The Exchange

She takes you to the library and pulls out a book entitled "Dragon Descended" and turns to an entry about Troglodytes. In it you find intimate details about them. Nothing about riddleport, but the idea of Troggs and underground tunnels makes perfect sense.

Ziyad finished his business in town and returned to find the others anxious to descend. He handed Dendarial the divine scrolls with a skeptical incline to his brow and quickly threw together a combat pack. Just before they entered the lowest level Ziyad drew a hard, ghostly barrier about himself with a green wand.

Going to try and keep myself mage armored down there. I'll have my grease wand in one hand and other hand free. The scrolls I just bought are stored securely, however unseen servant from before is quickly available. Also belted is my dagger, pearl of power, and ioun torch. :)

At the Gold Goblin, a tall dark and handsome elf enters the main public room. He's apparently come some distance or is going somewhere soon, from the looks of his pack. He is armed, but not threateningly so.

He pauses a heartbeat or two to 'appreciate' the ambience and give whoever's watching a good view of himself. Thallan Mourne has arrived.

Coming through the crowds he makes a simple sign of protection in the air. With a confident stride, he heads for the main stairs.

Crouching down over the hidden trap-door Vhalas eases one of his short swords out of its sheath. With nimble dexterous fingers he slides the door open wih one hand keeping the short sword ready to strike with the other. Ok, look sharp Vhalas.

The Exchange

As Thallan enters the Gold Goblin, he is greeted by a petite elf woman.

"Oh, I must have forgotten to lock the door. Hello S...Sir, thank you for coming, but we are closed right now. We should be back open in a few days if you come back then."

She blushes slightly but manages to keep a straight face and doesn't look away.

Just then, Kwava pops his head out from Saul's office.

"Ahh yes"

Kwava walks across the pit to receive the elf.

"Welcome... Thallan I presume?"

The Exchange

Once opened, the trap door reveals a strong wooden ladder that descends 15 feet into a cave. The unmistakable Troglodyte stench instantly intensifies as you gaze down into the pit.

A gaping pit drops away along the eastern wall of this cavern, descending twenty feet to a sloshing pool of water below. The pit’s sides are steeply sloped and slick with moss, but are also covered with many rough ledges and protrusions. A series of wooden ladders and ropes descends along these walls to a ledge below, just around the edge of the pool.

A sandy ledge sits on the verge of the tidal pool that foams with the surf of the sea. Water marks on the cavern’s irregular walls and the collection of flotsam, small shells, and mussels embedded in the sand attest to the flooding that this cave periodically receives. A tunnel exits on the pool’s opposite side.

You are now in "B2". You may begin taking actions.

Now this is interesting. Its more of a natual cavern then a man-made tunnel... Good for a smuggler though. Peering into the darkness, and into the underground pool Vhalas cautiously keeps his sword at the ready, knowing this entire area could be infested with troglodytes. With one sword he motions for the rest of the group to spread out, himself taking point.

Thallan give a curt bow. "Thallan Mourne, at your service... May I be directed to Kwava, please."

On seeing the pool, Ziyad backtracked a ways up the stairs. He needed to cast a spell and didn't want to alert whatever might be in that cavern. Dislodging a small dark crystal from the wall he quickly generated a luminous burst, cupped gently in his hand to prevent the light from spilling downstairs. With this, he searched his pack for a certain scroll and quickly completed the formulae. An invisible force sprang into existence.

Returning to the cavern he signaled to Vhalas he was going to increase the light, knowing he might like to find a place to stay in the shadows.

Ziyad handed his light stone to the unseen servant and commanded it to walk across the water to the center of the pool.

Cast light cantrip, read unseen servant scroll. I know we're stealthy but felt like we needed light. Feel free to stop me before completing if you have something else in mind.

Not sure, but lowlight and darkvision for all should be enough to overcome?

Female Elf Inquisitor (Infiltrator) 4

Wasp hangs back behind Vhalas, Ziyad and Dendarial as the group heads into the tunnel.

"A girl could get used to having a trio of strong men surrounding her when she goes into danger." She gives them a wink, taking up the rear.

As they enter the cavern, her face settles on a wary expression, and she, too becomes alert for danger.

Do we find anything?

*kills all troglodytes, solves all mysteries*
