GM

"If you truly leave once the traitors are dead, you may move though here to attack them. We will not aid you child of Saranae" He spats. But we shall not will we hinder you. Killing my masters wayward servants is a service to his glory!'

Female Gnome Paladin 5

"Very well" Celena responds

GM

If you wish to say or do nothing else, three trogs lead you though some tunnels into a gate way that opens into the inner court yard of the temple. The same place that you where before. However now maybe you have a place to at lest retreat to.

Female Gnome Paladin 5

Any obvious entrances into the main temple?

GM

No, it just takes you to the main courtyard where you had your last flight. You are hidden from the far side of the map, but will be in plain view of anyone in the center standing watch where the last group was.

"That could have gone better, though I am glad it didn't go worse."

Male Goblin Fighter 1 / Rogue 4

Vrealk slinks alongside the others quietly. However, at one point, he will ask the troglodytes, in Goblin, a question.

Goblin

Spoiler:
"Me sorry, but me only talks goblin. You understand me?"

If none acknowledge that they understand, and ONLY if none of the trogs understand his Goblin, he'll shrug as if he can't communicate another way, smile, and walk a bit further away from them. He sidles up to N'Djamena (the only other person in the group to speak Goblin, as far as I know) and says quietly,

Goblin

Spoiler:
"You know, friend N'Djamena, we will have to kill them after we deal with the gnolls, yes? They can't be allowed to stay here."

Male Human Cleric 5

N'Djamena replies (in Goblin, under the same circumstances quoted above):

Spoiler:
"I'm sure that they will pose a threat at some time in the future, but only the Mighty Archmage sees all. For now, all I hope is that they stay out of our way."

male Human 8th level seeker/6th level gamer /4th level bad speller

The trogs seem not to under stand a word. And they lead you toward the exist. You can watch for a time and see the guards have been replaced. You only see one near the stairs and the mounted ones seem to rotate. It might be possible to sneak up and take that one out allowing the others to cover ground and get the drop on ones inside.

GM

Actions anyone?

I know I posted a few days ago.
"Vrealk, I believe that this is your forte. There's a rat that needs killing."

Male Goblin Fighter 1 / Rogue 4

Vrealk creeps forward with his daggers, behind the gnoll by the stairs. He lashes out with his dagger when he's in reach.

stealth 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (5) + 21 = 26
dagger 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25
damage 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 plus 2d6 ⇒ (4, 5) = 9

GM

Vrealk waits to no one is looking his way and rushes across the open, Hiding in the shadows of the dome he waits till the bored looking Gnoll passes by and pounces upon the much taller foe, the agile Goblin climbs the gnolls back, silting its throat before it even knows its under attack. It crumbles near the stairs out of sight of the domes other Gnolls. The coast is now clear, but you will have to move quickly to get inside and finish the others off before they can raise an alarm.

Female Gnome Paladin 5

"Okay lets move" Celena rushes over to the building

Male Goblin Fighter 1 / Rogue 4

Vrealk says quietly, "Quick, help me move body out of sight!"

Kelden can't suppress his smile as he hurries over to help hide the gnoll's corpse.

Female Gnome Paladin 5

Celena also helps drag the body to cover

"Back to killing gnolls," the tiny gnome muses, "it is good to be getting back to basics."

Male Human Cleric 5

N'Djamena moves forward as stealthily as possible (not very).

GM

You sneak up the stairs you can make out three gnolls in the room, they seem to be playing dice and have not seen you.

The map

Male Goblin Fighter 1 / Rogue 4

Is it possible for Vrealk to sneak up on them (i.e., is there any kind of room furnishings or is it a bare room)?

"Do we attack at range, or sneak up?" Vrealk whispers.

Female Gnome Paladin 5

"Bit of both.". Celena responds

Odd could have sworn I picked up a small Longbow/shortbow but dont have 1 in my equipment. Did I pick one up at smome point or am I just misremembering?.

GM

Room is pretty bare, no real place to hide.

AC 21, FF 19, T 12; HP 41/41
Shield

Use Wand of Shield.
I can use my last scroll of Invisibility on Vrealk if he'd like. Then he could signal the ambush by eviscerating one of the gnolls.

GM

As long as you are not loud they will not notice you until you come into the room.

Male Human Cleric 5

"If you think it would help, I could ask Nethys's aid for creating a zone of silence. Personally, I think I should save it in case we need to confound an enemy spellcaster." N'Djamena shrugs. "I can't help with a stealthy attack otherwise, so I suggest charging in, once you give the signal."

Male Goblin Fighter 1 / Rogue 4

"Me likes Kelden's suggestion. N'Djamena, save your spell; me will sneak up and kill gnoll, then rest of you attack."

Assuming he gets the invisibility spell, Vrealk quietly pads behind gnoll #3 (see below), and attacks.

stealth 1d20 + 41 ⇒ (7) + 41 = 48

dagger 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (6) + 14 = 20
damage 1d3 + 2 + 2d6 ⇒ (1) + 2 + (6, 6) = 15

Vrealk's position behind gnolls (based on map):

***V
2 3
1

Markhet and Larrs will attempt a stealth kill
Stealth Larrs 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
Stealth Markhet 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (17) + 16 = 33

Moving along the side of the room to be in position to attack gnoll #2 on Vrealk's chart.

When Vrealk makes his move Larrs and Markhet charge forward:
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 261d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Markhet is attempting to aid other for Larrs:
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6 vs DC 10
Edit: possible crit!
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 231d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Kelden casts Invisibility on Vrealk from a scroll. He uses another scroll to make his bow magical (Magic Weapon) and takes aim at a gnoll.

Comp Longbow: mw +1, fav enemy +4
to hit 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 6 + 1 + 4 = 31 damage 1d8 + 2 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 1 + 4 = 11

confirm crit: mw +1, fav enemy +4
to hit 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 6 + 1 + 4 = 27 damage 2d8 + 4 + 2 + 8 ⇒ (7, 4) + 4 + 2 + 8 = 25

Booyah!

GM

while Larrs can not stealth into the open room i will allow a charge

Vrealk sneaks behind the Gnoll and puts fast stabs into it, sending it dead to the ground, before it hits the floor a ball of fur speeds across the room and arrow blooms in the throat of the third and the second is buried under Larrs Dying upon the lions teeth.

The three Gnolls are dead with almost no sound at all.

"Let's keep moving and killing."

Male Human Cleric 5

"Good -- my loud clanking wasn't needed after all. Let us proceed. After you, Vrealk."

Male Goblin Fighter 1 / Rogue 4

"'Course. Which way? Me go through the doors? Or check side rooms first?"

GM

The rooms seem clear, you do have another room inside the dome or you can bypass it and go down the stairs into the depths.

GM

Going down or checking out the room?

Male Human Cleric 5

Sorry, I thought we already decided, but I was thinking of a different game. :-)

"We should make sure all of the room up here are safe before leaving another possible enemy at our backs," N'Djamena says, gesturing towards a side room.

Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2

Ayish nods in agreement at N'Djamena's words, though she keeps quiet as she continues to look around.

Perception:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20

"What's that?" She whispers, indicating to what (If anything) she has noted.

I have internet back! (^_^) Hope every one has been well. *Bows*

"Side rooms it is."

GM

Ayish does hear something coming from the room. Which is most likely round as it in the center of the dome. She hears clattering of what is either more then one thing or something with more then four legs.

Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2

Ayish quickly gathers every one's attention with urgent hand signals, before raising four fingers and then pointing emphatically towards the door which is the parties objective.

Stealth:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13

Doing her very best to remain as quiet as possible, knowing that her skills are not as good as others of the group.

Male Goblin Fighter 1 / Rogue 4

"No, don't move, friend-Ayish. Me will look."

stealth 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (5) + 21 = 26

GM

You will have to at lest crack the doors open to look.

Vrealk step closer to the door and opens it just a tiny crack having enough time to shut it back if seen. What he seems is a massively cluttered room with fallen roof beams and such. And also a very large scorpion.

Female Gnome Paladin 5

Whilst the others searches around Celena has a look to see if there is anyway to blockade the entrance and dispose of the bodies.

GM

There is no way to block the way you came in, you can drag the body inside and stack the bodies out of sight. Do you wish to go in and deal with the scorpion or leave it in the room?

Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2

Perchance Celena could begin to drag the bodies closer to the door while we all await his report of what he sees of the sounds inside? (^_^)

Female Gnome Paladin 5

Yeah I think she could do that.

Male Goblin Fighter 1 / Rogue 4

"Me thinks we need to hide these bodies, then get rid of that nasty scorpion. We can't take chance gnolls let it after us later. And filthy vermin shouldn't be let alive ..." There's a bit of vicious gleam in the goblin's eye as he looks back to the room the scorpion is in.

Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2

Ayish blinks at vrealk's comment about a 'Scorpion',

"Um...I heard something...I wasn't sure if it was one large thing, or two small ones?" She whispers, then helps Celena move evidence.

"So, we should deal with..um..the scorpion and use the room to hide things, yes?" She asks as she helps drag.

Male Goblin Fighter 1 / Rogue 4

"That seems like good idea, friend Ayish."

Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2

Ayish gulps at friend Vrealk's words,

"Um...is it a big scorpion?" She asks, her voice showing her nervousness at the idea of a giant bug.
