Fortune Hex:
The witch can grant a creature within 30 feet a bit of good luck for 1 round. The target can call upon this good luck once per round, allowing him to reroll any ability check, attack roll, saving throw, or skill check, taking the better result. He must decide to use this ability before the first roll is made. At 8th level and 16th level, the duration of this hex is extended by 1 round. Once a creature has benefited from the fortune hex, it cannot benefit from it again for 24 hours.

"RAWR!" Gobzilla roars as he rushes into combat. Hearing her master's call for a mutual attack, Gaia quickly follows at his heels.

The Greatest Goblin Druid reaches their target first but waits for his companion to get into position. Gaia is upon her prey in the next instant and bites at its head. Seeing his cue, Gobzilla slashes one of his claws across the creature's belly.

Gaia Bite: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 4 + 2 = 19
Gaia Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Gobzilla Bite: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 7 + 2 = 21

Since we're not playing with AoOs, Gobzilla runs to H6 and readies an action to attack once Gaia gets in place. Gaia then moves to F8 and attacks, which triggers Gob's readied action to attack. Gobzilla has a +10 to Handle Gaia, and she's trained to attack all creatures, so no need to make a Handle Animal check (DC to make an animal act on a trick they know is 10). Also, since he is channeling his Totem, Gob can freely talk to Gaia (and any dinosaur/reptile).

Round 1…

Gemdar – Gobzilla has moved away from you in the first round, I imagine you will move close to support him in round 2?

Gobzilla and Gia rush forwards, and just then a gust of wind blows a cloud of dust through the air – Penny screams, in fear for Gobzilla as he is momentarily obscured, and this makes Ehsmaralduh sidestep quickly to Penny’s side. Then the air clears and the rest of the group watches as Gia, and then Gobzilla both leap at one of the small machines with teeth bared

The two are startled when their teeth bite into the hard shell like body of the machine and even though they manage to puncture it a little, the machine does not seem to stop.

The strange dead head on the machine Gobzilla attacked, rolls to the side, bringing its burning red eyes right in front of the savage druid. There is a flash of bright red light and it washes over Gobzilla

Gobzilla must pass a Fortitude Save, DC 11 or be dazzled for one round

Behind them, the creatures keep a steady but not hurried march toward the rest of the group, one bug marches right past Gia, but a second one stops and the articulated arm on the top of the shell unfolds, the dagger like end of the arm aiming for Gia’s heart

The mechanical arm is fast, but the aim is off and the blade retracks after striking only the air above Gia's shoulder.

The machines have moved closer. The map has been updated, the whole party can now go, Tabaac and Fluuk's actions will go before Gemdar's and Gobzilla's round 2 actions

Gob full-round attacks the Red Machine and orders Gaia to attack the Orange Machine as a free action. With a +10 in Handle Animal when Handling Gaia, he automatically makes the required roll.

Gaia quickly hops over toward the Orange Machine and unleashes a flurry of teeth and talon upon it.

round 2, sort of…

Tabaac reloads, and fires again watching in amazement as his shot ricochets off the metallic shell of the creature, while Fluuk, sensing the hard nature of these beast might make them difficult to penetrate, casts a spell on his weapon in hopes of making it hit even harder.

Ehsmaralduh tries to move forward, but Penny grabs her by the shirt and pulls her back

Hopping up and down in frustration, and cackling malevolently, Gemdar follows Gobzilla shouting at him to try and stay close.

Practically climbing on top of the machine in front of him, Gobzilla claws and bites furiously. When his teeth bounce off the hard shell he switches his efforts to the more easy to damage leg parts, and with both hands rips the wood like material to shreds causing the machine to emit a small spray of blue and gold sparks. Damaged beyond serviceability, the machine under Gobzilla collapses to the ground.

Gaia leaps back toward the party, catching the advancing machine before it can reach the others, but even though the faithful dinosaur claws and bites frantically, she cannot damage the machine

Over the ledge of the gorge, more machines appear.

Before Gaia starts to attack the creature in front of her, Gobzilla quickly rushes back to Gaia's side and takes a bite out of the robot zombie goblin she is fighting.

Sorry everyone, but due to my delay we are all a little out of order – at the end of round 2, Fluuk will destroy the Org machine, so Gobzilla can stay where he is, and Gaia can come and aid him – I’ll give them both the benefit of my mistake, and say that their combined attacks destroy, Yel, and Grn. Okay!

Round 2…wrap up

Fluuk fires his magically enhance crossbow at the machine trying to stab Gaia, the bolt, enhanced as it is, plows through the thick metal of the shell of the creature and bright blue and orange sparks come shooting out of the hole the bolt leaves behind as it disappears into the body. The strange machine freezes in place, apparently destroyed.

Round 3…

Gemdar spins and gives Gaia a wicked smile, improving the dinosaur’s luck in the same way that Gobzilla’s is. The faithful dinosaur runs to help Gobzilla who goes mad with teeth and claw. When the dust clears, Gobzilla and Gaia are standing atop the dismembered machines that had advanced on the druid.

But their victory is short lived as another machine comes near

Round 3 move, Blu moves to I,7 and attacks Gobzilla with a Ray, Red2 moves to F, 11, and is destroyed by Fluuk and Tabaaac, others will be moved tonight

Another machine lumbers slowly toward Gobzilla and when it is close the eyes release a flash of red light

Gobzilla must make a Will save, DC 17, to not be affected by the “Flare”

Tabaaac loads his weapon again, and this time he sees his bullet break a leg joint on one of the machines

Fluuk loads and fires again as well, hitting the damaged machine just above the damaged leg, hitting with enough force to carry through the machine and come out the other side. The force of the blow is so strong it flips the machine onto its back, where it begins to leak a dark oily substance onto the ground.

Gemdar and Gobzilla are up – it is the top of Round 4, Gobzilla and Gaia are in melee with Blu machine, others are still coming over the wall

He then walks up behind Gobzilla (but away from the monsters). "Smush him! Smush him!"

Gobzilla and Gaia set their sights on the blue robot zombie goblin and proceed to attack it all out. Gob takes a quick hop closer and "RAWRS!" for Gaia to get into position. Once the Allosaurus moves, they proceed to unleash a hail of claw and fang upon their mutual foe.

Round 4…

Gemdar continues to encourage Gobzilla to fight, despite the hazard of the flashing Red Eyes!

Gobzilla, you owed me another Will save versus the Flare, but since I’ve been out of it long enough, let’s skip it and move on, ‘k

Gobzilla leaps into a better position, and tears in to the strange machine/undead hybrid. His teeth clatter against the hull of the machine, but he bites down with enough force to feel something under the shell pop, and then he digs one claw into each of the forward legs on the machine and twists them out of their natural alignment, causing sparks to come flying out as the machine collapses.

With the machine destroyed, Gaia, who moved into a position where she could attack another monster if necessary, ignores the one Gobzilla takes down, and attacks the next one instead.

Gaia would probably know not to attack the one Gobzilla destroyed, I imagine, and she would not have the benefit of the flanking for these attacks, but she still hits with bite and one claw.

Struggling to overcome the toughness of the metallic hides of these creatures, Gaia bites and claws as best she can, and the machine seems to shutter, but does not go down.

Nearby, other machines seem to respond to the movements of the shuddering monster machine, and suddenly two of them all move together to attack Gaia, while the shuddering, nearly destroyed machine turns its eyes toward Gaia and flash a brilliant red glow in her face

Gaia needs to pass a Will Save, DC 17, or be affected by Flare

The dagger like arms of the machines cannot generate enough force to penetrate the dinosaurs tough hide

Fluuk watches as the small machines converge on Gaia, and turns his weapon toward one of the other machines coming over the edge of the chasm. The shot he fires catches the machine under the armored carapace and flips it off its legs hurling back down a thousand feet below.

I’ll try to move machines on the map tonight, Tabaaac has a round 4 action available, and then it is round 5

Tabaaac fires his musket at another machine coming over the ridge, striking it hard enough to send it tumbling back into the gorge

Round 5…

Gemdar calls on the others to stay close, while Gobzilla and Gaia continue to try and use teeth and claws to slow the oncoming onslaught.
Gobzilla nearly chips a tooth trying to bite through the tough metallic shell of another creature as he leaps from the back of one to the back of another. With a savage twist he tears off the creatures front leg with one hand, and the already weakened machine crashes to the floor.

Rearing back with a low growl, Gaia tries to get her claws on another machine and cannot, then with her mouth open as wide as she can she bites the back of the machine and her teeth find the open slot between the top and bottom shell and the force of her jaws pop the creature open like an oyster, the inside of the machine, a tangle of strange looking ropes, pumps, rods, gears, and jelly filled sacks, tears apart as the shell is separated and the machine stops moving where it stands.

Two machines attack Gobzilla and Gaia
Yel2 Attack vs Gobzilla: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Red3 Attack vs Gaia: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13

But the dagger like arms swing through the air missing.

Two more machines come over the ridge, and then to everyone’s amazement it looks like no more appear

Fluuk fires another crossbow bolt, but his aim is too low.

Once again Gaia and Gobzilla leap to the next enemy, flanking one of the small machines, with tooth and claw the two tear wooden limbs from the metal body and crush the shell with repeated dents until it collapses throwing blue sparks in every direction.

Suddenly a machine rushes at Tabaaac while two other machines close on Gaia

Red3 moves to G-6, Yel3 moves to K-10, Org3 moves to J-10

Melee Dagger attack versus Tabaaac: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13

Tabaaac leans back and avoids the stabbing dagger like claw, and Gaia isn’t sure which way to move, hoping her thick hide will protect her, but one of the daggers stabs at her flank and penetrates between two scales

"Rawr!" Gobzilla calls out to Gaia as he hops over to the next opponent.

The allosaurus lets out a growl of acknowledgement in reply and dashes over to her next foe. Once in position, she lets out a powerful bite. Gobzilla then takes the chance to slash and chomp at the next robot zombie goblin.

Gobzilla moves to K7 via five foot step. Gaia moves to K9 and attacks K8. Gob then full-round attacks.

Round 7…

Gaia and Gobzilla continue to move closer to the edge of the great chasm, surrounding a single creature with their combined attacks as they go. Gaia bites hard against a shell, doing little damage, but Gobzilla is right there taking a leg in each claw and twisting back and forth until the familiar blue sparks of death come shooting out of the gaps in the creatures shell.

Fluuk dismounts raises his gun and fires another shot at one of the small creatures blasting it into bits and pieces

Smoke and dust cloud the air all around. The fait hiss of a billion insects still sounds across the landscape. The party of Goblins inch closer to the gap’s edge, waiting, waiting, but no more of the small creatures appear. The dust settles, and then in the near quiet of the drone of the background noises there is one lone loud

*POP*

As one of the previously destroyed creatures suddenly explodes sending a piece of its shell straight up into the sky

Tabaaac looks around wildly to make sure no more monstrosities are going to appear before kneeling down and patting the goblin head of the machine that tried to stab him. Hey old one. You okay? You want to be buried or something?

Thinking that since Goblins are hard to kill these pnes might not be fully dead or even if they are might still be able to tell us something

Tabaaac senses no reply from the long dead goblin head.

As Fluuk begins dragging the small machines into a pile, he is stopped occasionally, b a shower of sparks, a loud pop, of the sudden expulsion of a thin oily substance from deep within one of the machines.

Does anyone remember what the groups mission was?

Tabaaac pulls all the heads he can and piles them up We need to find Axellexa the Excellent's tomb again. That's where the Pool is in the After and he does the traditional goblin funeral dance around the heads.

Fluuk looks at the damaged machines. Unsure if anything is salvageable, he just grabs interesting random parts out of interest and stuffs them in a sack. He jars up some of the oily substance that is spilling out.

After that he rejoins the others in the quest. "Lets go! This place is cool, but creepy."

Forming up in a single file line, the party of goblin heroes sets off down the steep and narrow trail going down into the gorge.

It is not a familiar trail, but it is sort of the same tail, known as the "the skinny gits escape" that used to be found southeast of the goblin towns. You feel as though this might be that trail, but you remember it not being so steep

After a few switchbacks, the noise, the constant droning you heard from the moment you first arrived, grows quieter, until as you near the floor of the great gorge, it cannot be heard anymore at all.

The eerie silence is more troubling than the noise. At least with the noise you had to assume something, even something dangerous, was out there. Now as you reach the bottom of the gorge there is only silence, and the semi dark, shadows and grey light. The bottom of the gorge is, at least as you remember it, covered in tall ferns, and small trees with huge flat leaves.
