Yasmin asks Sandara. "Hey, who was that older lady with the gray hair? Seems like she has a bit of magic in her."

As the discussion turns to Grok, Yasmin is eager to get in touch. "We need to have a chat with her and get our stuff back!"

Yasmin tries to sip her rum very gingerly. Fortitude: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21. Then she will join Ulgrast in seeking out Grok.

You probably shouldn't break out the mask yet, but that's up to you. Also, for any influence check, I need a Diplomacy, Bluff or Intimidate check. You can also add how you intend to influence, such as what you'd say, how you'd say it, etc.

Sandara responds to Yasmin, "That's likely Peppery Longfarthing. She's the ship's sailing master and she's a capable wizard or somesuch. Far more powerful when it comes to the magics than I - and likely you lot, too. She's been at it a long while. She's in tight with Scourge, Plugg and the Cap'n, so I'd stay clear of her, if I were you."

Female Human Unchained Rogue 1 : Init +4 | Perc +10| AC 20/ T 14/ FF 16 | HP 50/50| Saves F +4/R +11/W +5

Keenly aware of what could happen to her at the hands of the crew, should she pass out from drinking, Allie decides to dispose of her rum by quickly tossing it over the side when no one is watching.

Stealth Check: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21

Fort Save, seasickness: 1d20 ⇒ 1

As the evening progresses, her stew doesn't set so well in her stomach, and the strong smell of rum, combined with the unsteady, slight rolling of the deck sets her guts to heaving.

Allie runs to the gunnal and leans far over the side. She can be heard audibly feeding her half-digested stew to the fish, below.

Male Half-Orc Witch (Scarred Witch Doctor) 2 | Init +1| Perc +1| HP 20/20 (2 non-lethal)| AC, 11 FF 10, Touch 11| F+5, R+2, W+4

Ulgrast accompanies Yasmin to the quartermaster to make an effort to get his spell component pouch back. Before the lovely bard can get a word in, the hideously scarred orc tries it his own way. In his gutteral common he spouts out: "You have Ulgrast's spirit-bag. It no good for you, has things for Ulgrast to make his magics like demon blood and other things. You give back to me, and I can use magics for good things, like healing hurts and helping ship. It do you no good, so you give it back to me, yes?"

Diplomacy: 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (5) - 3 = 2

When you find Grok, you discover that she's with Kroop, the cook, and both are already quite drunk. She looks at Ulgrast approaching and seems to assess his strange appearance with a mixture of respect and fear. However, when Ulgrast begins speaking, her brow furrows and she grows annoyed. "Can't you see we're drinking here you scarred up son-of-a-b#$+@? Leave us be. You can get your spirit bag to help and heal the crew - as if that's what you'd do with it anyhow - when the Cap'n says you get it. No sooner. Demon blood or no," she says.

Well, that went poorly. Her attitude has shifted to Unfriendly.

Ulgrast shakes his head sadly, shoulders slumped. In his gutteral common he says, "No, no. No one listens when I nicely ask. This is not one of my blessings."

Shaking his head he looks to Grok, "Tomorrow you will help me, the spirits will see it so. Then you can remember how nice I was on this day."

Ulgrast will return to his bunk, find his mask, and rememorize spells a little differently without material components. I already updated this on my sheet if that is OK.

Male Mountain Dwarf Ranger (Soldier)/5; HP: 61/61; AC: 19; Initiative: +3 (Adv); Passive Perception: 13; Inspiration: 1

Dorin will sip his drink casually as he sits quietly on the main deck.

Fort: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

While he is drinking he will search out the dwarf with bulbous nose. Assuming he finds him, he will attempt to strike up a conversation in Dwarvish.

Don't think I caught yer name. I be Dorin Stonehammer. Are ya a regular on the riggin'?

Diplomacy: 1d20 ⇒ 16

What do I need to roll in an attempt to influence? Can it be something other than Diplomancy?

Roll20 |Female Halfling Hunter / Swashbuckler (Mouser) 3 | HP 33/33 | AC:21 T:16 FF:16 CMD:16 | F+4 R+9 W+3 (-2 penalty vs fear) | Init+5 | Perc+12

Yasmin's brow furrows as Ulgrast makes his presentation. No, no, that's not how to do it at all! But with the way the Orc started, and the two of them drunk, it didn't look like a good night to smooth things out. "Don't do anything rash, Ulgrast. She might be more helpful tomorrow when she's sober."

Yasmin returns to the mess hall and tries her hand at entertaining the crew with song. She breaks out some old Kelish tunes Perform (song): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12. Fail. But the crowd does not seem impressed. Maybe it wasn't so smart to be singing songs in a foreign language to a drunk audience.

You can roll the normal (diplomacy, intimidate or bluff), but if you get creative and use the sailor's interests or in-character knowledge of what makes them tick, you can lower the DC significantly - perhaps even reducing the need for the roll.

The bulbous-nosed dwarf turns when you approach. He spits at your feet as you finish speaking. "You don' have no cause for speakin' to 'Narwhal', ya' filthy lubber," he responds, in common so the fellows around him can understand. "Why don't you head back over to yer table o' women and talk ta' them?" He spits again, but this time the glob finds your chest. He and his friends laugh at your expense.

You've met Tam "Narwhal" Tate. He is hostile towards you.

Greeeeeeat...

Female Human Infernal Sorcerer 3

Taking a quick sniff of the rum, Eli briefly appears revolted and mumbles "Oh, this can't be good..." With a quick sip, she throws back some of the rum so as to save face.

Fortitude Check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

Unprepared for its strength, Eli coughs profusely while sticking her tongue out. Trying to laugh it off, she adds "Smooth stuff. I'll save that for later." Tucking the booze away, Eli gets up from the table.

Oh, I should have eaten something... drinking that poison on an empty stomach is going to leave me in a state.

Deciding it wise to put something in her belly, Eli heads off to seek out Ambrose Kroop in the kitchen.

Going to us my influence roll on Kroop, try and charm and flirt a decent meal out of him.

Walking into the kitchen as Ulgrast is heading the opposite direction, Eli plays up the poor young lass who really needs a good meal. "Oh, Mr. Kroop, my apologies but the rum didn't agree with me. Wouldn't you be so kind as to have something good I could eat before bed?" Sensing that he likes his liquor, she hands him her ration "You can have my ration for your troubles," pausing with a quick wink and a gentle laugh, she adds "Besmara save me, I just can't handle my booze apparently."

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25

Edit: Well damn, that's a nice roll! I think I'd like to see if I can get him to fix me up with some herbs and maybe even my healing kit if he has access to it.

Female Human Unchained Rogue 1 : Init +4 | Perc +10| AC 20/ T 14/ FF 16 | HP 50/50| Saves F +4/R +11/W +5

Looking up, bleary eyed and disheveled from her retching fit, Allie excuses herself from the festivities and staggers below. Settling into her hammock, she places a hand on the hilt of her concealed dagger, and readies herself to draw it if one of her new cremates decides that she looks like a ripe plum to pluck.

He'll lose a few plums of his own, if he tries, she muses, as she drifts off.

I am bowing out. Good luck all. PM me if we find a Skull & Shackles that moves at a good pace.

Female Human Infernal Sorcerer 3
