GM

Ok this is a surprise round for Ardanto after that the round begins

As ardanto closes in on the water, sounds can be heard all around, from behind and in front of the group a madding howl of anguish and hunger can be heard. From the darkness more of the shambling hungry dead appear madly running toward the group. Looking up toward the oncoming threat Ardanto misses the 2 forms of the massive 5' crabs raising from the dark water. One claw digs into him4HP

Init

Ithaniar=13
Whisper=13
Ardanto=12
Finn=12
Daurros=12
Forzakhad=11
Guard=11
Zombies=10
Crabs=10

New map

Finn you have reach you get an AoO, Ok every body round 1 fight!

Female Human (mostly) Rogue 2

Feeling panicked as she realises they're surrounded and sticks close to Guard drawing her rapier.

The plan is to hold her action until Guard goes, seeing which target he goes for and moving in to flank (tumbling if need be) in the hopes the fighter will bear the brunt of the attack and she can support.

Seeker:

Spoiler:
You said Vark's rapier was well-balanced, was that masterworked well-balanced or not? I don't remember if that was mentioned or not

EDIT: Acrobatics (1d20+7=27) if needed
Attck from flank (1d20+4+2=26)
Damage (1d6=4)

Male Half-elf Monk 4/Sorcerer 1

Finn is startled by the appearance of the crustaceans, but stabs out with his longspear, hoping to find a crack in the monster's carapace.

attack roll + damage: 1d20+3=16 1d8+4=12
add action point to attack roll: 1d6=5

Then he lashes out again, but his speartip glances harmlessly off.

attack + damage: 1d20+3=5 1d8+4=7

GM

whisper

Spoiler:

Yes it is masterwork, sorry forgot to let ya know

GM

Finn

Spoiler:
Heh I meant the zombie but the crabs work to

Female Human (mostly) Rogue 2

Keeper;

Spoiler:
Thanks hon! Editted the post above to include rolls :)

GM

Whisper

Spoiler:

Rogues can sneak attack undead now :} Also just were on the map are you moving? I may need to start numbering the grid.

Female Human (mostly) Rogue 2

Keeper:

Spoiler:
Oooh, shiny does that mean that was a critical threat or not? I forget what can be critted now and what can't. Heh.

Either way; SNEAK ATTACK! (1d6=2) Well that was lame!

If she does threaten a crit feel free to roll the confirmation for me. As for where she moves; it depends what Guard does, she intends to flank with him against his target & fight in tandem with him (rogue/fighter pairings are always great for flanking joy!)

GM

whisper

Spoiler:

As far as I know crits still do not work. Will move ya with guard, and lame or not it did push ya over the DR :}

Male Human Wizard (Universal) 9

Arrgghh! I said Daurros would keep to the middle of the group, not the rear ... oh well

Daurros curses as the corpses shamble into view. "I prepared spells to take on human opponents, not these things! Damn that Vanthus Vanderboren! If I get a hold of him ..." Daurros withdraws one of his mage armor scrolls and casts the spell (raising his AC to 16). Assuming Guard tries to get by him to get at the undead, Daurros will try his best to make room to allow the warforged past.

GM

Daurros, sorry that was my mistake for not seeing that I will change it.
will update the map if i can if not act as if your in the middle

Male Human Wizard (Universal) 9

No problem; just improves survivability a bit. Wizards do not make good rear guards! :-) My action in round 1 remains the same anyway (casting mage armor)

GM

I goofed this is the right map

I forgot to update new movement had an issue with my map program and had to redo it all.

Female Human (mostly) Rogue 2
Daurros Erdai wrote:

Neither do panicking girly rogues! :P

GM

Ah but ya have guard and can sneak attack, between you and the wizard your much better in a melee fight;}

Fighter Level 9

Ardanto lets out a startled "Whoop!" and attempts to bring his hand axe down on the nearest crab's (surviving crab?) carapace.

Hand axe attack on the surviving attack. (1d20+2=17, 1d6+1=7)

That should read crab not attack. I assume 7 damage is enough to kill it?

"Yah, I'm taking these beauties with me, just think of the crab cakes we can make from them!"

Assuming that the hand axe blow kills the crab, Ardanto will take a 5 foot step directly north (up on the map) to attack the zombie with his Longsword.

Attack on the zombie! (1d20+2=20, 1d8+3=7)

If for some reason the crab did not die then transfer my attack onto it.

He seems to not even of noticed that he has been nipped by one of them.

GM

Ithaniar once more calls upon divan power and small ghostly warriors swarm out from him in a wave of light diving into wounds and attacking the undead. The one facing Forzakhad is driven back by the flow of energy. Finn and Ardanto wounds close +3HP

male Kalashtar Shaper 2

Forzakhad curses as the creatures swarm the companions. He takes a step back (5ft. Step down and left) and calls a Mind Thrust against the Zombie that had stepped back from the Kalashtar.

Mind thrust (1d10=9)

Warforged Fighter 2 / Incarnate 4 / Ironsoul Forgemaster 3

Guard sees the undead closing in from all sides, so he turns around, charging against one of the undead that comes from behind. As he charges, he let's his halberd drop, drawing his heavy flail to meet the undead.3 squares east, attack on the one direct east of Guard then.

Charge attack against undead round 1 (1d20+4+2=12, 1d10+4=5)
Action point round 1 (1d6=3)
Attack is 15 with the action point. 5 points Bludgeoning damage if it's a hit.

GM

The combat is fierce and fast Finn and Ardanto bring down the crabs only to have one of the hungry dead take a bit out of Finns shoulder 7 Hp Ithaniar calls upon the spirits of his ancestors and chases one of the undead from sight while v uses the power of his mind on the fleeing creature to seemly no effect.Daurros casts a spell from his scrolls as Ithaniar goes down with his throat ripped open, the creatures falls to its knees to feed seemly lost to all else. Guard charges forth and bring his frail to bear, as whisper moves behind him striking the foe to his left with her rapier

Map for round 2

Ok whisper i didn't move you into that pile as you might not want that.Everyone else on the round 2

Warforged Fighter 2 / Incarnate 4 / Ironsoul Forgemaster 3

Guard moves on in the middle of the puddle of undead 5ft. step diagonally, bringing his flail up and letting it fall on the undead he is flanking now with Whisper.

Overhand chop in round 2, flanking with Whisper (1d20+4+2=24, 1d10+6=16)

Fighter Level 9

Did you miss my 5 foot step north and attack on the the zombie there, or did it take me both attacks to kill the crab?

Either way I will step next to the zombie (one step up on the map) and attack with both weapons.

Longsword and hand-axe attacks on the walking corpse. (1d20+2=21, 1d8+3=6, 1d20+2=15, 1d6+1=2)

My great attack rolls continue!

Male Half-elf Monk 4/Sorcerer 1

I keep forgetting that Finn has Combat Reflexes -- he probably should have had 2 attacks of opportunity in round 1. Also, just a reminder that Finn's AC is 18 because of Mage Armor.

Finn is sorely wounded and falls back, stabbing again with his longspear.

5' step backwards
1d20+3=4 1d8+4=11
The great rolls continue...

Isn't the 19 (first attack) a Critical Threat? Roll for Confirmation!

Fighter Level 9
Guard wrote:

We can't critical undead, assuming these are zombies. They can be sneak attacked in Pathfinder, but they are still immune to critical hits.

"Get behind me Master Finn, I'll deal with this brute" Ardanto flashes a grin over his shoulder, then frowns, "Can some one drag the Elf clear?"

Male Human Wizard (Universal) 9

Daurros moves a little further into the room and invokes his Hand of the Apprentice, using it to attack the zombie that brought down Ithaniar with his rapier while remaining behind Finn and Ardanto. Can someone roll for me while I'm at work? The attack is 1d20+4, and damage is 1d6+4.

He yells down to Whisper and Guard. "Whisper! Guard! Can you make your way down to this room? We can shut one or both of the doors and limit their access; taking one down at a time will be much easier!"

Might be easiest if we finish the two in the room first, then turn our attention to the other four. Fighting on two sides could lead to disaster here ... And does anyone have ranks in Heal that can check on Ithaniar?

Warforged Fighter 2 / Incarnate 4 / Ironsoul Forgemaster 3

Attack and damage for Daurros (1d20+4=22, 1d6+4=10)
Heh, my luck is back

"You think those doors will hold them off? Have you looked at those hinges?" Guard shouts back over the ring of clashing weapons.

Male Human Wizard (Universal) 9

Nice rolls! Thanks!

Daurros calls back down to Guard - "Well, I haven't inspected them recently, we're a bit preoccupied! But if you lure 'em back down here, there's a little more room for all of us to maneuver ..." :-)

I also figured that in here, Whisper would be able to flank and provide some sneak attacks. But if Guard would rather fight them in the hallway, I can try and provide some fire support next round ...

GM

Yeah it took two hits to kill the crab. Were waiting on Forzakhad and whispers actions then were be off to the next fun filled round.

male Kalashtar Shaper 2

"Dang, these zombies... gut them good!" shouts Forzakhad as the undead is not affected by his power. "Let's see, if this works." He concentrates and a small orb where the light is bent differently appears before his forehead. As he points to an undead the force orb streaks to the target his eyebrows go together in a frown to keep the orb on its path.

Touch attack (-4 if into melee); force damage (1d20+1=18, 1d4=4)

GM

As the battle rages on the combined efforts of Finn, Daurros and Forzakhad bring the zombie eating on Ithaniar, blood bubbles from his lips but you can not tell if he is alive or dead. Ardanto slashes at the zombie facing him taking half its face and an arm , yet it still comes he barely manages to catch its bite on the haft of his hand ax.

One guard drops one of the zombies with a smashed head as another of the undead charge whisper ,Guard gives it a solid blow sending bits of its ribcage though its chest but it doesn't slow,whisper manages to step aside and stabs into it with her rapier to little effect. The two undead left in the rear leap at guard one biting deep into his soft areas7hp

Ok i made the Aoo rolls and attacked for whisper. Ok on to round 3

map begining of round 3

Warforged Fighter 2 / Incarnate 4 / Ironsoul Forgemaster 3

Guard swings his heavy flail back over his head, smashing it on the undead that attacked Whisper:

Attack round 3. (1d20+4=12, 1d10+6=9)Action point for round 3. (1d6=2)

Fighter Level 9

"I'll deal with this one if you chaps want to help Guard, Whisper or Ith" Ardanto suggests over the sound of combat.

Aranto looks over his shoulder at Master Finn, "How are you holding up ship mate?

Round 3 attacks on the last zombie in the room. (1d20+2=17, 1d8+3=8, 1d20+2=10, 1d6+1=7)

I am not sure a 10 is good enough to hit with the hand axe so I will spend an action point.
Action point on to hand axe attack roll (1d6=5)

Whoop, that looks like two hits for 15 damage in total!

"Take that my faceless friend, may your god have mercy on your soul."

GM

Whisper if ya would like to change your move just let me know,guard and Ardanto have dropped 2 undead that just leaves the 2 facing guard and the one that ran off into the dark.

Female Human (mostly) Rogue 2

Whisper makes a worried noise as her attacks appear to do very little to the walking dead but continues to fight as best she can (which is apparently not very well in her fear of the unnatural things).

The plan is still to flank with guard to get the sneak attack damage, moving to the bottom zombie so shedoesn't get herself surrounded (especially as that means she's near the thinner corridor and a bottleneck situation/a door to slam shut if all goes horribly wrong)

Attack (1d20+4=9)

He's more than welcome to kill the things, I can't hurt them! *girly flail!*

GM

He seems to be good at it doesnt he and v seems to be doing a fine job as well

Male Half-elf Monk 4/Sorcerer 1

"Unh...I'll live, I think. You could teach me a thing or two about fighting, though!"

Finn pulls himself together and makes his way forward to assist Guard and Whisper with his longspear.

Move up behind Guard.

Finn wrote:
"Unh...I'll live, I think. You could teach me a thing or two about fighting, though!"

"Ah, this is nothing, ask Daurros or me about the Ghost Pirates of Slaughter Point sometime over a pint," chuckles Ardanto as he swings at the corpse with gusto.

Warforged Fighter 2 / Incarnate 4 / Ironsoul Forgemaster 3

"Bring me my halberd! I dropped it somewhere around your position" Guard demands, seeing Finn approaching him. "I think it worked better on those... non-living non-constructs..."

Male Half-elf Monk 4/Sorcerer 1

If Finn sees a halberd along the way, he'll pick it up and give it to Guard.

Male Human Wizard (Universal) 9

Daurros, though not a medic, decides he cannot just let Ithaniar bleed to death. He will check Ithaniar to see if he's still alive, and if so, will try and stabilize him.

untrained Heal check (1d20+1=9) Obviously unable to do anything, he will yell for someone's help, saying "He's still alive, but I cannot stabilize him! Can someone help?"

However, if Ithaniar is dead, he will attack the zombie closest to Whisper with his rapier and Hand of the Apprentice.

hand of the apprentice (1d20+4=9, 1d6+4=6)

wow, what a bad series of rolls ...

GM

Ithaniar still lives but is fading fast....yep 2 9's lest your not being attacked right :}

Fighter Level 9

For round 4 Ardanto will try and stabilise Ith, tearing strips off his shirt to try staunch the flow of blood.

Untrained heal check to try and stop Iths bleeding. (1d20=16)

Man I'm good!

Male Human Wizard (Universal) 9

"Well done, my friend! Ardanto Valanto saves another! Now to make sure the creatures don't do the same to our other friends ..."

Warforged Fighter 2 / Incarnate 4 / Ironsoul Forgemaster 3

Round 4: No action: drop Heavy flail, move action: take Halberd, standard action: attack undead.

"Now your getting it handed out." Guard shouts in the direction of the standing two zombies, who tried attacking him.

Attack with Halberd round4: (1d20+4=13, 1d10+6=8)
action point round 4 (1d6=5)
Attack 18, Damage 8 Slashing

male Kalashtar Shaper 2

Frozakhad will attack the zombies in the corridor (in Round 3 and 4) with his orbs of force. "Well done, mates! Now keep it coming and we will prevail." he cries as he watches the others gaining control of the watery room...

Round 3:
mental hammer(touch attack); damage (1d20+1=9, 1d4=4)
Action Point for Round 3:Action point (1d6=5)

Round 4:
mental hammer (touch attack); damage (1d20+1=8, 1d4=3)
Action Point for Round 4:
Action point for round 4 (1d6=4)

GM

A combined attack by guard and whisper drops the foe threating her as Aranto dismembers the last zombie facing him. Finn runs to reinforce guard and whisper garbing guards halberd as he runs. the undead bite at whisper and guard but the fend them off,whisper rolls past guards foe to jap him with some effect as Frozakhad fires off two force bolts one managing to hit the zombie facing guard. Guard grabs his halberd and slashes his foe as finn strikes with his spear. The undead strike again but whisper is unable to fend off as she retreats and her attacker and its teeth tear a wicked gash down her arm7hp as Aranto stops Ithaniar bleeding after failing to stop Ithanair bleeding himself Daurros used his arcane power to stab at the zombie tearing at whisper only to miss as it charged.

ok I made whisper moves and rolled her 2nd attack..a good one btw,also made finns round 4 attack and made some Aoo's for folks

Warforged Fighter 2 / Incarnate 4 / Ironsoul Forgemaster 3

Seing the undead rush by Guard and attack Whisper, he turns around, and slashes his halberd over the back of the attacker.
