Ardato moves forward slicing into the demon, Guard follows but is unable to land a blow upon the Ape thing. It seems to be hurt and angry and it calls out something "Sovark Kalsa!" As it bounds toward Karkalla filled with rage. It claws and bites her before bounding toward the far end of the room.31 hp It seems to avoid drawing attacks as it moves, if just barely

due to the pit and massive fire blocking you Toxim would have to move to fire,
Toxim races to finish to demon, but his shot is wide. Karkalla however does not have that issue and empties her clip at the Ape. She puts three arrows into it, leaving it spawled and bleeding upon the floor. The captives drop another fire feet and scream as the fire gets ever closer.
The battle however,its not yet over. Something must have heard the demons cries, and it has responded. Even as the demons 's blood pools upon the stone the Twin headed statue moves! even as you watch the massive stone thing Howls! a sound that rips though you like the dead clawing at your very souls. The walks down the stairs, and around the fire, you can see cunning like a jungle cat gleaming in those stone eyes.

keep in mind it has reach. Also just saw the chain question. They are 20feet in the air, the flames are 10 feet high. You could shut the winch off with a str check but you would need to reach it and it is 10' off the floor.

This got interesting I am doing your actions in order that you posted as he goes first..
Karkalla reloads her weapon and starts to circle the fire pit. Finn moves forward and trying to put himself between the beast and everyone else. Ardanro moves forward trying to avoid a hit, lucky for him his armor is tough. He does dig into the statue with a powerful it.
Daurros places a spell upon the thing, but also engulfing Finn and Ardanto in the process. Guard moves forward a bit, but the Thing seems to play no mind to the tentacles which have a hard time garbing it.
The chain slips close to the fire and someone scream, Aver is begging for help as the heat starts to roast them

The thing seems content to just stand there and attack the one opponent in reach. It lets back its head and Howls again DC 18 will, those that already failed become panicked if they fail again It lays into Ardanto, but just can't seem to get bast the armor at all.
Andy it seems is not the only one who can't roll more then 5. I also forgot to move Daurros on the map.

I based my casting of the black tentacles spell on the previous map and the fact that Daurros had initiative before anyone else except Snem and the statue. Wouldn't Finn and Ardanto be able to avoid since they go after? I'm not clear why they would go before Daurros ...
Finn, based on my calcs, your CMD is 24, so no, you wouldn't be grappled. And Ardanto's is 25, also a no. I'd also bet a good amount the statue, ain't, either.

Oops, I missed the grapple check in your post. Finn's CMD is actually 28 because he gets to add his Wis modifier and his monk AC modifier, too.
If Finn goes after the Black Tentacles, he won't move into the area of effect. Instead, he'll deactivate his spear and move to the edge of the forest of tentacles.

I was just going in any order really, I saw the roll Knew they where safe so just went with it. Ardanto being Ardanto, I figed he would charge in anyhow and Finn was on the edge. Toxim you may also take an action for this round as well. I'll add the Init count just to help

You know, I'm starting to wonder at this dice roller, too. My last 14 d20 rolls: 4,6,5,20,1,5,7,19,5,8,6,8,7,12. That's an average of an 8 on each roll.

In my face to face role play last night. My second level barbarian got an AOO on the enemy, critical fumbled and drew a card from the deck that stated "you wound yourself and the hit is a critical threat". I then proceeded to roll a 19 to confirm and drew a card that was double damage and 2d6 subdual damage. Luckily I had ended my rage, so being fatigued saved me from death when I rolled a 10 and 12 for great-axe damage and put my self at -12, 1 point shy of dead. This is how my dice rolls are going recently.
Ardanto just thinks the tentacles erupting from the ground are an extension of the statues tentaclar nature, but his knees buckle as a second howl rips through his mind.

Snem blasts at the thing and Daurros hits it with an acid bolt. Ardanto, standing in the forest of tentacles lays into the statue, most of his swings go wide but he does get two solid hits. Guard not wanting to let the thing close to the others take a hit from the heat and wades into the spell as well, striking at the Statue with his hammer, but also taking a hit as he neared the beast.
Finn casts a spell upon himself, growing larger. Toxim casts a spell upon his bow and Karkalla runs toward the switch, jumping and hangs from it.

Its been 24 hours so I am gonna go ahead and update
Snem still blasts away at the thing as Daurros throws another spell at it which seems to be effective as stone scorches and melts and the forest of tentacles seems to grab the thing, but they also grab Ardanto and Guard. Ardanto easily breaks free , Guard however does not.
Finn stabs into it twice, ripping chunks from its body as Toxim casts a spell upon Ardanto, making him Large and Karkalla disables the wench.

You can drop to the ground as a free action. The switch is 10' off the ground, but you would only be 4 or 5 feet from the ground. But the damage from Finns attacks and the acid is enough.
Finn steps forward and hits the stature twice again, but the damage and the acid had done its job and the thing breaks, crumbling to the ground. The light fades from its stone eyes and it lays upon the ground as so much rumble. The two captive above the fire breath easier knowing they will be saved, as soon as someone gets them away from the fire anyhow.
Guard feels the change first and strongest but the rest of you feel it as well. It is as if some great evil has been lifted, the menace of the place now seems less. Although the party does not yet know it, outside the fog lifts, the grip of evil is gone from the land, the crew breaths a sigh of relief as they can feel it leave. A great cheer goes up "The capt'n's Done it!" In the months to come the jungle will reclaim this place and the stain of other worldly-ness will in time vanish into the green.

Congrats all! Four installments of the Savage Tide done on a PbP; that's quite the accomplishment. Thanks for the great game so far, Seeker!
As the statue crumbles, Daurros wastes no time in beginning to search the room for magic and valuables (take 20 on Perception and use detect magic liberally). He leaves the rescue of the captives to the others (indeed, he acts as if they aren't even there or any concern).
After searching the area, he walks over to the corpse of the ape-demon. Examining the teeth/fangs, he calls Ardanto. "My friend, can you assist me with these? I think I'd like a necklace." He proceeds to remove all of the teeth, hopefully with Ardanto's help.

Finn uses his reach and the butt end of his spear to maneuver the two prisoners out of the way of the firepit in order to untie them, if he can.
"I agree with you, Daurros -- I feel safer here now, with these horrid creatures dead."

Ardanto gets engulfed by a tentacle, but only briefly as the demon statue goes down under Finn's attacks and the spell is dismissed.
He assists in saving the captives as best he can, braving the edge of the flames if required before turning his attention to Daurros.
"Let me remove those ol' friend, not as if any more gore will make me more messy." He helps Daurros collect as many of the teeth as he can.
Holding up the sandals he holds the enormous against his feet and smiles, "these are like boats," he grins at the others to try and release the pent up tension as the feeling of impending doom that has lay heavy over his head for a while finally lifts.
Four parts down, wow, great work, especially seeing how many players have been here for a long time.

You toss the bodies into the fire and make your way out to the crew, you are cheered as you leave the temple. Toxim is pounced upon by Lirith, Amella gives Finn a award smile and Arainn seems to look Daurros over at a distance but does not approach the wizard.You are swamped by questions as they know something went down but not what. Avaner seems subdued and says nothing, staring into the jungle.
The watch that nigh goes easy, nothing seems to come near the camp and the place seems far less sinister. The next morning you make your way back to the smoldering fire pit. It seems nothing but bones and ashes but with a few hours search you do turn up a ring, a bit blackened from the ash but it is magical.
