Welcome Villains, please keep all non-game chatter out of gameplay posts, and put it here instead. Feel free to discuss with your fellow players subjects of importance to the campaign here as well :)

Human

Waves - will tidy up the profile and what not and be ready to rock most likely on Monday.

Male Human Sorcerer

Added an alias. I will work on importing the information to the alias today.

Novice, Bennies 4; Wounds none, Fatigue none; card: Flesh Wound

I am here! Ready to commit acts of well-intentioned evil!

Bennies: 4 Wounds: 0 Exp: 4

'Ello. Ready to commit acts of horribly-intentioned evil.

Bennies: 3, Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0

First things first:
Thanks! Will be adding all my info to the profile momentarily.

Novice, Bennies 4; Wounds none, Fatigue none; card: Flesh Wound

Just a head's-up. There will be times when I play Isabelle as a bit bubblier than the 'norm', there will be other times when I wind up playing her a bit darker than the 'norm'. Mostly that is because I have found how I play a character can affect my mood & I suffer from mood swings, so I try to get myself into a better mood by playing one. If this starts becoming irritating, please let me know & I will try to tone it down.

So you are saying that the deeply mad and intriguingly delusional super-criminal might be a tad unstable?

Quelle horreur!

Novice, Bennies 4; Wounds none, Fatigue none; card: Flesh Wound

No, I'm saying the player of the deeply mad & intriguingly delusional super-criminal suffers from borderline seasonal affective disorder.

But the way you put it sounds a hell of a lot better, thanks. XD

bennies 2ex 3 W:0 F:0 Card Noble Sacrifice

All good. Glad you found a mood stabilizer. I am more than happy to help.

Bennies: 3, Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0

Admit it, DA, your original character concept was a little blue happy pill.

Belledonna ... I'm sure you will seem no less psychotic than the rest of us.

bennies 2ex 3 W:0 F:0 Card Noble Sacrifice

Hey prof. M I was wandering around the SW forums and found this:

"Edge Question wrote:

Can the Arcane Resistant Edge from the main book be used in NE?
Clint wrote:
It could, but the penalty does apply to beneficial powers as well. Since not all powers in NE require a roll to activate unlike the core rules, the GM could instead make the character more "resistant" to beneficial powers by reducing the number of PPs available instead. Say a 20% reduction for Arcane Resistance and a 40% reduction for the Improved version.

You might want to reconsider that edge. Powerful but the price is steep

Heh, no worries Belledonna, as DA said, I'm sure we would have just assumed it was the character anyway :p

Alright, looks like everyone made it over :) Final checks and such incoming, then I will post the thread.

I've been going over everyone's characters, man this group is paranoid :p

Also a note for those who use pistols and may not be aware. DT stands for Double Tap, which means you can fire two bullets as one action, and it gives you a +1 to your hit and damage rolls.

Human

Mus'ad is not paranoid at least :P

Bennies: 3, Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0

That's true. I'm about to do your character next, so if you could, could you please add you character sheet and background to your Alias, would make things easier for me.

That goes for Professor Mayhem too.

Hmm actually Mus'ad you do have that instinct about anyone with their limbs still attached being a danger. That's kinda paranoid :p

Human

Updated with the basics.

Why is a line from STAR WARS suddenly springing to mind?..

Not paranoid... just common sense. I mean Mus'ad can lift five tons and put his bare fist through plate steel... he just expects some others to be similarly gifted.

Male Human Sorcerer

Updated my alias, as well as tweaked my belief (considerably) and instincts.

Gah, should have rechecked your profile before I hit send. Feel free to ignore the bits about your gear and beliefs then Mus'ad, these ones are fine (although the second one might be a bit ambitious, depending on what he counts as an authority figure...) :)

Alrighty! Everyone should now have received a PM from myself with comments, requests, and information pertinent to their characters. Please respond to those as soon as possible. I will now create the game thread, and kick things off.

First post is up! Have fun everyone :)

Also, GM-Peanuts; Isabelle's minion(s) do call her Isabelle. They are laying down their lives for her, that is the least she can do.

bennies 2ex 3 W:0 F:0 Card Noble Sacrifice

Adjusted gear. For some silly reason I thought guns came loaded. I wonder where that idea came from....odd.

Novice, Bennies 4; Wounds none, Fatigue none; card: Flesh Wound

@DA: That was what I was assuming. Well, actually I was assuming that he had taken care not to do any face-to-face with Belladonna. As far as the Bank job goes, sure, just realize if he wound up getting anybody actually dead, she is still going to hold that against him. I figure he has tried playing by her rules but sometimes 'accidents happen', she gets prissy, storms off in a huff, they work independently for a while, then one or the other comes up with a job they know the other will want in on/work better with both of them. This had probably been going on until Isabelle got hospitalized.

bennies 2ex 3 W:0 F:0 Card Noble Sacrifice

Bella: perfect. In all likelihood you have never had a face to face with DA. Minion's posing as DA yes. DA posing as a minion/go between cloaked under chameleon/psi damping field sure but mainly secure e-mail and letter drop. Depending on how much is known about your mind bending skills DA may well have kept you at a severe distance.

As far as the bank job, say a 30% chance someone did not stick to their predicted pattern and had to be 'removed'? Chance 1d100 ⇒ 11.

Looks like someone saw something they shouldn't have. I am thinking a guard stayed over shift in one of the security rooms and either had a Mega-taser induced heart attack. Or DA activated the halon fire suppressants before the guard could pass the alert.

Novice, Bennies 4; Wounds none, Fatigue none; card: Flesh Wound

Which means Isabelle probably blames DA for her sobriquet. He probably thinks it is hilarious/wonders why she is so pissed.

In other words, that is likely their 'You are just not gonna let that go, are you?' moment. Which means it was almost certainly their very first job together/possibly Isabelle's very first 'job' period. I suspect Isabelle's 'career' was only about half a decade prior to the Invasion. DA definitely knows Belledonna can do almost anything that can conceivably be accomplished by just messing with somebody's head, at least on a one-on-one basis, so yeah, very severe distance...
On the other hand he also knows she really isn't a hypocrite about the whole 'don't kill, ever' thing. So his concerns are more of the 'she can make my life a living hell' variety, rather than the 'they will never find the body...' variety.
DA is also probably aware of/may have coined the 'rubber bullets' nickname for Belledonna.

Human

Mus'ad remains a reasonably competent hand to hand fighter. d8 Agi, d10 Strength and d10 Fighting.

I'm assuming the nullifiers will remove the size benefits only, and he'll remain just a big guy.

GM Peanuts - replying to PM queries:
The monstrous penalty is tied to the Growth power being permanently on. I see it kind of like Strong Guy from X-Factor. He fails at Charisma because his body is just out of proportion due to the big ol' muscles. With only two power steps in Growth he hasn't changed size category, so he's just a big big guy.

Knowledges I've collapsed to English and Hindi - he now has almost zero knowledge of the world around him :P

On the revised Beliefs - I think it'll be nice to have one short term and one longer term. Gives him a constant update on short term objectives, while keeping the longer term one in sight for later.

PM background is perfect - and no issues there ;)

Human

Bad Penny - just a note:
The bald are deceivers - Mus'ad believes that truthfullness is a province of only the hirsute.

With Intra Party conflict I'm never going to make a big deal out of it, and let me know if it's affecting your enjoyment. Also feel free to use big words that Mus'ad won't understand or backhanded compliments that he won't get.

Bennies: 4 Wounds: 0 Exp: 4

Yea, I had totally caught that earlier and am looking forward to the friction between our characters. Expect to be snarked often.

Size+2 is like... 8 feet tall or so. You're the same size as the fins actually. You could still have been a big guy before your powers however, but you would have shrunk a couple feet once the nullifiers were put on. Fair enough about he monster thing, wasn't sure if it was like that, or if you were like Thing or otherwise different lookin'.

He is trilingual though... barely.

Fixed that for you.

Mental note: chameleon rig for Mus'ad.

(Power chameleon (3) device (-1), slow activation (-1), net cost (1))

Perhaps the nullifiers do not actually cause him to shrink but due the loss of growth gained strength make him look more like a giant ruin of a man rather than move him closer towards 'normal'.

Just random thoughts.

Note to Mus'ad With two folks mentioning prison haircuts I suspect there's more than one person you would categorize as Dhōkhēbāza in the M'buna. Actually if you were in custody for any length of time you were most likely shaved as well. But perhaps there was no one willing to face your wrath so that reg was conveniently 'forgotten' Or perhaps the V'sori could care less about prisoner hygiene and don't bother.

Mus'ad was only freshly picked up, they haven't bothered to do anything to him :)

Human

Mus'ad not covered in blood of others... this is the way you know his hair has not been cut :P

Bennies: 4 Wounds: 0 Exp: 4

So I got a few clarifications before I can take my turn. I was hoping that the mysterious shape the Doc dropped later was our gear, but there's no mention of it. I assume my blaster was in the M'buna transporting us since it was on me when I was captured. Did the Doc's goons grab it when they hauled us out? And did they drop it with me? Cause I can wander around doling out feeble grandfather punches and tanking fire if that's what I gotta, but a weapon of some sort would be nice.

Also if we get 3 bennies do I get one extra for luck or what? Am I using one now?

Belledonna: The soak roll is a free 'the plot says you get thrown out of an aircraft' roll. No bennies need be spent (unless you want to reroll anyway). You are only soaking one wound. If you make the soak roll then you will be unshaken, but if you take the wound then you will be shaken on your turn, and have to make a spirit roll or spend a benny (or both) to become unshaken as normal.

Yes the Wild Die counts as a success, that's the whole point of the wild die, it makes you guys special :p Also don't forget, dice explode (or in savage worlds terms, ace), so if you roll the highest number on the die you get to reroll and add it together I think the highest I's seen someone roll was in the fourties.

As to the drones, I'm not sure you ever would have run into one before. They arrived with the V'Sori, so at most you might have seen a squad of them in the parade when the V'Sori revealed themselves, and probably at the hospital. Other than that you've been in a coma for ~3 years :p

Yes Bad Penny you get the extra for luck, apologies I forgot you had it. As to gear, well... see the thread.

Novice, Bennies 4; Wounds none, Fatigue none; card: Flesh Wound

I'm assuming the 'drones' look like robots in Belledonna's self-assessment. She is assuming they are robots unless they are obviously biological, in which case that statement becomes null & void. If they do look like robots, then she was enough experience with those to believe that they won't have a 'mind' she can access.
In the case of the 'exploding' Wild Die for her acrobatics attempt, Exploding Wild Die: 1d6 ⇒ 4, Which brought the total up to 10. So she either makes it look really good, or not much more effect at all.
Alright, so Belledonna still has three bennies. Cool.

Human

Mus'ad won't be rolling his Common Knowledge - he will remain blissfully ignorant in this case ;)

bennies 2ex 3 W:0 F:0 Card Noble Sacrifice

I love you Mus'ad! Now we have a gun.

Or at least we will once I cut the arm free and do a little rewiring. Good thing smashing through the roof provided lots of sharp metal for makeshift tools. And mind you there is likely to be a rather hefty minus to the repair roll to get a useful gun out of this. Might be able to jury-rig something short term though.... Maybe set the gun to explode. Could be useful.. Now where is my hacking rig?

bennies 2ex 3 W:0 F:0 Card Noble Sacrifice

just realized I could have been clearer on my trappings. Fixing.

bennies 2ex 3 W:0 F:0 Card Noble Sacrifice

Belladonna made a good point. Peanuts how do you want us to post actions?

Should we wait until our card count or post when we can and then you work it out?

I am happy either way, just wondering.

I did comment in one of my earlier posts to just post what you were doing, keeping in mind your place in the initiative order. We're all very active at the moment, but this game will inevitably slow down like all the others, so waiting for everyone to post in order is usually infeasible.

So yes, post you action after the current round of initiative is dealt, and if your action ends up getting contradicted then I will ask you to repost.

Spoilers labelled with a type of check (and no other text) mean everyone should make that check. If only one person, or only part of the group is meant to make the check then the spoiler will reflect that. If a spoiler is addressed to one specific person then only that person should look at it.

I apologize if things haven't been completely clear so far, I will do my best to preserve clarity in the future :) I hope everyone is enjoying themselves.

bennies 2ex 3 W:0 F:0 Card Noble Sacrifice

Having a blast! Bring on next round! Well after the other folks get an action of course.
