Since Gaia is now a skateboard with an Allosaurus on it, when making ride checks with her, does Gobzilla get that +4 bonus to handle animal that druids get when they handle their own animal companion?

I thought I said, Yes, already, maybe I didn't. Yes, you can apply handle animal to your Ride Skill Check, but you can't take any additional negative modifiers, only a negative equal to your ranks in Ride (which you should have new ones in because of the Montage, if I didn't make that clear).

Okay, you get one rank in the Ride Skill from the montage, and we decided that this ride skill is a class skill for everyone for this encounter, so that gives you a base +4 to the Ride Skill Check (plus your dex bonus)

You add handle animal to the ride skill check, and the +4 for animal companions that comes with Handle Animal

ignore saddle bonus

You can take up to a -x (equal to your bonus in Ride Skill only) to the roll

Do you guys feel it would be sort of fair if each of you rolled a d6 before your ranged touch attack, to randomly generate a target, instead of picking the Blizzard Team player with the lowest AC? You don't have to, but I think it would make the game closer

I can't believe that there have been 12 skill checks for almost six full rounds and no one has rolled a 1, sheesh

This was posted to the game thread a while back, reposted for reference

The Skazer Tag Challenge will be like an encounter, though there will be no need for initiative. Each round each player will be required to make a Ride Skill Check, and you can apply a negative modifier to the roll of any amount up to the ranks you have in Ride Skill. The DC for the Skill Check is 10. IF you roll a 1 on the skill check, you wipe out, and fall, your team loses a point. If you roll below 10, then you apply a negative modifier to your to hit roll for that round equal to the difference between what you roll and 10. If you roll 10+ and you score a hit on your to hit roll for that round, you score one point, plus one point for each negative point of modifier you took on your ride skill check. Each round you can choose to roll a to hit roll against the Blizzard patrol. There will be 6 members of the Blizzard Patrol, with Ehsmaralduh and Ivvenne you will have six on your team. Each round you can make a ranged touch attack with the gun that you are given, and all your modifiers for using guns normally apply (except nothing here will misfire or be damaged). You can cast spells during a round, instead of taking a shot, if you think it will affect the other team’s ability to shot at you, but you cannot use magic to directly injure the other team. The battle will be ten rounds of skating/boarding and shooting the Blizzard Patrol while they shoot at you and the team that scores the most points at the end of ten rounds wins the Skazer Tag Challenge. If you win, you will be granted access to the door to the After.

I had this crazy idea for going ten full rounds, but if everyone has had enough, we can call it at six, I suppose.

My bad. I think I got the 6 people per team mixed up with the rounds. I was just worried that the True Strike spell would get not used.

I'm fine with either way. I feel like we will win, unless a few rounds of bad luck for us and good luck for them.

I say that Gobzilla's incredible performance just makes them give up after this current round, but that's just me.

I put the most they can score in a round at 41. If we can end up more than 82 points ahead after round 7 finishes, you can call the game if you want. Call it a mercy win.

I always told myself that I would not go on line and tell people that I am sick.

By my estimation 100 xp short of level 3. ( maybe some others have enough to level from extra bonuses previously? )

I must have done something wrong as I've got 4600 xp which would put us at 3rd level already.

Maybe your tally is incorrect for fast advancement. You would have less overall starting XP at level 2.

Well, if you search the word "experience" in this thread you can find all the awards, and I come up with 4300 for Gemdar, so it might be that all of us haven't been paying attention to experience point awards as well as we should have been

By the way, as an aside, I know many players these days prefer to not track experience points, and like to have DMs just tell them when it is time to level up

I do not like that method. I'm old, and I prefer the old ways of keeping track of your character's progress, and letting the DM know that you have reached a new level when you have earned enough experience points.

Yes, one of the problems I created was when I posted the 1200 experience points for the Battle Top Challenge. I listed the total xp budget for the encounter, and not the per character reward. I need to go back and see exactly who was still participating at that time, to figure the per character award

Will wait for a final consensus before proceeding.

Each character now has 3300 experience points and is now level 3

Gemdar wants to know if Queen Axellexa knows any tales about the lich's minions, particularly her absolutely not Undead brewer arcanist and his minions finding and killing off, excuse me I mean asking them to leave nicely, the group of heroes that invaded her dungeons without the proper permits.
