Nadine approaches the Draugr and smiles. She reaches up to check the deep wound he has, and then pats him on the cheek. "Good boy, now follow us and pay attention. Likely there will be more for you to kill."

She turns back to the group, humming absentmindedly. "Well, where to next?"

A closer look around the room and into the remaining caskets reveals 4 dead sailors, who intent to stay dead. Next to the door on the western wall hangs a key on an iron peg. Burned into the door are the words: Serve thy master well and be rewarded." A closer examination of the door concludes that this heavy oaken door is reinforced with iron and a good lock keeps it securely closed.

Male Human

Taking the key, Thomas examines the lock to make sure it and the door are not trapped.

Perception vs Traps: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19

Making a small metal on metal noise as Thomas slides the key of the peg, the rogue soon finds himself key in hand ready to examine the door and lock, nothing seems to be trapped.

Male Human

Finding nothing threatening, the Rogue put his ear to the door and listened carefully.

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19

Something is moving, You can hear metal on metal and metal on stone. No other sounds escape the through the hard wood.

Male Human

Turning towards the others, Thomas whispers, "There's something moving on the other side of this door. I'm not what, but I hear metal grinding on metal and stone."

Standing back 10' from the door Stanislav says Everyone ready themselves. Thomas, open it.

I thought there were two doors on the western wall….

No only one in the centre of the 30 ft. wall, there is one behind you in the eastern wall and the secret one you entered through in the northern wall.

Male Human

Thomas put the key in the lock and slowly turned it, so as to make as little noise as possible. Holding the handle, he gave one last look at his companions, then openned the door.

The key turns effortlessly in the well oiled lock and greased hinges aid the heavy door as Thomas opens it. Standing inside a well lit cell a knight in dull armour demands to know "Who are you?" He is of average, with long black hair and a well kept beard. His brown eyes stares defiantly at you as he make his demand. His is clad in a full plate of high quality, but battle worn. His talbard is Taligarde blue and the coat of arms of this dreaded nation is woven into the centre of it. He stands sword drawn, shield raised awaiting your response.

Knowledge (Local or Nobility) DC 15:

He is Sir Balin, a knight of the Alerion order, the most famous hunter of Asmodean followers in the land.

Recognizing who this must be Stanislav chooses to be direct with the man. I am Captain Stanislav Greymist sir knight. My friends and I are on a quest to find a certain pendant. If you will sheath that weapon we can talk further of our mission. Stanislav does not lower his weapon.

Female Human Gravewalker Witch 4 (HP: 28/21 | F+1, R+2, W+4 | AC 10/10/10 | Init: +2; Per: +1, SM: +1)

Nadine backs away from the doorway, trying to hide her hatred of the man, known as a Witch Hunter. She clutches her spell poppet tightly.

I forgot to tell you he has a pendant around his neck. A blue star shaped stone set in a blank metal possible silver.

Two questions. Does anyone wear a symbol of Asmodeus openly and did he capture anyone of you earlier?

Vank certainly doesn’t as he doesn't yet worship him.

Given my parents were followers of Asmodeus, I would wear it. But under my shirt. Answer to the second quetion, I doubt it. I'm a murderer with no supernatural ability.

No holy symbol, but if he's a famed witch hunter, then Sir Balin might have been involved in Nadine's capture. However, currently she appears as a coppery-skinned woman with auburn hair and tattoos on her left arm.

"Which pendant?" he inquires before yelling: "Take care one of the living dead is behind you." He has noticed Nadine's new pet.

Seeing the pendant Stanislav responds I believe it is the one you wear. Where did you obtain it? And when he points out the undead Stanislav further explains. Ah yes. We have subdued it and have put down its brothers to get to you.

This is good Stanislav, I know there is no lies in what you say. I need something to indicated how well you hide your intentions, something to oppose a sense motive.

What do you propose. He is not really bluffing either. He does need the pendent and unlike Nadine has no reason to hate the man. If it were in his power he might trade the pendant of this life, thinking it a fine joke on the Cardinal :)

I did not mean to bog things down. I can give you a bluff check if you like, but I think that is premature at the moment. It may just be a round or two of conversation away though.

I'll let it play out a little more, a bluff might be needed later on.

Most preoccupied with the undead Sir Balin bursts out: "You strike that foul abomination down, when you have the chance." ignoring your question of his pendant for the moment.

Aye, I could strike it down sir knight, and even though it is subdued Iwill do so, for that pendant you wear. Stanislav responds quickly.

"Good Sir Balin. Perhaps if you were to sheathe your weapon we could speak as civilized men of the realm? That would truly be of great comfort to our lady and especially to myself, her humble servant. I would truly hate for a misunderstanding to occur now, just as we released you from such bondage."

Robert makes no sudden moves, but slowly positions himself between the knight and Nadine.

"As to the abomination over my shoulder, I am sure you are cognizant of the possibility of redemption? It is one of the tenets of the faith, is it not? Why is it so strange to believe one of the accursed could be swayed to defend the living against its undying brethren? Have not stranger things happened, good Sir Knight?"

Several of our band have succumbed to wounds, although minor, which may prove troublesome in such environs."

"No," Sir Balin flatly refuses your kind offer. "Save us all and slay the Undead."

Nadine draws her dagger and quickly turns to the zombie. She slices through its neck, severing the head from the body. She tosses the head at Sir Balin's feet. "There. Now drop your sword unless you mean to use it on us."

Since the undead is under my control, I figure I can CDG it. That should finish off what Stanislav started.

Vank moves through the door and looks around the room beyond, although not dirrectly theatening the knight his actions are suspecious at best.

Robert I seem to have missed your post, I'll reply to it and Nadine's below.

"No footman, there is no redemption for the Undead save release from their unnatural toil." Taking the bait that Robert offers and swallowing hook, line and sinker, he lowers his blade but does sheath it. "Who has sent you? I must see your credentials?" he demands. Nadine's demand fares far worse. "I will not," he denies and counters: "If you truely come in peace, lower yours." When Vank moves into the room he takes a step back raising shield and weapon again. "What is this?" he asks.

Nice Vank, can you find some way to get and additional +1? His flat-footed AC is 21.
