Well poking in the pool has no effect, I wonder if there is anything in it.' Ivar takes a quick look over the pools edge to see if he can see anything in it, he then returns to the party as the leave to go back to the surface. "We should rest before we head to the mountain, I'm pretty wore out."

I think there is an area we have not been yet. Let's check and move on.I thought we entered in V19 and the square was moved over it to make room for the rest of the map. V28 was the nest. Drbuzzard's quote was right after we went down the rope into the cave.
I guess you didn't check the map. There's a passage leading out of this area to the east.
drbuzzard, without swimming is there anyplace we didn't inspect?
Ivar "Goldilocks" Theodinson |
Heading back to the cave and the lowered rope, Ivar leads the team back to the lighthouse to finish resting for the day so he is fully recuperated for tomorrow. As dusk falls, he asks the team, 'shall we set up our normal watch for tonight and then head east to the mountain in the morning."
drbuzzard we came here from the mountain area how long was the trip?
Ivar "Goldilocks" Theodinson |
the following morning, after a quick breakfast, Ivar asks the castaways. "Are we ready to go to the mountain and find either the dragon the temple or both?"
Once the team is ready he leads them out, toward the mountain. Keeping a keen eye out for any problems.
headed to the mountain we just left, drbuzzard, do you want any skill rolls?
drbuzzard |
You are able to get over there without any issues primarily because your GM is tired on the random encounters here.
You get over to that mountain.
Four stone monoliths appearing as jagged stalagmites of rock protrude from the grass at the edge of this bluff . A weathered, snakelike rune is carved into the inner face of each of these stones, all facing a three-foot-high pyramid-shaped block of stone at the center of the four surrounding spires. The vegetation and soil surrounding this pyramid has been trimmed back and excavated to expose the strange block fully to view. The peak of the central pyramid has a cup-shaped indentation—channels run down the four sides into empty basins at the base of the pyramid.

"It's time, me hearties, time t'leave our mark on this world!" exclaims the halfling as he draws his rapier and approach the closest runed spire.
If nothing eldritch happens as he gets close, he proceeds to etch "Randy wuz here" in the rock using his rapier, and if nothing spooky happens he adds a fancy moustache to the snakelike figure.

Back in the underground area you had found instructions on how to open up this place.
To Command the Very Tides to Rise Up and Eschew What Lies Below: Empower the Four Sentinel Runes with the Blood of a Thinking
Creature Tempered by the Kiss of a Serpent’s Tongue.
Anoint the Tide Stone with Waters Brought from the Sea in a Vessel of
Purest Metal. Invoke the Lord’s Sacred Name to Wrap His Coils around the Sea Itself
that He Might Lay Bare What Lies Below and Cast Down Your Enemies on the Waves above.

Pure comedy gold! :D

This seems to be the alter stone where you can summon the wrath of the sea and Ydersius. Unfortunately we lack seawater in a metal flask for the ritual. We could try it though and see what happens. Someone would have to go and fetch the water, i can provide the snake poison, whose blood shall we use?
Her eyes flit over to the halfling.
Ah there´s a brave volunteer!
Ivar "Goldilocks" Theodinson |
'Perchance any metal will work, Ivar pulls his Spangenhelm turning it over like a large cup. "I shall go fill this with sea water and return."
Going to the nearest easy spot to gather sea water, Ivar fills his helmet with salt water and returns to Lalali.
obviously I'm assuming he can just 'hand wave' that, please feel free to interrupt with anything interesting :-)

Randy is too busy trying to dent the rocks using his different tools, weapons and toenails to object being the volunteer at first.
Then it dawns on him "Hey, wait a moment!" but the moment he moves his right feet to flee and bunker at the lighthouse he remembers paladins are supposed to be all self sacrifice and s!++ "Should have been a jester like Pa..."

He starts to head a across the rope bridge towards Y2, and spies a good sized nest, and what appears to be a winged beast sleeping on it.

Not able to move fast enough to avoid the beast, "Blast" Ivar bellows as it bites and holds fast to his leg. Hearing Janzadar praying and feeling the bones in his leg reknit, He bellows, "Thanks, lets see if I can get loose from this thing." Beginning to rage he attempts to jerk his leg loose and step back.
