Ulthar the Warped One |
Because contrary to imaginary and silly artwork, axes actually used in combat are not all that heavy, and hence not all that good for smashing. If you want to chop a hole in the door, it will be well suited to the task. If you want to apply enough force the knock out the lock or hinges the tool you want is a ram. I suppose an earthbreaker would work as well since that's a rather silly sledge like weapon.
How about you either just attack the door with the axe or roll to smash it instead of arguing?
It is an attempt to smash the door. I'm just asking if the magic, physics defying weapon wielded by the magic dude with super strength might provide a minor benefit. I mean, I have a serious question: What is your exact definition of "beer and pretzles game"? Mine was always "casual game".
Edit: I'll also accept the ram option if it means we can stop arguing about a door.
Ulthar the Warped One |
If no one does it before him, Ulthar will handle the door delicately.
[Dice=Smash door]1d20 + 6 Can I add his weapon enhancement bonus to that? I mean, it's an axe.
Total was 22.

Is that a table, or a really wide bookshelf between #12 and us?
"Steel skulls and steel blades, we are here to wreck face!"
Marckus |
Inside are six drow armed with rapiers.
Rapier? Rapier than what?
Initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
I think you already rolled for this combat, big guy. It's the new drow that needed to roll. But I think you got a 21 last time, so meh.
I got a 3 so I'm waiting for them to go I guess.Rags McRory |

He could just be using seize the initiative, as per Jeans suggestions. It didn't work this time, but still.
Emmisary, tell him I'm right so we look good.

Jean takes the 30' increase from Blessing of Fervor, and tries to Tumble between all the drow.
"Besmara!!!"
Acrobatics Check: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (17) + 12 = 29
He attacks it from the back, flanking with the Kronug. If it is too late for that and #11 has gone to Kronug's hell, the will attack #8.

I hope it is against Flat Footed AC.
drbuzzard |
That will hit. It will drop him with Kronug's damage on top of yours (and he forgot sneak attack).
The Drow gang up on Jean since he did just off their buddy.

Oh. Yes.
Marckus rushes into the room and vaults onto the table, sliding along his back across it and landing behind the drow.
"Ha-HA!"
He brings his fist down upon the drow numbered "10" with all the confidence of someone who just pulled off a sick stunt.

What a bunch of crap... if by any chance #12 drops with only one or two, I'll five foot step towards Jean and continue the kronuging on #10 but substract +2 due flanking and sneak attack damage
Jean David Nau |
Image Attacked? (Jean 1): 1d2 ⇒ 1
He gets hit. 18 damage, getting his 7 temporary HP first. And 2 less damage with Deadly Juggernaut.
Deadly Juggernaut: +1 luck bonus on melee attack rolls, melee weapon damage rolls, Strength checks, and Strength-based skill checks as well as DR 2/— each time you reduce a qualifying opponent to 0 or few hit points.
He attacks #10 first, flanking, with the extra attack from Divine Power, and takes +2 to attacks, dodge and reflex from Blessing of fervor.
If it drops he will continue with #8.

Ulthar makes his way into the room, striking whichever enemy has the best combination of alive, and closeness. First 12, unless they're dead, then 10, unless they're dead, etc... Also, I believe I've adjusted my attack math to be correct.
Fervor boosted Attack: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (2) + 16 = 18
Chop: 1d10 + 18 ⇒ (6) + 18 = 24
AC still 22 this round after Rage and Fervor.
drbuzzard |
Marckus jumps up and slides across the table wondering why it has the Stars and Bars on it, but nevermind.
He gets into place to sock a Drow in flank, and does so brutally in fact.
Kronug also lashes out at a flanked drow, but only hits once.
10 tries to parry one of Jean's strikes
1d20 ⇒ 8 fail, and he goes down under the flurry of well placed strikes (first one finishes him, but the other attacks lack flanking (so you should probably separate damage out on targets which might end up not flanked so you don't rile you GM who now has to decode all that crap and pick out numbers). 8 remains up
1d20 ⇒ 11 fail to parry
Ulthar then goes all Gumby and tries to killsteal Kronug's target, but misses.
Jean David Nau |
So #10 dropped? I still see him on the map. I think it did, so Jean gains another +1 with Deadly Juggernaut.
Our turn?
Rags McRory |
Rags flies straight up to see if he can tell what the drow are up to in the stink cloud.

Have any drow descended from the top of the tower?
Rags McRory |
I'm not sure I know what you mean. Are you inside the tower or outside?
Outside, I want to see if they are still hacking and coughing in there or if they levitated above it.
Sileth |
just checked the map.....doesn't look like Sileth can reach the rubble hole with rags so he will move to the busted in door and cast Haste on the group
ps...I tried to move my icon but couldn't
Rags McRory |
That's why I'm listening, not looking, and flying up to see if anyone is above it.
It seems unlikely that they would hang out in there making Fort saves every round for the spell's duration.
It should last for another 4 rounds I think.
drbuzzard |
#12 drops. 8 gets poked a couple of times (by Jean).

As Jean last mirror image disappears he uses his Sudden Shift ability to appear behind the Drow, so the others can flank.
Waiting for the others to flank to make his attacks.
Marckus |
Marckus, high off of being useful for the first time in 7 levels, joyfully dodges #9's strike and attacks back, flanking with that other guy.
I just noticed I have Exploit Weakness. If this check beats his CR+10,
I get +2 to attacks for 1 round & bypass DR.

I think I killed him.
If 9 drops, switch my attacks to 8 with -2 and no sneak (for loss of flanking) and don't add the +2 for Exploit Weakness.
