If I recall rightly... we are going with all spears (save longspear) are one-handed. I used the stats for Spear (1d8 DAM ; 20/x3 ; 20' range) which is considered a two-hand weapon according to the book. Should I amend the damage any, change to a different spear, or leave the stats alone and just call it a one-handed weapon?
What I'm looking for is a spear that can be used for melee and throwing.
The spear maintains all it's stats, except that it is a one handed weapon. It still does 1d8 DMG, 20/x3 crit, and has a 20 ft range. This is due to spear and shield being a highly common tactic of the day.

Telekleia, any objection to Ariston either regularly or occasionally using the spear two-handed since he doesn't carry a shield?

No. You'd get 1 1/2 times str bonus as normal with no other effects.
Rather than do a wall of text, I figured this question would be better in a spoiler. The issue is feat interpretation - specifically the interaction between Channel Energy, Alignment Channel: Evil, and Channel Smite. The question is: does Alignment Channel: Evil work within a Channel Smite? The Channel Smite definition provides an example of the power being used to hammer undead... which could be its absolute limit or just an example. However, Alignment Channel modifies what types of creatures can be damaged by channeled energy. In the past, I've seen these abilities combined - so that if a character can channel blast evil outsiders, any other Channel feat is modified by it. In this scenario, Channel Smite could be used to damage an evil outsider in place of an undead.
So, I'd like to know how you'd rule on this matter. Thanks!
I was thinking we roll out of the bath-house, totally drunk hefting amphoras of wine (cuz that's how Paladins roll), and we stumble across 9 Vrocks doing a Dance of Ruin... but hey, a cyclops works too. I'm not picky.
Well, make it easy on yourself - just use the Greater Cyclops and triple his CR. CR:36 should be enough to make drunk characters sufficiently sober. :)
Sorry, guys. I got caught up in other things. Like the Voyager supplement for Pathfinder. That, and Napoleon Total War. There is a WW1 mod out for it now. Such greatness. It's very much a WIP, but so far it's great. I also got me an American Civil War mod for Empire Total War. As you can probably guess I am very busy.
What I'm really doing:
Fighting Yankees, fighting Germans, making Steampunks, and ignoring my RPs. Bad Katrina. Very bad.
Edgar and I are working on figuring out a way to advance a monster to CR 15 for this RP.
Telekleia, if I may make a suggestion, it often makes PBP combat easier if the DM rolls all intiatives at the beginning of combat, so that everyone can act in initiative order, and the initiative order will be all in one place when you go to resolve the round.
