Eclipse gives a quick check making sure the weapon is installed before checking out his surroundings. Seeing Kimaryn talking to the Rhyporian he goes over to make sure things are going well.

He arrives just in time to hear the conversation and chimes in,

"Kima, our friend here must be pretty tough or a little crazy to have acquired these bones! Well...A Rhyporian down in this heat must be tough to start with..." he smirks while admiring the black-market parts.

Aid Another: Culture: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

"So...what does bring a Rhyporian from the winters of Triaxus to these pits for a race?" he says more directly to the racer.

Kima tries to find some good junk, but only finds broken carburators. Kima gets a bit of a grumpy response from the Android.

Grinder tries to find something out about Ratrod, and sees that the targetting on his racer is rather poor, so his energy weapon wlll be hard to aim.

After his sabotaging actions, Eclipse returns to upgrading the racer.

Rhinn has a good response from the Ryphorian, but he still does get the sense she's not letting him in on all her life's secrets.

Kappa finally finds what he's looking for, and makes a nice speedy modifcation to he racer.

Grinder talks to velocity, who seems to be frustrated by the lack of speed of his racer. With a mechanics check, you can help him, and he might be convince to ally

Eclipse talks to the Ryphorian, trying to help whoever is coming along... Will count aid action is someone else also talks to Nyizin

Liberty's Edge

Apologies. Biggest quarter ever at work, which meant ridiculous number of contracts going through last minute, so Friday through Monday was working all weekend. I didn't get to even check PbP for 4 days. Sorry I didn't give any notice or updates.

[ooc]Did it take more than one check in round 1 to get the alliance, I actually rolled both round and 2 in the same post if it didn't. Round 3 I'll talk to another racer.

Rhinn will attempt to and talk with Nyzin to gather intel and alliances.

Nyizin shrugs at the remarks of Rhinn, and keeps on tinkering in her own stoic style, until the signal for race start is given.

Reluctantly crouched at the starting line, the racers line up at the start line, until the shot for departure is given.

Rules are as follows: each round has two phases: in phase one, guns are fired, in phase two, a piloting check determines how fast you move along the track

Although Laboni is not much a pilot, a remote control installed on her racer allow the adventurers to control her racer from the sideline.

Velocity and Laboni clearly honor their alliance, and immediately fire at ratrod. The kinetic rounds immediately seem to throw the Ysoki's racer off balance.

Ratrod fires his guns at Laboni, who also gets shaken about, while Nyizin takes a hit from Orsis' gun.

Just one of you should make a roll. In this case it's Eclipse. I'll just take the first roll that comes in

Eclipse fires a shot at Ratrod, making the Ysoki's racer even harder to handle, then makes Laboni speed off, well ahead of the pack.

Lemgem's ride seems to be about to move, until a high-pitched noise emerges from his capsule, followed by a loud bang.

Laboni is clearly ahead, and Ratrod's machine is so hard to handle that it crashes into a pile of rubber off the circuit, severely slowing him down. Velocity and Nyizin speed away, and Orsis is more tardy.

Piloting
Velocity: 1d20 + 2 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 2 + 10 = 29
RatRod: 1d20 + 2 + 8 - 12 ⇒ (13) + 2 + 8 - 12 = 11
Nyizin: 1d20 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 2 + 4 = 20
Orsis: 1d20 + 2 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 2 + 6 = 11

With Laboni in pole position, Nyzin fires her gun at the Starfinder racer, as does Ratrod. Orsis instead aims for Velocity. Two shots rock Laboni's racer, making it that much harder to hit (-8 to piloting next round)

Shots
Velocity: 1d20 - 3 + 7 ⇒ (5) - 3 + 7 = 9
RatRod: 1d20 - 3 + 8 ⇒ (19) - 3 + 8 = 24

Finding himself swamped by the crowds as they enter the Junk race, Draken finds it hard to get to the pit and misses much of the race's build up. Apologising at his tardiness, he jumps in to help Eclipse at the helm of Laboni's Junkracer, wishingit was him behind the handle bars rather than a mouthy novice. Smilig as they take the initial lead, Draken works it into overdrive with a flashy stunt through the chicane.

Round one - piloting: 1d20 + 8 - 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 - 8 = 13

Cursing as he manoeuvre is thrown off from the gun's impacts, Draken desperately tries to regain control.

Draken struggles to keep the racer straight, and clips the edge of the track, which costs a lot of speed. Ratrod seems to make up some ground, and Velocity barely manages to move at all. Nyizin seems glued into place, and Orsis just carefully moves forward.

Velocity keeps his guns aimed at ratrod, but fails to score a hit. Ratrod and Nyizin manage to hit the leading Laboni from afar, while Orsis is not having his day.

Piloting
Velocity: 1d20 + 2 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 2 + 10 = 15
RatRod: 1d20 + 2 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 2 + 8 = 30

Nyizin: 1d20 - 3 + 8 ⇒ (20) - 3 + 8 = 25
Orsis: 1d20 - 3 + 6 ⇒ (3) - 3 + 6 = 6

The next moment sees a frantic chase, with Laboni not making as much headway as she ought, and the other drivers quickly catching up.

Piloting
Velocity: 1d20 + 2 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 2 + 10 = 25
RatRod: 1d20 + 2 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 8 = 16

Sorry, i am sure i had posted!

Gritting his teeth as his manoeuvre is defeated by weight of fire, Draken laments the shoddy connection of the control and wished dearly to be behind the racer, even if it might ruin his career if his sponsors found out. Throwing the cycle into full power, Draken takes the next corner at an alarming speed to gain headway.

piloting: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16

| AbadarCorp Entertainment Official GM | How is my flying? | DICEBOT LOVES YOU |Starship combat cheat sheet | STEAL THIS TEMPLATE | Traveling until Jan 3, reduced posting frequency expected

Wow, those are some sorry rolls...

Piloting
Velocity: 1d20 + 2 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 2 + 10 = 25
RatRod: 1d20 + 2 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 8 = 16
Nyizin: 1d20 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 2 + 4 = 13
Orsis: 1d20 + 2 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 6 = 14

Shots
Velocity: 1d20 - 3 + 7 ⇒ (7) - 3 + 7 = 11
RatRod: 1d20 - 3 + 8 ⇒ (3) - 3 + 8 = 8
Nyizin: 1d20 - 3 + 8 ⇒ (2) - 3 + 8 = 7
Orsis: 1d20 - 3 + 6 ⇒ (18) - 3 + 6 = 21

The blade-grinder takes hold of the controls, but clearly was misinformed about which direction he is supposed to be going. He mashes the fire button, firing a shot to nowhere in particular, then bores the racer straight into the ground. Ratrod and Velocity speed up and close the gap to Laboni's racer, then start trading shots. Between them, though, only Orsis manages to land a hit on Ratrod.

Piloting
Velocity: 1d20 + 2 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 10 = 14
RatRod: 1d20 + 2 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 2 + 8 = 18
Nyizin: 1d20 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 4 = 12
Orsis: 1d20 + 2 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 2 + 6 = 28

Shots
Velocity: 1d20 - 3 + 7 ⇒ (6) - 3 + 7 = 10
RatRod: 1d20 - 3 + 8 ⇒ (6) - 3 + 8 = 11
Nyizin: 1d20 - 3 + 8 ⇒ (3) - 3 + 8 = 8
Orsis: 1d20 - 3 + 6 ⇒ (15) - 3 + 6 = 18

Draken quickly takes over to try and salvage the race. He zips ahead, with Ratrod in close chase. Nyizin almost looks like she's given up, though Orsis closes in dramatically. With more fire left and right, Orsis is again the only one managing a hit, again on Ratrod.

Piloting
Velocity: 1d20 + 2 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 2 + 10 = 25
RatRod: 1d20 + 2 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 2 + 8 = 24
Nyizin: 1d20 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 2 + 4 = 14
Orsis: 1d20 + 2 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 2 + 6 = 26

Shots
Velocity: 1d20 - 3 + 7 ⇒ (1) - 3 + 7 = 5
RatRod: 1d20 - 3 + 8 ⇒ (2) - 3 + 8 = 7
Nyizin: 1d20 - 3 + 8 ⇒ (11) - 3 + 8 = 16
Orsis: 1d20 - 3 + 6 ⇒ (11) - 3 + 6 = 14

Draken keeps his steady advantage, and even though Ratrod races flawlessly, the slow racer can't make up any ground. Nyizin, in a last-ditch effort, opens up the super-throttle of her racer, nearly doubling her speed, but unfortunately also doubling the rate at which she crashes into the barriers.

Laboni's racer is 200 ft away from the finish!

The Exo-guardians do not have a permanent headquarters in Absalom. Rather, their leader resides in the downlow, a poor but trendy neighborhood.

Garbage litters the ground around the district’s largest art park—a cement lot filled with undulating metal sculptures and covered in graffiti of grotesquely adorable creatures. The sounds of music and chatter drift over from the nearby clubs, chronically interrupted by the roar of the local gangsters’ engines. A heavily augmented host shirren is sitting on one of the park benches, eating a simple meal of cold grub-noodles and rice candy. Their antennae perk up at the tremor of approaching footsteps. “Welcome, new Starfinders! And congratulations!” the shirren’s voice telepathically projects. “My speech-name is Zigvigix, but feel free to call me Ziggy, if that would be easier for you. Have some rice candy to celebrate your graduation! Today is your big day!

“When you are ready, I have two assignments I could use assistance with. The first is to help me secure a new headquarters on Absalom Station. I’ve been in talks with our station’s protectors, the Stewards, and they were kind enough to give us ownership of a warehouse here in Downlow for that purpose! The current owners no longer want it because a vicious alien took it over and kills anyone who goes inside. Once the alien is gone and the warehouse cargo has been returned to its owners, we can start installing desks and computers, so please go in and incinerate the creature!

“My second assignment...” Zigvigix twitches their tooth barbs for a moment and then holds out a credstick. “Please buy the brand-new Strawberry Machine Cake album, Star Sugar Heartlove!!!, which is out today, and give it to Historia-7 when you see her. She is the head of the Dataphiles, so you should meet her today! I wish to do it myself, but I... I have trouble standing for long periods of time. Thank you very much!”

Historia-7 seemed quite down to me lately, Zigvigix explains, she lost her mentor in the Scoured Stars incident, it must be hard for her. I always find that Sugar Pop cheers me up, so I hope that the music will cheer her up. Have you heard their latest song? It's a real bop! I'd say it's right up there with 'My Love from Liavara', and it's really cheery, the Shirren mention enthousiastically. Who's your favourite member? The giant spider man had been ready and willing to work for the great guardians of the galaxy here to defend against real live space monsters...so finding he was some frivolous fool obsessed with some sort of Cake was....a disappointment.

"Well that's sad. *Sigh* fine I guess we go wait in line for no good reason while there's a perfectly good Galaxy to be defending.

No, no, I don't want them dead, I want you to buy their album!

Ah wait, you mean the creature. Yes, I want that one out of commission. I believe the creature is a feather stalker. They are far more vicious than their name lets on. As far as the Stewards have been able to piece together, a two-bit crime lord illegally imported the creature, and the beast promptly ate him. I have holorecordings of the incident, taken o ff the station’s security cameras—PCs, if you would like to see.

You can make a life science check after watching the recording

The footage clearly shows the stalker shooting a harpoon-like feather, something that Pangea-Kappa has stored in his memory banks as the unexpected special ability of the creature.

The giant spidery eyes of the haan warrior eyed Pangea carefully. There is a moment of tense silence as the insectoid features on his face remained unreadable. And then a loud series of hisses.

The line is a cheerful, chaotic, and long-winded affair. The area in front of the AbadarCorp Entertainment Audio Outlet is jam-packed, with fans singing songs and waving their special fan-holosticks. Holographics strawberry machine cake wave members throw kisses left and right, and the latest strawberry machine cake recording is unavoidable.

...Star! Star! Sugar! Heart! L-l-l-love!

I need a DC 12 Fort save to avoid becoming fatigued

Another three hours pass, until suddenly the crowd erupts into a terrifying cacophony of roaring and screaming. The front doors of AbadarCorp Entertainment Audio Outlet open, and the crowd starts a mad, frantic dash for the counter. It's quite hard to keep standing in this stampede.

I need a DC 11 Reflex save to avoid taking 1d4 ⇒ 3 points of damage

Finally, He-who-grinds-blades-to-dust makes it to the counter, and is simply asked:

How many?

Rhinn finds himself singing along to the music several times, before realizing he's on an official Starfinder and tries to regain his composure playing the proper soldier. Standing in line for long for a long time is probably the best fit for his skill set so far, and he makes no complaints about the wait. He skillfully dodges the rush of the crowd as he makes his way to the front, making sure to secure a copy of the album for himself, then remembering they also had to get one for the mission.

That's 50 creds for every album, though the first one is sponsored by Zigvigix

The starfinder eagerly purchase copies of the album, a tribute to flowers and the color pink. All around, people are looking at their own copy in excitement, the music never actually quite stopping. The album is a pretty neat package, coming with a hi-def-holographic photobook and a randomly selected photocard

Down to the alien? Or do you want to deliver the album first?

Liberty's Edge

I vote alien.

The warehouse has been secured with a force barrier. Station security allow the party through as soon as they identify themselves. You're free to go in, but we'll put the barrier back up as soon as you've passed. The barrier blocks most sound, so screaming is useless.

Sense motive, dc 15:
He's not even considering the possibility that you might return

The warehouse itself is unlocked - the lock is broken and destroyed.

The warehouse is only dimly lit, 30 feet high. A catwalk runs 15 feet above the floor. The warehouse is filled with crates and barrels, and there's a scaffolding holding more crates. There's junk strewn across the floor, enough to make passage difficult.

Please move your own token as you investigate. Where you are is where you are when combat starts
