Your right Ziyad, it was a fantastic combo, and if I had not been away due to internet, It would have worked even better since, Drider *no offence* dident do the whole, sneak, move attack, combo. It was very effect and I would love to see it used again.

About our grand entrance to town, one thought that occurred to me was that we don't have to enter all together, as a pack of 4 elves as V put it. We could use the message cantrip and spread out, keeping united communication through whispers. It would need to be refreshed every 20 minutes but it has a range of 120 feet at my caster level.
Could backfire of course when s*** hit the fan. But consider: I could take an elevated position and coordinate the message stuff going on and general perception. Den could take a different elevated position 100 ft away from me that can still see the gambling hall. I can see Wasp being the big flashy diversion on the front line, with Vhalas at a hidden flank. Talia could then be at a central position ready to quickly adjust to whatever happens. It would be cool if nothing else.
Ziyad |
Vhalas' idea sounds good to me, doesn't require any real effort to pull off. Ziyad doesn't really have the bluff skill to knock it to the next level, but no one should really have reason to doubt us. Unless Windbraid betrayed us in which case its barbarian armageddon.
But I still wish someone would roll local on our contact or the establishment so wed have more info about it.

I thought we might want to discuss ideas for the mission here. After readying # 31 Den is going to try to purchase a silver kukri and to replace his cold iron one.
The Boneyard was not what I was thinking. Not much cover there. Looks like no trees to hide in/shoot from. I say we go check out the area during the day to understand water depth and such. It would be good to know where we can walk as difficult terrain and where we would be swimming, or even stuck in quick sand. I guess there is some risk being seen out there by our query, but I think its worth it and the sooner we get out there the less risk.

Well reading the description he posted in the campaign info it seems to me to be a ship graveyard. We could perhaps use a broken down ship, or imitate one, for cover and observation. But those barracudas sound like bad news...
If we could get a scroll of Silent Image or if Talia has it maybe just make some ship wreckage as concealment, the illusion can be maintained indefinitely.
With my carpentry skills I might be able to pull off a simple one man raft with some cover/concealment that looks like debris.
Now that I think about it, that's probably how they are smuggling their stuff.
One of us could try and infiltrate their organization as a double agent to get more info.
A scroll of Clairaudience would really be helpful, but its third level. It would basically be like a microphone we could place right in the middle of them from 400+ feet away.
That's all assuming we don't just want to beat the s$@& out of them, as ordered. I'll think more along the slaying lines later.

Another thing we could do is summon a water creature and cast speak with animals and have it scout for quicksand. I could cast the summon but we would need a scroll I think. I don't think just because a creature is celestial that it speaks celestial, but maybe I'm wrong.
Or perhaps I could just use an unseen servant and go around sticking a probe. The unseen servant walks on water but could hold a long stick. Then we would just watch how far the stick goes as the invisible thing scans around. Or maybe we could think of some way it can identify quicksand more certainly, like a scoop. That might be a good idea, that spell lasts forever.
Then we could use the quicksand locations offensively.

Hey guys, good news.
I went to the Dentist today and guess what? That's right. NO cavities. 5 years and going strong.
On a more related note, keep up the great work guys! I'm really enjoying the dynamics of the RP and the activity level. If any of you have any concerns, feel free to PM me, and I'll work with you.

Hey, if we're going for a capture, we should maybe think about some gear and magic to facilitate that. Like manacles, ropes, hold person, etc. There's non-lethal damage of course, but no guarantees she'll be melee-able. And if she is indeed Drow, magic might not be the way to go.
A detect thoughts wand however with ~3 charges might be good if torture fails, the spell ignores spell resistance. I'd be willing to pay for it if someone can help me find a magic vendor.
Also Wasp I'm not sure but you can use scrolls on your class list without UMD, right? I could scribe you a disguise self scroll which you could use to disguise yourself as a Drow next time you attempt to gather information.

I hope Talia is not gone. But if she is, would you like a recommendation for a replacement? I know a few good players.
It amazes me how often people drop from these games, considering how much work it is to apply. I guess life happens.
The Killer Wasp |
@Ziyad: All good suggestions. As it happens, I have rope for just such a purpose. :) I may also not have detect thoughts - but I have a number of skills and spells useful in interrogation.
@Den: I think there's already a shortlist of backups.
@All: Just FYI, I haven't posted as much lately due to what is basically an ongoing family emergency. I'm still in - just can't contribute as much at the moment.

Deep water is the darker spots, per a previous post. I am good with silver arrows and kukri, as Vhalas points out. I have arrows enough to share a few. And I like my range. :)
As far as the wait goes, I am still expecting miss white haired elf to show.
Dendarial the Ken Hunter |
I think Den would have been happy to sit back and watch the entire event play out, but something unusual is up for sure. Regardless, combat has been initiated. Lets take them out.
I hope its obvious that the wererat to the right is not in the entangle and would be a great grease target.
DM Drider |
Hey guys, swamped with school for the summer semester, so I've been a little less proactive with facilitating fluidity. We'll go ahead and skip Wasp for the surprise unless she cranks out her turn before I post initiatives for combat later this afternoon/evening.
@Ziyad Yes there are precisely the amount of wererats that you see currently on the map.
Dendarial the Ken Hunter |
Den has no effective way to fight a swarm. I hope the entangle will grab them IF they come after him. I have no idea how they summoned or attracted it. Was it a spell or bait of some kind? is there an invisible summoner?
