Atlas does love running multiple characters.
I'm convinced he's already trying to figure out how to steal Mac and James.
By the way, my update for my games will come tonight. Natural food festival today. ...and next week is Gastro fest with gourmet coffees and microbrews (I don't drink but I'll be hunting for root beers).

@Roland No you don't have to post dialogue for her if you don't want.
RE:Multiple Characters and extras You can take some of them along on missions/adventures if you like, but they 1) Run the risk of dying 2) Cannot do anything in the community while they are away.
re:Document Yes, its under "Scrapping and Community Building" in the campaign info tab
re:Pip Boys Yes, but no where near 100. They have about 30.
re:Library No, not an electronic one merely an extensive physical one.

You're not terribly familiar with Fallout, are you? Computers are powerful, but ANYTHING but portable. The smallest are terminals that take up a desk. Most are entire walls or even rooms.
The technology divergence from the main timeline is an increase in quality but an ignorance of portability. It's all vacuum tubes and the like, not microchips.
GM Niles |
Yeah what microchips there are are exceptionally valuable.
IIRC, microchips were a very new thing that was just being developed before the bombs fell. Thus the targeting chips that Elder Freya had you dig up are pretty valuable.

Mind you, that does make Pip boys a bit of an anachronism. Understandably, most computers have vacuum tubes, but then something you can wear on your wrist that can store digital maps, creature data, gear specifications, radio recordings, and all the notes you care to make on where the sweet l00t is that you'll need to come back for later after you've grabbed enough firepower to get past the boss that is guarding it, can only be possible with microchips.
Their videocards might be rubbish, but that's at least one example of portable storage. Jus' sayin'. =)

If you guys don't wanna do the community building as a big part of the campaign it doesn't have to be. We can relegate it to the side and you just tell me what the community does each week and I'll handle it from there.
There's also Hexploration that can be done also. The mechanics are similar to those in Kingmaker, enter a hex, roll a bunch of Perception (Notice) checks. See what happens, move on to a new Hex.
And there are of course dozens and dozens of plot points tied to different things and places.
Jack Elroy Powers |
I certainly want to do the community stuff, but I take the point that -just- doing Hexploration can get tedious. Maybe break it up? Like, the PCs just did some Community stuff, so now let's go follow up that side-quest with the radio tower. The Community can keep scavenging, and then the week after that get to working on the dam.

Please take a look at the Loot Log and edit it to reflect what your character is bringing with them on the journey. You have each about 14 days worth of food (weighing about 14 LBS) that I've already added to the log. You can delete it if you wish.
Also, regarding selling items, you can sell or trade items with Jessica Shaw who will get them back to Wright Town. You can also put a bug in Jessica's ear about things you want.
I've updated the loot log with some tabs so you can keep track of what is currently held in Gateway, what you want to sell and you can make a list of what you want to buy and each Month I'll roll to see if those items are available.

Spreadsheet's filled out. Man, not having Brawny hurts. I'll be encumbered until we eat some of this food. A pack animal might be my first major purchase.
GM Niles |
So, here are the movement rules I'm working with. My original estimate of 4 days there and 4 days back was way off.
It's going to be more like 11 days there and 11 back.
I'll allow Survival rolls to aid in travel and make any hard or difficult terrain one category less.
If you rest for a day or a half day, I'll allow Survival rolls for foraging food.

I have a rough few weeks of work ahead- by May I should be back to normal but don't let me hold you up if I don't post in time.

Hey guys, I'm sorry but life has gotten to the point where I cannot consistently post, and I don't have time for my online games anymore. This includes both as a player and as a GM. I've enjoyed playing with most of you for almost a year now, but I just can't go on. I'm sorry. I hope you understand.
GM Niles |
Okay, well guys I'mm gonna shutter this one. I was running it for GTG and it looks like he's out. I'm not really into this setting as much as I thought I was gonna be.
I am however eyeballing the Rippers setting...I picked up the companion in a SW bundle and it looks awesome.
I'll probably start it up sometime this summer once I'm done with this crazy end of school year stuff. I can PM you guys if you are interested .
GM Niles |
Yeah sure, I was kinda waiting on starting my Rippers game so it would be easier for me to post here that I had started it.
