Daumari AoO Damage: 1d10 + 4 + 1d6 + 2d6 ⇒ (2) + 4 + (3) + (5, 4) = 18 (includes flaming and bane)
Shaitain #1 Grapple on Bahir: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (16) + 18 = 34 (with charge and earth mastery)

The earth elemental off to the side of the conflict makes fire appear in its hand. Hurling it past the closer Shaitian, the flames thrust past Bahir and nearly miss the one to his northeast. (These guys have horrible touch ACs, Damage: 8)

Efreat, looking up at the creature who knocked him out of the sky, readies another pair of scorching rays if the Sphinx takes another aggressive action against the party. But at hearing her name, her focus is on the cleric balancing on the corner of the sudden structure. She turns slowly, gliding around in a wide arc, maintaining her altitude. She looks back and forth between Mah'ysa and the Shaitians pursuing her, but doesn't act either way. "Ha! She will not help you!" yells out the newly appointed leader as he moves in Mah'ysa's direction. "We have a way for all to escape this golden prison as you call it." His speech is interrupted as he glances to his left to see the one Daumari put down fall.

The two on Mah'ysa close in and strike out again. Having run out of wall to dodge on, one of them manages to strike the nimble one with a painful slice into her flesh. (Damage: 12) The hovering gargoyle gives pursuit, this time striking out with one of it's claws. The cleric easily blocks the attempt with her quarterstaff.

Pae tries to hold off the two attacking him as he comes under an onslaught of claw, teeth, and horns. But holding himself against the wall, he just manages to keep these things off him.

The one before Bahir, not willing to give up, fruitlessly continues to press his attack. His flanking partner, witnessing the flames fly forth from this south, turns to address the hopefully easier target. Hazreem does indeed prove to be an easier target, but his harder earthly shell seems to protect himself from the brunt of the attack. (Total Damage: 16)

"Enough! You fools!" Watching the other shaitians fails miserably is apparently too much for the big guy as he takes off towards Bahir in a quick charge right through the buzzing insects. He crosses in front of Daumari's threat range allowing the Inquisitor to thrust out one end of his hammers, striking him and nearly throwing him off course, (Damage: 18) but he stays on target and tackles the Paladin, holding him close in his strong, earthy arms. "Now get him!" he yells to the one next to him.

Round 12 - Everyone is up!

With the Sphinx not showing as an immediate threat, Efreat (NPC'd) turns towards the two going after Mah'ysa. He falls back, away from the earth creatures, yells "besh'kree'nar", and directs a fine bead of fire across the sand where it denotes directly north of the Shaitian in a huge burst of fire that spreads out covering both Shaitians. The flames just miss Mah'ysa and the Gargoyle, and fail to reach high enough to effect the flying Sphinx. The northern one takes the blunt of the blast (Damage: 28) while the other is able to shield himself with the first. (Damage: 14)

Daumari (NPC'd) steps up over the fallen genie and drills into the leader holding Bahir. But this guy seems better than the others and is able to dodge one of his attacks. But it is not enough. Holding onto Bahir was too difficult and gives Daumari the edge he needs. The last blow did him in. He tries to hold on to Bahir, but his grip weakens and the Paladin finds himself free as the Shaitian collapses to the ground.

The remaining Shaitian before Bahir watches as the second guy in charge falls to the hands of these little creatures. It is too much for him and he backs away, fading into the stone of the temple behind him. He disappears from sight.

The one on Hazreem, barely injured and not yet aware of what transpired behind him, continues his assault on the druid who continues to take a beating as the Shaitian's blade rips through the little earth elemental's body. (Total Damage: 20) The other two remaining Shaitians continue to fight as well. One presses Mah'ysa on the wall while the other turns and charges after the annoying sorcerer. Mah'ysa continues her dance and avoids the attacks, but the one charging towards Efreat flings his magical sand as he attacks. But Efreat avoids it easily. The Shaitian's blade is a different story and it cuts through his defenses. (Damage: 9)

The Gargoyles continue on Mah'ysa and Pae. The one on Mah'ysa manages to sink a stony tooth into Mah'ysa shoulder (Damage: 4) while Pae continues to fight off the dual attack on him.

Zulfiqar, high above, watches the carnage below. She calls out, sadness in her voice, "I can't... I can't do this anymore." And she turns to the north and flies away rising in altitude as she does so. (She is now about 70 feet off the map to the north of O/P and about 65 feet in the air.)

Yes, I agree. You are on top of an 8 foot wall being attacked by an 11 foot tall Shaitian and a Gargoyle who is hovering next to you if not landing on the wall along with you. Did I state otherwise?

Oh wait, you moved to N-13. Missed that. Adjusted. Both the Shaitian and the Gargoyle follows, but would only get one attack each. Shaitian had missed anyways, but Gargoyle missed first attack. So undid 4 damage. Gargoyle now at N-12. Shaitian now at L-10.

Daumari Attack #3 Damage: 1d10 + 4 + 1d6 + 2d6 ⇒ (4) + 4 + (2) + (4, 6) = 20

Bahir steps south, leaving plenty of room for Daumari to assist in the attack as well. He strikes out with his hasted quickness, but doesn't prove to be much more than one of the stinging wasps. (Damage: 6, Reduced by DR: 20) But when Daumari steps up with his adamantine hammers, he gets a rude awakening to the events behind him. The ball of the hammer pounds him once, twice, three times with incredible power and accuracy critically wounding the genie. But somehow, some way the earth creature manages to stay upright. (Total Damage: 63)

As Pae continues to hunker down, Mah'ysa dashes across the wall above him, leaps down over one of the Gargoyles, and heads away from the pinned in Halfling. Holding up her Ankh, she calls out to the Dawnflower creating a wave of healing energy equivalent to that of an beginning acolyte. But it is enough to provide some divine healing to Hazreem, Pae, and herself.

Efreat (NPC'd) takes a step back and sends forth two more fiery blasts. "Kreash'nar" Both strike the earth beast. It doesn't look like it can take another hit. (Total Damage: 27)

The gargoyles seem per-occupied with the halfling and continue their attempt at hurting the little guy. Moving around into flanking, they find they can finally get through his defenses. They get him with several claws and a horn, with one of the claws tearing deep into the little man's flesh. (Total Damage: 21) The other Gargoyle continues to pursues the Cleric, striking out with one of it's claws and catching her as struggles to get Sarenrae's energy off. (Damage: 8)

The Shaitian pursuing Mah'ysa, having taken quite a beating himself and watching Daumari tear into their new leader and nearly take the next one down with a single blow, plus the one chasing Efreat seemingly not standing a chance, yells out something in their rough language. As he says this, he phases down into the sand below disappearing from sight. The one chasing Efreat stops and does the same. And the one nearly dead from Daumari doesn't need to be told to retreat, he is already there. The sudden lack of living Shaitians finally gets the Gargoyles attention...

MOVE ACT: Tumble back 10' to [S,15].
STANDARD ACT: Cast Searing Light.

Backflipping out of reach of the gargoyle, Mah'ysa raises the palm of her hand to it and intones;
"Behold! The Gaze of Sarenrae falls upon you!"
A narrow beam bright as the sun lances out of her palm to strike the gargoyle.
Ranged touch attack: 1d20 + 9 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 9 + 1 + 1 = 12 for a possible 4d8 ⇒ (5, 8, 1, 5) = 19 burn damage.

Searing Light: Focusing divine power like a ray of the sun, you project a blast of light from your open palm. You must succeed on a ranged touch attack to strike your target. A creature struck by this ray of light takes 1d8 points of damage per two caster levels (maximum 5d8).

Osirion

Bahir wastes no time and charges the gargoyles tearing into Pae.

Wild Shape: Medium Air Elemental Male Human (Desert) Druid 11

Hazreem ignores his wounds and moves to engage the Gargoyle that had been tormenting Mah'ysa. Instead of slamming the evil beast, he elects to use his flaming fist to deliver the blow.

Efreat Scorching Ray #1 Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 1, 1) = 6

Efreat Magic Missile Damage: 5d4 + 5 ⇒ (1, 4, 4, 2, 4) + 5 = 20

Tumbling away (Auto-succeed), Mah'ysa tries once again to call upon the Dawnflower's blessing, but her searing divine light blasts the sand before the Gargoyle instead without any effect to the stony creature.

Bahir charges the nearest one flanking Pae who doesn't see it coming, his frosted blade making a clear cut, lobbing the creature's head clean off. (Crit, Total Damage: 21)

As Pae slips away past the now headless gargoyle, Hazreem moves up and touches the one Mah'ysa moved away from, torching it with his burning hand. (Damage: 11) Efreat (NPC'd) quickly moves towards the rest of the party and fires off two more rays of blazing fire at the one now sitting open by himself. Though this spells doesn't do near the damage it has against the Shaitians. (Total Damage: 19)

Switching his attack style, Daumari (NPC'd) moves past Bahir , switches his judgement to Destruction, and targets the one just hit by Efreat. But only the flaming end of his hammer strikes its target destructively. (Damage: 15)

The Gargoyles, seeing that they are suddenly over matched, take to the air (Full withdrawal), then make a straight shot towards the temple roof.

Round 15 - Everyone is up!

Efreat steps over and takes a long shot, firing five blasts at the one he hit before (Magic Missile). All five shots make direct hits, striking it in the back causing it to fall from the sky and land with a loud thug in the sand. (Damage: 20)

Can basically drop out of initiative here. Only one Gargoyle remains and he is staying up high above. Various spells will be expiring in the next round or two.

Reddening from embarassment at missing the easy shot (and breathing a prayer of thanks that nothing worse happened with the spell), Mah'ysa glanced around for another foe.
Seeing no immediate threats, she motions for the others to gather around, then holds forth her Ankh and channels positive energy, healing all within 30' for 4d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 2, 3) = 13 points healing.

Osirion

Male Halfling Rogue 11

Pae breaths a sigh off relief as his wounds close..

"Thank you M'lady..that was a mite too close for comfort"

Osirion

Kneeling, Bahir sinks his scimitar into the desert sands to wipe the quickly freezing gore off. Facing the temple he suggests, "We should find the entrance to their home so we can free the prisoner."

Wild Shape: Medium Air Elemental Male Human (Desert) Druid 11

Hazreem replies to the paladin, "I agree, but maybe we should try to talk to that female Shaitan Iqilma first. I would hate to try to fight our way further into this place." He then reaches into his pouch and withdraws a wand. Activating it, some of the gouges in the earth elemental' s stone body close up.

Want of Cure Moderate Wounds 2d8 + 3 + 34 ⇒ (3, 1) + 3 + 34 = 41 total HP
I assume we are still in round by round Combat here...

Mah'ysa, satisfied with the general healing of the party, pulls out a Wand of Cure Moderate and applies it to Hazreem. He is healed for 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (3, 8) + 3 = 14 points.

Stepping back, she looks into the sky after Zulfiquar and sighs.
"Yes, let's make the rescue."

The last remaining Gargoyle lands upon the temple roof and begins licking it's wounds. But Efreat doesn't let it rest as he fires off 5 more blasts of magical power.

Efreat Magic Missile: 5d4 + 5 ⇒ (1, 3, 2, 3, 3) + 5 = 17

The blasts all strike the stony creature, causing it to fall from the roof, dropping to the smooth stone ground at the base of the temple. It shatters in a thousand pieces on impact.

You find yourselves alone out here in the desert, just a slight wind blowing sand and standing before an open air temple and the strange walls that the Shaitians formed out of the ground.

Out of initiative...

Mah'ysa's prayer, followed by Efreat's Haste enchantment, quickly fades as you look upon the carnage. Just two Shaitians plus Obherak lie motionless on the sand, while the remains of eight gargoyles litter the area. Among the regular Shaitians, they only thing of interest is their large scimitars. But Obherak's body is considerably more decorated. Besides his large falchion that previously had magical flame upon it during battle, you find bracers on his wrists and a ring on each finger, all radiating magical auras. One of the rings is shaped like a ram's head, like the one Haleen was using back in the House of the Beast. The other ring you are able to identify as another Ring of Protection +2. He also has a golden circlet around his head, probably signifying his leadership, but no magical auras come from it.

"One moment Mah'ysa..." Hazreem reaches into his pouch and grabs his other wand of lesser healing. He motions Pae and Efret over and touches them with his wand a couple of times before he brings himself up to (almost) full strength.

Osirion

Watching thoughtfully as the last gargoyle plummets and shatters, "While I do not relish anymore fighting, I think that we should find the prisoner before they figure out to use him as a hostage or worse. I am assuming the entrance is somewhere in this temple." He moves into the temple and begins looking around.

Assuming the entrance is hidden we should probably do a once over and if we find nothing then do a more thorough search (take 20's).

Wild Shape: Medium Air Elemental Male Human (Desert) Druid 11

hazreem chimes in, "Actually I believe there is no entrance accessible for us as these Shaitan have demonstrated earth is no barrier for them. If necessary I can use my wand to open a way inside."

Osirion

Bahir frowns, "Didn't they sometimes open it to refresh their air or something like that? You are probably right that it is currently sealed but can't hurt to look. Or do you already have an idea about where it is?"

Osirion

Male Halfling Rogue 11

"It's strange I never thought I would say this but I'm getting bored with genies" Pae comments "However we do it let us do it quickly"

Walking into the temple, you find that the stone platform that hangs over the edge of the crater is polished granite, its surface inscribed with faint geometric patterns. Patrially eroded statues of a humanoid figure stand atop the open area, while a colonade supports a stone roof that provides shade. A stone ramp leads down from the platform into the dusty crater below. While the statues have suffered severe erosion, the temple itself strangely has not.

Starting at one end, you meticulously scour the temple for any sign of an entrance or any clues as to how to get in. In the westernmost pillar, concealed behind a graven relief of a criosphinx, you find a hidden cache. But inside you don't find any mechanisms to enter any hidden areas of the temple, instead you find someone's treasure horde. You find a bag containing various coins, clearly over 1000 gold worth, 6 tiger eye gems, and a really nice looking topaz. There is also a potion marked as being lesser restoration and a blue crystal wand that emanates a necromantic aura.

Continuing your search, you notice something strange on the stone floor just south of the shaded area. There is a 10-foot diameter area of the polished stone floor that lacks the faint inscriptions found everywhere else.

Spellcraft DC24:
This 10-foot diameter area is the work of stone shape and wall of stone spell used to cover something up.

Efreat Spellcraft: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (9) + 13 = 22
Daumari Spellcraft: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (9) + 14 = 23

Daumari gestures towards the strange circle on the stone floor. "Looks like more of the genie's handiwork. They're hiding something here."

Wild Shape: Medium Air Elemental Male Human (Desert) Druid 11

Hazreem nods in agreement. "I agree. Should I take a peek below, or just open it up for the rest of you?" He pulls the wand of Stone Shape out."I have my trusty key right here."

Osirion

Male Halfling Rogue 11

"Just open it no point in us splitting up again."

Wild Shape: Medium Air Elemental Male Human (Desert) Druid 11

"Sure thing." Hazreem activates the wand and opens a hole in the stone circle. He then moves to the edge and peers inside.

Perception 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (5) + 15 = 20

As Hazreem activates his gift from the Proteans, the 10-foot diameter area of stone floor retracts revealing a deep pit. Glancing down, the pit continues down into the darkness, at least 60 feet in depth, probably more. The walls of this 10-foot wide circular pit are made of extremely smooth stone, almost polished.

Osirion

Male Halfling Rogue 11

"Wonderful..a hole.." Pae mutters and looks at the others

Osirion

Bahir looks like he shares the halfling's sentiments exactly, "Anyone have any ideas how to get down there safely?"

Wild Shape: Medium Air Elemental Male Human (Desert) Druid 11

Hazreem replies, "I cam glide through the rock next to the hole and see how far it goes down. Then you can toss me a rope and I can tie it off at the bottom."

Mah'ysa shakes her head.
"Not unless I can summon some aid."

Osirion

The paladin pulls out his coil of rope and nods in agreement with Mah'ysa, "I should go first in case any of those earth genies decide it is a good idea to ambush or cut the rope. But first..." He lights a sunrod and drops it down the pit, "...let's see how deep this thing is."

Lighting the sunrod, Bahir drops it straight down the pit. The circular pit stays a constant 10-foot circle as it descends, lighting up the smooth walls. After about 60 feet or so the side walls end, falling into a large chamber. It lands about 20 feet later with a loud clank on stone, the sound traveling back up the pit before the rod bounces and rolls out of sight. The light suddenly becomes faint, followed by another clanking sound. The sound is fainter this time, though it may just be because the sound is drowned out by the sound of several strange growling beasts and the scraping noises as something moves down below. Several seconds later, there is a faint crunching sound and the faint light visible goes out completely revealing nothing but blackness again.

The sound does not seem to be of anything you recognize.

Mah'ysa straightens up slowly.
"Well."
She looks at the others.
"It sounds like more fighting is in the offing. I have to tell you, I have already expended the Dawnflowers most powerful healing gifts."

Wild Shape: Medium Air Elemental Male Human (Desert) Druid 11

Hazreem nods grimly. "Yeah it looks like it. Still, I think we need to see if there is a way to sneak around...whatever it is down there. I suggest Pae and I go down first. I can slip through the earth and Pae can climb down without using a rope."

Osirion

Looking to Pae, "If we tie our ropes together I should be able to make it to the bottom as you walk down." Pausing at Hazreem's words, "That sounds wise. Let's get the rope ready and I'll await your signal to descend."

Sardaukar: I'm hoping we can tie the rope to a close pillar or something.

The nearest pillar from the temple structure is about 15 feet from the edge of this pit.
