"I would have gone with Thoven as well. Maybe we can reuse some of the blood that went on Daurros?"

again... first posts on new sites...

(Female Shifter Rogue 9)

there is still half a helmet of blood there

(Male Half-elf Monk 4/Sorcerer 1)

Finn moves on to the messy task of smearing Father Thoven with the basilisk blood.

It takes near an hour to carefully drain the Basilisk and apply the sticky -life saving liquid to the rest of the group. First is Thoven, then Toxim and at last with little left in the helm and the Basilisk totally drained you spread the last of the fluid across you cover
Karkalla, She awakens a bit stiff and her legs seems a bit ashy but the last drops bring her life back to her, but sadly the blood is gone or to sticky and congealed to be helpful for poor Urol, who still stands frozen.

So there you stand all covered in sticky drying blood, close to the ruined temple, next to a fly blown Basilisk body amide a forest of statures.

Ok folks what now

"That has been added to the list of things I never want to do again." Toxim uses Prestidigitation to clean himself up as well as he can. He offers to clean the others too.

(Male Human Wizard (Universal) 9)

Daurros takes Toxim up on his offer of a clean-up, then opines, "We should probably check out the lizard's lair first. However, I suspect it is the other tunnel that we will want to take."

(Female Shifter Rogue 9)

Karkalla Takes up the offer of a clean up from Toxim as well "Err what are we going ta do about him?" She asks pointing at Urol "I doubt that Lavinia will be ta pleased at us just laving him here when we head back."

"If the gods favor us, we will encounter, and defeat, another basilisk so we can cure him as well. If not, maybe we can take him back with us and keep him until we can find a way to cure him."

"It is his bloody fault we are here in the first place" Ardanto thinks about kicking the gnome and decides differently. "Well we can't leave him here, lets hide him in this bush," Ardanto carefully drags the gnome statue over to under a near by bush and conceals him.

"What now?" Ardanto asks "Urol wanted to explore the ruins, not me, I am nt even sure I want to risk its lair, in case it has a mate or brood of young ones."

Meta gaming, I guess we need the experience from this part to be on track so we should head into the ruins, assuming that their is more to the ruins than a Basilisk lair.

"I'm in for exploring the ruins. I guess I'm able to carry the statue gnome back to the shore, if not, then I drag him." Guard says, letting his view not stray too far away from the entries.

"I'd like to see what I was stoned for. I want to explore the ruins."

Thoven takes Toxim up on the offer as well and nods."I believe we should continue with exploring the ruins, if nothing else than for the memory of the poor little gnome."

(Male Half-elf Monk 4/Sorcerer 1)

Ardanto Valanto wrote:

Finn watches with amusement. "Are you afraid a rock-eating monster will come along and gobble him up?"

"I agree; let's investigate the temple. But be on your guards, everyone -- this place could be full of traps and snares..."

Finn searches for traps every step of the way.

(Female Shifter Rogue 9)

"I say we give the temple a look over since we already came all the way out here." Karkalla begins to follow Finn

(Male Human Wizard (Universal) 9)

"Absolutely. I did not trek all this way through a hot jungle, attacked by tigers, and turned to stone not to get something out of it. Leave Urol here; we'll grab him on the way out. And maybe we could even take a few of the other statues, also - my guess is they may yet live." Daurros follows the others into the ruins.

(Male Half-elf Monk 4/Sorcerer 1)

"If we could catch a basilisk alive, we could even 'milk' it for blood; that could rescue all sort of people. Or we could turn an irritating passenger to stone, and revive him at the end of the journey. Think of the possibilities!"

Left or right folks. You can see two tunnels. Better get moving before Finn starts seeing dollar signs on his Basilisk powered "cyro storage" ideal

(Male Half-elf Monk 4/Sorcerer 1)

Finn turns down the left corridor, checking the ground, walls and ceiling for traps, and listening and sniffing for any signs of life.

Perception: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (13) + 20 = 33

(Female Shifter Rogue 9)

Karkalla will have a look down the other corridor mostly just keeping an eye and ear out for trouble.

1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19

"Hey! Don't split up!
Now, that beast came out there to the right, so I guess we go left first?"

(Male Half-elf Monk 4/Sorcerer 1)

By the way, do we have any footprint experts who can tell if there are multiple sets of basilisk footprints around?

(Female Shifter Rogue 9)

"I'm not splitting up I'm just making sure that noting is going ta jump us whilst we check out the other hall"

(Male Half-elf Monk 4/Sorcerer 1)

By the way, Finn uses Dancing Lights for illumination as usual.

"Actually, I am a footprint expert."
Perception 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Survival 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16 includes +1 Ranger bonus

The Basilisks tracks only go though the right tunnel, the left tunnel is 5' wide and the basilisk would have had a hard timing moving easily though it.

I'll check out the basilisk tunnel first. Maybe theirs a lair with another one we can use to cure Urol. I suggest we keep a good spread between us to minimize the danger of all of us being turned to stone again though.

As this places has no light, you either took a torch, a lights pell or a lantern. Just let me know which one

Toxim travels down the darkened tunnel with the others slightly behind him he comes upon a chamber with a huge statue of a Eleven man outfitted in decayed skins and cracked skulls, his gaping and tooth filled mouth wide enough to swallow a halfling whole stands to the north. A battered but once intricately carved well sits to the south . The whole area is littered with skulls and shards of rusted metal.

Map

As always if I have ya in an order ya do not want , let me know

Snem, shining like a torch, hovers over the group, providing lighting enough for them. Guard keeps to the rear, blocking the entry with his body and shield.

Ardanto steps warily, not at all sure that this is a good idea.

"Hey Daurros," he turns to his companion and grins, "have you been here before, because there is a statue of you." Ardanto chuckles at his companion, relieved that his friend is no longer looking at him with a stony visage.

He looks at Toxim for permission to proceed onward into the chamber proper.

Seeing no basilisk, Toxim gives the 'all clear'. He then goes over to inspect the statue.

Perception 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

Wells, I have a bad record with wells:
I got dissolved in the dragon lance adventures when I looked in a well by a Black Dragon that lived down it.
I had a PC dragged down a well by an pack of ghouls in a home brew adventure.
I fell while climbing a well into a cavern in another adventure and almost drown fighting a water weird.
It is a running joke with my group, it is the 'monster' I am most scared of. So I hope that puts this into context, maybe I can break my run of bad luck?

Ardanto wanders over to well and peers cautiously over the side, ready to shout 'hello!' down the hole and listen for his echo.

Edit: Oh and there was the time the well was a mimic and it beat me half to death with the bucket.

(Male Human Wizard (Universal) 9)

Don't forget the well in the City of Opal pbp where a bunch of ghouls climbed out. Or was Ten running and screaming like a girlscout then? ;-)

Daurros smirks at his friend's joke. "Actually, the statue reminded more of your last one-night stand." Daurros does take a moment to look the statue over, however.

knowledge (religion) 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (8) + 13 = 21

He'll then come over to where Ardanto is, pick up a small stone, cast light on it, and toss it down the well.

(Male Half-elf Monk 4/Sorcerer 1)

Anything that looks like a basilisk nest?

Finn searches the debris and also tries to detect any magical auras with Detect Magic.

Perception: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (13) + 20 = 33

Thoven stands at the rear of the group with Guard, his bow at the ready as they watch the entrance.

(Female Shifter Rogue 9)

Karkalla heads into the room and heads over to the well that Ardanto is standing at

You just had to go taunt the well didn't ya? Just had to do it.

As most of the group looks around the chamber, Ardanto looks down the well yelling smartly. And something answers. A cacophony of maddening sound comes from the well I need will checks everyone As an Amorphous form of mouths and eyes explodes from the well. A stream of something lashes out toward Karkalla Need a fort save here As it attacks Ardanto with it's many mouths 5hp

Ok that counts as a surprise round, just had to yell down the well..sigh one in every bunch hehe. And as your rolling saves the first one here go ahead and roll group init.

Karkalla Fires off twice at the beast, but with Ardanto engaged with the beast she can't get a good hit and her aim goes off.

Ardanto pulls his blades, fending off attacks from the beast and slices into it, but his weapon seems to meet some resistance. Finn moves forward thrusting his spear into the thing.
