Here's the Way of the Wicked gameplay thread. I'm your gaymaster, a goat. Because I couldn't find an icon that looked like the little dwarf wizard from the old D&D cartoon.

In the kingdom of Talingarde, many crimes may send you to Branderscar Prison, but the sentence has but one meaning. You are wicked and irredeemable. Each of you received the same greeting when you arrived. You were held down by rough hands and branded upon the arm with a runic F. The mark signifies ‘forsaken’ and the painful scar is indelible proof that each of you has betrayed the great and eternal love of Mitra and his chosen
mortal vassals.

Condemned, you face at best a life of shackles and servitude in the nearby salt mines. Others might await the “gentle” ministrations of the inquisitors so that co-conspirators may be revealed and confessions extracted. Perhaps, some of you will be spared this ordeal. Perhaps instead you have come to Branderscar to face the final judgment. In three days, the executioner arrives and the axe falls or the pyre will be lit.
Through fire or steel, your crimes will be answered.

You have all been chained together in the same communal cell dressed in nothing but filthy, tattered rags. Manhandled and mistreated, any finery you once possessed is either ruined or long lost. No special treatment has been given any prisoner – male or female, commoner or noble – all of the forsaken are bound and imprisoned together. Your feet are secured by iron cuffs tethered by one long chain. Your arms are secured to the wall above by manacles. A guard is posted right outside the cell day and night. Little thought is given to long term accommodations. At Branderscar, justice comes swift and sure.

Escape seems hopeless. You have all been well searched and every attempt to conceal anything on your person has failed. And if you could somehow slip your bonds and fly out of this prison, where would you go? Who from your former life would want anything to do with the forsaken? Despised, alone and shackled – all that you can do now is await your doom.

For each of you, your old life is over. For each of you, hope is a fading memory. For each of you, justice will be fairly meted. And who can blame fair Talingarde after what each of you has done?

I'm Ash. The "F" seems appropriate, I'm here because I forged the order that sent the realms troops to a near disaster, heh. What are you all in for?

Ash has black hair, ruddy looking skin that seems just a little too red, and void speckled pupilless eyes. What some may call his obviously Tiefling trait, he seems to refer to as having a "wide forehead." He's also got a tail, which he occasionally attempts to bring up and pick the lock, in a hopeless gesture.

As far as orcs go. I am by far the ugliest orc you will ever see. half my face is scared from battle and fire. the rest of my hairless body matches the once beautiful face of gridlock. over sized and stupid as shit gridlock instinct has taken him this far life so far. which obviously is just as far as the rest of u brainiacs. my skin color is green but where their is burns the skin is bleached white. never listened well and always used his muscle to get him out of bad spots till now. right now feeling powerless is the biggest kick in the ass for a orc who has lived his whole life off his physical nature. desperation is kicking in and if anyone has a thought for the first time gridlock is open for suggestions. find a way to break my chains and i will return the same with the gaurds head snapped off his body.

Forsythe... My name is Forsythe. I'm in here because the puny church of Mitra apparently didn't "appreciate" the beautiful skeleton I made out of their former high priest. Or it could have been the "unholy" state I left their sacred crypt and altar in. Regardless, they will one day regret this -- Asmodeus as my Witness!

Coughing and glaring, you see before you a tall, gaunt, but strikingly beautiful woman. She has a number of macabre tattoos all over her taught pale skin.

Are there any corpses about?

Nothing else remains in the room save you all, chained at hand separately, and around feet together. I'll just wait a little bit longer so anyone else can introduce himself/herself.

I think we should all as a group try to swing our legs over our heads and plant our feet against the ceiling or wall whichever works best. With that leverage hopefully I can break myself free and then do the same for the rest of u guys. But this has to be corrdinated perfectly due to we are chained together and the fact that this will be noisey as all hell. That's my first draft of how to get out of this dungeon. Let me know what all you think.

I am Loran. My thirst for human blood and my commitment to Zura commanded me to slay the weak human who tainted my vampire lineage. My Spawn held her down in the temple to Mitra whilst I drained her. Sadly, the cleric came for a midnight prayer and prevented me from finishing! I will end the wickedness that is my mother and live forever as undead

Loran is average height, looks like my avatar, and when angry bares his prominent fangs.

Temperance is a frail, but vaguely sinister-looking woman when you meet her. She is making no attempt to hide her Kitsune features or her disgust at her current circumstances. She appears to have given up all hope.

"Are you kidding me? No way we'll be able to break of here. We're all just going to die in a few days. Accept it if you can, if you can't, well, it won't matter."

A group of six guards, heavily armed and ready for trouble, come into the cell led by a fat well-dressed sergeant of the watch. You all recognize Sergeant Tomas Blackerly. This was the man who held the brand that marked each of you. He laughed as your skin burned. Right now, though the sergeant seems a little dazed.

Sergeant Blackerly

sense motive DC 25:
the sergeant is under the effect of some enchantment.

He points to Forsythe, “You there! That’s the scum! Get ‘em unshackled. If any of you makes trouble, they’ll earn a thrash- ing! Today’s your lucky day, scum. You’ve got a visitor. How you ever warranted such a fine lady is beyond me. Seems she wants to say good-bye. Now step lively. We wouldn’t want to keep her waiting.”

Your shorter, temporary chains clatter heavily, as you drag them, escorted roughly, as you are led to a meeting room down the hall and shoved into a chair.

There waiting for you is a hauntingly beautiful woman in an elegant black dress and soft silken veil. She looks as if she is headed to a funeral. Her hair is so platinum as to almost be white and her eyes are a vibrant almost un- earthly green. She clearly has been weeping.

“Oh, dearest,” proclaims the unfamiliar woman. “I’m so relieved you’re alive!” She quickly turns to Tomas. “Could we please have a moment alone, good sir? For pity’s sake?”

Tomas goes blank for a bit and then quickly agrees. “Of course, my lady. For you,’ tis no problem.”

sense motive DC 15:
somehow this woman has power over the guard.

As soon as the guards leave, Tiadora’s demeanor immediately changes. She drops all pretense of grief or concern. She is immediately all business. “Have you forgotten me, dearest?” the unexpected visitor says with a smirk, dropping her pretense of grief.

Tiadora

“Call me Tiadora. We possess a mutual friend who would like to meet you and your fellow cell-mates. Unfortunately, our friend is unwilling to visit you in your present rather shabby accommodations so it seems you must escape. Don’t be so dour. Just because
it’s never been done before is no reason you can’t be the first.

“If you manage that, cross the moors on the outskirts of town. On the old Moor Road you’ll see a manor house with a single lantern burning in the second story. There our mutual friend waits. That is all I know. He did want me to give you this.”

She takes off her silken veil and wipes away a few fake tears with it.

“Something to remember me by, dearest.”

She palms the veil off to you, caressing you cooly, depositing it in your hand.
Her message delivered, she seems impatient to leave, her eyes darting to the door.

This appears to be a fine silk veil of gossamer cloth. Only as it is held and closely inspected can you see small cloth patches of various shapes.

One patch can be detached each round as a move action. Detaching a patch causes it to become an actual item. This veil contains:
• 2 daggers
• Bullseye lantern (full, lit and shuttered)
• Hempen rope (50-foot coil)
• Sack full of needed spell components (worth less than a 1 gp)
and common clothes in the PCs sizes
• Thieves Tools, Masterwork
• Window (2 ft. by 4 ft., up to 2 ft. deep)
• Potion of cure light wounds
• 100 gold pieces
• Unholy Symbol of Asmodeus (silver)
• dangerous chemicals

“Three days,” telepathically echoes in the PC’s mind. “Don’t disappoint me, dearest”.

The visitation concluded, you are taken back to your cell by a cadre of guards and shackled once more.

Once more you are secured in tightly locked bands around your ankles and your hands are shackled above your heads.

Lights are dimmed and the door to their block is locked once more. The guards leave though clearly two of them are stationed at the door.

You are now alone in your cell possessing only the veil and certainty that time is running out
