Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2

Ayish moves to help the Gnoll that's fallen into the pit. Throwing/lowering a rope as needs be.

Well...she'll do her low strength best, at any rate.

Female Gnome Paladin 5

"I don't think that is a good idea....."

Male Human Cleric 5

If everyone who's injured can gather together, N'Djamena will heal them with a burst of energy.

3d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 5) = 12

GM

everyone but Celena was at max

Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2

Ayish looks over her shoulder at Celena's comment,

"But it is the right thing to do..." She points out.

Still trying to help the injured/wounded/distressed puppy. (^_^)

N'Djamena will still use a channel energy charge. He's got a couple left, I'm pretty sure.

"No. Let it die." Kelden prepares to shoot the gnoll if Ayish does pull it out of the pit.

Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2

Ayish glares at Kelden, though she is distracted by her efforts at helping the critter.

Male Goblin Fighter 1 / Rogue 4

Vrealk hops back over, and puts his effort with Ayish to pull the gnoll out. "Me thinks friend Ayish is right. Not because it right to do, but me thinks we could learn from gnoll what else is here. How many more, where others are, what passages may be below, that stuff. Could be very valuable."

Vrealk does make sure, however, that the gnoll drops any weapons it may have had. "Friend Kelden, keep your bow on it and be ready, please!"

GM

N'djamerna heals Celena a bit as Vrealk and Ayish seem to be busy trying to get the Blind Gnoll out of the pit. If not stopped they are able to fish the Gnoll out in a short time

Actions?

Prepared action to kill the gnoll if needed.

Kelden wrote:

So he's shooting the gnoll? N'Djamena won't stop him, but I want to know whether to start questioning him or not. :-)

Female Gnome Paladin 5

Celena keeps an eye out for any more hostile Gnolls.

Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2

I believe it was "Prepared action to kill the Gnoll if needed. Though thanks ever much for your moral support N'Djamena. (^_~)

Ayish gets the Gnoll out of the pit, with her good friend Vrealk's help, and then sees to its injuries...

"Friend Markhet? Perhaps Mr Larrs might want to come and just say 'Hello' to Mr Gnoll...?" She asks her Gnomish companion. (^_^)

Couldn't hurt things to have a large feline sniffing about the Gnoll to help keep it docile/intimidated.

Kelden's definition of "if needed" is almost certainly different from Ayish's!

GM

I think Keldens definition is "Its a Gnoll! Kill it"

That should indeed be a Prepared action to kill the Gnoll if needed. At least I'm sure that's what was meant.
Kelden agreed to let it out of the pit for questioning. As long as the gnoll is giving good information, there is no need to kill it. Kelden has no intention of taking a gnoll prisoner, though and allowing it to leave only gives Kelden target practice.

Male Human Cleric 5

N'Djamena says to the gnoll (in Gnollish):

"We have killed your king, wretch! If you tell us whatever you know about this temple, we may be merciful to you."

GM

The Gnoll mostly sobs about being blind and snarls about how "You can't kill king! King chosen by God!'

"Oh! Markhet doesn't understand Gnoll," the gnome says clenching her fists in disgust, "Ask it if it speaks common, and then command that it speak in common so the rest of us can understand what it's saying. Also ask it if that was the Carrion King we killed because that is all Markhet's old master wanted from this one."

Male Human Cleric 5

N'Djamena ignores Markhet.

Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2

Ayish does her best to help alleviate the Gnolls wounds..and its blinded condition...she hums a soft tune, sounding almost like a lullaby...

Casting 'Cure Light Wounds':1d8 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Ayish does her best to see if the Gnoll does at least understand the common speech...

Diplomacy:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25

Unless some accident in combat has put out its eyes, or something equally horrible...

Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2

Ayish does her best to help alleviate the Gnolls wounds..and its blinded condition...she hums a soft tune, sounding almost like a lullaby...

Casting 'Cure Light Wounds':1d8 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

Ayish does her best to see if the Gnoll does at least understand the common speech...

Diplomacy:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18

Unless some accident in combat has put out its eyes, or something equally horrible...

GM

The Gnoll seems not the understand common at all, however once it regains its sight it howls in rage and disbelief at seeing the Carrion King dead in the pit.

Male Human Cleric 5

N'Djamena comments, "I don't think he's going to help us. What will you do with him?"

Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2

Ayish does try and calm the Gnoll's anguish etc.

Diplomacy:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23 (Sign language etc)

She will also try and find some sort of common language the group and the Gnoll might share. Goblin perhaps?

Failing that, who;s got a rolled up scroll I can bat it on the nose with? "Bad doggy!" (^_~)

GM

Some of you speak gnoll if I recall.

Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2

Sadly, it is not Ayish. Though, for next level. Also, on the morrow she can prepare 'Comprehend Languages', so understanding what he(?) is saying will become easier.

Kelden speaks gnoll. He even has several choice words and phrases he's willing to teach Ayish.

Male Human Cleric 5

N'Djamena speaks Gnoll (obviously), but he doesn't think they'll get very far.

Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2

Have N'Djamena or Kelden ever shown that they speak Gnoll? Or has the party just kind of relied upon them 'listening in' on what the Gnolls have been saying?

Kelden is known to be well versed in gnoll-ish knowledge and information.

Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2

Ayish looks to Kelden for help in conversing with the Gnoll.

Diplomacy:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26

Female Gnome Paladin 5

Celena speaks Gnoll

GM

I'll allow a diplomacy roll or an intimidate by someone who can speak Gnoll to make him talk.

While he can not understand Ayish, she does seem to calm him down.

Male Goblin Fighter 1 / Rogue 4

"Me thinks we should also get the Carrion King's body out of pit. He could have good stuff!"

Male Human Cleric 5

Is the Carrion King still large-sized?

"Good thinking, Vrealk. Why don't you climb down and tie a rope around him and we can haul him back up?"

Male Goblin Fighter 1 / Rogue 4

"Ummmm ... you see what happen to that gnoll when he fell in, yes? Me not so sure anyone should go in. We have any grappling hook to catch him and drag back out?"

Male Human Cleric 5
Vrealk wrote:

Obviously I must have missed it. As far as I know, nothing in particular happened, other than falling damage, I guess. Am I missing something?

Male Goblin Fighter 1 / Rogue 4

Well, he took falling damage, but became blinded. Maybe I misinterpreted - it looked to me as if he fell and started screaming, and when fished him out was blind. Could be I'm just not remembering correctly ...

Male Human Cleric 5

He was blinded by Glitterdust, and that caused him to stumble into the pit.

Still, it wouldn't hurt to lasso him out would it? No reason to risk disease or something crawling down there.

Male Goblin Fighter 1 / Rogue 4
N'Djamena wrote:

Forgot the glitterdust ... Sorry, my mistake. But yeah, still a bit worried of disease or creatures that lurk in carrion pits.

GM

You haul the rather large dead Gnoll from the pit. It has not changed size but it must be the biggest gnoll you have ever seen. Easily the size of an Ogre. Of the items upon the body an amulet, ring, the breastplate and his axe are magical.

Female Gnome Paladin 5

Celena looks the axe over

Male Human Cleric 5

N'Djamena will try his hand at identification.

amulet: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
ring: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
axe: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
breastplate: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22

Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2

Ayish will continue to handle the Gnoll diplomacy. :P

Diplomacy:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13

GM

The Gnoll stays calm if not all that helpful. N'djamerna is only able to really understand the Armor, which looks to big for any of you to use.

it is +2 breastplate, the axe is large size as well and very magical. Any other actions in this room?

Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2

Well...if we've looted and pillaged everything? On to the next loot and pillage? (^_~)

Male Human Cleric 5

N'Djamena asks the gnoll once again what other dangers are left in this area.
