Wait, wut? Finland is a real place?!?
I thought it was made up, like Canadia, Rahadoum, Seattle, or Osirion.
Well, anyway...congrats, Jukka.

Of all those, I think only Canada is fictional, I think the rest are real...

Good evening! Thank you for you warm welcome, I'm glad to be part of the team!
I've been running PFS in Finland ever since the campaign kicked off - the core of our group carried over from Living Greyhawk, more or less. I'm not the only active GM around and I'm not even the most active GM around, but I do hold the distinction of having the first ever dead PC in Finland.
The Finnish PFS scene is small but active, and we're looking to expand. Thus far, we've got Helsinki, Espoo and Tampere covered and are looking for ways to reach the gaming scenes in Jyväskylä, Turku and Oulu. If you're running Pathfinder Society in these cities (or anywhere else in Finland, for that matter!), I'd be interested in hearing from you.
We have a strong presence in the larger conventions, Ropecon and Tracon - indeed, I'm the tabletop RPG admin at Ropecon, and my fellow PFS veteran Deussu is my counterpart at Tracon. We're working on reaching the smaller conventions of Maracon, Conklaavi and Levels.
We have an active forum (in Finnish) at http://pelilauta.fi/index.php/board,9.0.html and a campaign wiki at http://mekanismi.sange.fi/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/PathfinderSociety/PathfinderSoc iety
The latter is used to hold character sheets (http://mekanismi.sange.fi/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/PathfinderSociety/Hahmot) and information on who's played which scenarios (http://mekanismi.sange.fi/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/PathfinderSociety/Pelitaulukko S01), among other things. It also holds introductory information for new players.
We use the forum and the wiki to coordinate and keep track of games. To this end, most of the content is in our strange moon-language. Sorry, foreigners. You can probably figure out the character sheets, though.
So, thanks. I've got a number of ideas on how to proceed from here, regarding university gaming clubs, libraries and the few game stores with actual play space, but I'm all ears for questions and suggestions.

Hmm. Is the Finnish venture-captain going to make it to PaizoCon UK this year to meet with other European venture-captains and have his brains sucked out by Mr. Richard Pett?
PS
Congratulations on the appointment...
Unfortunately, no. It's at the same time as Finncon 2012, a local science fiction convention that has engaged my services as someone who knows which end of the microphone to talk to and serves as a small but important source of study credit for me.
Since I actually have vacation, my summers tend to be frightfully busy, but I'll see what I can do next year. I would be honoured to have my brain sucked out by Mr Pett.

Welcome Jukka and congratulations on joining the 'European Elite'!
There's a place reserved for you at PaizoCon UK for next year.Jukka Särkijärvi |
Welcome aboard, Jukka! How are thing up with the Linnorms?
They're picking up. Playing a game today, actually.
Seasons 1 and 2 were a bit quiet here, but when we had Erik Mona as the Guest of Honour at Ropecon 2011, I decided to wake things up. I think we have around 40-ish more or less active players spread around Helsinki, Espoo and Tampere, where I'm based. A Venture-Lieutenant will be appointed for the Helsinki region once we get the details straightened out.

Well snog me sideways and call me a snip, Särkijärvi got promoted! Congrats!
This doesn't mean you get to boss me around outside game sessions, right?
Right?
It goes the other way around. Considering the bewildering variety of circumstances where you've failed to say 'no' and ended up as my subordinate, game sessions are pretty much the only place where I don't get to boss you around.

Jukka, this whole thing about me horribly killing all the other special guests at Paizocon UK every year is just exaggeration.

Jukka,
I was thrilled to learn of the appointment this afternoon! I am so pleased that Pathfinder will have such an able representative in Finland. My visit last year was enormously special to me, and it's important to me that the game have a warm home there. I am absolutely certain we have the right person to make that happen!

Why, both Jukka. You know how stories about meat-mincers get a life of their own...

Absolutely Mike, you'll get a very warm welcome from the Brits, just like Sergeant Howie did:)

Oh, well. Perhaps it is for the better. Mr Raggi might take exception if his adventure writers started offing one another.

Good point Jukka, looks like it's Dave's year:)
