange mystic Vol darts into the room behind his alloes, his eerie mind blade chipping bone but not as effective as he might like. This time, Gilbert's cold iron does the trick, thr the skeleton's spinal column is severed, causing it to collapse,

With the skeletons felled, their eerie heat shroud drops and the room temperature returns to normal, the Altars at either end lie undeaecrated and apart from two charred corpses, no signs of the Troglodyte's inteference can be seen.

As the sound of combat dies with the fallen foes Lumpii pushes himself off the wall and brings himself into the room only to lean against the wall next to the door.

"That was horrible. But I like what they did to their weapons. Any idea how they did that? I imagine they'd have to keep a hold of them for it to work, but a bullet like that would 'cause some mayhem.

I agree with Vol, that wand might be very useful right now."

Once healed up Lumpii's gonna look round the room, grab the trinkets. No sense leaving then here when they can go back to the venture captain (When he's sober) and he can return them wherever.

At the behest of Nayan, Lad checks the steps leading up to the next floor and declares them safe, although a little rain damaged and worn from time. Making your way up the tower, you are once more met by a solid door. This one is not locked, but through the cracks in the solid wood the terrible smell of rotten eggs permeates, which can only mean one thing... Troglodytes.

In the interest of pressing on

Everyone heals their burns and their scratches, the divine magic stored within Nayan and Manly's respective wands causing the wounds to vanish as if they never were. Except for the acid burn in Lumpii's crotch, that still really itches...

As you mill around, no-one brave (or foolish) enough to throw open the door and attack, the problem is solved for you, it appears that you weren't all quiet enough as the door suddenly throws open and a scaled snout of a lizard-man stares out, eyes widening in surprise.

Sword and bullets fly wide of their mark as the panicked Troglodyte lets out a startled gasp. Trying to hold in her lunch, Lad looks to be an easy pray for the Troglodyte, which strikes out with their club at the retching Halfling.

The swing goes wide and the Troglodyte takes a quick step backwards. The Troglodyte behind, wearing blue tattered robes steps forwards as his comrade back peddles and hurls a javelin at Lad.

With a mighty swing of his conjured blade, Vol carves into his opponent with almost contemptuous ease, causing it to collapse to the floor bleeding. Taking his chance, Nayan hurls more pebbles from the ruined fortress and hurls them with his mind. Due to the tangle of blade however, these go far from their mark.
