Greetings and salutations! Been following the thread since the beginning of the year. Had stopped for a bit because I wanted more to read when I logged in. Saw that a post had been made for additional characters so I sent some emails along.
Stealth and ranged character. Decent Notice rolls. Ex Sniper type. I however have never been in the military so my performance will be based on what is on TV which will be incorrect of course. Should be good for the movie rendition of the game however.

Given that with 2 xp from this 'job', Isabelle is now at 5 xp. Do I go ahead & update my character sheet now or when, GM-Peanuts? I will figure out & update her Beliefs later today, or when I update the rest of her sheet.
Belledonna |
I have updated my sheet.
Increased Spirit to d8 (d12 with two steps Super Spirit)
Also updated my beliefs.
Will post to gameplay later today.

I'm fine either way. I can see advantages to both. Ultimately it is your game and you can run it in the manner that seems most logical to you as long as it is consistent.
I believe they set up the adventure cards as an additional way to help the characters out if the GM was more restrictive on Bennie awards. Not limited to that as I understand however.

I enjoy the cards; I just didn't see a good time to use mine in the adventure. As for beliefs/instincts, I did subtly run toward mine with the remnant gathering off the robots, and I've been letting it colour my approach to some actions.
I'd enjoy the game either way, though. :)

I am afraid I am still not to clear on how you want beliefs/instincts to be used in play. Are they ways to communicate our characters goals helping you to set up subplots? Or are they more like achievements to be met. Sorry sometimes I can be slow to grasp things like this.
On the cards I am a fan. Mine just wasn't useful this time but I know that will change. I say keep the cards and the beliefs/instincts. The cards will be useful and I will get my head around the beliefs eventually.
All: Please consider spending this advance on the Lair edge. We need a home and the faster we can get a training room the faster we can start doubling our skill advances. Hmmm appeal to greed, that should work..

When I was setting my beliefs up after several trials and errors I came up with Find the name of the V'Sori that tortured me. I have a V'Sori basically doing a vivisection on me and am using that to explain why I am ugly. Once I find the name and meet that belief/goal I can switch to: Find where the V'Sori scientist is stationed. Then just keep advancing that until I can deep fry the sucker. I can swap this out at some point for something in my personality but more in line with the current mission if need be.
My other belief/goal is to set up a protection racket to earn income for whatever I'm doing. Again can be swapped for something more mission specific when needed.
I don't think it can just be swapped whenever but can be switched at least once per adventure.
This is what I gathered with my conversation with GM-Peanuts anyway.

They are both DA, they should be something achievable as Cash says, but something that tells me what your character wants to do. Some of the missions in the V-Map are there to allow you to achieve the goals stated.
Further posts will be delayed until I am feeling better. Have come down with the flu and the asses at work are still making me come in because they 'don't have anyone to cover my graveyard...'

Well just be sure to keep away from the exec offices. It would be terrible for the viri you are shedding to spread.

Combination of family drama & Holiday activities will likely keep me away from the computer for the weekend. If you need me to do something before Tuesday GM-Peanuts, feel free to 'bot' me.
Isabelle will be noticeably more subdued & 'reactive' rather than 'proactive'.

Guys, sorry, I was away from all computer & internet over the weekend. I'll check gameplay & post either later tonight or tomorrow morning sometime.

In a continuing effort to make this whole thing go a bit smoother, how do you guys want this game to proceed? Ideally as I've said a few times, I'd like you guys to tell me where this campaign goes, hence me adding the Beliefs in, but you guys just seem to be milling around when I give you the opportunity to go your own way. I admit I do need to be a bit more proactive about throwing some leads out for you guys.
So, would you prefer this just be a more mission oriented game where I throw the next plot hook at you, or do you want to go out and find your own mischief?
Belledonna |
My initial concept for Belle was much more pro-active than I have been playing her lately, a lot of that has been a somewhat changing life situation. That said, for the time being at least, a more 'mission oriented' focus might be nice to try & build our momentum once more.
Happy-Jack |
My understanding of the universe is that it was primarily a mission driven setting already; while I've tagged my belief in leading my play a few times to drive a character actions, I'll make it more overt in commentary in the future. I don't see Jack as being able to get the others to follow him nor do I see the others as they are at the moment being able to do so as well, so I think poking around at whatever Destruction's got for now is out best bet.

Well it's savage worlds so it's flexible. The campaign provides a bunch of pre-written missions (Savage Tales and Plot Points), and an adventure generator, but like any campaign it's meant to be tailored to the players.
Jack, it's all well and good to commentate, but I'm talking more about action here. If your character wants to track down the next piece of his ritual doodad, then have him actually... ya know, go out and look for it :p If you want me to provide some input then send me a PM and I can see about working something in. I've got a few ideas for some plot hooks for you guys, but I've got nowhere to set them at the moment because your characters are just sitting in the warehouse when not on missions (since none of you have told me otherwise).
I waited quite a while before starting this mission up to give you guys the opportunity to go out and pursue your character's goals and there was no activity. The game is not going to break because one of the characters goes AWOL for a few hours, so don't be afraid about splitting off from the group, it's one of the benefits of Play by Posts that you can have different characters doing different things without the GM having to split his focus. If Doctor Destruction has any problems with what shenanigans you guys are getting up to then you can bet he'll let you know.

Since Isabelle already knows DA fairly well, I think she is likely to go with Mus'ad, simply because she still has less experience working with him & has less of an idea how to encourage less violent, or at least less uncontrolled violence...
Belledonna |
Actually Belledonna is planning on joining the bridge action, she doesn't even know that DA is planning on something else at the moment & if she did, she already knows how to work with him. She is still learning how to work with the rest of you.
