I figured they were available, which does change the historical basis of this. But then again, it's Arcadia, in the world of Golarion. There's magic. Oh, and the native Arcadians are crossbreeds of humans, orcs, and goblinoids. I don't think being perfect as far as history goes is a big issue.

I thought about picking up an advanced gun or two for Tekumsah, but this way he gets a bunch of guns. Also, using the "antique" old flintlocks fits the character concept better. Sort of proving that even with their new and powerful weapons, the Elesomari are no match for his people.

i cannot really get a feel for a character beyone a general idea. i would hate to gain a spot here and offer a substandard performance when someone else might be more engaged in the game. therefore, i will withdraw from consideration, and wish you all the best with what sounds like a truly interesting setting.

Rough Background is ready

RPG Superstar 2013 Top 8

Druid, Cavalier, Nature Oracle

Lantern Lodge

If you want a Protector of Knowledge you could go with Order of the Scroll, if you decide to go Cavalier.

You could also ask Jelani how much it would cost to pay for one in your gear, like you could with a horse or the like. That is, if you don't care about it being a companion or whatnot.

Sorry, guys, I'm out. A little too much going on right now for me to add another game.

Okay we're two days from deadline, can I get people who are still planning on playing in this to post saying so? I don't really feel like reading back through the whole thread and trying to determine who's still in or out.

That way I can put together a list for my final selection. If we have less than 4 players I don't think I will run this. Already running 3 other games, with this one and another one still in recruitment. Don't want to keep writing stuff for it if there isn't enough interest.

I would öikr to participate.

I'm very interested in this game.

Qadira

Kaiyohos is alive and well in my mind. It would be a shame if he couldn't make it.

I... LIVE!!

Lantern Lodge

Still very interested though Burk has the hiccups (can't decide whether or not I want to throw a single level of rogue or ranger in there)

Quick question, does my mount get a defense bonus?

Also, am I able to have a ring defense?

Mount's defence bonus is based off its natural armor, it's on the defense rules page I linked to in my first post. I'm not sure what a ring defense is, but if you mean a Ring of Protection then yes. Deflection bonuses still add to your AC.

Op, thats what I meant. thanks.

Unless my counting is off, this is 4 people wanting to play the game!

I count 5! We musn't forget the greatest player of the entire game... DM Jelani.

True. We must not forget the DM.

Tekumsah hails you!

All Hail Jelani! All Hail Jelani! All Hail Jelani!

One Question:
In with collum of the Defense Bonus Table would you classify the alchemist? I suppose it's B.

Hmm, that makes me think of a Magus in this system. He'll be collumn hopping.

Yeah, that's one thing I wondered about the system: could you, rather than take Heavy Armor Proficiency or the like, instead take a feat that increases your column? I'm not sure if I'd even take it, but it's worth asking.

Also, I would assume under normal circumstances I'd be under collumn D, but would I be under collumn C because I lose Heavy Armor Proficiency?

@ Gromsch - Yes.

@ Tekumsah - Yes, you can take a feat to up your column.

@ Kaiyohos - Yes, if you only have medium armor proficiency then you are in column C.

Well, it's Friday. In my time zone anyway, I will be making my selection tonight before I go to bed.

Alright. I'm traveling right not, so I won't be able to post almost all day tomorrow. I'm heading to Louisianna, to a place where internet is not guarenteed, so I will not be able to post for a few days. I'll just say I'm traveling there, or something.

Also, for timeframes and such, what time do you run off of? ie, I'm in the Eastern Time Zone. This is just so I know that if I post at _:__ O'clock that it won't be way too long before you do.

I'm in China, 12 hours opposite EST. GMT+8

Ah, so its morning where you are. Thanks. I assumed you were in America. Also, How is China this time of year?

had a hard time to imagine greenskins, but the setting I liked, still going to miss out on the game for now, but maybe people will like the images I found and use them for themselves, City of Steam is an upcoming mmo, some races in it would look good as subtypes for greenskins, my personal fav is the goblin girl with the minigun

have fun all in the game, and Jelani, please consider me as replacement for timeframe of 3+ months from now on, would make a char then what would be most needed to fill a role in the party is someone drops out

I'm in the north east...it's hot right now, but not too bad. Maybe 80 today.

@ Ryu - Thanks for the pics. I'll keep you in mind if we need a replacement.

We are then spread all over the world. I'm in Germany (GMT +1).

Ja, dann könnten wir mal Deutsch sprechen :P Ich brauche die Übung.

Alright, looks like it's gonna be Gromsch, Kaiyohos, Tekumsah and Burk. Head over to the discussion thread and check in with your final product for review.

Kein Problem. Ich stehe dir dafür gerne zur Verfügung.

If you still have room I would submit an dual cursed oracle.

probable back story:

Spoiler:
Small at birth Tamimay M'oskyto was destined to die. He was proclaimed as a curse to the Greenskins tribe to which he was born and abandoned at the stones of the druid circle. The druids however refused to take in the child. A lone mystic or emissary of the green took pity on this child and raised him. It was no life of luxury but Tamimay still grew though not as much as other Greenskins.
He received his calling one day after going out for a hunt. He entered a cave following a fire Fennec but once he crawled past the constricting entrance he entered a room of massive proportions. Gone was the Fennec and standing in the room was a figure of pure fire. This figure called Tamimay by name and bid him come. Still in awe more than in fear, the young greenskin followed the creature to the back of the cavern. There reflected on the walls was a vision or foretelling of what would become of the tribes if they didn't throw back the expansion of the "civilized."
He reached his hand out to touch the mosaic on the wall only to have pain shoot up his arm and encase his body. Still unsure of what happened or where it happened, he awoke near the site of his home. The mystic that had raised him left a robe with flames stitched into the sleeves, a simple not saying this is for you, and a weeks worth of rations. The mystic and all accoutrements in the home had vanished.
Lost to the purpose for his abandonment and the recent vision, Tamimay wandered for days searching for a purpose and answers. He wandered into a tribe seeking nightly hospitality. During the evening meal, the encampment was attacked by folks from the nearby settlement. In anger, he stood, raised his hands and voice in protest, and stared as heat emanated from his body lighting all flammable materials nearby.
The invaders were repelled though much was lost.
In the aftermath, pain seared from his mind to his leg, leaving him
with a memory of the heat and a limp, which he acknowledges as a manifestation of the flame. The spirits of the flames still haunt him causing mishaps to things around him as they swirl to remind him of his calling, that of an oracle of flame.
Since that night he has wandered from enclave to enclave assisting where he could and passing on the story of his "vision." During his travels and wandering he has sought to find the cave once again in hopes of more knowledge. But the cave like the Fire Fennec of so long ago remains hidden.
Recently he has heard of a leader who is trying to throwback the settlers and gathering warriors from all walks of life to do so. The name whispered at first and now proclaimed openly is that of Wammsutta Thunderstick. Prompted by an urge he understands not, Tamimay has begun his search for this leader. Hoping that the he will give answer or lend direction to those seeking to oppose the incumbents to the island.

I will be using HeroLab software to create my toon.

I'll tell you what, if you post with a completed alias in the discussion thread before Burk does you can have the spot. I haven't seen an alias from Cuan yet, so we'll see.
