I hear ya - I am thinking of trying to stealth my way across.

Yeah, I don't have any AoE either, so I'm not too useful here. stealth to get in, then just run out and we close the door. I'm assuming these bats arn't raptor smart :p

If you want to, it's not that huge a deal to me, but I think we have to find the item if it is to be purchased later. That being said, I have no intention of fighting a swarm, so I will be standing by with readied actions to slam that door if you awaken the swarm. After you get through, that is.

Congrats, you seem to have invented herding for D&D, I always figured pulling was safer, but hey, herding a map is certainly the fast way to (win or die, depending).

It just seems that I'm used to a different play style. I'm going to try not to disrupt the game, but I find it odd that everyone seems to be unfamiliar with talking things out or not fighting everything. Is that true?

I've personally played and enjoy both, but the natural reaction of the denizens of the fortress has been to kill the intruders and ask questions later. Quartes isn't necessarily battle-hungry, but he also would consider things like trogs, and certainly skeletons, as unworthy of his consideration as anything more than an enemy. They've proven it true thus far...guess we'll see if we're making an error when we get to their boss...sure hope it's not a priest of Iomedae who had convinced the trogs to rid the place of the skeletons...

I believe that a healthy combination of both types of play is necessary. We ARE adventurers. Let's just not swing too far the other direction, Beckett. there is certainly a time and a place for both styles.

Damn you, dice! Thrice-damned, if you will.

Just for the record, I am tapped out of all healing now.

Sorry all...think I jumped out of order and messed us up

And...darn

My next action should be the hit I already rolled, unless I somehow got mixed up. Please let me know if I'm in error.

Yup... you're good.

I'm not going to make you re-roll something that actually hit. This is insanity.

Unbelievable!

Woops... forgot half-orcs can stay up for a turn after they go below 0 hp. Didn't really change anything except that Jareth, not Balenar, is flanking the croc with Beckett, since Balenar couldn't move there yet.

As we finish up...

Who would like a chronicle sheet? As mentioned before we started, it awards 1 XP and no prestige. :-/

Also, if anyone knows a good way to get them to you guys let me know. I think I saw a suggestion somewhere to scan them and email them to players for PFS PbPs.

Silver Crusade

Dwarf Monk (Zen Archer) 1

For the pbp first steps I'm running, after I reported the results for part 1, I saved a new pdf of just the chronicle sheet page, and then edited it in FoxIt reader to fill in all of the GM bits, and saved a copy with each player's name / ID #, then put them all up in a web accessible folder for folks to download. But I just have my name printed on the sheet, no scanned signature. Given that I reported the game, I don't think it should be an issue.

But I'm going to have to update all of those after part 3 to reflect the increased prestige.

If you can skip reporting specific ID's I'll be happy not taking a chronicle for this. If you're reporting all of the IDs that took part, I'll need a chronicle.

Is the castle essentially cleared or is it worth the time to go back and open doors we missed?

I'm amenable to whatever the consensus decides

Scan and Pdf works for me.

Nah - you got everything on the chronicle sheet. You only missed a couple things but nothing that affects the end result. You found all the items on the sheet and the gold reward is a set total.

I should be able to report it without Noran's character ID. I'll fill out the chronicle sheets tonight!

Yes - great job DM Sean! Looking forward to moving on. I hope that you would consider running another PbP PFS?

Ok - I sent a PM to everyone who wanted a chronicle sheet with a link to it on my Google Docs. I also e-mailed Beckett and Filios with copies.

Go ahead and fill out your starting & total gold and list any items on the list you want to buy.

GP Gained: 479

Items Found During This Scenario
Cloak of resistance +1 (1,000 gp)
Potion of cat's grace (300 gp)
Potion of lesser restoration (300 gp)
Scroll of shatter (150 gp)
Scroll of shield other (150 gp)
Wand of summon monster I (CL 3rd, 9 charges) (Limit 1; 135 gp)

If you continue to play these characters in PFS, keep in mind these items are always available for purchase!

Thank you sir. I replied via email and PM I think, but once more, thank you.

Sean: If you're looking to run more low level PFS PBP, I have been running a First Steps group (partway through part 2 now) and it's been not bad in PBP format. If you wanna start your own, I'll be happy to share my google docs maps and such with you, just PM me if you go for it. Those are good modules to GM because the GM chronicles for that will let you start a character of your own at level 2, with full prestige.

I'll probably hold off on running another PbP for a bit... I kind of wanted to try one of the adventure paths, but I'm playing in a few and just running this module took some work. :P

Thanks for sticking through it, though! Wasn't sure if that last combat would ever end, but I had fun. :)

Indeed; thanks Sean!
