Female Gnome Paladin 5

"Think you could sneak in and get it or do you want me to rush it?"

GM

Once the doors are open sneaking is not an option, so I'll be a roll for init. It is just the one scorpan, but it is Huge sized. You can leave it where it is and bypass it but if ya want to kill it that can be done as well.

I want to kill it.

"Markhet wonders if this monster could be used against our enemies?" the tiny gnome muses, "This one thinks that luring it towards our foe or gnolls into it's path could be to our advantage."

Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2

Not sharing her friend Markhet's appreciation of nature, Ayish hangs back upon seeing the large (HUGE!) insect.

"How did it get in here?" She questions, even as she thinks of what powers to bring to near on the imminent fight.

Yes, I know scorpions are not insects.

GM

close enough to count as an insect in my book :)

You swing the doors open and advance upon the scorpion that now see's its chance for both freedom and a meal

Init sigh doesn't matter it rolled a 3

N'Djamena calls a Blessing from Nethys on the group.

cast Bless

"Markhet doesn't understand why no one ever listens to her advice," the tiny gnome muses, "It's not as though she doesn't know what she's talking about."

I thought Seeker was rolling initiative for us

Markhet will cast produce flame, then she will steer Larrs around the wall to set up flanks for next turn.

GM

I did indeed roll initiative, the scop rolled a 3 however, none of you did. You all go first. It did not matter in which order as it goes last.

Vrealk moves into the room trying to get flank on the beast as Ayish drawls her whip. N'djamerna blesses the group as Kelden firs off an arrow that misses the scorpion. As Markhet casts a spells and moves Larrs to flank.

Celena still has not went. But she can not close the distance before it moves, so feel free to post her actions but I am gonna let it move.

The Scorpion however, just sees a meal running toward it and it springs at Vrealk. He manages to avoid the claws but the scorpain hits him with it's tail 14 damage, dc 20 fort save

Female Gnome Paladin 5

Ah apoligies I had rolled my own initative and assumed I was going after the thing

Celena charges the scorpion

Attack

1d20 + 13 ⇒ (8) + 13 = 21

Damage

1d6 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2

Ayish moves into the room behind her friends, unfurling her whip and raising her voice to lift her companions spirits.

So, trying to stay behind N'Djamena and Kelden, using Bardic 'Inspire courage' for a +1 to every one. waiting to move into 15' range behind the fighters. *Bows*

Male Goblin Fighter 1 / Rogue 4

FYI, you have me in the middle of the room, and I said in my post Vrealk stays along the wall ... it was to try and force it to make a move to reach me and avoid a full attack. Taking the long way around, but since I'm there ...

fort 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16

EDIT: I'll spend a hero point to add +4 and make the save.

Vrealk moves in closer, dodging and weaving towards the creatures rear.

Once he's close enough, Vrealk attacks with his dagger

damage 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 and if everyone's in position 2d6 ⇒ (4, 4) = 8

Male Human Cleric 5

N'Djamena jogs forward to get close to the wounded goblin, trying to avoid any deadly claws and stingers at the same time.

GM

Opps, sorry Vrealk I'll move you to the side and move him and leave the strike alone.

Celena who had been closing on the scorpion now charges, avoiding it's tail as she closes she brings her weapon down upon the beast. Ayish moves forward and starts to sing, a new confidence fills you all.Vrealk meanwhile rolls and dodges the scorpion flanking it with Celena and stabbing into its joints. N'djamena gets as close as he can while staying out of the things reach and Kelden puts an arrow into the thing.

Markhet, larrs and the scorp have yet to go. Also I need another Save from Vrealk

The map

Male Goblin Fighter 1 / Rogue 4

fort save 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23

Larrs Charges forward biting at the scorpion:
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 241d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
While Markhet flings magical fire at the monster:
Ranged touch attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 161d6 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

Both those attacks don't include the bless and Larrs' attack doesn't include any possible flanking bonuses.

GM

Larrs closes on the scorpion as Markhet throws her fire, hitting the beast, Larrs runs toward biting its leg. However Larrs is hit by the scorpions ail as he closes 7 hp

The scorpion attacks the fores in front of it, hitting Celena twice with it's claws 21 hp and Larrs once more with its tail 6 more Hp, He needs a Dc 21 fort save

Vrealk bares his teeth and lets out an audible hiss, seeming to contain both glee and hatred. He attacks the scorpion with both daggers, taking advantage of his position.

Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2

Round 3:

Ayish moves forwards, to get closer to the fight and continues to raise her voice inspiring her friends.

So, trying to get to about 15' distance for next round.

Perception:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15

As her companions are engaged with the bug, Ayish eyes glance around the room before returning to watch the fray.

Female Gnome Paladin 5

Celena continues her attack

1d20 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14+2 if flanking

Damage

1d6 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

Markhet throws some more fire (ranged touch): 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 5 + 1 = 91d6 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

Did the save go up? I thought Vrealk only needed to save vs a DC20!

Fort Save Larrs: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

Larrs goes full attack! (rolls take into account bless but not any possible flanking bonuses):

1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 141d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 271d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 211d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Edit: Possible Crit on a claw
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 111d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

GM

Larrs was hit twice, which ups the DC. Once with an AoO and once from its full attack

N'djamerna moves forward healing the party with his gods grace.Vrealk tears into the scorpions under belly. Ayish moves forward to get in range of her whip, but unfortunately that puts her in range of the scorpions deadly tail, which digs into her arm 6 damage, I need a Dc 20 Fort save Celena swings but her weapon bounces harmlessly off the scorpions armored hide. Markhet manages to miss the scorpion with her fire but Larrs also digs into its underbelly.

That leaves Kelden and the scorpion this round.

(O,o)

Fort Save:1d20 - 2 ⇒ (10) - 2 = 8

Ayish gasps and staggers under the scorpion's blow but continues to raise her voice in aid of her fellows, readying her whip to strike back at the beast.

This...might be bad...

GM

yes, it might be. And yep it has a long reach.

How many AoO does this thing have?

GM

Answered the AoO in OCC, Also been 24 so I am going for Kelden.

Keldan fires at the scorpion but again misses as it moves about. The Scorpion moves about , bringing it's full fury upon Vrealk hitting him three times, twice with its claws and then its tail 24 hp, a New save for you DC 20

The sting from the scorpion burns though Ayish making her feel weak 4 str damage

New round, I will need a new save for Larrs and Ayish as well.

The map

Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2

Fort Save:1d20 - 2 ⇒ (6) - 2 = 4

Ayish stands straight, her voice still strong as she flicks and unfurls her whip at the monstrous vermin that has struck at her.

Att Roll:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13

Dam roll:1d4 ⇒ 1

Though the pallor showing in her cheeks is evidence that the scorpion's poison is doing its work within her.

Yay dice roller...(-_-)

Male Human Cleric 5

"Nethys save us all!" N'Djamena cries as he channels more healing energy.

3d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 6) = 11

Larrs goes full attacks! (again):1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 91d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 261d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

I neglected to include any possible flank bonuses in there but I have included N'Djamena's bless :)

Markhet plays with fire again: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 241d6 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Edit: Another Save for Larrs:
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25

I forget how poison works, I always thought that when you make your first save you don't have to make another, but if you fail your first you have to keep rolling. Perhaps that's how it used to work?

Female Gnome Paladin 5

crit confirm 2 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (3) + 13 = 16
damage 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

heh, 19 and 20 followed by 2 and 3

GM

Ayish feeling weak from the poison misses her target, N'djamerna heals as Larrs attacks the scorpion, hitting only once, Markhet hits it with fire but feels the scorpions sting form her effort 5 Hp and now I need the Dc 20 save from you. Celena step forward to slam her weapon into its head as Vrealk step forward to finish it off.

The scorpion lays dead at your feet but some of you still feel its effects.

It says to saves to me that always means just that, 2 saves. Vrealk is fine as is larrs, ayish has 4 more saves and Markhet 6. Or 2 success which ever comes first.

I did post. It was even a crit. Why didn't it show up?

GM

The boards wants someone to die?

Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2

Ayish sighs, staggers and slumps to the floor as the scorpion's venom courses through her veins.

"I...I, do not feel very well..." She manages weakly.

Also, technically, scorpions don't have heads either. :P

Male Human Cleric 5

N'Djamena tries to use his knowledge of herbs, poisons and other healing lore to assist Ayish.

Heal: take 10 for a result of 20

Fort:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Edit: Yuck! Assuming Markhet doesn't drop to 0 STR:

Markhet takes 10 on a heal check to give herself a +4 on the next roll:

1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20

Take 10 on another heal check:

1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27

I want venom immunity!

Male Goblin Fighter 1 / Rogue 4

Vrealk searches the room while the rest tend to their poisoning. "See, me has exterminated vermin for long time. Get immune to their poison!"

perception 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13

Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2

Ayish mumbles something to Vrealk's words, waving a hand feebly in her friend's direction from where she lies upon the floor.

Female Gnome Paladin 5

Celena looks over her half crippled team mates "There's no way we can go any further with them like this. We best out of here before more Gnolls show up."

Male Goblin Fighter 1 / Rogue 4

"Does not friend-N'Djamena have magic that can heal? Maybe we stay overnight to fix?"

Lesser Restoration might help here, wouldn't it?

Male Human Cleric 5

"Yes, if Nethys wills it I can pray tonight for magic that will restore your weakened state. Should we retreat and come back later, then?"

Isn't this what I should be using my Scribe Scroll feat for? D'oh!
