He then accepts the leather piece and reads it out loud to the others. 'A shame, Kovack was a good captain.' Asking: "So we learned our captains fate. Does anyone remember this 'Ieana' or some other Varisian?"

'May as well keep moving.' Panting heavily while he recovers from the rage, Ivar finally nods toward the cave tunnel. "We may as well save the leather for latter and continue our search." He then rests his axe on his shoulder and continues going deep in the cave. Keeping a keen eye out as he calls back. "Randy are you coming?"

Ivar turns into the large cave and begins up the nearest tunnel. Smiling he looks down at the Halfling, "Unless you want to dive in Randy, I guess we would wait if you wanted to take a swim." He then continues into the new tunnel.

"We should find the captain and end whatever he has become. Let us take it slow though.."


This long chamber evokes the feel of an ancient, hideous cathedral. The walls are carved with images of serpents walking upright like humans, snakes coiling around and eating hapless women and children, and stranger scenes. Four stone pillars carved like coiling snakes support the vaulted ceiling 30 feet above. Four small cells blocked by rusted bars sit in the walls to the east and west. To the north, an immense carving of a snake’s head looms, an ash-caked door clenched in its jaws, while to the south rises a horrific mound of bones and partially decayed bodies in an eight-foot-tall heap arranged almost as if to evoke the imagery of a coiled snake made of corpses.

There are four clearly undead humanoids in the room, and they react as you enter.
