" Alright, then the more you cast those spells, the more you will have that face right? So that means if I get hurt you can cast those spells more. Lilica sees good at hurting people.. I am very sturdy though. " Volk seems sincere his face unchanging, constantly inquisitive of Strigala's an other's nature. He goes over to Nicar , about-facing from Strigala and looks down at the man. " What do we do with him.. besides strip him naked? I remember the little dragon liked eyes.. maybe we can take eyes from them? "

Strigala shakes her head.

"Try not to get hurt, please? The reason I react that way to positive energy... it isn't a good thing. At all. You'd rather it be for a good reason."

She continues to search for the stick, though she indicates the note that was meant for Saul, then the dead body. "We send a message back to this guy's employers. One they won't forget. I have just the message..."

Volk quirks his head to the side once more, " A good reason? Like what? I will try not to get hurt but your face is a good thing. I like it so the reaction must be good. Also I suggest the message be 'Attack us and you'll only be wasting money' people seem to like money alot here. "

Why send a message. We slaughtered them. Nothing needs saying. we are wasting time.
Nel looks around and fidgets, obviously impatient.

To Saul:
Im not a fan of the pronoun game is all. Say it straight or else im led to assume things.

Ternock heads out the door. Devils are childsplay to own compared to dragons. If you can truly "own" one.

He grunts to himself as he begins to fly down the hall. That steak will be a god sent blessing compared to this spoiled brat.

After grabbing the steak stealthly from Laurer, (must have been bewildering for it come up missing suddenly) Ternock heads downstairs to Bojask while eating the steak. When he sees him he will announce his presence.

Hey Bojask! We met last night. My name is Ternock. Saul has just hired me and wishes to test my talents in fighting. I only ask one thing, can I kill the beasts that I will fight or would you prefer they be left alive?

Volk looks to Nel then to Strigala and then to Kertria and Lilica. " Shade is right though, we should leave soon, making more bodies would make the street filled with decomposing bodies. Then someone will have to clean it up eventually.... Now that I think about it.. where is the bank? "

Bojask grunts at Ternock when he makes his appearance. Then responds to his question, "Usually. But Saul wants to put you up against Tusker, and he's the champ, he isn't going to die unless it for a crowd of people."

"He's already out there now. " says Bojask pointing to a door with a latch on it.

"Whenever you're ready I'll let you out to meet him. "

Strigala shrugs and decides against the note. She then follows the rest to the bank.

As the party gathers up their things to leave, ROCKS!

The party all takes 1 pt nonlethal damage.

Suddenly thousands of rocks begin falling from the sky directly over Riddleport. The cascade lasts only a few seconds, in the aftermath the streets are covered in tiny black pock marked rocks. Picking one up you find, strangely, that they're surprisingly soft and squishy like a marshmallow. After less than a minute, any trace of the bizarre hailstorm is gone as the rocks all simply vanish into thin air.

Getting to the bank and handing the teller the bag of gold and saying your order the teller looks over all the armed and blood-soaked party and begins to sweat.

"You uhhhh Saul's new biters yeah? Yeah.. I had heard about you all.."

The teller rips off a piece of paper and begins to scrawl quickly on it, his hand moving erratically as it shakes.

"There we go" he says handing Volk the parchment, "You give that to Saul."

"And uhhhh you tell him, tell him we're very sorry about the miscommunication."

Looking at the slip the clerk gave you, it is a receipt for 800 silver and 2000 copper, but another 400 gold seems to have made its way onto the sheet as well.

Volk will place a blood soaked hand on top of the Teller to calm him and with his signature creepy smile that Kertria says was enduring, nods. " Don't worry I promise there will be no miscommunications. The smile staying for a whole minute... before Volk remembers to stop. He turns around, looks at the party and shrugs. "Umm... Volk... There are more coins here than Saul said." Seeing his smile, though, she assumes she must have just misheard.

"Yeah. Loot. We should sell it. We could get a few extra gold and all. I'll be looking to get a whetstone soon enough and all."

If you are happy, Miss Strigala is happy, Miss Lilica is Happy, Shade is happy.. then I will be happy. " Volk looks back with his bored expression.

The party's trip back to the Gold Goblin is uneventful outside of small congregations of people in the streets discussing the strange hailstorm.

Arriving back at the Gold Goblin you can see a few new hires are already busying themselves with cleaning as the Gold Goblin is almost time to open for the day.

Volk picks off some of the marshmallow rocks that seemed to stick to his head in his hair. He places one in his mouth and starts chewing, thinking it might taste as it felt. As he looks around he notes the new employees and smiles. He awkwardly asks them where they can find Saul as they had the letter from the Bank as well as the letters from some 'Biters'. The whole time he wondered what his job would be and more importantly when he will get paid to stare at Lilica and be nice to Strigala.

The rock Volk eats tastes terrible, and sends a shiver across his body.

Saul takes the three notes from Volk and looks over them smiling. "Well done you lot, hopefully this will get the Crime Lords off my back for a few days. It's interesting to know Clegg Zlincher is spear heading the offensive against me. Though it makes sense, after my fall from power, the other Crime Lords decided to break up handling money in Riddleport."

"Padomae took drugs, Croat took protection, Clegg took over Gambling, and the Overlord took over the bank."

"With me running the Gold Goblin now I'm impeding on Clegg's business. It's good we can put a face to our enemy now."

"As for the bank, they've been squeezing me for a while, refusing to send me the money that I've been requesting. I even had to take out a loan from Lymas Smeed in the meantime we were so strapped for cash."

"I assume you lifted the valuables off your attackers? They're yours of course. In addition when the bank comes around later today and drops off to me what they owe, you're all free to take 100 gold and split it amongst yourselves."

"Now, the Goblin will be opening up soon. If you're not sure what to do go see Laurer. I'll be walking the floor if you all happen to need me.

What did the party decide to do with Nicar Rhodes? Did ya kill him? Leave him there unconscious? Drag him around back to Saul's? Etc.

At the parties return, Ternock will head along the rafters. Once in range Ternock will speak telepathically with the Volk.

Mr. Whippets, glad to see your in one piece. I have talked with Saul and I am now a employee here at the Golden Goblin. Though, Saul himself seems act differently with me then with you lot.

He got annoyed at me twice while I talked with him. Simply because I said I was a dragon and from him not being clear with what he ment. So I lashed out at what he said because he wanted me to go down to the fighting pits with Bojask. I belived he was trying to trick me and take me as some trophy. He then summoned a small winged creature next to him with the snap of his fingers and threatened me by saying,

"You're talking to a man who owns Devils, "dragon" If I wanted to own one of your kind I'd go and get the real thing."

He acts like a spoiled child if he doesnt get what he wants, this wouldn't be that bad if not for the fact he can back up his threats. Though I doubt he could "own" a dragon, thats just hot air.

Ternock then sniffs the air and smiles his toothy smile.

You smell of blood Mr. Whippets... Saul said thier would be five to six men you would fight on your way to the bank.

Volk would look out at Ternock and shrug

If he said that and then backed it up it would mean he is not lying.. No? The Boss seems somewhat important, just not really important. Other big bosses seemed to want him dead as well as us. They suck at their job though. We killed them really fast.. except one. Oh, I almost forgot,y ou like eyeballs right "

Volk place a bag slightly in the air blood seemed to drip from it.

Ternock looks with glee as Volk holds up the bag. He makes his way down on Volks shoulder.

This one is definetly useful. He thinks to himself as he eats 3 eyeballs.

Ternock bites into the last one with such force some of the juice from inside the eye squirts out onto Volks face.

He licks the blood from his lips
Mmm, sorry about that, that last one was extra juicy!

Im also a fan of any part of the body of any creature really, I just dont eat to much at a time, don't want to get over filled of course.

When Ternock sits on his shoulder he notices a faint flame lick his skin for the barest of moments before phasing out. In an even more weird case the blood from the eyeball doesn't quite touch Volk's skin. The more odd issue is Volk himself doesn't seem to notice.. or care. His head turns to the little dragon in wonderment.

Is it normal for you kind to eat other beings.. Well one of your size? I have heard of particularly large ones of the Rd variety doing so but for you it seemed eyes were a favorite. And they were dead, so I assumed they would not need theirs. they were intelligent, is this not considered.. cannibalism? Either way, what job did the Boss assign you or are you waiting for assignment as well? The place lost most of its members already.

Im just special in that way I guess. I just feel like it makes me stronger every time I eat things that are stronger. Now that Ive aquired a taste for it, well, why stop right?

Do you remember what I said yesterday? "When you die you are nothing but and object... meat if you will. To be prepared and eaten by the ones who survive." Well I take that to the literal side of things.

Saul said I can count myself as one of you guys, the group that was sent to the bank. Ill be preforming tasks with you.

I was sent down to the fighting pits to test myself in fighting... but he put me up against his champion beast, its a large boar named Tusker. I managed to get a good hit in, but it fought through my attack and... well... I woke up a few seconds later. Tusker isn't the champ for nothing i suppose.

Ternock looks down at the floor meekly.

Volk stared his eyes boring into Ternock as he speaks with his mind.

I was just making sure you knew. It might just be different for dragons I guess. If a person ate another, it would likely be seen as evil.. like those Hyenamen and Lizardmen. As far as Saul goes, I guess that would put you under my protection a well as with all of the workers here. I like the sound of that. Protection. Anyway It must be embarrassing to claim yourself a dragon but lose to an animal. At least what looks like an animal. You must have fought it alone or close up..I would have stabbed it to death. It's not your fault though, you just arent strong enough, simple as that. Or maybe what you eat is the wrong type of strength.

Volk blinked absentmindedly and looks around at the Gold Goblin and his fellow 'Biters'

I think I might be able to be a Dealer here, as I got the card game down, but I am not sure what you shall do. Perhaps Hide and watch for cheaters? Contact the security through mindlink? So the person does not know until too late?

Ternock looks at Volk with the same expression

Problem was I wasn't allowed to kill it. If it would die, it would die for a crowd of people is what i was told. So that and it already being a hardened combatant. Kinda put the odds against me wouldn't you say?

Ternock looks around the hall.

I was planning on hiding in the rafters and looking for cheaters as you have said. Ill let one of the employees know if I spot one in the way you have mentioned.

Just before the Golden Goblin opens for buisness, Ternock flies up into the rafters stealths and watches for cheaters.

Still waiting on a bit more consensus on Nicar Rhodes fate. Anyone who wishes to speak with Saul or Laurer may do so but since no one is pushing the story I am going to.

I need a skill check from everyone when they post next. If you're going to watch for cheaters give me perception, run a table then give me profession gambling, if you're going to be a hostess or bartender then Diplomacy.

The night begins fairly uneventful until the weekly beast fights begin. A few small fights between wolves and a giant spider, followed by a badger Vs a nasty pair of foxes, and finally Tusker defends his reign against a lion.

As Bojask ushers Tusker back into his cage after the fight, suddenly a man leaps over the railing into the pit.

Drawing a scimitar as he charges he almost makes it to Bojask before falling dead, cut in two.

6d20 ⇒ (5, 12, 7, 16, 7, 5) = 52

Watching the man die, you have no idea what killed him.

Right at the same time four more people in the crowd begin to draw armaments. Two don't even have enough time to finish doing so as Lilica takes one from behind with her spiked chain, snapping his neck in an instant.

While Strigala plants her Morningstar directly into the face of another.

Another seeing Kertria approaching him swings at her with his blade, but she grabs it an arcs electricity down its blade back to attacker, frying him.

The last in a panic begins to run only to be tripped by Nel as Volk spears him through the back with a lance of energy.

The would be attack is over in a matter of three or four seconds. Most people hadn't even had time to register a scream or begin to panic.

As people become more aware of the dead now among their ranks, Saul calls out to the crowd.

"Ladies and Gentlemen I would like to introduce to you the new co-owners of the Gold Goblin. If anyone had any concerns as to the safety of the hall, please let them be at ease after their display."

"In addition however, I would like to make the announcement that after tonight, the Gold Goblin will be a weapons free establishment for our patrons. In the future please check in all instruments at the front desk."

"And of course, anyone foolhardy enough to try to smuggle them in, are free to deal with our capable security. Enjoy the rest of your night, a round of drinks for everyone I think."

There is a round of applause as Saul declares the Gold Goblin weapons free that becomes cheering as he announces the free drinks.

Winking to the party Saul moves back to the bar and pours himself a glass of wine.

It was his first night being a dealer, and Volk was in no way confident. After showing Laurer the skills he had, the Dwarf suddenly decided he would be great for a table. He had learned the card games exceedingly fast and had expert ability at hiding, moving and placing items. Above all else he was fair and had not a lying bone in his body. The Clothing took some getting used to. At least he would be able to see Strigala and the rest around the time so it would be enjoyable. Eery so often Volk spoke to Ternock above keeping himself entertained as his body did most of the work for him.

" Er, Welcome to the Gold Goblin. I am your Dealer for the night, Volk Tulmere. Lets hope I don't make you all have to leave without clothes. " He had thought to use his abilities to perhaps make a scene.. but that would have to wait. His ideas were not fully thought out. Ofcourse he kept an eye on the table and any near but overall he took it easy. Tonight was the night to gauge his ability.

Ternock watches the pit fight that night in hopes of watching the porky bastard fall. it was up against a lion. So it should be a good fight. Alas it was over very quick for the lion. Tusker disemboweled the lion after the lion pounced on top of it. Just after the fight, an assailant jumped into the pit and more surfaced in the crowd. Though they were fools. Ternock got a front seat view of the carnage that unfolded on the assailants and their pitiful attempt at a attack.

After the fight, Ternock would make his way to the dead body of the lion that was cast aside. Hmm this will be a change of pace won't it? He thinks to himself as he eats part of the lions backstrap. Getting his fill he decides to turn in for the night.

A part of Lilica found it intensely amusing that Clegg Zincher was the one that had put Rhodes up to attacking her and the others. It was like divine providence was setting up both of the targets of her revenge in positions where they would have to take an interest in her. All it would take was a little bit of time to work into one of their graces....

Speaking of working, she had a job to do. And so she eventually exited her room and onto the gambling floor.

The "fight" will be accompanied by Lilica making a Sense Motive test on the attackers. After all, she can't see what they're trying to accomplish this time, unlike the other opportunities that the robbers have taken. So maybe she'll get a hunch.
