I've been meaning to use this avatar for a while. It's perfect to capture Ulthar's normal beardedness.

"Ok, that's a good batch of talent we can use. "

"So, what is your relationship to each other? also what is your relationship to Gadak?"

Gadak is the guy who gave you a ride here from the portal in case you don't recall his name. I include this because I have CRS and sympathize.

"Like I said ... we almost trust each other, and we know each other's skills so we work well as a team."

"Gadak just gave us a ride."

"Yeah we know each other well enough to get along. Gadak gave us a lift and got us in front of you, so he's good with me." Marckus shrugged, because he does that a lot.

"Good, I'd hate to think he's recruiting his own henchmen. "

"Would you kill Gadak if I asked you to?"

and Gadak, who is there at the table blanches at this with wide eyes, though he stands motionless.

"Sure."

Verily, I would slash any drows throat if need be.

Unless the drow had two scimitars and an edgy alter ego to show Ulthar not all drow are bad, just the NPCs.

Marckus nods cooperatively. "I mean, if we're part of your house, that would be our duty, right?"

"Yes. Very good. A commendable attitude. I think we have a place for you here. Always good to remember that nobody is indispensable. "

"Gadak, take them to their new quarters. "

And he leads you through the building to the servant's area. Your group is assigned a room to yourselves which is rather spartan with six bunks and some foot lockers for storage. That's it. The privvy is down the hall. The other drow in the area, all servants of course, look daggers at you.

To Gadak:

"I wouldn't have killed you .... I'd have just turned you into a dung slug."

"Trash-Panda loves dung slugs....."

"So can we order around the servants? Do we get paid? I'm not sure I followed all the negotiations."

Gadak ignores Rags, but responds to Marckus "You are servants as well, so you can order them around, but likely they will only listen if they have a reason to. "

"Or if I turn the first one that mouths off into a dung slug."

"Hmm, I guess that would command some respect now that you mention it. Well I'll be running along before you decide to make me into a slug. No doubt someone will be along to assign you some duties. " and he departs.

OK, now the module descends into tedium as you work you way up the servant hierarchy. Boring.

OK, Ulthar notices Gadak trying to sneak into your room. He's trying to be sneaky about it.

Marckus sits up begrudgingly and rubs the giving-a-darn from his eyes, stretching while he replies to the annoyingly enthusiastic/ticked off Dronug. "I think Ulthar caught a bad liar sneaking into our room." He yawns and slumps down into a lazy sitting position.

The drow servant is looking very nervous and looking around for space to run.

"I'd like to confess Gadak. That were it anyone else in this house sneaking in here, I'd have killed them already. But you have done well by us. So you may have a chance to explain truly why you are here before I show you who the most terrifying man in this house is. And no, you cannot outrun me." Something in Drothars back convulses as he speaks

Sir Wiggly Aid: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17

Sileth blocks the door or whatever route of escape he can see grabs a bag of popcorn and eagerly awaits the result of this intimidation-fest. Whoever makes Gadak soil himself will be declared winner!

When Marckus hears Drothar speak of "the most terrifying man in this house", he naturally puffs up his chest and smiles at the recognition... until he realizes he's talking about himself. He stands up to correct him but suddenly realizes that this guy with the tumor is actually pretty scary indeed.

Marckus scowls outwardly, but inwardly he feels a swell of pride as his drowness reaches new heights.

"Umm, uh, Undamesta. That's who I owe. Don't talk to her, she'll get extra mad. I borrowed money to gamble in town and lost. "

While it seems to be common practice in Pathfinder to assume that skills have magical effects, they do not. Just because someone is scared to the point of empty bladder doesn't mean they tell the truth. Nobody has even tried sense motive, so you have no idea if he's truthful or not.

Did you just verbally diminish the value of skill checks and then tell us to roll a skill check?
I was pretty sure he was lying about the trog. But if he wasn't, that would actually be pretty funny.

Sense Motive (short on coin, etc): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
Sense Motive (owes Undamestra, etc): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13

If he's currently "shaken", which seems appropriate, he'll get -2 to bluff.
